2321  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 31, 2022, 07:57:40 PM
If you are guided by the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then they usually reflect the real state of affairs with a delay of 2-3 days. I specifically referred to a report by a civilian correspondent for Russian television who does not work on the front lines. Severodonetsk has been taken, a cleansing operation is underway in the city, the remnants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been forced out into the industrial zone and are deprived of the opportunity to leave for Lisichansk - all bridges have been destroyed or are under full fire control of Russia.
Nope, I used ISW report and this map
https://deepstatemap.live/en#6/52.650/38.639
And correct me if I'm wrong, but russian defense ministry haven't announced that city is under their control.

Do not dramatize, you do not have enough good reason to accuse Russia of genocide in Ukraine. Rather, Ukraine can be accused of genocide of the Russian-speaking and pro-Russian population for regular shelling of civilians with artillery. And your personal support for Ukraine reeks of justifying Nazism.
Oh shit, here we go again...

I dont know. I dont understand the whole purpose of this war. My position is that they should have negotiated everything behind round table. Putin used to visit Ukraine frequently to before Zelensky presidentship. Zelensky never visit Kremlin. I find it strange that neighbors never really had a talk, but rather meet on independent territory with bunch of intermediaries. I am not saying that one of them is bad and other is good. Both are bad, because they allowed such war to happen.

I am not a war and strategy expert, but I can suppose Russian bomb the places where they are being shot at. If they were really planning to bomb, they would not be that selective and instead of dropping 10 bombs, would have dropped 1000.
Actually, Putin haven't visited Ukraine since 2013 after Crimea annexion and war in Donbas. So, it's long time before Zelensky become president. As Zelensky said multiple times, they ready to negotiate and he wanted to meet Putin, but Russia gave ultimatums only without intentions to negotiate and Putin didn't show interest to meet Zelensky. And it's lie to say that they never had meeting, one happened in 2019:
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/putin-zelensky-press-conference-russia-ukraine-prisoners-a9239656.html?amp
I'm not trying to idolize Zelensky, but saying that he both with Putin is bad is nonsense when one country is agressor and other is victim of it.
And indeed, you're not war and strategy expert.

It's shame that user like BADecker is No. 2 most posts made user on Bitcointalk. He derails almost every topic in P & S board, but he haven't done enough to get banned. His posts is usually nonsense shit, but often he post on topic, even if it's completegarbage.
Now I can't remember what situation on that board was when it had dedicated mod. Was it better?

What's up with BADecker and why is he here anyway? 96.2% of his posts belong to P&S and Off-Topic. I don't blame him for not talking about bitcoin often; it's obvious that he doesn't know what is he talking about. Also, does anybody know why he ends each post with a "Cool" smiley?

I've been wondering did he ever made post about Bitcoin and yes, he did. But I think it's good that he stick with Politics and society board and not posting nonsense in other boards. And yeah, it's interesting for me too what is purpose of this smiley in his every post.

I think we did all expect Leclerc to win, until Ferrari messed up on strategy. But Perez does seem to be improving. He would have won the last race if RB hadn't ordered him to move aside to let Max win. I assume they would have done the same again here to deny Perez again, but fortunately for him he had Sainz in the way to prevent Max getting any more undeserved gifts!
Nope, we wouldn't have won previous race. Max had fresh tyres and much bigger pace, so, even without letting Max to pass, he had no chance to keep him behind.
But yeah, I'm happy to see Perez win. Now Horner said that Perez is fighting for champion title too, but for me it's difficult to believe in his words.

Well they were right but RBR is protected by the F1, both drivers deserved a penalty for that.
And both protests were rejected.

All the time i saw Mick Schumacher crashing and destroying the poor Hass i ever think in how muchs memes and hate had received Mazepin (a few really deserved), but Mick if he dont have that surname i think he can be out of F1 with so b ad results and so many crashes, and no little ones, with the budget limited you cant detroy all the times your car man.
Good point. I'm trying to imagine what reaction would be if Mazepin would make such crashes. IMO, he is much worse driver than Mick, but I think he made less such costly crashes. Hass this season have really competetive car and if Mick won't improve his results, even his surname may not help to save his seat in F1.
2325  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 30, 2022, 07:17:41 PM
Are you sure? And than what? Add Ukrainian territory to Russian Federation? I thought the goal of this "military operation" was to protect people of LNR and DNR, and to make Ukraine to accept them as an independent republics.
If their goal is to protect these self proclaimed states and not occupy territory of Ukraine, why did occupied Kherson, part of Zaporishia oblast, why they bombing Odessa or why they tried to took Kiev?

What is actually not true, again. Fights for city is still going on.

