2301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 11, 2023, 09:26:21 AM
It seems that many have felt disappointment for Inter Milan in this match. because to be honest I was very disappointed with this result. especially when Martinez failed to take advantage of a Penalty kick which should have made Inter have an additional goal in this match. After seeing this, I even doubted Inter Milan in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League later.
Inter missed a penalty at the beginning of the match, I think around 14 minutes to the beginning of the match, but we know that even the best player can miss a penalty, penalty may not favour at times. To score a penalty on betting sites can have 1.2 to 1.3 odds, which means there is still many chance that the player can lose the penalty. That was not a disappointment in my opinion.

If you check the Inter versus Spezia match or if you watch it, you will notice that Inter tried, but the match was away match for them and Spezia was only just lucky to win. Know that the underdog may have the chance and win at times.

because the match will be held at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Napoli will play optimally in front of their supporters. Even I thought that there would not be a draw in this fight. Napoli should be able to win in this fight. Atalanta haven't even won in their last 3 matches. Their last match against Udinese also only resulted in a draw. and the previous 2 matches Atalanta lost in a row to Lecce and Milan. so betting on Napoli in this match is the best.
I too will expect Napoli to win, but the club big margin point different against other clubs is another thing to consider. Everyone also expected Napoli to win Lazio, but otherwise was the result, again Atalanta is another good club, although it is Napoli home.
2302  Economy / Gambling / Re: No bet is a waste on: March 11, 2023, 09:13:23 AM
If you gambles and have fun from what you did, accept it that it's not a waste because you get yourself satisfied with pleasure, if you take a bet prediction and pay for it and loose the game, it a waste and not only is it a waste but a waste of time and money, we gambles because we feels like it's worth taking our money in exchange for their gambling casino bets we take, this is a pure justification, this makes gambling a free and fare bet with fun.
That is just it, people should gamble for fun. What I know is that anyone that gambles more frequently is likely to lose more than he thought he would win. I have tried all strategies before, but what I finally realized was that you can not win the gambling sites, they have house edge which makes small, medium and big odds to favour them ( I mean the gambling site). People that are gambling should not see gambling as a money making means but I do not know how this should often be repeated to some people and yet coming up with a way to make money from gambling which may later only lead to remorse.
2303  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New York Attorney General Sues KuCoin on: March 11, 2023, 08:57:32 AM
It's not today's news, it was 2 days ago news, there was even a related discussion about it on this forum a day ago.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5444207.msg61886494#msg61886494

The skeptical me is beginning to speculate that there is a coordinated attack against the cryptospace.
This is not the first time, but know that those centralized platforms are causing the attack. What is centralized can be controlled, the more decentralized things are, the lesser the control can be.

The market appears to have been okay, however.
Did you check the market ever since that has been reported? The market have crashed very well to the extent that bitcoin dumped below $20000. Bitcoin is even still better, altcoins dumped most and massively.

The NYAG's lawsuit targets KuCoin for allegedly “falsely representing itself as an exchange” when really it is a “securities and commodities broker-dealer.” It aims to block access to the exchange in New York by forcing KuCoin to geo-fence its website based on IP addresses and GPS location.
That won't be a problem and I do not see it as a downfall for Kucoin, US do not accept foreign exchanges, Kucoin should stop doing that.
2304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about stop gambling services issued by gambling platforms? on: March 10, 2023, 08:45:20 PM
That's a brilliant idea by you O.P, and I'm sure if such is implemented, it will help reduce the rate of gambling addiction all around the world.
However, I strongly think this should be the job of the licensing gambling body not that of the various numerous casinos. As it is their duty to provide an enabling environment for people to gamble, and as such help providing tips to help addicts recover fully.
But we all know that regulators and government in general does not care, all what they care about is how to collect tax. The truth is gambling is under-regulated.

But one thing certain is that, to quit gambling, such individual needs to be willing and genuinely ready to quit, if not all effects will be in vain.
If someone is addicted and suffered losses already, if the person go for rehab or his family take him to a rehab center, it is very likely that the person will later stop gambling because they will expose him to the truth for him to realize. Willingness may not come sometimes until certain things are done.
2305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about stop gambling services issued by gambling platforms? on: March 10, 2023, 04:18:21 PM
If there is such service, do not be surprised if it would not backfire on gambling sites because gambling is just in nature of humans.

There are some gambling sites that have articles that can help gamblers, notifying them when to stop gamble, they do notify gamblers in their gambling site. But I do not know if some gamblers that are getting addicted are reading it or not.

Also is self-exclusion.

But the best help a gambler can get is to self-discipline himself and know the truth that he can not gamble to make money, and to realize how greedy he is becoming to earn from gamblers sites. Also if family member noticed, self-exclusion and rehabilitation is indeed necessary.

