I have a feeling that he could come close to Pacman in terms of achievement.

close but not so close, the good thing with Pacman is he does not stop in one division for too long, he keeps moving so as a result, he won multiple belts and has become an 8th division world champion. I don't know how many division champion Inoue is now, but for sure not close with Pacman.

He is currently a three-division world champion, you can read it in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naoya_Inoue....

So there's still more fights that he has to win to close to Pacman's achievement, which I don't think he would even get 7.
There's also a rumor that he will break Pacman's achievement, but I think it's just the fans trying to hype him up more.

Also, in the pound for pound ranking of ring magazine, he is currently sitting at the number 2 spot.

NLEX wasn't really a popular team. It's always the TNT or Meralco which usually goes to the finals, so they don't need a good coach I believe. Well, coach Yeng was good but I think he was not given everything he needs, the reason why his team was underperforming.

Actually, NLEX has a big chance making it to the Finals last season in the Governors Cup because of their import KJ McDaniels. As mentioned by other user here previously, KJ McDaniels were unable to finish his playing career in NLEX because of the delays that surely affected his own timeline to follow. He is averaging a monster stats on that conference and a top candidate as a Best Import if only he able to finished his tenure.

Aside from that, NLEX finished 2nd on that conference and still secures the twice-to-beat advantages in the playoffs even the team faced several problems like, best cager Jericho Cruz rejects the NLEX offer and choose to signed with SMB, Kiefer Ravena leaving the team for his Japan stint, Calvin Oftana's season ending injury and lastly, KJ McDaniels decision t return home.

KJ McDaniels leaving the team was the huge factor for the team to struggle. They have built a chemistry and we can really tell how dominant KJ McDaniels is as an import, saw him before in other team, and he played better with NLEX, it's just unfortunate, they could have a chance to reach the NBA Finals as I think Fajardo that time was still injured or not 100%.
2343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 10, 2022, 06:54:18 PM
It's the 3rd fight, so if there's another fight, it will be the 4th. If that will happen, then it's okay because these two are great fighters and they can give real entertainment unlike other chances who are boring to watch as they just want to score and run, this one they do a toe to toe fight, that's why the fans are asking for this fight.

If Golovkin wins this fight, then he may decide to retire. Even if he decides otherwise, I don't think that he will agree to another fight with Canelo. He has repeatedly claimed that he was robbed of wins not once, but twice. So why should he give an opportunity to Canelo, to get even? But then, there will be a lot of ifs and buts. Given the asymmetrical betting odds, no one in their right mind would think that Golovkin is a favorite to win this match. As I mentioned earlier, I have placed a small bet in favor of GGG. But even then, I am not being much optimistic.

That's another option, but if you will ask me, why would he retire if he can still make more money fighting Canelo again?

Here's what I'm thinking that could happen, If GGG cares more about his legacy, then retirement is the best option, but if he cares more about making more money before retirement, then he will continue to fight, whether it's Canelo or another fighter.

GGG will receive all the praise if he can beat Canelo because it's his biggest rival and people think Canelo is better than him, and the fact that he is a heavy underdog now compared to the last two fights, he will get a sweeter victory here. Both will have their own legacy, but GGG retiring after beating Canelo, that's a big statement.

We never know, right? Golovkin might retire right after he upsets Canelo in this upcoming trilogy, I mean what more he could ask? He already settled his score to his rival, Canelo, and for the latter's side, that is very heartbreaking because getting defeated twice in a row in one year will definitely lower his value, especially after the fact that he got defeated by a boxer who is near his retirement.

That is really possible to happen because we know Golovkin is not much the type who follows money before fame and for Golovkin, legacy is his priority.
2344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 10, 2022, 06:33:34 PM
that 1 inch advantage is nothing if we will compare to what are the advantages of Inoue against Butler .

from the stamina and experiences ? and from whom He defeated ? I'm sure that inch means nothing to this Monster from japan , he is not afraid of anyone and he had proven that from defeating one of the toughest in that division Nonito Donaire so there is no one can hinder Him from taking another momentum .
In general height is nothing in boxing, since this is a professional fight and have certain weight division, of course the height difference wouldn't really big. I'd say reach is an advantage since boxer with longer hand will easier to hit his opponent than the boxer with short hand. But no all short hand boxer is weak or can't compete with a boxer with long hand, Lomachenko already prove this.

