Binance CEO Claims a Quarter of a Million New Users in One Hour

Binance trading volumes in the last 24 hours totalled almost 6 billion USD.

In an interview with Bloomberg television, the CEO of Binance revealed the flabbergasting extent of demand for cryptocurrency trading.

Binance is the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange. Founded in China, it recently relocated to Tokyo after its native government banned cryptocurrency exchanges.  On the fifth on January, a message appeared on its site informing users that it was temporarily disabling user registration “due to the overwhelming surge in popularity”.

In an interview with Bloomberg, CEO Zhao Chanpeng said that after re-opening registration, 240,000 people registered in one hour, “so we’re growing basically by a couple of million every week”.

Binance took its first breaths about 5 months ago, and it was just after Christmas that it announced having reached 3 million users. Yesterday it announced 5 million. According to Coinmarketcap, it is the most heavily used cryptocurrency exchange in the world right now, processing $5,851,344,587 in the last 24 hours alone.

of course many are enrolled in the binance because binance provides a very high price range from other markets and the binance seems to be a good market and has a very high trading volume.
Not sure if you are watching what already talked by OP. Due to the high demand for icos and a lot of people are looking for the safe place to trade their assets in there. Binance seems only exchange site that has been providing not strict regulation and agreement to the users, that's why a lot of people are interested in it.
2362  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Convert your BTC to LTC/ETH ASAP on: January 14, 2018, 06:43:22 AM
Converting some may be a good idea as many altcoin is showing positive sign but if you’re converting all your BTC to another coin, you may regret it later once BTC break another record.

There is really nothing wrong converting our btc to other altcoins but it should be done in a strategic manner and btc should always be the base currency - meaning, at the end of the day, you will going to convert back to bitcoin and get the profit.
It may better for you to read all of the sentences that have been writing by OP, bitcoin is consuming a lot of energy just to secure the network through a lot of the mining rig. Op was realizing about that.
And then another reason how the block of bitcoin make bitcoin looks like a terrible place to make your transaction. Rather than use bitcoin as a payment and i'd liked to call that as a store value.
2363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bittrex Support is out of order! on: January 12, 2018, 11:02:32 PM
Sometimes, I do feel sorry for all these types of accounts. But on the other hand, my entire life, I have never made a mistake that people seem to do all the time:

1. Type wrong name (how do you ever mistype your own name?).
2. Deposit to wrong address. Also, I am always confused by this. Every time I make a deposit, I copy paste the deposit address. I double check, and when you click send, it even asks you to confirm. It takes 2 seconds to double check each time, so a total of 6 seconds if you check 3 times and different stages.

So I do not know if I should feel sorry for people who make these silly mistakes. It starts with your daily life. If you do not care enough, maybe you should not expect others to.

yes normally i double check everything too but this time i though eth adress includes all erc 20 tokens like on binance. ( eth.+ wabi+ trx+and so on...+... have all the same adresses) bittrex handle this on a different way... every token has a unique adress and i was in hurry so i send to eth and dont check this time... failed. my mistake. But i am angry of the support stuff. No reply and promised me they will credit my funds in several weeks.

My understanding is Bittrex makes tens of Millions each day in profits, their running costs by comparison would only be a fraction of that. The fact that they can't keep up is understandable after a large increase in customers for a short while, but months and months of falling behind without any improvement is ridiculous, especially when they can easily afford the extra cost of staff and training.

Surely they would have created a system that identifies a token sitting in an address that should only hold ethereum and surely they can automate it so it returns the tokens to sender automatically (subtracting a fee to cover gas + 1% cut or something).

Yes it takes time to fix this issue (10 minutes verifying transaction, token address, etc the about 10 minutes to send token back), but not only can they recover the costs from providing support, gas, etc, they should be focusing on getting these funds on their exchange and trade able so they can profit from the trades.

Thanks for you advise i will follow it Smiley

thanks everyone for your help and have a nice weekend Smiley

replied twice to the ticket since 9.th january but no reply
If you have enhanced account and then you are able to join in the bittrex slack group. There are so many people are complaining every day and they don't even get resolved. My thought that you can try to search someone that already joined in the bittrex slack and then send you an invitation to join in the bittrex slack group.
2364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thing to check about ICO? on: January 12, 2018, 10:56:49 PM
Has anyone heard anything about Cointed (CTD)? They recently announced their partnership with Nvidia and TAS Group. This ICO project might be a big thing, especially when the company behind it has executed the launch of multiple Crypto ATMs in Europe and is also conducting green mining. Any opinions?
But it's not gaining a lot of interest, I will to do my own research about that. In my view that the community behind cointed is not big as you said. It looks the partnership is not giving a lot of interest from the investors. This is my early prediction about cointed but i will move to another promising ico if i can rather than follows cointed.
2365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should hold or sell Tron TRX? on: January 12, 2018, 10:52:39 PM
Day by day it's value is dropping, should I get rid of them or hold them for long term? Is there any bright future as I don't see any purpose this coin is going to serve!!!
Developer lies to the traders, the whitepaper just a plagiarism from another project. And both should become a very good reason to sell all of your tron and then move to another promising project. This just the matter of time until the more thing will be revealed to the public. How the developer just like a liar.
2366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your way to find most promising ICOs? on: January 12, 2018, 10:49:22 PM
For me it's a mix of everything: bitcointalk, youtube, facebook, and telegram. I just see what people are talking about and research. Every so often I hear about gems like ITC too and those are usually on the huge groups on telegram.
There is only one or even two person that makes an interested review about icos, There is so many bot account on facebook or twitter.  I don't agree with you at all. The effective source to find a lot of information regarding ico is through bitcointalk, reddit or social media group just like telegram. And you will see so many people are discussing that.
2367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO - Getting Expensive than ever on: January 11, 2018, 10:52:50 PM
Hello everyone,

