23061  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how long CEX.io is gonna be down? on: October 27, 2014, 11:54:41 AM
yer i wonder why they are down, what problems are they having more information from them would be good..

ghash.io is working for me tho... still shows all my miners are working.
i checked it now and it is working ok again
i didn't find any explanation though!
23062  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: i wanna download electrum (HELP!) on: October 27, 2014, 08:57:50 AM
Windows installer version, its the best option!

Not necessarily. It depends on how you want to use the program.
The portable version is as safe as the installer if you use it right (don't use it on insecure machine!).
well this is an old post of mine which was brought up by the previous post.
i installed it 15 days ago and i created this post back then to know the difference between each of those link.
so far no one helped me understand the difference Sad
23063  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how long CEX.io is gonna be down? on: October 27, 2014, 08:02:59 AM
well, it's a shame. i was just introduced with CEX.IO
i don't know anything about their support and payments and stuff but i liked the site. i wish it comes back.
good thing i didn't have much in it.

is there any other site like this? and is it better or same or worse?
23064  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: There is an epic blockchain.info theft method out there on: October 27, 2014, 05:35:08 AM
with a quick search you realize that securing your bitcoins is not that hard!
2 simple tasks:
1. activate 2 Factor Authentication on your accounts or create offline transaction and send them on a different online machine
2. do not use TOR
23065  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btc faucets not paying this week? on: October 27, 2014, 05:25:19 AM
hello and welcome. i don't think coinbox will ever pay you. i reached the minimum payment long long ago. and about microwallet if you look at the bottom of the page it says you will get payed in "7" days it took them around 5-6 days to pay me this last time
23066  Economy / Service Discussion / how long CEX.io is gonna be down? on: October 27, 2014, 05:21:30 AM
it's been more than 10hr that https://cex.io/ is down
it says:
"The server is down for scheduled maintenance."
does anyone know how long it is gonna be this way?
did they announce it? cause i didn't see anything before
23067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which of these bitcoin units do you NOT want to use? on: October 27, 2014, 05:16:34 AM
i'm ok with using all of those but for smaller amounts i preffer using satoshies instead of uBTC. it is easier for me but for bigger amounts i prefer BTC like 0.002 BTC
23068  Economy / Speculation / Re: WTF Price? Big move in a short time. BTC Whale is here again...(for buying) on: October 26, 2014, 01:23:36 PM
i saw this too. i didn't believe it at first. if you go to http://www.coindesk.com/price/ you can still see the plateau at 400 from 9:20 to 12:20
http://www.coindesk.com/price/#2014-10-26,2014-10-26,close,bpi,USD
but there is nothing in other exchangers it is still on 350$ish

p.s. all hopes vanished Sad
23069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin "to the moon" NO! on: October 26, 2014, 07:00:51 AM
i don't thing any altcoin that is created so far will ever "replace" Bitcoin. but it is possible IMO that someday some revolution in cryptocurency happens and a new coin will replace it. anyway i think Dogecoin will stay and go up in price since you hear some big news like Paypal accepting Doge and also you see accepting Doge here and there like twitch.tv
23070  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling Bitcoins Process Question on: October 26, 2014, 06:32:47 AM
the important thing to keep in mind is "always invest what you can lose"
in my experience you can only hope that the price will skyrocket again and reach amounts more than 1K$, nothing is certain a quick search shows that mostly it is believed that the price of bitcoin is headed that way though
and also for keeping large amounts of bitcoin, first you have to learn how to secure it. search for cold storage.
and to answer your question about exchangers i use BTC-e and Cex.io, i found them suitable for myself
and i bookmarked this thopic for myself and found it useful, its been going on for a while hope it helps