Yep, I think Inoue would been underestimate Butler until the fight happen, even Inoue isn't serious to train his body, I still think Butler has no chance to beat Inoue.

I think I'll disagree, height is surely an advantage because the smaller boxer will have some difficulty in finding that opening to cut the jaw in order to KO the taller boxer, and those punches will be much elevated just to reach that head or jaw. But even those advantages won't mean that much if the opponent has a good IQ in the ring like Loma for instance.

Quote

I'm starting to think mate that you're the one who underestimates Inoue Huh because almost all the boxing fans know that he doesn't have that kind of attitude and he is much more disciplined when it comes to body conditioning and trainings.
2345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 10, 2022, 06:12:07 PM

So it's bad to stay in a weight division wherein you can't really make weight, another example is Casimero. he wanted to fight Inoue so he stayed in that division and in the first scheduled fight against Butler, he fell ill. And in the second one, he was caught with the Sauna thingy.

He was already struggling to keep the required weight, it's just too bad for Casimero as he was caught cheating, he could have just move up and be the number 1 contender to fight the champion. For Ancajas here, there's still one more chance for him to avenge his loss, if he wins here, people will stop doubting him, if he losses, then no choice for him but to move up.

Speaking of Casimero, I wonder what is he up to now because he should at least make some statement that he will climb through the next weight class because it was already clear that bantamweight is not for him anymore and fight this year too because he was already 1 year inactive last August. Anyway back to this fight, I think it's time for Ancajas to move too if he is truly struggling to make the required weight in this division but for now, he should try and settle his score first against Martinez before deciding what he should do next.
2346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 10, 2022, 05:48:00 PM
The money is flowing into exhibition matches because there are famous names getting involved in those matches.
They are creating a good hype for those matches and hence the tickets are being sold anything.
For example: Logan Paul vs Mayweather match was really hyped and gained a lot of attention.
For old boxers, of course, titles are no longer the main focus for them, they will offer to compete in exhibition boxing fights if the pay is worth it, as in the fight between Mayweather Vs Logan Paul which is quite sensational and strange because in terms of achievements, it is clear that the fight was not worth it, but because Paul Logan has a lot of money and his influence as a YouTuber will certainly be an attraction for the audience to watch the fight, so that Mayweather does not hesitate to accept the challenge and earn quite a lot of money eve though their boxing win record is very much different, namely Mayweather 50 wins while Paul Logan 0 wins.

That fight between Logan Paul and Mayweather is literally a straight pot of honey especially for the latter because Logan Paul is a perfect opponent in an exhibition fight, not because he has some talents in boxing and can fairly challenge Mayweather but because Logan Paul has a vast loyal fan base that will really support him whatever he does.

And for Mayweather, knowing that fact alone is already enough for him because he is already assured that their fight will bring them big revenue, and yes it happened.
2347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October on: September 10, 2022, 05:23:29 PM

Yes, anything can happen and we can't really know for sure if there will be some upset in Kambosos and Haney's rematch because I believe there won't be much of a difference this time, the latter will always find his own to dominate Kambosos that's why he is that confident to face Kambosos again in his own country and in front of his own people.

As for this fight between Loma and Ortiz, I think we can somehow say that this will be just a tune-up fight for Loma before he fights Haney soon and unfortunately for Ortiz, he will just be a ladder and a challenge that Loma will eventually survive.

A good ladder, but also a good way to bring his name on top. Inside this sport, upset happens and until there's no declare winner
anything is possible to happen. Ortiz needs to bring everything here. It's an opportunity for him, but for sure, more on Loma's comeback
and fans are aiming to see him challenging a title holder champ.

I agree, this fight is not exempted either especially this year as there's been a lot of upsets happened lately.

Anyway, I'm starting to sense why Ortiz has been chosen to be the opponent of Loma in his return, I mean I might be wrong here because Loma doesn't need some average boxer to tune him up before he goes for a title fight against the undisputed boxer next. I hope I'm wrong because Ortiz is very unfortunate if it's really true.

I guess he is chosen because he seems to be a good challenge for Loma. Young and talented but very raw. So it will be a good test for Loma because this is a comeback fight for him.

