The natives are getting restless on his forum too. This ASIC pre-order thing is not for the faint of heart.

Craps is a magnificent dice game...don't you find?
2343  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: January 05, 2013, 12:26:58 AM
As mentioned Glari Mining Project on crypto is the best there. I believe he's got some FPGA to Avalon upgrades coming. Tempted to delve a little deeper and potentially invest a few BTC myself, though liquidity on cryptostocks is frequently a problem.

Edit: Another interesting aspect of adding GMP to your ETF is that you would then have a stake in all three shipping ASIC vendors. Truly a representation of the market.

Long as the cash hasn't lost 97% of it's value by the time you get to the bank, where they'll no doubt alert the appropriate authorities.

Ha! Politicians are classier than that...I always imagine them as the monocle dude meme as they deposit their exorbitant checks into their offshore accounts..just like you would do in their situation!

Hullo...? (((GOLD + UGLY SISTER)))

Nadler? Frank? Schumer? Classy? HAHAHAHAHA ha ha

Pull the other one!

Let us not forget our BEAUTIFUL GhoulSecretary of State "We came, we saw, he died! HAHAHAHA" ugh.
2345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Those fuckers! Fiscal Cliff Rolled Back! on: January 04, 2013, 11:10:12 PM
I wouldn't. Not if the counteroffer was 5 pounds of gold and a lay.

Ha! Couldn't you just take the 1 mil, buy 35 pounds of gold with it and spend the rest on a top quality hooker..err "Escort"?

Long as the cash hasn't lost 97% of it's value by the time you get to the bank, where they'll no doubt alert the appropriate authorities.

I'll take the gold and ugly sister, long as she doesn't tell anyone I went slumming. Tongue

Tom continues to tease. Lips sealed

Quote
Hello and Good Evening

Just wanted to keep this update warm because I am Still waiting for a phone call so I can finish this upcoming news release. Please continue to have patience with us - I am waiting on some confirmation that will give me the confidence to provide a definite shipping date like Avalon has already done. I took a few mins today to check up on BFL and It looks like they are in a similar situation as us. I think we are all learning the same lessons as to how much more difficult it is to release ASIC based Bitcoin technology than it is to design and release an ASIC based miner.

However I think we all agree it will be well worth the time, money, and effort.

Also I want to thank everyone for the feedback and positive response to the hosting plans, this is Dave's pet project and I am sure he will have some more solid information soon - he is already looking at locations and talking to electricians about upgrading the electrical frameworks.

He has the privilege of access to incredibly cheap electricity which can make this a game changer for many miners, especially those who are over seas

As soon as I get this phone call I will update this thread with the new news release which will be the most anticipated and exciting of news release of all.

If you don't hear back from me tonight you will see a full post from me in the morning.

I just paid the last two refund requests we have received - most customers have not taken advantage of our open refund policy and for that I thank you to all who are keeping cool and who have kept faith in us. We are working our asses off to make this a reality, and you can bet your ass it will be one soon

All my best, please stay tuned
be back very soon

Tom

Agreed. I think a lot of people go to Washington with ideals intact and then get indoctrinated into the "club" and eventually join the pigs at the trough. How long can your average person refuse bribes from the army of lobbyists before they begin to give ground and sell out their countrymen? Undecided

Precisely. Imagine what you [generic use of you, not directed toward creativex haha] would do in their shoes. You'd have all these good ideas and well intentions, and then someone tosses you a million bucks to help them pass a law to help, say, regulate the internet. Now think about what you would do with a million dollars...does any of it involve making the United States better for everyone, or are your ideas mainly focused on yourself, friends and family?

Naturally since this is the internet, you can pretend to be someone else and say you're going to donate every penny to some charity...but the reality is that you're probably focusing on your well-being first.

Probably. Most will cave, and I don't know that I'd be any more immune than anyone else. I don't care about the $1M of fiat, but if someone came at me with a 5lbs bar of gold and their ugly sister no one wanted to date...well...

