2341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going to make mma predictions blog (for gamblers) on: February 08, 2023, 09:00:25 PM
What system are you going to use to score right and wrong predictions from the members of your blog, based on their comments? Will it be an automatic one or manual?

Your idea is good, if executed in an organized manner, as you say, but be aware it's not going to be easy to get recognization and popularit, because there are many bets predictions' websites or blogs right now.

I think he has got a unique concept which he may not release on this thread. The system he will use can be determined by the kind of script he is installing on his blog. Basically, it's meant to be automatically done, just like giving merit is automated here. So, op is working on building something for the good predictors to get popular and recognized. Thereby earning more followers which can lead them to more opportunities. Quite correct, it'll be difficult for Op to climb the ladder, yet we can't conclude how soon untill everyone wants to use his platform. Moreover the market is large, and they are spaces for him at the top, but he may not sit down. He needs to work with the concept he has in mind then focus on marketing. It's a smooth idea. I love it.
2342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the origins of provably fair technology in gambling? on: February 08, 2023, 03:12:43 PM
As far I know, provably fair technology in crypto gambling is simply the application of cryptography/hash functions onto an specific market or purpose, so one can verify the gambling results in a trust-less way. The theory behind it is not actually new.

I am not sure what the first platform that started this trend was, though.
Yes, it’s actually done through a robust encryption. This provably fair technology helps to create more game transparency and its game integrity that’s why crypto gambling has its constant feature of this provably fair technology. This is also the reason why these provably fair casinos are more reliable than those traditional online casinos as games have more assurance that they are not rigged and are very transparent.

I agree with you, of course.
I just wished there was easier for the average gambler to understand and corroborate the integrity of their gambling results in a faster and more convenient way.
Because, let us be honest, I doubt an important percentage of gamblers actually make use of the provably fair feature. I still struggle a bit to fully check results through hashes.

Because they assume that the probably fair feature is in place and the need of checking them is not necessary anymore. I'd say that those who can read the hashes are on a better side than the non tech savvy people who can't read the hashes. Now, I'd ask can a casino hide behind the claim of having a provably fair feature without applying such feature on their machines? Because, these days it seems like the house is in control of our wins, yet provably fair is boldy written on their TOS. Currently, few players can check for themselves if truly provably fair is available on the casino. Hence, it's not an easy to learn technique. So, it's kinda tricky.
2343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 06:42:56 AM
I've not had the intention to stop gambling because it helps my brain power to grow. It helps my thinking and as I keep playing my gambling experience increases. But, I always intend to moderate how I play games not to get addicted. Gambling is always fun and I don't intend to make a living through gambling, so it's not something I'm doing too often to an extent of advising myself to stop playing again. Hence, your point has to do with self control, and people with such attitudes gets frustrated from the same game that makes others get happy. I think it's a personal experience and people differs, similarly, we see gambling differently. A player can decide to play black jack and slot games randomly and studying how it works at same time. In the process, they won't get fed up from playing, even while losing funds, because they want to know how the machine works.
2344  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: February 08, 2023, 06:10:05 AM
"Abundance of money from gambling ruins the youths" The youths go into addicted gambling due to the money gambling promise to provide or the fact that other youths made lots of money from gambling. At the end, most of them don't see the funds and they refuse to play for the fun. So, the youths should be given some orientation about gambling, and updated about the aim of gambling instead of looking at gambling as a place to make money. It ends up ruin their life. They're people who made money from gambling, and it changed their attitude or lifestyle. Hence, youths are always inquisitive to make money and once a game is tagged to be paying they'll try taking it as a full time job which is wrong. Living a life whereby, you play then go to sleep, wake up play again, then next to the john. It ruins life, and a person can be glued to gambling because they want to make money. It's a kind of life I don't recommend for any youth.
2345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin? on: February 07, 2023, 01:11:25 PM
A lost bitcoin can't be accessed, but it helps the growth of bitcoin as it contributes to all the bitcoin in the market. Because they're not being spent, similar to the hodled BTC you mentioned. Once a person can access their coins, it'll be considered their own way of helping the network grow. Some people have been hodling for more than 2 years, and they do that to make more profits unlike the banks, the money saved in banks gets inflated. So, it's better to hodl Bitcoin than money in the bank. Like everyone else, the hodled Bitcoin is not lost unless considered lost by the owner.
2346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Act local and think global on: February 05, 2023, 03:30:09 PM
“Every road leads to the end of the world" similar to what OP just suggested. It's very important to hold such conversations that'll yield the conversion of more people to use Bitcoin. Like @Franky1 said; Bitcoin doesn't fly, I mean someone told each and everyone of us about Bitcoin starting from Satoshi who began the dissemination of his invention. Between most people don't need much explainations; hearing Bitcoin for the first time can lead someone to research about it. More so than most, the forum members, through our daily activities, are doing a great job to spread Bitcoin to the world, and if additional efforts are required then we can reach out to people locally and soon they'll be a positive change.
2347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anyone tell me what is the best way to gamble w/ BTC on online casinos? on: February 05, 2023, 12:43:46 PM
The best way to gamble is by seeing the house as your opponent, and you're rightly expected to do anything to win the house. As a gambler you don't need to play with other people's strategies rather utilize or generate your own strategy. That'll help you master how far you've gone in gambling. On the hand, online casinos seem to have got lesser playing ethics unlike physical casino that a malfunctioning machine can be to your own favor. I'd say, you'll need a good amount of bankroll set aside for gambling, before thinking about a means to cheat the house. Play for a longer period, and gambling will get easier for you to understand.