@icopress, seems that you made mistake by not making this topic self moderated... Now it's turning into another conspiracy theories and fakes news thread of stupid trolls like BADecker, Tash and others.
2327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 21/22 - discussion thread on: May 29, 2022, 09:08:08 PM
does not happen to often, but AZ smashed Vittese in Conference league play-off, and secured their Europe spot for next season
Vittese had 2:1 from first match, but three fast goals in first half solved all for both teams, and it was 6:1 for AZ in the end

so, with Twente, AZ will represent Ere in Conference league next season, could they make something similar to Feyenoord this season? doubt
Wasn't able to watch game because of F1. It was impossible to expect such humiliating score, but in general, AZ win is expected outcome. I'm sceptical about AZ and especially Twente chances to repeat Feyenoord performance. After all, Feyenoord have much better squad than these teams. Maybe AZ can go further in playoffs, but lot of things depends on draw. Now we already have Villarreal, West Ham, Fiorentina in competition and later teams dropping from Europa league, so, Dutch clubs won't be a favorites.
2328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 IIHF World Championship. on: May 29, 2022, 08:36:13 PM
Damn, what a final! In 3rd period it already looked that silly penalty minutes will kill Canada when Finland scored 2 goals. But Canada managed to make another impressive comeback, similar like against Sweden. They scored 2 goals in the end, playing with empty net. So, game went to overtime. 3 on 3 overtime is exciting thing to watch. And then Chabot earned stupid penalty in place where it wasn't needed at all. It was key factor and Finland scored playing 4 on 3.
So, Finland won Olympics and World Championship at same year. It doesn't happens often.

3rd place game was exciting too - you won't see 8:4 score very often. USA controlled game, leading 3:1 and then 3rd period happened - Czech Republic scored 6 goals! Yeah, 2 of it to empty net, but it doesn't change anything. Czech Republic won medals after long break.
2329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: May 29, 2022, 08:10:39 PM
Only Ferrari can screw up things in such way like they did today. They had everything in their hands. It's incredible what bad luck Leclerc have at Monaco.
After this win Perez is close to Verstappen and Leclerc, just few points behind. Every driver dreams to win in Monaco and he did it. In the end his tyres almost ended, but for his fortune, it's Monaco where it's impossible to overtake.
But things still can change - Ferrari made protest about Perez and Vertappen crossing line on pit exit.
Mick Shumacher id another very expensive crash for Haas. It probably looked more scary than it actually was just because car break into two parts.
After all, I still don't understand why race has been delayed for more than hour when rain ended and basically they were waiting for track to get dry. Yeah, it's all about safet, but shortly after rain track didn't looked very wet and impossible to race.
2330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: May 29, 2022, 01:27:46 PM
After few laps behind safety car now we have red flag. Seems that rain already stopped, but I'm already getting flashbacks from Spa 2021.
2331  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 28, 2022, 11:11:34 PM
Don't want to brag much, but in my country croudfunding campaign to buy Bayraktar drone was made. And just in 3 days goal of campaign was reached with over 5 million € donated:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-05-28/lithuanians-raise-5-4-million-to-buy-combat-drone-for-ukraine
Yeah, single drone won't win war, but I think it's strong message and I'm glad to be part of it. If it will destroy some orcs, it was worth.

Negotiating with Russia does not bring peace, as simple as that. Adolf Putin only understands the language of threats and violence. He is no different from a patriarch of the rossíyskaya máfiya.
Especially when Russia isn't willing to negotiate. They only gives ultimatum for Ukraine. And even if Ukraine would agree to it, it only would delay some time until Russia will come to take another slice of Ukraine.
2332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 IIHF World Championship. 1/4 Finals on: May 28, 2022, 10:36:13 PM
Both semifinals ended not in the way that I expected. Finland won as they were favorites, but I expected easier win, USA gave good fight. Canada won against Czech Republic 6:1. IMO, result don't fully reflect the game, but Canada were way better. Before game I honestly believed that Czech is capable to win, so I'm disappointed about this game.
So, we have Finland - Canada in the final 3rd year in the row. According to bookmakers, Finland is very insignificant favorite and I'm rooting for hosts to take gold.

Btw, it wasnt mentioned here, and have you guys noticed crypto.com adverts in ringside? Crypto.com is in hockey now (IIHF and one of Montreal Canadiens sponsors), also they are FIFA 2022 Qatar sponsors, in NBA they can be found on  Philadelphia 76ers jersey patch. Also they are in UFC and if not mistaken they have roots in Formula 1.
Yeah, they already were sponsors of 2021 World Championship. You're not mistaken, they are sponsors of F1 too and in general, you can see Crypto.com and few other crypto companies ads almost in every spots, it's getting mainstream thing.
2333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: May 28, 2022, 10:02:25 PM
Don't really know what to say about the final. First thought - Thibaut Courtois is the wall and main reason why Real won final. 9 saves in his account. Liverpool dominated game and had so many chances, but at least for me, there were no such feeling that they are going to score. Don't know exactly why, but there was lack of something. Especially last minutes when they had to go all in, but all their attempts to make something dangerous were meh.
Real proves gain that Champions league is their tournament. No team feels so good in elimination tournament like Real. And Liverpool - from potential quadruple, just in one week they end with just FA and Carabao Cup.
2334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: May 28, 2022, 07:18:41 PM
So, kick-off has been delayed by 30 minutes. As I understand many LFC fans got into stadium without tickets and police used tear gas against them. Can't remember such things in such big events like CLBfinal. What is obvious, such delays isn't good for players before most important game of season.
Only problem with CL is that due to the nature of competition, group stages and then knockout rounds, person in lead after first knock out round will almost always take the title.
Yeah, I myself lost interest after group stage or 1/8 finals and no doubts that EPL pool always will be more popular because nature of tournament. But I'm sure that we can have better things than we have now.
2335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: May 28, 2022, 05:43:51 PM
I also will support Liverpool. Not because I'm Barcelona fan and I hate Real. I just want that team which played better football would win. As said above, Real played shit against City, but like it's usual for them they managed to go through loophole and reach final. And it also happened in previous seasons few times when they won Champions League.