But you should also know that all areas of life can be used to launder money. If you are a very rich man, you can launder money. Did you know that many rich people in this world, some of them are full of good activities in the public but full of criminal activities in the dark that no one may know except people like him. It is good to regulate gambling, that is true, but all businesses can be used to launder money.
2307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you Bet on a Fight that is Scripted? on: March 09, 2023, 04:08:34 PM
Everything about WWE is scripted since I know about them, the matches look fake to me at times and it is not what I can go for. I will prefer to for boxing instead which is real. I can never bet on wresting like WWE.

For the real life matches in sport, we have so many options that we can just go for instead of the wrestling that is only meant for entertainment, not for betting for me when I have real life ones that can even take away my whole day if I want it to be like that.
2308  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 09, 2023, 12:29:01 PM
The legality of teaching children how to trade cryptocurrencies depends on the country and the specific laws and regulations in force. Many countries do not have specific laws governing cryptocurrency trading. It is important for parents to learn the laws and regulations in their country or region and exercise caution when allowing their children to trade cryptocurrencies.
I do not think that is totally true, you can see many centralized exchanges that do not require anything more than email and password to trade, although some can demand for KYC, but what about those decentralized exchanges that you can also be used to trade. I have seen it on pancakeswqp that you can even do future trading which only what you need to do is to send coins to your noncustodial wallet and connect the noncustodial wallet to the decentralized exchange, using the coin on your noncustodial wallet to trade without any identity needed and the control is totally yours.

It's okay, let them explore things like trading as it will enrich their critical thinking and will urge them to know more about the financial market. Every learning should be supported when your kids are very excited and craving to do it. Showing them that you support them will make them optimistic that there should be a good result of what they are trying to do. It's risky because there's money involved but trading isn't limiting everyone to just have a set of budget like a couple of bucks or minimum amount that's required by an exchange.
To me it is not a good advice for children to trade, but you can start teaching them the basics and what that is required and how risky it is with real life past events of people that have lost huge amount of money to trading. What I just meant in my first post is not about age of 10, 11, 12 which are very small, even 14 is still very small, but just that a friend is asking a friend about how to trade, if he continues to discourage him and he persistently want to know how to trade, there is nothing bad to teach him, but letting him to know the wrong side of trading and how it can turn a rich man to a poor person. As a friend, I can teach, and as a father, uncle or brother, I can teach but not in a way to let the child trade, but as a step to what he many know in the future.
2309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 09, 2023, 07:59:48 AM
No doubt Galtier missed Neymar in the game last night. but i expect messi and  mbappe to turn things well in the attack line. but they could not deliver psg to the quarter finals. is a big shame for Galtier, he cant use this squad to win Champions league then there is squad he can use to win it again.

i think in the next transfer widom, Mbappe may leave for madrid or manchester united. the reason he stay at Psg has been defeated already. he is arm was to win Champions league with Messi effect. but since he could not achieve this season , he has to think twice.
Two big clubs are playing, one between them must loss because it is no more a group stage.

Bayern won in away match, you know what that means, for a club that are not that visiting your club to win you at your own home, that alone will make people to think that PSG is not having any chance again, but because of Mbappe, people thought things would turn around to favour PSG, Bayern just prove to them that it is not good for a club to lose the chance of home win in Champions League.

It is not a shame on PSG, one club must lose, they are both big clubs but Bayern proved to be better.
2310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A remark on casino bonuses on: March 09, 2023, 07:13:56 AM
Enticing promo banners but tncs that make these promos largely useless and these tncs aren't obvious from looking at banners. Upon click they redirect you to login/registration page whereas I feel click on to banner should redirect user to that particular promo's tnc.
You want to get bonus or any other promotional offer but you do not want to register on the casino? How can that be possible? Gambling sites are using promotional offers to advertise their sites and the kind of service they are providing. If after you have known about the promo and you just want to get offer without registering on the site, that is not possible, you have to register before you will be able to get any promotional offer, also knowing they you have to read the casino's terms and conditions.
2311  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Another sim swap scam on: March 08, 2023, 01:25:59 PM
It's definitely the users responsibility to secure their account but CB could do better when it comes to getting people off SMS 2FA. At the very least, it should be tagged as weak (or something similar) and not "moderately secure" as this could make people complacent. I'm not sure if this has been changed but when you sign up, there's a step called 2fa but you can only setup SMS 2fa...
Sim authentication is the worst that we know of. The best are 2FA and password, but I have only noticed password (that users can set) on Kucoin, but maybe probably on Binance which I have not set before which was adviced while making fiat transaction on Binance. These are the two best that exchanges need to let users know and enabling the two is perfect. You are not wrong, there should be something like a disturbance notification which can make people to set 2FA instead, but most exchanges are not doing that. But I am always surprised that people can be comfortable without 2FA setup, as for me, I can not be comfortable unless I set it, even as I have only trading funds on the exchanges.

