IPO completed in 13 seconds must be a record

Of course this is completely unofficial, but here is a spreadsheet that shows probable share winners.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YuV1ElpYHmSUMePN-uY04JK7-CB5wvaHy1DgCAaj_Do/edit?usp=sharing

3750 shares in 49 seconds.

I thought the minimum was 100 shares?

edit: its 50 minimum

i'm serious we need to get both danny brewsters' IDs

what are the odds of some random Cypriot weirdo taking up dead Danny Brewster's mantle versus an actual second Danny Brewster coming in and establishing himself as a cypriot banker after the first Danny Brewster got himself killed in a street battle?

The odds are literally zero.

Sweet got another excuse-gram from hashlast:

Quote
Spring Shipping Updates, Evo Upgrade Offer and MPP Details

Dear completely screwed sucker

First, thank you very much for being a HashFast supporter.

We are grateful for all of you who chose to participate in the Bitcoin mining community by choosing our products. We want to thank you for standing behind us over the past few months, and have no doubt that our shipping delays have caused you frustration.  As a fledgling start-up, we have gained a great deal of experience in supply-chain management that, going forward, will absolutely help us better server our customers.
Shipping Updates
•   We have finished shipping Batch-1, and we are currently working through Batch-2 which is anticipated to be complete in April, 2014.
•   Batch-3 shipments are anticipated be complete in May, 2014, and Batch-4 in June, 2014.
•   All Evo Batch-1 orders are still on-track for April, 2014, and Evo Batch-2 for May, 2014.
Options to Upgrade to Evo
Please note that Evo batches are not only manufactured faster than our first-generation boards, but are also built at a manufacturing facility separate from our first-gen Batch-2, 3, and 4 orders. And because we are able to produce Evo boards quicker, we would like to offer an upgrade to your order at no additional cost, with shipments beginning in late May, 2014.
•   For every 400 GH/s Baby Jet ordered, we will send you our Yoli Evo Mining Board as well as a power supply and liquid cooling system. This will get you hashing up to 800 GH/s, in an open configuration without the chassis (just bring your own controller).
•   For every 400 GH/s Baby Jet Upgrade Kit, we will send you a Yoli Evo Mining Board.
•   For each 1.2 TH/s Sierra ordered, we are offering to upgrade your order to a Sierra Evo Kit capable of up to 2.0 TH/s, composed of three Yoli Evo Mining Boards, chassis and three liquid coolers (just bring your own power supplies).
If you wish to take advantage of any of these upgrade conversions, please reply to this email with your original order number(s) and further instructions will be provided.
Miner Protection Plan (MPP)
We will be shipping MPP after we have finished shipping to our Batch-2, Batch-3 and Batch-4 customers. It will consist of Yoli Evo Mining Boards and exceed the 4X capacity promise of 1.6 TH/s of mining performance. We expect to start shipping MPP in June, 2014.
In Conclusion... We deeply appreciate your patience as we work through fulfilling all orders in our supply chain, and we hope these upgrade conversion options will provide a great way for you to be mining sooner than later — and faster!
Thank You,
The HashFast Team

WTF happened to end of March?!? As an "UPGRADE" I get to get in the back of the line behind b1 Evo orders placed months later...despite ordering in Sept. of 2013?!? Some kind of appreciation for standing behind them! Huh

What a bunch of a-holes. Now they claim they'll ship my b2 order by end of april(FIVE MONTHS LATE), but don't worry you evo guys will get your orders at the same time. Roll Eyes

Never never ever dealing with another us manufacturer. They're all scammers and bs artists.

Do they even read their own stupid-grams?!?

So in 3 months of "shipping" hashfast was able to ship out a whopping 550 units

That equates to 6 whole units shipping per day.

Is this a 1 man operation or what?

And instead of automatically upgrading their faulty boards to evos they make you get in line again unless you want to keep your spot in the slow line for slow hardware.

P.S.: SUGGESTION TO BA I imagine there would be a lot less complaining and refunds request if BA just stepped up the plate and gave us our cloud hashing compensation Now @ GH rate we ordered till we actually have product shipped.