I do believe a lot of this organized crime could be eliminated with strict term limits. Congress should be staffed by average citizens not career ruling class creeps that may or may not have started out with high ideals and lofty goals to improve their nation.
2348  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace - Official Launch on: January 04, 2013, 07:45:16 PM
Nothing against BitFunder, as I haven't given it a good going over...yet, but I'd be annoyed too if I had to go to another exchange to recover my shares because an asset issuer suddenly locked and transferred my shares without warning or vote.

My camera is loaned out so I snapped a crumby phone pic. Neither the camera or the photographer are terribly effective I fear.

It's a Giga UD3R.r1 board w/ an i7-930, Corsair H50 cooler, 2GBx3 RAM, Corsair TX750 & Antec 620 PSUs. The cards pictured are the MSI 6950(unlocked to 1536 shaders), HIS 5830, Powercolor 6870, & a Sapphire 6770. All of the cards are overclocked via afterburner, but I don't overvolt as the killawatt says that just eats more power/Mh produced.

There's an unused PCIex16 slot at the bottom of the board, so I'll be looking to migrate another of the cards(6850) to this rig in the near future. I don't tend to interrupt the mining rig when it's behaving and just save all my alterations for when a restart is necessary for one reason or another. This rig has been peacefully mining without incident since the PCIe risers arrived on Xmas Eve. OS is WIN8 Pro with classic shell.

Edit: I built the wooden cage/card holder when the cooling fans on the cards began croaking last year. The generic replacements take up more space and block too many slots to be practical without risers. Both fans on the 6950 have croaked and been replaced as well as the single fan on the 5830.

Edit2: The system is headless and I only flip on a monitor occasionally if I have reason to suspect something's amiss. The only drives are the OCZ 30GB SSD shown and the optical under it which hasn't been used since the OS was setup.
2351  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Charge-back scam on: January 03, 2013, 09:15:55 PM
It's not just BTC that paypal buyers do this with. This is an ongoing scam buyers use paypal for all the time. "Item significantly different than seller described" = chargeback and the buyer keeps the item, because paypal helps them steal from you. The solution is really very simple.

DON'T USE PAYPAL
2352  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: January 03, 2013, 08:43:58 PM
Cash + 3 or more mining assets and you'll be fine. BTC balance is obviously an asset that belongs to investors and is just as obviously not limited to 20%. It's a balancing act for any long term transparent fund, but with a properly designed spreadsheet it's a breeze.
2353  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: January 03, 2013, 06:55:22 PM
Sure I can snap some pics and post them up.
[..]
The whole thing is caseless so it ain't the pertiest thing ever

Naked cards? Exposed boards? We love server/rig pr0n.

Who doesn't right? Smiley Travelling today so the pr0n will likely have to wait till tomorrow...gotta earn my puppy chow.
2354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Happy new year and still no ASICs! on: January 03, 2013, 04:01:34 PM
BTCFPGA also claims to have a functioning chip at this time and Avalon must either have them or be very close if they expect to meet their countdown date.
2355  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: January 03, 2013, 11:32:38 AM
Sure I can snap some pics and post them up. Four of the cards are hashing from a Gigabyte s1366 board with dual PSUs. The whole thing is caseless so it ain't the pertiest thing ever, but it is a lot easier to work on this way.
2356  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: January 03, 2013, 12:36:52 AM
I'm expecting late January, while holding out hope of a mid January shipping date.
2357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is going down and down , time to sell everything and run away !!! on: January 02, 2013, 09:41:28 PM
Normal alt crypto behavior is pump and dump. LTC has not followed this behavior.
2358  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTCFPGA announces hosted ASIC plans... what does this portend? on: January 02, 2013, 09:39:15 PM
Except if you'd paid BFL in June then your fully reversible credit card payment would no longer be fully reversible.
2359  Economy / Securities / Re: {Bakewell} Get an equitable stake in a transparent & growing mining company on: January 02, 2013, 09:34:50 PM
Umm...I'm a little slow, does this mean that Ian Bakewell just got 500 MORE votes? ...or 700 more votes?

One could make the case that you're intentionally tanking this security to buy cheaper shares.
2360  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASICs The Obvious Question on: January 02, 2013, 09:05:06 PM
In that case it'd be a good thing that LTC is waiting in the wings.