Note: play carefully with your bankroll, these Casinos are licensed to steal.
2348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rejecting odd provider's limit on: February 05, 2023, 10:01:47 AM
The best way is to monitor gaming providers, because they're a different section but exist in all casinos, and that makes it look like all Casinos communicate with each other to detect players. I think if a gaming provider flags a player for being underage or fraudulent disputes they can easily track that person on other casinos using their detective systems. And this time the player may be unlucky and the account will get restricted after they've won some money. They could be a way other than changing IP, proxies, or even Kyc how these people determine a suspicious player. So, the way out is to change games and try focusing on games that has different providers. That way the user can be difficult to trace.

Keep in mind that there's another reason for someone being limited, and it's his/her gambling addiction. In some jurisdictions gambling providers are obliged to limit someone's stakes just because they are too big, or there are too many of them to consider them affordable for the gambler. So, providers put a limit on the stakes of such person, and then this person goes around forums saying he was limited because he was so good at betting and that casinos fear him.

I personally think that this is the main reason why someone is limited, but I have no proof of that, so, let's just keep in mind that there are such cases.

Indeed it's among the right reasons why a person can be traced till forever never to gamble anywhere again, gambling addiction, if a person is restricted for such reasons they may not be enabled to play anywhere, but how exactly it's been achieved is like gambling we can't be sure of it, there are more than enough cases why a person gets limited, yet the game providers play an effective role in tackling these limitation disputes.

I think there is one common user base that is shared among themselves to identify suspicious players.I have a friend who works in this direction and he says that all the data for each player is fixed, mail / IP / password change and addresses where money is withdrawn. All this works in semi-automatic mode and suspicious accounts are checked manually several times a month. Most often, suspicious accounts are simply blocked during the election.

You are lucky to have a friend that knows the board rules of game providers. I think the withdrawal account is very sensitive when tracing suspicious accounts. Because, they ask of bank documents before the money is forwarded to the bank. And such details may not get fabricated easily. As for IP and other gadget related criterion, they can get bypassd easily. The receiving account seems like it is a strong evidence.
2349  Other / Meta / Re: New bitcointalk rank? 🔥 on: February 05, 2023, 09:32:30 AM
Adding the ranks you mentioned above would be a fresh journey for the Legendary members which in turn make them hustle for more merits in the forum, but it'll demoralize some lower ranked members knowing that the journey is yet too far to get to elite. I think the best method is to change the color of the last coins on the legendary member's account who manages to hit the desired merit and activity count for a new rank. Instead of changing names that'll be a better way to distinguish between different levels of legendary ranks. On the other hand, the bitcoin sign you suggested, has been set aside for the core bitcoin developers and that will cause some complication when trying to determine who is indeed a developer, or worked with Satoshi.