First and foremost he should blame himself for that because who in the right mind stores 90% of the life savings on the exchange and 2nd, how exactly is that Coinbase fault that he got sim swapped? Anyway, good luck to him with the lawsuit.
I accept this because you are also right, I am still also wondering that people that are not traders are leaving money on exchanges, this is where I saw the report but which is a survey though:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/89-still-trust-centralized-custodians-despite-2022-s-collapses-survey

What I have noticed is that people can never learn or change, or maybe they do not know the right thing to do by not knowing how not secure exchanges are and how they do not have control over their assets, that exchanges are the ones that have the control and doing it on their behalf.
2312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertisements: A big trigger to gambling addiction. on: March 08, 2023, 11:39:38 AM
*How does someone who intends to stop gambling control these ads or stop them from popping up or seeing it on tv?
There are many media that gambling ads are passed to people, in my locality, when I click on YouTube comedy videos, you will see the comedians advertising gambling sites, which means probably they are paid to do so or they use the opportunity to tell people to use their promo code to register and get 100% instant bonus. Anytime you watch on such videos, there is no way you will not be exposed to that kind of advertisements, unless the government of the country warns people not to advertise gambling companies that way.

Another one are on TV channels. Like 5 years ago, I was annoyed to see the most known gambling site on many TV channels advertising the gambling site. Not only that, also that the most popular reality show in my country is also advertising the gambling site. I do not know what you can do about that, but for children, you can use parental care so that your children will not be able to watch such channels as it would require pin which you will not tell them.

As for the gambling sites that do pop up while browser, you can use ublock origin to block it. There are many browsers with built-in ad blockers today too. Only what you just have to do is to block ads which is also good against malware and many types of scam.

Even on this sites, if you are an addict and going through self-exclusion and rehabilitation program, you can at that time disable ads and signature campaign ads on this forum as well.
2313  Economy / Exchanges / Another sim swap scam on: March 08, 2023, 08:25:08 AM
Sim swap attack is not new but people are still getting scammed because of it. See Jared Ferguson that filed a lawsuit against Coinbase, likely he can not win. Coinbase encourage their customers to use 2FA app.

The crypto community is debating whether SMS two-factor authentication (2FA) should ever be used for account security following news that a Coinbase customer is suing the cryptocurrency exchange for $96,000.

On Mar. 6 Jared Ferguson filed a lawsuit against Coinbase in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, claiming he lost “90% of his life savings” after funds were withdrawn from his account by identity thieves and Coinbase had refused to reimburse him.

Ferguson is said to have fallen prey to a type of identity theft known as “sim-swapping,” which allows fraudsters to gain control of a phone number by tricking the telecom provider into linking the number to their own sim card.

This type of scam has happened several times without number but still people are just adamant until they are attacked. 2FA apps are free applications.

How can I prevent a phone-based attack?
To help protect your Coinbase account from this type of attack, we highly recommend using a stronger form of 2-step verification, such as Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) with a security key or Time-based One Time Password (TOTP) with a mobile authenticator app like Duo or Google Authenticator. Learn more about keeping your Coinbase account secure.

Even if many Coinbase and other platform users read this, they will not be bothered by it. You can see a report recently that said that over 89% of US are using centralized platforms like banks and exchanges for their crypto holdings? People are people, they do not want to learn until they are scammed, or their account or wallet is hacked.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/89-still-trust-centralized-custodians-despite-2022-s-collapses-survey

If you are not trading, get your coins out of exchanges and other centralized platforms, use a noncustodial wallet that you have control over and be careful of scammers and other attackers, be careful of malware. But if you are a crypto trader, secure the money you have on the exchange or other centralized platforms with 2FA app, the 2FA app should be on another device.
2314  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 08, 2023, 07:19:01 AM
You know how risky that is, it is very risky.  Are the trading site accepting under 18 years? Including those like Kucoin that do not require KYC? I have not checked that out before to know if under 18 people can use those centralized exchanges, but there are decentralized option too.

Do not encourage him, but if he continues to seek for your help, first start with all the disadvantages of trading, there are real life cases of people that have lost millions to trading and regretted about it, you need to show him all these to let him know where to start and what to avoid.