Impossible to do without the hardware. They said they had something like 8TH worth of bitfuries and a few hundred TH worth of prospero orders.
2326  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitBet Stole ~$7,000 from me (10 BTC) on: March 26, 2014, 02:47:12 AM
The legit thing to do would be to not allow people to place bets with unconfirmed transactions. Not hard.

How exactly?

Do you not know how to return bitcoins? You surely know how the bitcoin protocol works and how to steal them.
2327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 26, 2014, 02:43:22 AM

I have no belief regarding Mr. Popescu's argument or what you believe his argument to be. Like the SEC, I do have opinions, but they may not be relevant to Mr. Popescu's matters. Nor would I presume to speak for him, since he can clearly speak for himself, and because I have no business with him.

You are aware that this is a discussion forum right? Where we discuss topics at hand. Like the legality of this unregistered exchange.

Quote
I do wonder why, however, if it is all so clear and defined, then why the SEC hasn't already caused him to be charged? Professional courtesy? Politesse? Navel-gazing? .

Do you have any knowledge of what you are talking about? Has the SEC ever investigated and shut down scams in a reasonable timeframe before?

Quote
And surely they wouldn't resort to shilling to persuade opinion on an internet discussion forum

Ah, I do love the tactic of throwing around accusations of shilling to avoid any sort of critical thinking.

As if the SEC had anything to gain by persuading armchair legal advisors/investors that what they are doing is not legal.
2328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 26, 2014, 01:48:33 AM
I love it how the IRS flat out says you need to pay taxes on bitcoin gains and follow existing tax laws and mpoe pr interprets this as "feel free to do whatever you want with bitcoin"

I don't actually think mr popescu is that ignorant but he knows that his "customers" are ignorant enough to believe it.

Strong everything.

Makes me wonder why I studied so hard for the Series 65 examine.

I especially like the part of this thread in which some people are so concerned about non-US citizens and companies groveling, supplicating, and prostrating themselves before Uncle Sam all that they may pay for a taste of US-grade government cheese.

So you are telling me bitbet.us and satoshidice are not US companies serving US customers?

Too many bitcoiners living in fantasy land.

Of course they are. What are you arguing?

I want to know if you actually believe mr popescus argument which was essentially:

- bitcoin securities cannot be enforced by existing laws because bitcoin does not qualify as money

2330  Economy / Securities / Re: ROCKMINER - miners using GEN3 ASICMINER chips on: March 26, 2014, 01:34:08 AM

so you understand he did not pay for his shares right?

im starting to see how this sort of operation can sell stock quickly...

Did friedcat pay for his shares?

Yes, with his design work. He more than paid for his shares. Also he paid out fully to all investors first before taking a dime! Something this operation will not do.

Also friedcat and his team only took about $30,000 worth of IPO shares, these guys are asking for $4,000,000

What friedcat did was worth more than $30,000, will these guys be able to do $4,000,000 worth of work?   Some people are clearly hoping yes...

One could say rockxie earned his shares by running a (presumably) successful business selling AM hardware.

I won't argue that this is the best deal because I have no way of evaluating a fair price.

But for those willing to take a gamble it could be worth it.

For example we know that FC plans to move towards pure chip distribution so there will need to be some companies like rockminer building/selling asics.

If FC can really sell 1600PH worth of gen3 that would earn around 1 million bitcoins (assuming chips profit $0.5/gh) so that leaves a ton of room for a company like rockminer to earn 1.5k btc.
2331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 26, 2014, 01:19:18 AM
Stop attempting to redefine the parameters of the debate.
The issue at hand is moreover about under whose authority, the claims and supposed legitimacy upon which this alleged authority is based, and the philosophical underpinnings of such authority as regards bitcoin, its sovereignty, and the freedom one has to engage in agreements with others—not just about which medium of exchange one uses. For reference, I invite you to examine the US Securities Acts and subsequent legislation, a map of the world, and an intro to philosophy textbook.

I invite you to read this article and report back on whether you think that the SEC has authority over bitcoin securities:

Cant believe people are bitching over the safety of the way there tools are placed, wtf is that all about
This company could become number 1 in the asic market, the potential is there..