Of course, Ortiz will take advantage of what is being offered to him, fight the best and even if he losses, he will gain valuable experience that can make him a better fighter in the future for this division.

You're probably right about that and judging Ortiz's record, he seems fit and much more suitable to fight Loma and challenge the latter what could he offer in his comeback. And if by chance Loma will be rusty, by chance, then Ortiz should take advantage of that because defeating Loma will definitely hype his name to fight stronger boxers in the industry with the likes of Ryan Garcia.

But that's just the other side of my speculation because we can't really take away the fact that Loma is the one who has the higher hand here in this fight, and we may see Loma winning by a KO/TKO in his comeback.
2348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 10, 2022, 05:02:50 PM
Any thoughts on the report that NBA will announce expansion teams on its pre-season. The teams will be Las Vegas and Seattle.

If it is Supersonics, I think it will continue the history of the previous Supersonics.

If this happens, as the report said, there will be reshuffling in conferences. Each conference will now have 16 teams each.

https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/nba-to-announce-expansion-teams-las-vegas-seattle-during-preseason

My guess is that Seattle will have a brand new name because, in the past, the Seattle Supersonics merged and moved their team to OKC. Also, Adam Silver said that "The NBA may soon be adding a pair of new teams in Las Vegas and Seattle" so it's likely safe to say that these teams will be brand new. Anyway, we will know it soon during the pre-season match of Clippers and Lakers.

Little side talk, Mayweather and Lebron James have expressed their interest in owning an NBA team in Las Vegas. So maybe these two highest paid athletes will become a partial owner of the new team in Las Vegas but only one of them will be a majority holder for sure.

I don’t know for sure but as far as I know, Mayweather should have a lot more money compared to LeBron James. Whether he has more money than LeBron or not, I am pretty sure that Mayweather has a huge amount of money.

And yes LeBron James has a lot of money as well because you know in NBA a lot of money is always coming in and going out.

So, if they want they can obviously own NBA teams.
But are they going to own a team together?
If that happens it will be interesting to see who has the majority of ownership.

The biggest investor will of course be the majority holder of the upcoming Las Vegas team for sure, however, we can't say yet that they will be the owner though because I bet there have been a lot of investors lately that are interested to own a team in the NBA that have more wealth than Mayweather and Lebron combined.

For the record, LeBron James is wealthier than Mayweather and the latter is nowhere near LeBron's net worth at the moment.

Speaking of the free agent market, I noticed that there are 4 centers in there,

- Dwight Howard
- Demarcus Cousins
- Tristan Thompson
- Hassan Whiteside

Maybe this is another indication that the NBA is really going small basketball and the game has really evolved in the last 10 years.

These Centers are old timers, they have been rusted by the new style of play in the NBA today. Small ball sure will work, but big men are still needed even in these era but with a guard skill package like Chet. Small only works with a handful of team though. GSW have executed in perfectly.

Base on that list, i think Dwight could still be on the starting line up. He'll still be useful in terms of rebounds and defense.

He cannot play big minutes because he is a liability in the offense. He is not as dominant before, he could be useful in the rebounds and the defensive end but what if the opposing team will just play a hack a Howard which will put him in the FT line which his percentage is very low?

I'm seeing videos now coach Yeng training the ROS roster. Looks like his return to his old team is hyped, hopefully this would have a good result and ROS will once again be a competitive team like they were in the past.
Because fans missed him, ROS were really a great team when coach Yeng was still the coach, and slowly they transformed into a trash team when coach Yeng left he team, so the expectation is really high, he better not disappoint the fans.

I'm guessing, maybe this will be his last team before he will retire.
At his age, most probably he will retire as a ROS.

I’m not sure I like the Hornets signing Montrez Harrell. I feel like he got his bag when he left the Clippers and hasn’t been the same since. I don’t suspect any team that signs him is going to get their money’s worth. I don’t think he’s a good pairing with their young run and gun squad either. I guess we’ll see how it goes, but I feel like it won’t go well.
Signing with the Hornets or the Sixers? It's the latter that I'm reading.