After he knows about that, you can teach him, I know risk management is another topic you will teach him to let him know how to manage his risk and about what to avoid financially also.
2315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 08, 2023, 06:45:16 AM
Today morning received the weeks payment. I had the payment of the previous week. Altogether it was around 0.0055 in the wallet. The first bet was planned to be 0.0005BTC. Instead of placing 0.0005BTC, I misplaced 0.005BTC and the bet was lost. This was completely unexpected and it is my fault. If the bet have won my wallet balance could've turned 0.007BTC, now it is an empty wallet.
Since I have been placing bet on my own, I have not made this mistake before, probably because I am sensitive to anything related to money and I do not use it as a joke but I am serious with it. It is a mistake some gamblers can make, but one lesson like yours will teach them a lesson not to repeat the mistake. Sorry for the loss, continue to post good and get payment again. Gamble responsibly.

2317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if a change in people's views? on: March 07, 2023, 11:42:44 PM
what are your thoughts on what if the majority of the population all of a sudden sold all their fiat and put it into a crypto? like BTC, do u think the system or part of the traditional finance system see some type of impact/disruption?
That is never possible, if that is what would likely happen, the government would have felt the pressure and ban bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies if that would be the only way that they can protect their fiat. But people do not have that kind of mindset, cryptocurrencies are not having stable price and they are volatile, stable coins that are most reliable depend on fiat while many people will always have a reason to have fiat. Most businesses in the world are using fiat and they are growing, but I understand that keeping fiat in bank or holding it is just a way to make your wealth to be deplete in value.

That's a dream that can only done in a dream. Why would you thought something like that when bitcoin cannot replace fiat in any aspect of monetary system and matter of fact. Yeah, we are so called "bitcoiner" here, but don't be so delusional. Such thing wont come true.
You are very correct, bitcoin was not created to replace fiat but rather to serve as an alternative. Bitcoin to most people today is for investment purposes.
2318  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 07, 2023, 11:27:09 PM
Just first know that it is not late to start. Did you know that less than 10% of the people in the world have yet invested in crypto, not even yet close to 10%. Also even if the adoption has been so much, the adoption will still continue.

You created this in the trading discussion, but you should know that trading can make things to go ugly for you. If you eventually go into crypto trading, you have to always keep in my that you should start with the amount of money that you can afford to lose. It would even be better if you use less than the amount you can afford to lose until you make profit from it for months. But my dvise is that you should just not trade but learn more about investment.

To start, learn about bitcoin, learn about bitcoin halving and how it is having effect on crypto prices. To not make things complicated for you, you can start with reading bitcoin for beginners, like this ones:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/cointelegraph.com/bitcoin-for-beginners/amp

For news, you can check Cointelegraph or Coindesk for it. There are many other news sites. You can browser about it.
For price app, you can go for Coingecko which is better, or go for Coinmarketcap, but I will not recommend the later because Binance owned it. I will not recommend what is more centralized that Binance can manipulate for the progress of their exchange, Binance.

You should try and check the price of coins after bitcoin halves, first and second year after of bullish trend, which will follow third year of bearish trend, and fourth year of bullish and bearish trend.

Invest in bitcoin. But altcoins are more volatile and if they have fallen so much, you can gamble with good ones among them, going for the ones with high marketcap. But know that altcoins are not decentralized like bitcoin and their can be more manipulations.
2319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: where the losed money goes? on: March 07, 2023, 03:07:56 PM
and the question that the losed money will go to other player's pocket who wins big but the winning players are very less,
i think many are losing in gambling and the casino sites are hugely profiting from us ,
It is as simple as if you win, gambling site will take the money from those that lost, and if you lose, the gambling site will take the money that you lost and use it to pay those that won. But the truth is that most gamblers lose than win, because of that, gambling site pocket the remaining and grow bigger and have enough to pay if anyone win big later in the future.
2320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 07, 2023, 07:48:52 AM
Based on what Chelsea displayed in their last match to defeated their opponent 1-0 to achieved three points, showed that they will definitely achieve victory from Leicester city because they will do everything possible within their power to avoid anything that will make the match end up draw 1-1. I don't think, Chelsea defenders can stop Leicester city strikers not to score goal from this match, but it will be difficult for them to achieve victory at the end of the match because Chelsea players are well organized to win their remaining matches to make their coach and their fans happy again .
You need to think about this very well before you should conclude that Chelsea would win Leicester City. Come let us think about it, which club did Chelsea defeated last? It was Leeds United that is fighting not to get relegated. Leicester City is also not good in this season, but the match between Chelsea and Leeds was in Stamford Bridge which could have gave Chelsea more chance to win, but Chelsea hardly won because it has only just 1 goal scored by Wesley Fofana. This time around the match would be played at King Power Stadium, not at Chelsea's home, this would make it more difficult for Chelsea is what I could think. In this type of match, it is better to just go for no club to win among them both, I can never yet still have confidence in Chelsea because they are not playing as expected.
