I've stated above that I am using the microwallet faucet script.

I thought you were saying that you are using Microwallet micropayment service(using API). I think you may loose referral data. Minifrij already told you. Hope everyting goes okay for you.

Ok thanks! I agree, hopefully goes well. My faucet has been down for a day already because of my hosting  Undecided I've tried to move name servers, but the name servers won't move! Does it take a few days for nameservers to move?
Any more help is welcome!

Like above users told, please give more information. Are you using Microwallet faucet script? Or your own custom made script?

I've stated above that I am using the microwallet faucet script.

What would you like as the signature title? (The main text of the signature.) Would you like "Shadow Project," "Shadow Coin," "Shadow Cash," or just "Shadow?"

We don't use "Shadow Coin" but "Shadow Project" or just "Shadow" would be fine for the central text (we quite like them both). "ShadowCash" is the name of the currency, but it's just one element of the project. Smiley

Ok, thanks! Will use that as the title. Do you want us to include all the "Shadow Cash," "Shadow Send," etc. in the signature too? Or not?
2344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you use a new faucet database instead of the old one? What are the cons? on: March 13, 2015, 01:59:00 AM
Does your faucet has a referral scheme? If so, your users will lose all referrals, and people with a shit ton of referrals are going to be pissed!

Not if he's able to migrate the referral listing as well (and just wipe the rest).

OP, we need more details about your setup to answer your question properly. This is like saying "if I fill my car with octane 87, will it cause issues?" What kind of car is it? Is it electric? Is it a diesel? Can't answer without information.

Could you tell please me how do I migrate the referral listing? As for faucet site details, I have a backup of everything except the database.  Undecided

Most probably the DB stores addresses, number of claims, last claim, balance per address, among other things. So if you lose that information probably your users could lose some balance and will definitely complain for that.

I don't really need to worry about that, as the last claim getting erased will just benefit the users, storing addresses won't be a problem as I'm pretty sure users will do one simple copy and paste again, as for number of claims, and balance per address, I don't need to worry about that as microwallet does that for me. Right now, I just want to see if there is a way to restore referrals. Any more help is welcome!

Does anyone know what happens if you migrate your bitcoin faucet hosting to a new host and create a new database instead of using the old one?

What are the consequences, if there are any? I don't think there will be data loss, as bitcoin faucets don't need passwords, etc, but just wanted to make sure.

I backed up my whole faucet site except my database, which I'm kicking myself for right now. I'm trying to get in touch with my hosting provider, but he doesn't check the forum often, so I'm temporarily migrating to a new host. I can easily back up everything, and set up a new database, but I want to know if there are any consequences in switching a faucet database. Thanks!

It depends on what faucet script you're using.

Let us know the faucet you're using to get better help.

I'm using microwallet. I don't think users will lose balance, as my faucet doesn't store their balance, it sends to microwallet automatically, so I think that will be fine. Thanks. Any more help is welcome!

People will lose their referrals, that's about all I can think of.

Hmm, Ok, thanks. This is only temporary, so I think it will be fine, as I plan to go back to the old host as soon as I can get in touch with the owner.

2349  Economy / Digital goods / Re: The Collapse of the Bitcoin Generator Bot on: March 12, 2015, 07:26:59 PM
Can confirm. Rich has gone dark. I don't consider it a scam as the bot was actually functional and working. It wasn't guaranteed undetected or anything and actually has several methods in place to prevent getting detected but overall I think the proxies are what cause this.

I can agree with this statement. The proxies that Rich recommended definitely were not that great. He made the recommendation based on his own experience, it was probably fine for him for the past few months but I believe once too many people got to using the same proxies for this bot, the site owners caught on and simply banned any accounts associated with the proxies.

If so, couldn't you just use new proxies? Also, maybe clicking the ads for the owner might help, as he profits from ad clicks, and if he's still making money, maybe he will turn a blind eye to people using this bot. Sorry for the loss though, some people had to pay 1.5 btc for this if I can remember correctly.

2353  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [b]Question about Bitmedia.io?[/b] on: March 12, 2015, 12:38:10 AM
Do they pay per impression or click? how much? can you use other ads programs too?

Bitmedia.io pays per click. You can also use other ad networks alongside it, it's fine. Bitmedia has a "pending" balance, funds here will be moved to your main balance after 7 days, and the minimun withdrawal is 0.01. To see an example of a bitmedia ad, you can go to http://bitcoinshowers.com

To OP, sometimes Bitmedia can be buggy, as it is in beta. You can contact support for questions at support@bitmedia.io. Also, just note that BBCode does not work in titles, so the [/b] you put in the title won't work.
2354  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: new investment site in bitcoin on: March 12, 2015, 12:31:04 AM
This looks like a Ponzi scheme, as it offers 110% gain in 72 hours. If the profit is too good to be true, it is probably a ponzi. Also, this thread should be moved to service discussion.
2355  Other / Meta / Re: Proxy and a new account on: March 11, 2015, 07:08:54 PM
OP doesn't even need a proxy if he wants to make constructive posts with an account he bought, as having 2 accounts is not against forum rules. (Unless you have an account banned on your IP, then this is considered ban evasion.)

signing up via tor will get your account banned so you will have to pay a fee to get it unlocked.

Signing up via tor won't get your account banned. You will only have to pay a fee if an account on your IP has been banned before. See the below quote for more details.

When you register, the IP that you used when you submitted the registration form is used to calculate your evilness. The more frequently this IP or its neighbors were banned, the more evil is associated with your account. The amount of evil associated with an IP decays slowly over time, but the amount of evil associated with an account does not. You must pay or be manually whitelisted to enable posting on one of these "banned" accounts.

Here are some stats:

Evil% new users
053
0-135
1-104.4
10-200.80
20-502.2
50-1001.3
100+2.9

Currently each unit of evil requires a payment of 4023 satoshi. You only need to pay something if you have 1 or more, though.

i just try to make a little design for this

Thanks

2358  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptocoins-Dice, vote for your favorite theme: which should be the default one? on: March 10, 2015, 07:32:02 PM
I would also say slate. The dark design looks better, but the buttons from sandstone look better then the ones on slate. Perhaps you could take the buttons from sandstone and put them on the slate theme, then that would be really nice.
2359  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paid per post on: March 10, 2015, 05:42:34 PM
I've seen a lot of people say that you have to be a full member to join a signature campaign, but newbies can join signature campaigns too. You will get less pay obviously, but you will still get paid. Here is a good newbie signature campaign for you.

If the thread was moved to the trashcan ten minutes after the creation ? I do not think that Google has saved a copy of it , or am I wrong?

From what I read*, for BCT, I think it caches in a few mins but might not all posts.

* https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/how-often-does-google-cache-your-pages-for-search-results.961123

   -MZ

Yes, it depends on the thread and how fast google can index it. Bitcointalk gets cached quite fast, (maybe because the forum has a high PR rating?) But there are a lot of threads and sometimes they don't all get cached. The cache: trick works most of the time for me though.