I was talking to couple of genuine entrepreneurs who have issued ICO. They are saying that the market has been very tough as there is so many ICO , many scammers who are willing to spend money to advertise and expand their reach.

This has led small entrepreneurs to suffer. How can we help with this problem , any suggestions ?

Do your research and follow big community will become a very good though. I meant a big community gives you a lot of discussion about the icon. Because the majority of the participant is not only you. And another people will try to do their research too and then you can try start to discuss a sketchy thing in the ico. It may better for you.
2368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Hodlers! Congratulations! on: January 11, 2018, 10:47:30 PM
ETH showed excellent growth over the past 2 months, but this is not the limit, I thought in the first quarter of 2018, its price will rise to 1500-2000 $. I'll keep it.
It does look like the price of Ethereum is going to increase to $2,000.00 really soon. I only have a few Ethereum though.

Welcome to the beginning!!! Ethereum roadmap 2.0 already planned and there will be a significant improvement to the network. And all of ethereum developers working in casper network and plasma. That will become something big to be watched by everyone in here. The price should be doubled after the improvements.
2369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherscan Down? on: January 11, 2018, 10:45:25 PM
Etherscan.io is currently offline and should be back up shortly.

Thank you.

This is what my browser is showing when I want to access Etherscan. Is this general issue ? or I am the only one seeing this
Yes it is, due to the ethereum network congestion. i think that there will be more improvement to the etherscan. As far as i know that etherscan is the only one that brings so many accurate data rather than another explorer just like ethplorer.io it may be back again as fast as possible. But this is sucks without any announcement about that.
2370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ERC 20 TOKEN STANDARD TO BE REPLAED BY NEW ERC223 STANDARD ??? on: January 11, 2018, 10:43:37 PM
The ERC20 token standard has become famous for its role in creating new cryptocurrencies on top of Ethereum, which are usually sold to the public in ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings). In 2017, ERC20 tokens have already raised more than $1B from the public. But the ERC20 standard has several drawbacks which a new standard, ERC223, aims to repair:

1.The lost token problem - when people send funds to a contract by using the transfer function (instead of approve and transferFrom), funds are lost and cannot be retrieved. The ERC20 standard doesn’t include a refund function for these cases and the transferred tokens are lost. So far this implementation has resulted in the loss of $400,000 worth of Ether.
For example if you send 100 ETH to a contract that is not intended to work with Ether, then it will reject a transaction and nothing bad will happen. If you will send 100 ERC20 tokens to a contract that is not intended to work with ERC20 tokens, then it will not reject tokens because it cant recognize an incoming transaction. As the result, your tokens will get stuck at the contracts balance.

How much ERC20 tokens are currently lost (27 Dec, 2017):

QTUM, $1,204,273 lost. watch on Etherscan

EOS, $1,015,131 lost. watch on Etherscan

GNT, $249,627 lost. watch on Etherscan

STORJ, $217,477 lost. watch on Etherscan

Tronix , $201,232 lost. watch on Etherscan

DGD, $151,826 lost. watch on Etherscan

OMG, $149,941 lost. watch on Etherscan

STORJ, $102,560 lost. watch on Etherscan

2.Energy waste - In ERC223, token transfer is a one-step instead of two-step process, using 2 times less gas and causing less blockchain bloat.

3.Allowing developers to handle incoming token transactions - For instance, allowing to automatically return funds to source.