And I know we've got plenty of time, but @hilariousandco @hilariousetc shall we plan the next season a bit early and collect fees earlier? I know sponsorship matters but as usual, I wouldn't mind putting a slightly more generous amount if there are no offers, let's say at least 12 mbtc (roughly $350 now), possibly more if Liverpool win this as I had a not-so-tiny amount on a Liverpool outright when odds were close to 9/1.

I'm definitely going to change the sponsor name as I had to give up BitcoinNews.com over a year ago =D
Agree about it. We shouldn't wait until final minute to set up pool. I really want to play in proper Champions league pool with 20+ participants and significant prize pot.
2336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 IIHF World Championship. 1/4 Finals on: May 27, 2022, 09:14:31 AM
So, we have few games which ended against our predictions. First is Switzerland. They ended group stage without defeats, but now they lost to USA, which didn't played good hockey in group.
Can't say that Canada winning after extra time against Sweden is big upset, but I didn't expected it. Canada played better, while Sweden had 5 power plays, but didn't managed to score during it.
Finland made comeback from 0:2 and won game 4:2 against Slovakia. Czech Republic had most comfortable win against Germany.
Semifinals USA - Finland and Canada - Czech Republic.
2337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 IIHF World Championship. 1/4 Finals on: May 26, 2022, 09:32:02 AM
So, today we have 1/4 finals. No doubts that most interesting game is between Sweden and Canada. I predict Sweden win there. Switzerland - USA should be interesting too - Switzerland looked more solid in group stage. Finland - Slovakia game looks most predictable. And Czech Republic - Germany. Germany are looking, but I expect that Czech will manage to win it.

It was always stated, that Canada ice hockey team and fans value Olympic games more than World Championships, because you get a champion title for 4 years, while during IIHF you have to prove that status every year. Olympic games champion is more rare achievement than Worlds Champion. Some players can even only once in their career become Olympic champ.

I still remember Olympic games final in 2014 in Sochi. Canada vs Sweden. Lundqvist, Karlsson, Doughty, Crosby, Backstrom, Price. Maybe you remember this years Olympic Games in Beijing.   That year team Canada was not the strongest, same as other teams, as due to covid NHL players skipped it.
Yeah, Olympic hockey without NHL players isn't that interesting. I remember how good these tournaments were back in 2014 or 2010 when teams had their best players.
2338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 25, 2022, 10:26:45 PM
So, now Mourinho have won all UEFA Cups - Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and former UEFA Cup. It was quite typical final of Mourinho team. Roma were slightly better, but I can't say that Feynoord didn't had their chances. Especially in start of 2nd half when after Rui Patricio save ball hit crossbar - what a shot it was.

LOL Grin Italian teams (even the major national selection) plays very often in defense after score one goal.
they slow the game, playing very slowly after each break... pretty normal for Italians team.
Such style of game was typical 10-15 years ago, but now things had changed. Serie A is far from being lowest scoring top leagues.
2339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io UEFA Nations League Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: May 25, 2022, 10:13:30 PM
Sure, why not. I am glad that the rule has changed and that we will be guessing only the main group results, I don't really track anything below A group.
You really don't want to predict outcomes of games like San Marino - Malta? Cheesy. Seriously, I think that games in League D and C is way more predictable than in League A. But if your team isn't playing there, you have to be hardcore fan to watch League D Cheesy.

My country, Turkey are in the League C currently. We have been really in a miserable condition in the recent years. Because of this, it would have been better if we had the League C too.  Grin But I still understand this as it can cause a complicated situation. The number of people in the pool is increasing day by day and we are already 11 people now. I think at least 4 more people would like to join the pool.
My country is League C, same group with Turkey and I think it describes our level very well. For Turkey there shouldn't be any problems in this group because you don't have to play against Latvia which is historically probably most difficult opponent for Turkey.

11 players already, not bad.  Cool
2340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 25, 2022, 09:37:46 AM
It's day of the final. I see that Roma is slightly favoured by bookmakers, but I don't see that they have big advantage. Mourinho have record in Cup finals, now I'm trying to remember, did he ever lost in Champions or Europa league final? Offcourse, Conference league title isn't that prestigous, but it's important for Mou to win it.
My prediction that we will see similar scenario like in Europa league final and it's likely that we will see extra time and penalties.