23071  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question regarding a faucet, payouts and dust on: October 25, 2014, 05:17:06 PM
first i suggest you create a poll on this, this way you get better results (IMO)
and to answer your question i think the combination is better, pay the ones who reached the limit and pay them in batches thats what most sites do like moonbitcoin
https://blockchain.info/tx/3443e4dd7100e941e580429f068211b1115ec54dbac10ec5a08ba0ab27bbc3b9

but the most common way that faucets use is using Microwallet api you can check it out in its site

and btw i think dust is amounts below 5600 satoshi (not sure thou)
23072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are killing Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency as a whole on: October 25, 2014, 05:02:53 PM
while i agree that Altcoins ate damaging the public view about Bitcoin i don't think they are killing it! but unfortunately they exist and are going to exist and grow like mushrooms everywhere and people are gonna lose money and a minority number are going to gain some money from this rise and falls
23073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Funny Public Notes:::: on: October 25, 2014, 04:50:18 PM
huh, i check the transactions on blockchain.info, sometimes but they are mostly with no tag and sometimes a gambling site tag but i have never seen such a funny tag Wink you made my day man
23074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity tips on: October 25, 2014, 04:43:03 PM
As Bitcoin users it is a common interest on maintain anonymity on the web.

I do have a few questions.

Is TOR enough to conceal one's identity on the web? Not the Deepweb, but on Bitcointalk
If there is an IP leak, do the administrators at Bitcointalk cooperate with efforts to distribute personal information of Bitcointalk users to ISPs?

i suggest you do NOT use TOR, or anything like that unless you absolutely know what you are doing and how to protect yourself.
in my experience i saw a lot of people lose their bitcoins in this way. do a quick search on the web about losing bitcoins and using TOR.
here is an example i came across a couple of days before:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2k38ta/my_wallet_was_just_emptied_stolen_but_i_dont_know

also it is good to take a look at this article:

23075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is there anything called browser mining?! on: October 24, 2014, 08:26:39 PM
I'm not really sure browser mining is work well, never try pandacoin, but I have tried browser mining to btc from bitcoinplus, and my coin never increase even 1 satoshi.
Try by yourself and you will know.
do you have any idea how it works? i checked both my cpu and gpu activities, but there were nothing unusual. or anything more than it should be.
i think maybe its a wrong section for my post, maybe i should post it in "Technical Support" or "Development & Technical Discussion" cause i want to know its mechanics for my curousity, thats all
23076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DOGECOIN FAUCETS LIST - FIRST DOGECOIN FAUCETS ROTATOR on: October 24, 2014, 05:52:18 PM

23077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is there anything called browser mining?! on: October 24, 2014, 05:36:17 PM
Be careful of web based programs. Many have been created as malware.
you don't seem to download anything, and also i have a good and updated antivirus and also checked with this site
https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/24e27ad0f724efb43a76107101ab62617b5108fc724b3e0f36fefe887b54b6c4/analysis/1414172052/

besides i was just curious to know how this works, that's all
if anyone knows or has any link for me to read about it i would appreciate it
23078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / is there anything called browser mining?! on: October 24, 2014, 05:30:11 PM
as the topic says:
is there anything called browser mining?! i mean you open a web page in your browser and it starts mining coins for you?
the reason i am asking this is because i was searching about altcoins and i came across pandacoin and in its official website there is browser mining!
here is the link to take a look:
http://pandacoinpnd.org/pandacoin-browser-miner/

how does this worK?  Huh
23079  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Cryptome] Bitcoin and Tor is not a good idea on: October 24, 2014, 05:22:36 PM
i have started with bitcoin over a month ago and in this one month i have seen 4-5 posts about people losing their hard earned bitcoins because of using TOR. i just read a new post yesterday on reddit about a guy who lost 1.3 btc, and he was using TOR and worst of all he didn't have 2FA enabled!
23080  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: (Ask?) Hashprofit on: October 24, 2014, 04:10:25 PM
i registered yesterday and closed the page as soon as my profile page came up because of this:
At this time your account is not activated, payouts are off.
You can activate it in one of these ways:
buy any amount of Kh/s (minimal order is 0.02 BTC)
earn 5 Kh/s or more by participating in partnership program

well this is the most suspicious thing i've heard recently, they real you in with free hash and ask you for money or more victims!