ESD is serious shit  Grin
There´s rules and standards to follow if you work with electronics and components.
(If you´re a serious business you follow them to minimize risk/RMA cost).

There´s a reason why engineers/operators wears, almost, spacesuits when working with wafers etc  Roll Eyes , but hey never mind they can wear jeans, right?

What has that got todo with anything,at the end of the day if they have accidents or problems its there own fault, there task is to provide bitcoin mining machines, what happens behind closed doors is there buissness.

Sir, i suggest you study on how ESD works and what kind of damages it can make.
Then you will change your view, i promise.

Just let this sink in, last year a single Apple Service Partner spent 14K USD / Month in just ESD safe cleaning products for ESD carpets... You think a huge company like Apple do this for fun? No, it´s because it´s necessary to guarantee a working product. Like i said, ESD damages is serious shit and not something to "look above or beyond".

Spondoolies seem to have no problem design, manufacturing, and selling working hardware on their own so I would guess they know what they are doing.

I don't even think I've heard of a single faulty SP miner.
2335  Economy / Securities / Re: ROCKMINER - miners using GEN3 ASICMINER chips on: March 26, 2014, 01:06:35 AM
Nobody is getting 60k shares free. Those are owned by rockxie & company.

And I don't think anyone can invest anyway since all 15k public  shares were bought pre-ipo apparently.

if rockcie did not get them for free, what did he pay for them? so far nothing has been disclosed. If they put in .1 btc each for their shares please link me to the btc address.

Rockxie owns the company he doesn't need to get them from anyone.

I can't understand why people are thinking investing in this is a good idea.
The fact is that this company cannot succeed unless AM has already succeeded. Therefore by buying into this company instead of AM directly gives you two degrees for risk of failure. It would appear that the two companies being so related, with one depending on the other, my money would most obviously be placed on the company that the other depends on, who and has a proven track record and is already sitting on great profits if they were to succeed. I barely see any solid reasons in why this company is a better investment then AM. Where the fuck did these people even come from? Why are you people so eager to throw your money at them??

Why does everyone assume this is some random company that just now decided to make a few AM gen3 miners.

We are talking about a company with a proven track record of selling AM hardware asking for funds to ramp up production and start a solomining farm which is totally reasonable.

Fact is that both AM and rockxie have succeeded mutually in the past and there is no reason they cant do it again in the future.

Ofcourse it rockxie succeeds then AM will get a cut of the profits but that does not mean that rockxie cannot possibly earn more.

because they sold a made product in the past means they are able to make boards and manage a mining company? and that unproven skill is worth $4,000,000?

It doesn't "prove" anything just like how history does not prove the future but it still gives us a good idea.

Of course there will be FUD until they begin shipping hardware.
2338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interacting with fiat institutions [such as the SEC], a guide on: March 26, 2014, 12:54:35 AM
And MP if you think you are the most significant innovator in this space, get prepared to unexpectedly kneel.

It's about time we stop pretending that using funny money makes us immune to all existing laws as the people making those laws seem to think they still apply.

Are you trying to argue that Bitcoin is just monopoly money(I'm sure everyone here will takes issues with that )

The IRS got in line today, following MP's judgment on the matter in 2012. Had you simply parroted him instead of pretending like you can think for yourselves, you could still be pretending like you know what you're talking about, instead of squirming like bugs squished under a lulzmine cave-in.

Seriously when will you step out of fantasy land?

Bitcoin being classified as property does not in any way make you immune to security laws.

As has been pointed out before, you can trade stocks using oranges, mail orders, monopoly money and you will still get slammed by the SEC.

Quit bullshitting and leave this forum for good. Nobody here buys your shit.

Question to the community:
For SP30 it's too late (we're too deep into the design) but for future miners, is LCD with Hashrate / Temperature / IP / other status desirable ?
If so, what data to display ?

Network triggerable "identify unit" LED
Power LED
Status LED: Green = mining, Red = not mining

If LCD screen is implemented then:
IP address
Temperature
Hashrate

I like the LED indicator idea better than an lcd display. A full display just seems overkill and expensive.

In addition to a red and green LED maybe an orange one for when it is hashing but not optimally.
