Good morning Bitcoinland.

The battle for $50k rages on... currently $49661USD/$62595CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Less than 3 weeks until autumn (N. hemisphere).

Go Bitcoin go.

I know, if Laszlo hadn't spent 10k in pizza and everyone at their time had hodled instead of putting up faucets, probably today we wouldn't be here :

Everybody remembers Laszlo and his 10kBTC pizzas but how about the British dude who paid for them with his credit card and got the coins?

Anyone except Laszlo know his name? Is he still hodling most of those coins?

It takes two to make a deal, a buyer and a seller.

Someone realized early the potential of Bitcoin and put his money there. He deserves equal credit.

Not only that but a trace of where they have gone since then if he didn't hold would be an interesting exercise.

No one remembers who the buyer dude was, but I think the coins have been analyzed and it's been dispersed through time and all or most of those 10k coins are now with everyone. Everyone has a taint of it, it just goes back all those blocks ago.

Hah, same thought. You got a link to that analysis?

So I was finally doing a bit of draft research and see that ESPN recommends this as the #1 pick:

Draft rank 1.4 and Position Rank 51?

I realize he was out for a lot of last season but what guarantees do people have this guy's gonna be as good as he once was? I'm probably missing something here. Just saying you if you guys want him, probably won't have to talk me out of him.

Whoever is telling to pick him with your coveted number one pick is playing you!

Don't fall for it! Cheesy

I've stopped using Coinbase. There are so many other exchanges even in the US that anyone can use.

They are the Feds Exchange.
2307  Economy / Speculation / Re: [arstechnica.com] Coinbase erroneously reported 2FA changes to 125,000 customers on: August 31, 2021, 03:08:57 PM

never got that email. not sure why. didnt even find out about it till the ars article yesterday (im a regular reader there).

one guy panic sold like 60k of coin. as to why he kept that amount there instead of in his own wallet is beyond me. exchanges are for money/coin  you intend to have ready to go via buy/sell ladders. and its money/coin that you should be prepared to kiss goodbye anyway, not you keys etc.

I think the point is that coinbase is insured for USD and not BTC so if they force people to panic they are going to move into the insured asset. This is a classic FUD move.

Don Pirtle told CNBC led him to panic-sell more than $60,000 of cryptocurrency.

Well... That's more than one whole bitcoin!

But it was probably ETH or some other shit tokens.

Actually the comments are the best part.  VERY VERY negative on "crypto".  Funny that many of us here would agree with them to some extent.

Note the upvotes as well as the "Editors Pick" tag.  LOL.

I hope I will live long enough to see the end of "Still Early".

That was one person that they could verify, do you think coinbase is sharing their customer list with anyone besides the fed? They are fearmongering and whether it was to force a market move or for some other reason I can only speculate.

Afa ARS comments, yeah it seems the campaign to smear bitcoin is still in force in the mainstream, when that dissapears will be the biggest signal the planet has ever seen. Be nice to know how many of the commentors are shills and how many are just morons.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32119363/sources-new-england-patriots-cut-cam-newton-mac-jones-start

Cam gets cut.  Bill going all in on Mac Jones.  He is the type of qb that Bill likes, cam didn't really fit the scheme but still aittle surprised.  No way they trade for a qb now they are all in one.  If they gave up draft capital for a backup after dropping cam that would be the dumbest thing they could do.  Should be an interesting year with a bunch of the rookie qbs probably going to start.  Could get 4 starting rookie qbs this year.

Covid Cam Cut has a ring to it.

Patriots super spreader event has hit the bricks.

I think he would have made it to game 4 if he had gotten vaxed.

The thing I don't see being mentioned is Hoyer is more than capable and has looked good not to mention he was in the patriot system previously.

Wouldn't it be better if they tried to trade him and get something in return, instead of just letting him go for nothing?

He's toxic no-one wants him.

@Hueristic. I vote no as the newbie of the group hehe. However, I not mind if everyone unanimously votes yes. How much players per line up will there be if we increase this?

Also, if I am late for 5 minutes, can I still join?

I would say it should be unanimous so your veto is enough. Smiley

Just thinking it would make the waiver wire more interesting.

You can join at anytime up to the final second, if your late you will get autodrafted so take some time to setup your draft list. Speaking of which I need to get to setting mine up, I like to wait till after preseason, it changes do to the injuries.

Just remembered we were going to discuss whether too increase the lineup size but never got to it.

What do you guys think, too late or is 4 days enough to discuss it?
2312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 30, 2021, 12:26:28 AM
Almost every 49er's coach in history has loved to rotate running backs and full backs situationally.  As a result it makes even our best running back a relatively poor choice for FF, in my opinion.  Mostert is likely to get the lion's share of snaps, but I predict we'll see a lot of Trey Sermon also.

Yeah I had him and Coleman a few years ago and trying to figure out which one of them (I think there was Breida too) was gonna get the share week to week was impossible! I ended up only playing one if the other 2 were hurt and that worked out well. Same with NE, I will never draft NE RBs.

Jags ml + 49ers ml is my ticket for today,

Nice Smiley

Speaking of the niners, lol on that opening drive.  Shanahan loves clowning around, he kept inserting Lance just to hand the ball off to Mostert, then runs Garoppolo for a TD.  Of course the Raiders' D was looking for Lance to run, and not expecting Jimmy to try.

Yeah, that was pretty funny but I can't believe the idiot went in head first on a pre season game!

Pure Stupidity there. I hope he doesn't think that will impress the coaches.

Mostert has been on my watch list.

More of these, please.  Maybe someday I will put one up.tc

But I know a lot of folks think the Guy Fawkes mask is cool and all, but doesn't it sort of reinforce the "shadowy super coder", "bitcoin is being used for dark purposes" stereotype?

In the US probably nearly half of us would associate that with Antifa, and most of those people would not see it in a positive light.

-says a random pseudonymous dude on the internet...

it is likely a bank advert try to hurt btc Wink

Not likely, they are the recipients of Brrrrr.

Occasionally you see some themes that are pro-bitcoin on the surface, but sending strange subliminal messages.

I have noticed this in quit a few instances as well.

At the time of the theft, the alleged perpetrators were both minors, so as Schober learned their identities, he sent their parents notes informing them of what he knew. “It seems your son has been using malware to steal money from people online,” he wrote. Schober appealed to the parents, asking them to “make this right, without involving law enforcement.” He said he would drop the matter if the stolen bitcoin was returned in full, and he listed an address and gave them a deadline. He sent one note in 2018 and another in 2019. He never heard back from either of the young men's parents.

but the parents and the crooks names are exposed. So they will always need look over their shoulders wondering if this guy that spent all this time and effort to track them down will or won't hurt them.

Or if others with a wrench will hunt their kids for the other coins they stole as well.

They should have taken him up on his offer rather than being pieces of shit.
Its easy to see why the kids turned into garbage.
