Its great to see the trade volume going up. Hats off to jonesd for all the work he is putting in. Also I have secured quarkbar.co and quarkbar.net for a year. I am willing to donate them to the community if there is someone that feels they can develope a website. If not then I can probly give it a try. Ive built some small sites in the past. Nothing major but can put something together if someone can tell me what to put on it.
Thanks! Good job! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) It's nice that you're pitching in! I have bought a domain for the Cryptocoin Revival Foundation and hosting, so possibly we can get these sites hosted there as well. Also, if you can just install wordpress, I can setup a basic site that shows all the info and looks okay (I'm no designer, but I can at least handle that. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

All funds are safe. Poloniex does use cold wallets.
What happened was an attacker used social engineering to gain root access to a wallet server. This was made possible by absolutely jaw-dropping negligence on the part of the hosting provider. Fortunately, I caught the attempt in time and was able to shut down the server before anything was taken. All BTC has been moved into cold storage, and then next step is to set up a new server with a different provider.
Please stop sending BTC to your old BTC deposit addresses. The funds will not be lost, but all new addresses must be generated, as I must assume the old wallet is compromised. It is very unlikely that it was, but "unlikely" is not good enough.
I appreciate everyone's patience while I take proper security measures before bringing the exchange back online.
Thanks For clarification because of the honesty you have ...Many trust you and a few will attempt to attack good luck ...we will wait . Thanks for the honest indeed! Good luck! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

If I am doing my math correctly I own about 1% of mined QB. So if people want to keep selling it this cheap I will keep buying it and I will be donating in the near future. I already donated 14k to a random address. Of corse that was by accident.
Keep on supporting! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Trading is up! It seems faith has been restored and people are trading the coin a lot more! Over the last couple of days it went from 80 Sat to 280 SAT! Still this is a ridiculously low price! This coin is comparable to Quark, but has one main difference: It is much more scarce! There are 25 times as many Quark as Quarkbar, while Quark trades at around 4000 SAT. This means the potential value of Quarkbar could be 100000 Sat or 0.001 BTC. This will of course take a while, but we just started! In short, buy them while they're cheap! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) cryptoaltex was me. I think I bought about 30k and have more big orders in right now. Good stuff! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Wow, it is actually up by 500%!
Maybe the DEVs are planning something?
Hashrate is also three times as high! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The hashrates are 7 MH at bitember and 10 at Multipool. It keeps creeping up!

Keep trading! I trade on both exchanges now. When more people trade it makes it more stable.
Good job! Thanks for the support! We're back!Sorry for the downtime, we had a datacenter outage. All systems are now online again and we're glad to see people mining again ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Great! Glad to have you guys back! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

What's with the huge and I do mean HUGE amount of orphans?
Where? In ebt.poolto.be it is the normal amount. I mined for +12 h there no rewards credited although blocks were found Sounds like a problem with the pool and not with orphans.

Is there a way to find out how many coins have been mined so far?
Normally an explorer arranges this, but we're still setting that up. I will do a calculation tomorrow to give an idea ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Here's a quick calculation of where we are: Block reward: 1-2,880 = 256 737,280 QB 2,881-40,319 = 128 737,280 + 4,792,192 = 5,529,472 40,320-80,639 = 64 5,529,472 + 2,580,480 = 8,109,952 80,640-120,959= 32 8,109,952 + 1,290,240 = 9,400,192 120,960 - 161,279 = 16 9,400,192 + 645,120 = 10,045,312 161,280 - 201,599 = 8 10,045,312 + 322,560 = 10,367,872 201,600 - 241,919 = 410,367,872 + 161,280 = 10,529,152 241,920 - 282,239 = 2 ( block reward will not be lower than this) 10,529,152 + 80,640 = 10,609,792 etc... Currently we're at block 209,777. When we reach block 210,000, we will have mined 10,401,472 Quarkbar. We will reach the max amount of blocks at 15,482,880 QB. This means the max will be at 2,649,855 blocks. This will take about three more years to mine ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

BTW jonesd you are doing a great job please do not go away like the last dev. LOL I just doubled down on QB.
Not planning on it! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I am working on a larger initiative to revive other old coins as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576714.0. This way, the survival will depend on a group of people and not some guy that lives in the attic of his grandma ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Cryptorush.in ate all my coins.
The site should be back really soon. Most of the coding has been complete. As of yesterday they where waiting for one more thing and then will be relaunching. Make sure you read the debt management plan. Once the site is up and running smoothly the QB wallet will be updated so you will be able to get your coins for any wallet that is not insolvent. It would really restore the faith of people if you would actually be able to get your QB back! I read your plan and I hope you will be successful (lost some coins myself there). My main worry with exchanges in general is the costs involved in securing so much money. We're still in the Wild West at the moment... We do what we can, cold storage, auditing etc, but there is only so much you can do against attacks. You can have a security team that has a salary total of over 2million and still an attacker can find a way in. The only thing you can do is kill the attack at a point where you are able to recover, aka small losses but the attack was stopped before it was all emptied. This is a good reason for cold storage etc, but then you still risk losing the hot wallet balances. The places like cryptsy and mintpal who are really rolling in the cash, hopefully, are beefing up their security teams etc. The small guys like me can only do what we can until we can afford to hire more staff. We have a new site design releasing soon, hopefully this helps drive more traffic, as of this time we are not profitable so its a huge risk for us to continue service months on end if we are operating at a loss ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) We'll continue to do all we can to keep stuff secure though ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Interesting to get you experience on this! We're really in a survival of the fittest situation here. A small exchange can suddenly become the main one, so hang in there. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Wonder if there would be a way to keep the money in the wallets of the users instead of centralized that works better than coinswap. Maybe an app where you get a notification if somebody wants to buy and you can get two factor authentication via the google app or something.