What we should also consider when talking about adding another rabk to the legendary rank is that am sure after a new rank is been added, there will always still be a new urge for more, which to me will make it seems a kind of competitive race as to who are the eligible legendary members to get there first, being a legendary already is good enough to proof that you've done a lot in the past that has earned you to that rank you are.

Like somebody said; it'll add to more qaulity post in the forum, but your response depends only on the mark of elegibility; number of merits, and activity. If it's kept somewhere around 20,000 merits it'll be a difficult task and only a few would strive for that as it seems almost impossible. But, if kept around 2k merits then over 150 members who have already earned 2k merits will be instantly promoted to the new level which won't make any difference anymore. Frankly speaking, this is just a suggestion and may not get implemented, and the fact it's not implemented shouldn't stop legendary members from investing more knowledge into the forum. I mean earning merits looks good regardless of the rank a user found himself. So, legendary members shouldn't reduce the quality of posts because the ranking level ended there. In case a new rank arrives then it won't be a tedious task for them anymore, that is if shifted to a long merit number like 20k or 30k merits.
2350  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk forum vs OpenAI - ChatGPT on: February 04, 2023, 07:39:43 AM
ChatGPT recently started with their subscription model (like I predicted) and they obviously want to earn money from all this AI hype,
but problem is that now g00gle is working on their own competition AI powered chat project called Atlas, so I am expecting more of this AI generated posts in future.
I am surprised that Google didn't buy them out. Or maybe they tried but they failed. But yeah, they really want to participate in this AI hype as it was announced today that they invested $300 million AI startup Anthropic.

It seems that Microsoft beat them to the punch, thanks to their deeper pockets. Apparently they were able to put much more money into the project, which gave them an edge.

Microsoft to Invest $10 Billion in OpenAI, the Creator of ChatGPT - nytimes.com

One good aspect of this AI innovation is the rivalry google is facing with openAI, google has been in the industry for long initiating rules and tightening their algorithms, making it difficult for websites to rank up. But, that aside, it's nice to have a different kind of search engine that is more user friendly which serves better what google is doing for readers. With the OpenAI undisputed google won't be generally in control of the affairs of the internet, yet openAI don't seem to be a threat to google as they'll soon launch their AI tech on February 8. Their AI will enable users to insert questions on the search box then get answers like the way chatgpt works. I think with time google will take over the race again, they've been working on AI tech like LaMDA for long.

2351  Other / Meta / Re: New bitcointalk rank? 🔥 on: February 04, 2023, 06:39:10 AM
Maybe don't change too much from Legendary, just add + and add more gold from 5 to 6 like the picture below.

Legendary/ (pronounce: "Legendary Slash") sounds much cooler.

These might "sound" cooler, but what about adding a BTC symbol instead of anything random.  Tongue

Legendary BTC or BTC Legendary

While I remain opposed to another rank, I would argue (if there really is a new rank) for a clearly visible difference from Legendary status. Like for example:

Epic
Elite
Veteran

Sounds like those Samsung/ iPhone naming convention. Plus, Pro, Max Grin

Please no, haha.  Cheesy

Adding the ranks you mentioned above would be a fresh journey for the Legendary members which in turn make them hustle for more merits in the forum, but it'll demoralize some lower ranked members knowing that the journey is yet too far to get to elite. 2353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a beginner, what should I avoid? on: February 04, 2023, 05:05:06 AM
Because I'm not really a good writer
If you arent then try to be one. No one is an excellent writer right away. Everyone has their own mischief and what you could do is to ammend that by learning how to be one. Try to read a lot of books, watch some English tutorials, and see your improvements once in a while.. No one will help you but yourself.

