the funniest one is the site (which i am not gonna post its link) that claimes to give 10X of your bitcoins. something like give 0.1 and get 1 ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) you can see it's ads everywhere especially in PTC sites

|
|
you can install windows and run linux from CD or DVD or any removeable disk like usb flash (easily) and as torusJKL said, i suggest you give Virtualbox a try it is so cool

so far no one helped me understand the difference ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) With the installer version, the program will be installed on your pc (by default in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electrum), and the program will create a data dir on your pc (by default in \Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Local\Electrum) to store your wallet file and a few other files. With the standalone version, the program will not be installed on your pc, but the program will still create a data dir on your pc (by default in \Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Local\Electrum). With the portable version, the program will not be installed on your pc, and the program will create the data dir in the same place you put your electrum-1.9.8-portable.exe. thanks a lot, can i ask what is the point of standalone version?

yer i wonder why they are down, what problems are they having more information from them would be good..
ghash.io is working for me tho... still shows all my miners are working.
i checked it now and it is working ok again i didn't find any explanation though!

Windows installer version, its the best option!
Not necessarily. It depends on how you want to use the program. The portable version is as safe as the installer if you use it right (don't use it on insecure machine!). well this is an old post of mine which was brought up by the previous post. i installed it 15 days ago and i created this post back then to know the difference between each of those link. so far no one helped me understand the difference ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

well, it's a shame. i was just introduced with CEX.IO i don't know anything about their support and payments and stuff but i liked the site. i wish it comes back. good thing i didn't have much in it.
is there any other site like this? and is it better or same or worse?

with a quick search you realize that securing your bitcoins is not that hard! 2 simple tasks: 1. activate 2 Factor Authentication on your accounts or create offline transaction and send them on a different online machine 2. do not use TOR

hello and welcome. i don't think coinbox will ever pay you. i reached the minimum payment long long ago. and about microwallet if you look at the bottom of the page it says you will get payed in "7" days it took them around 5-6 days to pay me this last time

it's been more than 10hr that https://cex.io/ is down it says: "The server is down for scheduled maintenance." does anyone know how long it is gonna be this way? did they announce it? cause i didn't see anything before

i'm ok with using all of those but for smaller amounts i preffer using satoshies instead of uBTC. it is easier for me but for bigger amounts i prefer BTC like 0.002 BTC

i don't thing any altcoin that is created so far will ever "replace" Bitcoin. but it is possible IMO that someday some revolution in cryptocurency happens and a new coin will replace it. anyway i think Dogecoin will stay and go up in price since you hear some big news like Paypal accepting Doge and also you see accepting Doge here and there like twitch.tv
|
|
|
the important thing to keep in mind is "always invest what you can lose" in my experience you can only hope that the price will skyrocket again and reach amounts more than 1K$, nothing is certain a quick search shows that mostly it is believed that the price of bitcoin is headed that way though and also for keeping large amounts of bitcoin, first you have to learn how to secure it. search for cold storage. and to answer your question about exchangers i use BTC-e and Cex.io, i found them suitable for myself and i bookmarked this thopic for myself and found it useful, its been going on for a while hope it helps https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576887.0

first i suggest you create a poll on this, this way you get better results (IMO) and to answer your question i think the combination is better, pay the ones who reached the limit and pay them in batches thats what most sites do like moonbitcoin https://blockchain.info/tx/3443e4dd7100e941e580429f068211b1115ec54dbac10ec5a08ba0ab27bbc3b9but the most common way that faucets use is using Microwallet api you can check it out in its site and btw i think dust is amounts below 5600 satoshi (not sure thou)

while i agree that Altcoins ate damaging the public view about Bitcoin i don't think they are killing it! but unfortunately they exist and are going to exist and grow like mushrooms everywhere and people are gonna lose money and a minority number are going to gain some money from this rise and falls
|
|
|
huh, i check the transactions on blockchain.info, sometimes but they are mostly with no tag and sometimes a gambling site tag but i have never seen such a funny tag ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) you made my day man
