2322  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: August 06, 2015, 08:10:07 PM
Definitely Bitcoin... The problem with gold is that it is manipulated and suppressed by the "powers that be".
They have no such control over Bitcoin.

I think you'll find the are bitcoin equivalents of the "powers that be" e.g exchanges and whales.

No secret that BTC price has been manipulated on a regular basis.

My new review Imperator is running amazingly well, pulling zero watts at the wall and running really cool.

On the bad side its hash rate is fluctuating between fuck all and zero and is in fact invisible, much like the scammer rikkie has been since this abortion of scam/promotion started.

Still cant work out what his angle was in this scam, think he needs to get back to his day job of licking windows at the back of the bus.

2324  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Gaw Falcon 27Mh/s Scrypt Miner on: August 06, 2015, 07:35:02 AM
I would be more concerned about sending the money to someone else without escrow.

Hope it turns out ok and you get your goods.
2325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cloudthink's New Imperator 8TH bitcoin miner. on: August 04, 2015, 07:38:07 PM
it concerns me that he has been online at least 3 times today but hasnt felt the need to make a single post to defend his position.

Not a single picture or video of any hardware.

Does not look promising  Undecided
2326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK banks' innovation render bitcoin pointless (?) on: August 04, 2015, 11:45:01 AM
UK banks now enable, with most recent IOS apps:
- moving money from bank to bank effectively instantly (no fees).
- move money to a mobile number, using Paym, bank - > mobile number www.paym.co.uk  (I think no fees)
- enable Apple pay sync (no fees)

I find it very hard to see how bitcoin can become further adopted in the UK given these and other advances. Moloch has rumbled, Moloch has delivered. Anyone disagree?

try sending money abroad and see how much that costs you.

Banks/Bankers are a bunch of thieves, the sooner you can ditch the lot of them the better.

Why the sudden interest in FPGA's?

I have noticed a few threads popping up the last few days asking for them, do they know something we dont?

A new coin about to be announced maybe with a new algorithm  Huh

2332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin Crash Gold? on: July 30, 2015, 03:40:13 PM
If anyone thinks we are about to take off and start mining asteroids any time in the near future you need a reality check.

All the gold ever mined could still fit inside an average sized 4 bedroom house, all $8.2 trillion of it now that is rare!
2333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin Crash Gold? on: July 30, 2015, 08:13:45 AM
Bitcoin can and will crash the relative value of gold. Diamonds will not be effected.

The only reason I agree is because the price of gold is 95% based on it's monetary value as a store of value. Only 5% of it's price is based on it's intrinsic value as an industrial metal used for electronics and jewelry. People will transfer their wealth into whatever they perceive to be the best monetary store of value, and that being the case, bitcoin is currently better at being a money on every single aspect than gold is. It is therefore quite possible that the wealth that is currently stored in gold based it's monetary value may be transferred to bitcoin, and gold will be left with it's 5% intrinsic value as an industrial metal and shiny object used as jewelry.

As I heard in an interview, "gold is just shiny bitcoin".  Smiley

Complete bollocks -

2334  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Story of Gold on: July 30, 2015, 07:32:45 AM
Strange why the media keeps trying to force the point to the sheeple that gold is an ancient relic and now worthless yet people in power are buying as quick as they can get their hands on it.

Russia, China are buying it by the tonne.
Countries are now repatriating their gold.
Texas is repatriating their gold from the FED.
Public gold/silver demand has gone through the roof.

I think the powers that be are currently suppressing gold price through paper gold manipulation enabling them to accumulate physical gold at rock bottom prices.

When the time comes the price of physical gold will go parabolic disconnecting from the paper gold price.
2335  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Free Electricity Acces-- BIG OPPORTUNITY on: July 28, 2015, 06:35:05 PM
Again, if anyone send you equipment they at least need to know what country they are shipping to.  At the very lest to look at shipping costs.  So I ask the question again; What country would the equipment be located in?

I dont want anybody  sending me any equipment. You would need to come over here and do your own installation. i`ll pm you the answer to your question.

What happens when technical issues occur?

Are you going to be on call 24/7 to get people's rigs back up and running because that is what they will expect!

What about cooling, a lot of rigs put out a lot of heat.  Have you got adequate aircon in place?

What kind of technical issues?? I dont know what these can be. But if given with instruction I can provide that support. I mean a suport as physical presence for lifting..reconnecting..restarting..cleaning...watever but it cannot be 24/7 as I have a full time job. I can dedicated max 3hours per day being physically present. But of course if you need a simple restart i can do it if am at home.

Cooling is up to you. You can install watever equipment you wish as long as it fits the space allocated and does not represent any danger to my family.

Think you need to have a good think about the negatives as well as positives with this idea.

What if equipment is stolen/damaged - who is liable/responsible.

Miners catching fire is not unheard of.

How much would you charge to run a very long power cable to my home in the UK, that way I can run my own gear in my own house with the benefit of free electricity.

2338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you buy physical gold? on: July 28, 2015, 04:08:59 PM

Mighty fine collection you have there! how long have you been collecting gold?

About 1 1/2 years now.

Was buying what I liked the look of, e.g old panda's etc, a couple of 100g bars but now have shifted strategy and strictly buying CGT free coins like sovs and Britannias for quick liquidation when the time comes.

I didn't know you must pay CGT on gold?

Well thats a little concerning considering you run a bullion shop and are unaware of how CGT rules apply to UK legal tender coins.

Uk legal tender coins such as Britannias, sovereigns and the UK lunar series are VAT and CGT free.  With other bullion products if you exceed your annual gains limit then CGT must be paid on the profit when sold.

If you are selling bullion I also suggest you read up on the £5k / £10k limits too or otherwise your ass will end up in jail for assisting money laundering.
