2324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Tube Setup [HD] on: March 18, 2015, 06:19:48 PM
Anyone tried overclocking these? What were your results?

Anything past 300 clock speed is strongly not recommended, and 300 requires a proper PSU.

I agree, I was running mine on a Corsair RM1000 @ 290 and getting about 850GH/s. At 300 it would reach 900GH/s but the psu would cut out after a short while because its pulling over 1000w.

You'd probably want a good quality 1200w+ to run @ 300 but I'm not sure if the extra GH is worth the extra power consumption and more expensive psu.

To his/her defense, bitcointalk makes it FAR too easy to scam people by allowing such nicks to exist (with special characters).  ` and ' and . shouldn't even be allowed as part of the username.  And, once it is obvious as it is, the scammer/squatter nick should simply be blocked from use.

Agree 100%.

I would suggest taking another photo that shows your forum username and the date in shot and accept escrow as you're a newbie.
2327  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 29 blocks solved! on: March 17, 2015, 01:25:10 AM
Problem is with renting hash is that on miningrigrentals the biggest rig is 560TH @ 0.00001269btc / GH which costs 7.1btc for 24 hours.

On coinwarz it calculates that with 560TH it will take 4.21 days to find a block on average - http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator/?h=560000&p=1180.00&pc=0.10&pf=0.00&d=47427554950.64830000&r=25.00000000&er=309.86000000&hc=0.00.

So to find a block in 1 day using average luck @ 0.00001269btc / GH you will need 2.35PH - http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator/?h=2350000.00&p=1180.00&pc=0.10&pf=0.00&d=47427554950.64830000&r=25.00000000&er=309.86000000&hc=0.00 which will cost 29.82btc.

Baring in mind this is with average luck, you could have good or bad just stating the figures which I think are right, please ignore the small details like watts and cost I was simply after a time scale.

Like you, I'm not sure that's a good deal. Your expected daily income at 560 Thps would be:
560e12/2^32/47427554950.64830000 * 86400 * 25 = 5.93815 btc

So you're paying 20% over expected, or can expect to earn 20% under. Most (bitcoin) gambling games have a house edge of only 1%.

Exactly! Paying for hash at top dollar for big rigs through mining rig sites is feasibly and expectably unprofitable but you have to factor luck into the equation.
2328  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 12 ASICMiner Tube 800 GH miners - 1 free controller for every 2 tubes on: March 17, 2015, 12:45:31 AM
I've been using a 12V 5A power adapter for the controller for mine something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Genuine-CWT-Technology-Monitors-equipment/dp/B004HCCVLI

However I think you can use a 1A.

I've had some real shit luck these past few weeks of life, I'm thinking I should rent some hash and point it here for a while, luck's got to turn around at some point!  Undecided

Go for it buddy and good luck Smiley, been thinking the same myself sounds like I'm in the same situation.

Just noticed and curious what is IPV6 mining as mentioned in your OP?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv6

Thanks, has it made any difference?
It makes no difference. It only provides another way to connect to the pool if you have an IPV6 capable system and are connected via IPV6 in some way to the internet instead of the regular IP address which is IPV4.

Ok thank you I understand now Smiley.

Hi all, why PPC no payout? Angry

Peercoin blocks take a few days to confirm.
2337  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miners on gas or exercise? on: March 14, 2015, 10:49:04 PM
miners that takes energy from physical exercise? i don't think it's possible....you need a very big amount of energy, you cannot do it with a bike.
if you're interested in finding a way to mine some coin from physical activities you should check out Mangocoinz!

I'll show you guys what I mean when it's done... It's not running the miner directly from it.

It's storing power in a battery bank for later then switching back to your home electricity.

Or just chipping off cash from your monthly home electric bill.

There's no way you can do this from pedal power it's impossible.
2338  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miners on gas or exercise? on: March 14, 2015, 10:28:10 PM
You must be joking thinking you can run a miner from pedal power surely Huh.

You would be dead before you made 0.01btc.

As for gas I don't know but I'm sure if it were possible it would've been done by now.

Better off sticking to whats known and that's cheap or free electricity and efficient miners.