One of the ways to improve writing is through consistently writing short articles and that vehicle has helped improve the writing skills of members of this forum. Op's writing is not that difficult to understand, however it's not an article, but a little post that people can easily read and understand. You've got the best advise for him to improve his writing skills, but if he often writes in the forum, given time, he'll be a better writer. Unless he wants to learn use of English, parts of speech, use of words etc he can move to English tutorials on Youtube or join English forums.

On the other side, Like others, suggested, I think OP needs to avoid thinking about fast paced method to rank up, It's better to study the forum and understand it before moving ahead to ranking up. Furthermore, quality writing is the only tool for reaching top ranks, as you can't do anything else on the forum without sharing it through threads. Reasonable question effects good responses and such a thing like good questioning can help rank up OP's account in the forum. Generally, OP avoid fake news!
2354  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are you finding a virtual assistant as a Campaign Manager? on: February 04, 2023, 04:37:05 AM

Thank you, Sir, for your valuable advice.

Yes, sir. I'm skilled in SEO, Digital Marketing, Facebook Ads Campaigns, Instagram Ads Campaigns, WordPress development, eCommerce development, Virtual assistant, Admin panel support, and so on.

Have a good day!

Best Regards,

If you have all these then you have backed up with skills no need to ask for help if you have a portfolio and skills as you claimed to have, you just need to create your own service thread in the service section, what you need is a confidence that you seem to be lacking right now, there are freelancers who are average on their skill but very confident on what they offer.

I guess the confident freelancers as you mentioned got their skills through rapid practice; researching and testing new things everyday. But, OP seem to have ignored these skills and focused on cryptocurrency investment. Now, in need of funds, he wants to ignite his knowledge on those skills. Assuming, OP, practiced often those skills he listed, he wouldn't have been left with fewer or no clients, while you practice, often, skills like IG ads campaign you'll get rewards; clients or customers. It's one good thing about OP's niche, unfortunately he left them behind. Though, like I told him earlier, he needs to channel those skills to suit one aim. Taking them one step at a time would yield him enough results.
2355  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin freelance ecosystem development for fractions of Bitcoin - Bounties site on: February 03, 2023, 06:19:54 PM
It's a good initiative for the bitcoin tech and development niche, their rewards are also nice for developers. Though, the site is easy to use, but the number of giggs there are few, we hope the idea booms and more projects starts offering bounties for developers to join. Things that affect such sites is less publicity. If they worked on the site's SEO it'll get to developers and brands that needs the help of developers. But, if the site continues gradually given time depending on the quality it provides would boom. I've not seen this kind of bounty site, but if more niches other than project development like marketing; SEO, social media management etc. It would lead to great publicity since people are mainly focused on that field with larger amount of giggs everyday on top sites like Fiver and topwork.
2356  Economy / Speculation / Re: My fear in fall of Bitcoin. on: February 03, 2023, 04:22:30 PM
Bitcoin price could have soared higher if it worked the way you perceived the market. Because lots of investors are taking their percentage of bitcoin on daily basis. I think it's better to have a rethink on bitcoin and do more research about the network to understand better how the price happens. After the research you'll have a different view of bitcoin, as your response doesn't sound right or correct, but you are a newbie, and it says a lot about the post. The market wasn't created to ignite fear on people rather to remove anxiety. Take the price of bitcoin today and don't worry about what it'll be tomorrow. Like you pointed, which is true, it's difficult to determine accurately what the market price would be, the best decision is to join the market, given time it'll be easier for you, instead of staying afraid, you'll discover that your mind would begin to work like that of the other investors who don't care much about the price before purchasing bitcoin. Fiat is already failing citizens and bitcoin is a good form of money that'll deliver people from the stress Fiat is causing them; inflation. I'd say that you should be happy that Bitcoin is here, don't be afraid.

