Is this coin still mineable?  Where can I get an active wallet or view a block explorer?
2342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIT] Fitcoin ★ FIRST PROOF OF HUMAN WORK COIN ★ X11 on: June 24, 2014, 09:27:07 AM
What's POHW?

POHW = Proof Of Human Work

I actually was interested in the Proof of Human work.  I just read every post in the thread (231 of them) but I didn't see any mention of 'human work' until the last 2-3 posts.  Is this something that is implemented or going to be?  How does the reward and mining work?  I didn't see anything on the OP either....

Considering this is called 'fitcoin' I think it would probably help the coin's ego to do 'physical work' to earn coins.  But if the coin is already released, and it doesn't include POHW like the OP says, then its probably too late to add it.  Adding a major change like this after a coin launch usually doesn't settle well with the comunnity.  What's preventing the developers from making more adjustments (possibly in their favor) later on.

I'm hoping that POHW is already implemented... That's why I'm interested in this coin.

Groko's been doing some work on the POS miner through the YACoin client.  Looks like he found a world around to some of the long-term concerns.  I thought I would share the link here to increase awareness.  I believe he recently made a pull request to have this items added to the sourcecode.

Price already increased 1.32x...go yac! :p

It just got traded all of the way up to 3205 satoshi on Cryptsy - looks like someone bought a few hundred thousand YACs.
2345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] YACoin ongoing development on: June 05, 2014, 01:01:56 AM
I've been meaning to do some extensive testing in the power-efficiency arena. Rough calculation, it seems I am costing myself $0.25 per day on one rig by using this PSU. But at this point, 750B might be an overkill for me. I'm wondering if crappy riser cables also play a factor...
Not likely the riser cables, just efficiency of the power supply likely.  My other machine is on a Supernova 650 Gold - I bought nice re-usable components for the things that have a life after crypto mining...

Again, we can't predict exactly where the difficulty ends up right? It could be more or less when it settles. You assume the exact same miners from prior to the NFactor change. I say more, new miners will jump on board--optimism.
I think you're overly optimistic - with the way the hashrate fell for all cards that aren't 4GB cards, I would make you a gentlemans wager that we're going to see it below 50% what it was a week ago (1.08k per the mining software, 0.0164 difficulty).  If we settle above 500/0.0763 I would be shocked.  My best cards dropped 60%, my worst 70% and   I'm going to hypothesize that all CPU's dropped by 50%.  So, unless, as you say, there is an influx of new miners, a 60%+ drop in difficulty should not be a surprise.

I think majority of the hashrate was coming from GPUs as well.  I'm a CPU miner and I can confirm that I had a drop of 45-55% in all of my hashrates with the last n-increase.  I too think we will see a very low (if not a record low) difficulty once it is stabilized. With all of the new coin 'attempts' I think people are going to start valuing the stability, and ASIC resistant properties for YAC.  With the larger block reward (from the lower difficulty) I think we will see new miners.
2346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] YACoin ongoing development on: June 02, 2014, 04:23:00 AM
YAC has a maximum difficulty adjustment of 1% per block.  So it takes a little while for the difficulty to even out.

In previous N-factor increases, it usually took 1-3 days for the difficulty to stabilize.

That is good.   Smiley

There is a sharp drop of the number of miners (like 50%), probably because the sharp drop of profitability due to temporary high diff. I do hope they come back after the transition period.

Well I am trying to GPU mine this for the first time with a rig that has 2 HD 7790 cards and 2 R9 270 cards. Anyone got any good configurations for either?

Thirtybird would be your guy for GPU mining.  He wrote the mining scripts and then re-optimized them several times over.  There might be some setting floating out in the yacointalk forum too.

Historically after an N-increase, the number of miners goes down until the difficulty stabilizes.  They usually come back and often times even more join them (because of the larger block reward).  The block reward is already up to 51 YACs per block.

stats&graphs page is suspended until further notice (until i get some good explorer up and running)

the yac raffle if cancelled (it's not like millions of people used it anyway)

I did really like the stats/graphs - I referenced them often.  I'm happy to hear they'll be back.  Smiley

And the raffle was kind of tucked away.  I forgot it was there most of the time.  But, it would be nice to have some kind of 'lottery' or 'dice' game for YAC.

Now 11 hours later the block time is 3min and there are 616 blocks to go. There will be 30 hours before the difficulty drop (to 0.005). Difficulty has (hopefully temporarily ) reached escape velocity.. this has better not become the beginning of vicious difficulty cycles:  difficulty drops to the floor when retargetting -> miners dive in and mine like there is no tomorrow -> difficulty goes through the roof and retarget-> miners leave and mining almost stops  -> slow confirmation time -> difficulty drops to floor -> long wait -> repeat

difficulty adjusts every block

How come the block time is almost 3 min for so long ? It should go back to ~1min soon after the N change, right?

YAC has a maximum difficulty adjustment of 1% per block.  So it takes a little while for the difficulty to even out.