It's $5.2 Million for two years with a player option for a 28-year-old center. I don't think that's a bad deal for any team since he can still be useful in player rotations. The Sixers probably thinks he could give Embiid more minutes to rest while he's on the floor. Maybe they're hoping a double-double or close to it for 20 minutes?
It was in the Sixers where he signed and maybe there is a bit of mistake with that post.
https://www.nba.com/news/montrezl-harrell-signs-philadelphia-sixers

After giving Drummond to the Nets in the Harden-Simmons trade, the Sixers really lacked a big at that time and it was Embiid who was their reliable big. Now they are starting to acquire bigs like DeAndre Jordan and now they also got Harrell who isn't tall for a big TBH but a good defender and a former 6th man of the year when he was in Clippers. His stint with the Lakers was the reason why his efficiency went down drastically but I think he can still contribute more to the team knowing how he played when he was in the Clippers. It's a good sign to the Sixers as Embiid will play less minutes.

I think his game drastically went down when he transfer to the Lakers, he still contribute but not as what we expected from him. Anyhow, it's good that he still find a team this season and yeah, the Sixers needs someone to compliment Joel in the middle so Trez could be a good fit for them. He can still defend and even score inside, give them good offensive and defensive rebounds too.

Maybe because he is not given the correct timing of exposure he needs to provide a good production for the team and Vogel that time was quite having a hard time figuring out who will be playing because the roster is quite stacked and that was the same downside of it.

Also, the Lakers made some mistakes along the way because they freed some more useful players that time just to get Westbrook which eventually became a huge liability for the team. Along with that mistake is letting Alex Caruso go after proving the team that he is one of the important key why the Lakers became a champion last 2020.

Exactly, we know that Money Mayweather wouldn't turn down such fights that will give him guaranteed big money in just several minutes of fighting in the ring along with the amateur boxers in Japan, and of course, his win is also guaranteed on top of that Grin even if he will say again that he will put his professional record on the line.

I got an impression that Floyd Mayweather is a businessman first, a boxer second.  He always make sure that he has the better share of the pie, that he will win the fight, and that the referee will always be on his side, he has money to buy them all. Investment at its best!!! Grin

You're right about that impression because Mayweather is truly a businessman who views the industry as a business that's why he built his own promotional company to build an empire in the industry, he knew exactly that he's not the best boxer in his era even if he won't admit it and he just talk big to maintain the hype around him. Well, look at him now, he is already sleeping in cash.
2355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 06, 2022, 07:10:07 PM
And if ever that happens, he should move up in the next division which is the bantamweight division which has more difficult boxers.
As long as Inoue already become undisputed champion and there's a new vacant belts for every new boxers, bantamweight division wouldn't become hell division anymore and Ancajas can compete with the other boxers just like his legend e.g. Donaire and Casimero. But it's too early for Ancajas to move to the next weight division since he should at least get a belt in his current weight division first.

If he's failed to beat Martinez, there's other champion that he can take a challenge.

Yea, I forgot that Inoue was already set to fight for the undisputed title this year against Butler and then move to a higher weight class after he's done in bantamweight. In that case, maybe bantamweight will be much more suitable for Ancajas if he will still have the same problem he had in the first encounter but I'm afraid he won't meet with Donarie anymore because Donaire said that he's going down to chase the title in other division.

Quote
If he's failed to beat Martinez, there's other champion that he can take a challenge.
That's not the problem he's having, it's the same problem as Casimero. Ancajas is struggling to meet the required weight in this division that's why we speculated that maybe bantamweight might be more suitable for him. But yes, before that, let's see it first if he can overcome it this time.
2356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people doing except holding Bitcoin? on: September 06, 2022, 06:48:34 PM
Also the rich keep buying even when price keeps dipping. Those who took advantage of Bitcoin prices from 2010 till 2014 don't need to do much to stay rich all the need do is hold and invest in other start up projects that has good proposals and a very clear white paper. Real estate and Agriculture can also be another good point to channel some profit made from holding Bitcoin

They keep buying coins not because they just wanted to do it but because it's the right way to do to get more profits especially when the market is dipping and to maintain your status whether it's publicly or secretly. Buying and hodling are one of the many proven ways to gain profits in the future and that same profits being made from here on can be used to invest in other things like real estate or other assets to keep your money growing passively before buying lavish things.
2357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: September 06, 2022, 05:45:27 PM
If that happens, then I'll probably shift into some other crypto that has a better technology.
Although I don't believe Bitcoin could reach $1000, even if it reaches that level, do you think running to other coins is the best solution? What I know is that if Bitcoin could be battered that much, no other coins would survive it as well. They would at least be at their almost completely ruined levels too.