"If you are afraid don't do it, if you are doing it don't be afraid."  - Ghenghis Khan.

2357  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A fortunate story of a crypto mentor on: February 01, 2023, 08:10:44 PM
It's a good story here and it motivates people to wait for their investment to yield profit. I'd say that he is mainly focused on selling when the price increase. He only kept holding his money because he has seen more market changes, which made him to trust that his 100k investment won't plunge down the hill without bringing profits again. When his 100k turned a million, did he keep on holding or he sold?
2358  Other / Meta / Re: How many forum members do you know by real name? on: February 01, 2023, 06:07:58 PM
You are certainly in the minority right now and I doubt much will change with the voting in the future. How did you meet al those people (not counting the ones you knew before you registered here)? Did you guys organize meetups where you would hang out, do some business, and discuss crypto, or where did you come across that many individuals?

There used to be meetups when Bitcoin wasn't that common. Also because the local section was small, people were more likely to get to know each other and meet in real life if they lived nearby. Exchanges were not developed, Bitcoin purchases were made through the forum. I met a lot of people back then. Although many of them stopped posting on the forum, when those people think of Bitcoin this is the first place they look. Some of these people are currently working at Bitcoin related companies, including the biggest local exchanges.
The conditions of 8-10 years ago and now are very different. So I can understand new members not meeting people from the forum or wanting to stay anonymous.

I think people met to have interpersonal conversations about bitcoin with forum members and it was rare to see anybody at random that could talk dip on bitcoin 10 year ago. Unlike now, it won't mean a lot to have bitcoin discussion with someone from this forum because they are always people who are not members here that knows about bitcoin. So, it was all that new feelings of beginners trying to meetup with each other in the forum. That'll be rare now and some local boards have more members that seem to stay miles away from each other. I've never met any new friend from this forum let alone know their real name. But, some members were friends of mine who I introduced to the forum and they no longer use the forum because of how complex it appears to them. Other than that, I've never been in that boat.

2359  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for feedback on my new bitcoin site! on: February 01, 2023, 05:42:11 PM
I think you've got a simple site and it's growing in contents, but I think you need to have contact us and about us page on the website. I can't find it on the site, if it's there please make it visible, put it on the top bar, for people that wants to guestpost on your site to easily reach you and talk business. The white colors on the site that separates the posts can be changed too. So, that it can suit the background color. Also improve your content quality and run nice keyword research on your topic, so as to fetch more traffic to your site. Crypto blogs generate nice traffic and grows faster, it'll be important to provide the best to readers. The speed is fine and that's relevant in keeping visitors to read more.
2360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: February 01, 2023, 04:53:11 PM
It's normal to be sad if we're experiencing hardships in life and feel lonely if we don't have anyone besides us but relying on the comfort of gambling will not make the situation better. We can only feel more disappointed if we will have losses because we are too emotional. There are still many ways to ease our loneliness and gambling should not be our solution.
It looks like OP is facing a hard time in his life due to his mother being hospitalized and urdergoing a surgery, so his mind needed a relief for a brief moment and gambling seemed the perfect choice on that situation he found himself. I really see no issues on that, since it could be benefical for him, however, he should just have been more careful with the amount of money he was going to risk. To risk the whole month's savings is never a viable alternative.

Maybe he should have just allocated a minor budget for gambling activity, like 10% of the savings.

Stress must have pushed OP not loneliness. Indeed, he needed to relieve himself, but the pleasure of winning was unbearable considering that he needs more money and pleasure; killing two stones with one. In moments like this, It won't be easy to think straight about the right decision, yet scheduling his bankroll would have been a good decision. And he could be facing more pains than he did before he took his previous decision. However, we are expected to stay strong and manage what we have left. Hence, it'll be unfair to repeat such mistake. Not only by OP, readers here should also learn from his mistake and not get carried away with simultanous wins.