In previous N-factor increases, it usually took 1-3 days for the difficulty to stabilize.

difficulty adjusts every block, and it will be on a downward plummet for a day or two.  Look at what it did for NF=14 - it was a veritable roller coaster of ups and downs, but no huge swings that it couldn't come back from...

Yeah, I think most mining pools use the litecoin difficulty adjustment calculations (because it is already built into the pool 'template').  I find myself looking at it quite often, but then I have to remind myself YAC adjusts each block.  It would be nice to see the actually next block estimated difficulty in pools though...

Just a little over 30 minutes before NFactor of 15 becomes our new life for the next few months!

Who's as excited as I am?  Cool

EDIT: Woohoo, it's here!  Miners adapted and no hiccups Smiley

I'm seeing about half of my regular mining speed on my CPU miners.  Are you getting about half of your N = 14 hashrate with your GPUs?
2351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] YACoin ongoing development on: May 31, 2014, 02:02:33 AM
As far as my data goes, it looks like you guessed it. My data is coming from a live
yacoind executable in server mode that I query using a yacoind executable in client mode
doing RPC calls to the server. It's pretty simple really. But g-damn it's fast. I added
address balance tracking that keeps up to the minute with every new block and responds to
a block chain reorganize. I have a new top 1000 list of addresses that is also kept up to
date on the fly. Check it out here: http://explore.grokonet.com/?top1000=1

I just check this out.  It is really fast.  It's even quicker then trying to find a transaction through my YAC qt wallet!

I'm currently mining jackpotcoin, and buying coins with the proceeds...but I might go back to straight yacoin after N 15 is here. Cheesy

It will be here before we know it.  Smiley

Are you mining this coin with a CPU ?
I am.  I haven't redid the calculations recently, but YAC was the most profitable CPU coin to mine for the longest time.  It might be worth someone to make a calculator to show the 'most profitable CPU coin.'  If I have time I can try to give it a crack.
2354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [BOUNTY] YAC Multipool -100k YAC Bounty!!! on: May 25, 2014, 08:29:28 PM
There is a thread about the new pool.  I posted some of my concerns on there.  If you guys have a chance, please take a look and see if I'm page with what the bounty holders were looking for.

2355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL][MULTI][YAC][DRK][LTC][KRYP][requests] Brooks Pool open! on: May 25, 2014, 12:48:31 AM
I'm excited to see this.  But I think a couple of things may need to be upgraded/changed.

1) Under the 'getting started' page, it says to download the 'NOMP App,' but when I click it, it says the app is still in development???

2) I know you mentioned that there isn't a need to make an account in order to log on to begin mining, but how frequent are the payouts?  I usually have my automatic YAC payout at 500-5000, so I don't have thousands of 1 YAC transactions (which gets heavy on fees and his most difficult to mint POS).

3) The multipools I've seen before allowed the user to pump in SHA/scrypt hashpower and get out the coin of their choice.  I'm thinking like scryptguild or multipool, where it converts to the coin of your choose.  (I might be wrong but) I think that's what the community was looking for.  The ability to the 'most profitable coin' and have it converted, and be payed in, YACoin.
2356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] YACoin ongoing development on: May 25, 2014, 12:44:52 AM
Yacoin is pretty awesome, the coin parameters and community are brilliant.
It's a shame it isn't more popular.

If only it had launched not as a fork but as a stand-alone coin written from the ground up, it would no doubt be one of the strongest coins.

Now, if only someone can take scrypt-chacha type PoW and use it in a brand new type of crypto technology coin unlike Bitcoin or CryotoNote protocol, then it would be unstoppable.

YACoin will be unstoppable.  Just wait and see....

Thanks to Cypherious and YAChoarder on the yacoin forums, the YAC multipool bounty is now up to 100,000 YAC! At current prices, when converted, that is about $500 USD.

I received a PM that this may have been completed!

doesn't seem to be working atm

I'm not having any luck with it either...
2358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [BOUNTY] YAC Multipool on: May 22, 2014, 07:42:06 AM
The Bounty is at 100,000 YAC now, which is equivalent to over 1 XBT or $500 USD, as of May 21, 2014.

I'll update the OP.  This is great news!  Smiley
2359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [BOUNTY] YAC Multipool on: May 16, 2014, 02:56:04 PM
Update:  Bounty has been updated to 58,000 YAC!

WM - I withdraw YAC to my wallet about once a week from Cryptsy.  I haven't had any issues with 'major' issues with any recent withdrawals.  The only recent hiccup was about a month ago; a transaction got hung up for about 12 hours - I submitted a ticket and they said they were aware of the issue - I think they were updating their wallet.

Ah, there, it finally happened after sitting stuck in "pending" status in Cryptsy's queue for 20 hours.  It was just a small 10K YAC test purchase and withdrawal to see if Cryptsy had everything working before I acquire more.  So, party on!  Lets see if I can acquire a "megaYAC" over the next month or two.

I purchased, and withdrew, 2k YAC this morning - no issues, it came right through.

A MegaYac?  Planning to buy a million coins? Smiley