Well, that's right! When bitcoin falls that deep and reaching $1k then there is really a high chance that other cryptocurrencies in the market will follow as well, it's not that the other coins won't survive anymore because it will just recover again soon in a matter of time just like the bitcoin.

But let's say that it will happen, then that is the very best time to acquire a huge amount of bitcoins while the market is at a discounted price because we never know what will happen next, the bitcoin might recover in an instant or even reach another ATH. Just like I said, we never know Cool
2358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 06, 2022, 05:19:02 PM
Needless to say, everyone is predicting that this is going to be a match that will be won by Inoue.

100%, or if not maybe 95%.... Inoue is gonna win here, but if you will put a bet on him, don't expect an 50-50 bet, most likely your bet will only win less than 5%.
Let's say that there's the little percentage that Butler could win. The talks are that it will be like a lucky punch that will make him win this match.

Most of the upsets in boxing are made through lucky punches Grin Inoue is heavily favored to win, but that doesn't mean that Butler doesn't have a chance. There is always a chance and opportunity for underdogs like Butler to win. They just have to make things work and grab that little sliver of opportunity when it presents to them. Who knows, maybe Butler can knock out Inoue in one of those rounds and we will all be shocked in disbelief  Cheesy

A lucky punch is indeed the right term and what Butler needs to win this fight but based on chances, we can assume and predict that Inoue will dominate Butler in almost all rounds or even knock him out much earlier just like what Inoue did to Donaire recently. Though, we can say that Butler won't take that step because he knows that he will just end up laying down in the canvass.
2359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 06, 2022, 04:53:12 PM
I think he was that good, but Father Time is undefeated. When your game is built on the back of your athleticism, the aging process is never kind to your career as an athlete. Russell is going to suffer the same fate as an older Shawn Kemp. Unwilling to change his game and unable to perform to prior capabilities.

Honestly, I think Westbrook's poor performance last season wasn't due to aging but because of his unwillingness to somehow adapt his style of play to his new teammates, especially LeBron. So it seems to me Westbrook still has enough athleticism, but he needs to use his strengths differently instead of trying to make triple-doubles every game.

Nah! Aging wasn't the issue on Westbrook because we can still see at times that he is reacting quickly and still agile, the only reason I see is the same as yours, he is not adapting to what the team needs instead he is trying to make a highlight of himself. Westbrook should know by now that he is not the main star of the team anymore and do exactly what he is signed up for if he still want to play longer in the league.

He's still consistent on numbers of games so I don't think is an issue with him. He's been bashed badly and that totally affect him emotionally that's why we see his performance decline.

But for sure he can adjust next season if the teammates and the coaching staff will believe on his capabilities so that they can release a all star westbrook next season.

He's been bashed frequently because the fans can clearly see that he is still looking out for that right exposure before he gives the team some points when in fact that is not his job, this time he should do what his role state and only go overboard in the right phase because the lakers didn't sign him in to be the main alpha and clearly he is still struggling to accept his situation.

I've read a rumor that he is expected to see Lebron and AD for a pre-camp assessment before the whole team trains together, I think they will assess Westbrook for the last time before they get other players just like what the other trade rumors says.

As for Haney and Kambosos, the result is not determined yet but as for speculation, yes we might see a trilogy soon but Kambosos's chances is somehow lower compared to Haney. Kambosos will the same trouble piercing through the latter's defenses and he is not a KO artist, that makes the fight more harder.

Both Lomachenko and Haney are expected to win on their respective fights, that happened, we will see a big fight between them. Though I must say that Kambasos vs Haney is a big fight, but we cannot deny that people believe this fight is non sense as obviously Haney will still dominate again.

upset happens all the time, but with kambosos vs haney, i don't know if there will be upset this time. but anything can happen in the world of boxing. anyway, with the match between loma and ortiz, i am positive that loma will emerge as winner here. anyway, after knowing the results of their respective fights, that's when we can really speculate good, right?

Yes, anything can happen and we can't really know for sure if there will be some upset in Kambosos and Haney's rematch because I believe there won't be much of a difference this time, the latter will always find his own to dominate Kambosos that's why he is that confident to face Kambosos again in his own country and in front of his own people.
