2301  Economy / Speculation / Re: [ANN] Asset Allocation during Financial Crash. +53% Annualized Gains on: September 28, 2014, 02:38:33 PM
Total Portfolio development

Portfolio up +1.7% since inception on September 14, 2014.
* Investment of 10,000 USD would be up 170 USD.
* Investment of 1,000,000 USD be up 17,000 USD.

Current Asset Allocation September 28, 2014
88% Cash (USD)
6% Gold
5% Short Stocks (S&P 500, NDX, both 10x leveraged)
0.5% Bitcoin
0.3% Monero
0.2% DIEM (as a "playground play", no serious fundamentals behind)

Thinking of playing around with DOGE for a bit. I have about 1M at the moment. I foresee 150 Satoshis coming mid-week. To be honest, I saw the current rally coming when they announced the Litecoin fork but didn't have the time/will to mess around with at the time. Also, did you gave up with XMR? It's a nice entry point IMHO.

Cheers

How a topic about Bitcoin price ended up as a discussion about quantum mechanics?

By the way: can I receive Bitcoin as payment for selling stuff on paypal?
Too many scientists here. We need more trolls. This thread is simply pathetic.  Grin

You don't have the slightest clue what quantum physics is about, do you? Science is most definitely not a religion, it's a method. A very successful method towards generating understanding and technological progress from that understanding. Quantum physics has fuck-all to do with 'belief', to put it bluntly.

Science (from Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge"[1]) is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.[2][3][4] In an older and closely related meaning, "science" also refers to a body of knowledge itself, of the type that can be rationally explained and reliably applied. A practitioner of science is known as a scientist.

Go on then, state your point?

What would I know about science? I'm only a troll here. Go away! Grin

It could be considered a religion in some ways. Science tries to explain the whole universe, most religions do the same. Quantum goes full circle and puts belief before creation.

god is the universe.

we are a part of him

he is unaware of are being, and completely indifferent.

FTFY! Grin
The "are being" is still cryptic though...

He's talking about my schizophrenic personality. It's OK. WE AGREE! Grin

It's OK Adam.  I am used to it.  I post on some "Off Topic" thread on religion and it can get ugly.   Undecided  I am usually outnumbered in my thinking for sure!  Plus I am female!   Shocked  What am I even doing on this thread!?  Cheesy

Victimizing yourself will not make your arguments any more or less valid, that's all I want to say about it really.

I'm a known a-religionist, but trust me there's nothing stronger than faith. It's somehow incorporated into this damn Matrix. Like a virus, or a secret weapon which whoever possesses a glimpse of it, can make miracles. Christian, Buddhist, Science; whatever you believe, if you believe it strongly, you can actually make it real.
2310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 27, 2014, 09:11:44 PM
I could lose every penny I have and that would be OK, really.  I can't trust in money.  We trust in money too much in this world unfortunately.

I think I do enjoy the adrenalin rush a little too much during a bubble though.  Perhaps that is wrong?  That could be greed.   Undecided  I need to think about that.  It is perhaps an area in my life I should pray about.

If you think I am stubborn about Bitcoin, don't even get me started about my Christian beliefs.   Cheesy

I already figured it'd be best to leave religion out of this for the sake of not putting a bomb under this topic.

Don't worry, there are about 40 people here doing JUST that all day! It's part of the fun! Grin

It depends what the main goal is?

Would it be nice to have the freedom to do more things in life?  Sure.  Money is just a necessary tool that can be used for great good in the world.  Money is useful and there are some things I would like to use it for, but there are many more important things in life than money!  But we should be wise with it too.  Some people think Bitcoin is a foolish investment.  I think keeping all of my cash in USD and stocks could be a foolish investment.  We put our trust in the wrong things sometimes.

I'm not even saying wanting to make money is bad, I mean we're all here, are we not? I'm trying to make as much money as I can too.. I'm just using you as an example to the forum for how you can make buttloads of hypothetical money and then still lose most of it due to tunnel vision and stubbornness in your beliefs.

It's easy to comply. When you need a quality life you are in need of money. The fact is, that most people won't understand where the global economic system is really heading. Do you think that EVERYTHING is alright? that DJ won't stop and always keep rising? Well, good luck with that. Expect rain people, and it won't be a water one. Just give it sometime. I'm sure most of you are here for the wrong reasons, but there are certain ones that know EXACTLY what they're doing.

BTC is going only one way and this is UP. I expect it sooner than later. Spread the FUD all you want you won't get any of my coins.

Hi

The first G40m was paid out today on the Android App. The hackers failed to get in (for now)
Lets see if they win this week or if we can get busy finishing Tron. They shut the App for eight
days. If fairness without them we would never get the system secure so I say thank you !

Best
Greg

Problem remains. Tablet won't withdraw funds from casino to the wallet (any slot game). Did you solve it yourself?

Jim is a great figure of the system. This is HUGE indeed. Maybe we're witnessing a self fulfilling prophecy towards bitcoin incorporation. Nice times. Smiley

This actually sounds really frightening from a global fiat perspective. Even after cutting the usual US fear propaganda stuff that they usually put in.

I see this as the next level towards a brand new economic future. I'm not saying that BTC will be the USD descendant, such a guess may be inaccurate. I'm saying that the current global reserve currency needs an update. Maybe it's one of the hundreds altcoins out there. Who knows? One thing is for certain; the current fiat bubble is going for a huge boom and the system needs to preserve its fundamental basis.

It's not frightening. It's the future. Cool

I have this crazy idea that the Winklevoss bros are selling their stash for DOGE...  Grin Adam, did you SODL yet or...?
lol
no.

For Doge? These guys aren't completely retarded, they are actually pretty smart. Doge is something with a terminal value of zero. You do the math.

I think I keep about 1.1M of them somewhere in this hoarding mess... Maybe I must change my nick to Winklesga or something... Grin

Be sure to sell them at some point. Doge, just like fiat, will be inflated indefinitely and is therefore inherently worthless. Have fun speculating Smiley

Granted. Seriously now, I think it will hit 5x this price and feel free to call me whatever you like. It's only a game for me (always was); used to spend them for tips and small buying in the past (bought a raspberry with 100K of them). I respect the community though. The liftoff I think it's not a usual pump n dump only. It has to do with the Litecoin fork and the fact that the community kept strong even at their lowest point.

We'll see.

PS: Wallet found Wink
