What's the specific problem with VISA in Canada? WalMart operates all over the world, and so Canada must be singled out for a reason. Does the article mention this ? (prefer not to drive any traffic to Wall Street Journal if I can help it)
It is likely to be extended to all sites. While the fees charged by Mastercard and Visa to most customers are similar, Mastercard offers discounts to large retailers.

New Civil Asset Forfeiture Tool Makes Bitcoin Even More PowerfulBy swiping a debit, credit or prepaid card through the machine, police can view the suspect’s account information, and freeze or transfer money in the account associated with the card. According to RT America, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol bought 16 ERAD machines and began using them in May 2016, taking money from people without warrants. Local Oklahoma news station KWTV reports that Highway Patrol officers can use the ERAD to freeze or confiscate money whenever there is “probable cause.” However, as with all civil asset forfeiture policies, police are not required to obtain a warrant or charge the suspect with a crime to take their funds. READ MORE >>> https://news.bitcoin.com/civil-asset-forfeiture-bitcoin/ How can they seize money from a credit card? I wonder what happens when you have a bitcoin debit card like Xapo? Are the bitcoins converted to fiat and then seized?

Hi,
This 1,5 week the BTC had trouble breaking through the 588$ barrier, and after watching football last night, I check the BTC price and got surprised in a very positive way: $610$ and climbing. At the moment it is 630$+
We are getting closer and closer to halving, what pricerange do you guys expect at 1 July?
I expect it to cross $700 by 1 July. There is some kind of frenzy in the market now. Whether it is the halving or whether it is the speculators in China, they are all massively pushing up the price.

Is it possible that Bitcoin can be deposited in the banks in the near future? I mean like any other currencies that can be deposited and withdraw in the banks.
It is now happening in our country! We have an online bitcoin wallet that is affliated with various banks. We can also pay bills using our wallet. Transaction fee is actually low to none. The best wallet in my opinion. Does it pay interest? If not, I will feel safer with my coins in cold storage. You are just taking a big risk for the sake of convenience.

i think you should just say them that the fiat is actually worthless and they will be broke soon
That is false and would probably make you lose the argument. It is no different from blanket statements like "Bitcoin is only used by drug dealers"

Bitcoin has attracted mainstream traders even before this bull run. The market for cryptos is not very efficient and there are opportunities for traders to make easy profits.

There are multiple measures of liquidity and volume is just one of them. Market depth (number of oustanding orders) and slippage (effect of executing an order on market price) should also be taken into consideration.

It is not a Bitcoin horror story, it is just a horror story. I expect university systems to be more secure than this.

You also have to show your ID card, write your name, address etc. With Bitcoin you don't need to show your ID card, show or write your name and fees are not high as with WU.
It is your government (through Western Union) which is asking for all those details. Even if a company uses Bitcoin (in the back end) to process remittances, they will still ask for all those details.

A class action lawsuit filed against troubled bitcoin startup KnCMiner is proceeding despite a recent legal setback and a bankruptcy filing by the firm. According to emails provided to CoinDesk, lawyers representing the most prominent of several class action lawsuits filed against KnC have entered a claim against its bankruptcy estate in Sweden. Further, they indicated the group has provided information to local law enforcement in an attempt to ensure the firm can provide customer reparations. http://www.coindesk.com/class-action-lawsuit-resumes-defunct-bitcoin-miner-knc/'I am surprised that the debate is whether KnC customers are businesses or 'consumers'. In an ideal world, the protection afforded to both classes of customers should be identical. Unfortunately, the laws don't seem to agree.

bye bye USD hopefully. Good to see gold move with bitcoin. It is too early to say goodbye to the USD. But with quantitative easing and the huge debt of the United States, I wouldn't be surprised if the rot has already set in.

now price is a lot stable... unfortunately dont have any BTC
Stable for a few hours maybe? The bitcoin price is very dynamic now. We are just inching to break out. The block reward halving has generated a lot of expectations.

These trading volumes are unreliable. With 0% transaction volumes, a couple of people can generate volumes of 1m (at no cost) by trading amongst themselves.

21 BTC is not enough for my retirement. So I am going to hold this for a longer time.
If I take 1 BTC as $450 then 21 BTC will fetch me 9450 USD which is equal to 6.33 Million in my currency. I may be able to buy a superbike but nothing else.
It depends on how many years, you have left for retirement. In 20 years, it just might be sufficient.

Investing your life savings in Bitcoin is fool hardy. If you have worries about the depreciation of fiat, look for other asset classes - bonds, equity, real estate.

The first half isn't over yet. In the 26 days left, we can reach a new landmark. We know the push that came in the last week of May.

Fever seems to be mild word for Bitcoin's rise. The bulls seem to be running away with the game now.

2016 has the halving, 2017 does not. That could make the difference. May to July is going to be the real highlight of 2016.

Is Tim Draper going to step up again? He shouldn't have any difficulty in absorbing these coins.