.......
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ?? ARE THERE ALREADY SOME ICOs working on ERC223 ?? i so far know only one Cheesy   Wink ...
I remember mobile go was using erc223 standard compliant token but the majority of exchange sites are not supporting it and it makes exchange sites are not able to list erc233 to their exchange sites due to the technical problem.
Only a little bug already fixed in erc223 token.
2371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening to XRP and TRX now? on: January 11, 2018, 10:40:08 PM
Thanks for your comments guys. I really appreciate it. I just do hope that they will pump back up soon despite so much FUD. Goodluck to all of you and have a good one!  Smiley
It will be pumping back asap, don't worry it's just the matter of time but i'm feeling doubt about tron project caused by so many people are accused tron project caused by the developer lies and plagiarism of whitepaper. It's turned into serious accusation and then i just leave from there.
2372  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the biggest problem with EXCHANGES right now? on: January 05, 2018, 11:27:53 AM
My biggest problem with crypto exchanges are high cost in withdrawal transactions. As exchanges are considered to be susceptible to attacks I will feel safer if my investments are in my wallets. Having said that, transaction fees in general should come down if crypto currencies trading is to pick up pace.
The transaction fees will be straight with the price of the currency itself, Remember when ripple cost about less than $0.01 and the fees was really cheap but ripple growth $3.4 for each coin and that makes the fees become ridiculous at all. But as long as the exchange site still able to manage their users and that will be fine
2373  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia turning into a scam? on: January 05, 2018, 11:03:22 AM
Many exchanges are really going under duress right now. I have a pending withdrawal of ETHEREUM coming from hitbtc and it's 24 hours and I still haven't received my ETH and ETH is supposed to be faster than Bitcoin. The problem with these exchanges is they want to profit form the fees and they charge big fees but they use little gas to send our monies and it's frustrating, so Cryptopia ain't the only exchange with problems now. sigh.
is the withdrawal button in hitbtc already available? I have some amounts in hitbtc but due to the team already disabled the withdraw button and then i can't cash out my money from there.
But hitbtc gives the latest update about due to the network congested of ethereum and then all of the ethereum transaction become pending. But it looks true in my opinion. https://etherscan.io/txsPending
2374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: YOBIT on: January 05, 2018, 10:59:41 AM
They have a lot of UI bugs that benefits the exchange. They have tons of negative reviews and issues like withdrawal problems, selling and buying at the wrong price with ridiculously large errors. Besides that, customer is shit, almost as if they're just picking when and who to help.
I think i need to take the risk because my token is in yobit only  Thankyou for information.
But it may better for you to hit and run, We are not giving any recommendation for you to trade in there. Becuase there are so many complaints about the majority of the withdrawal process, but good luck for you i hope your trade will be running for well.
2375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favourite small cap, mid cap alts ? on: January 03, 2018, 11:03:56 AM
Hello guys I'm just curious, what small/mid cap projects are you watching and why?
Here's my choice, bitclave, universa, zilliqa, qlink all of them not even listed in the exchange site but I remember bitclave alreayd listed on the bibox exchange site and consider about the total supply and that's very easy to the moon soon. But I never try to see those midcap alts.
2376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Siacoin is going down? on: January 03, 2018, 11:01:16 AM
It seems that whatever coin I touch it goes down. Now wondering why Siacoin as it was doing well until I bought it. Sad
Because you are buying it at the peak if you do not know about TA and FA analyzation and you must go to the reliable site and then try to learn a lot about that. this was obviously true how you buy all of your assets at peak, and can't be patience waiting for that asset goes down soon. it's really wrong.
2377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta Token sale, will you buy it? on: January 01, 2018, 10:24:56 PM
Etherdelta is running a token sale, will you buy it and do you think is worth it. Why don't they focus on security of the website first , People have complained after the website compromised of their stolen tokens and Ethers yet nothing is done, and here they are running a token sale.
Because they are operating etherdelta without taking anything from the users. Remember etherdelta just a decentralized exchange which all of the transaction used the gas fees to pay the network.
i will pick up some coin and i hope there is utility usage for such token. Hopefully, etherdelta will develop such as future platform in the future. But if the token will be useless and then i will stay away,
2378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do when you invested all your portfolio in a coin and it looses 90% on: January 01, 2018, 04:01:34 PM
I recently invested in a coin which had been all over twitter with positive news about it, i quick went in all with my portfolio and am now 90%, am confused whether to hold or take the rest and move on with life.
Just hold it for the long term investment, That will be so bad if you are trying to cut loss your investment. Just wait until it will go to the moon again or at least to minimize your loss on there. Be patient and just keep your coin for long term and you will not regret it. Because to get back your lost is not easy as the people said.
2379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Price Prediction in January? on: January 01, 2018, 03:39:51 PM
Hey Guys! I see that the price of ripple is stagnant for the past 2 days ... around $2.1 - $2.3 . What do think is gonna happen from here?
Honestly, i was seeing the ripple chart and it looks very stable right now. This is just my prediction but it looks ripple gonna increase asap. Because the correction already happened and then it seems to be a very good thing to see about the fact that there is a chance to the price will increase more than now.
2380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance makes it to Tabtrader on: January 01, 2018, 01:20:44 PM
I am still wondering why bigger and older exchanges like coinexchange and others are yet to get listed on the tabtrader while a new comer like binance is there now. Does this mean that binance is better off than these exchanges?
Remember there is a binance token that supports the binance as become the utility token for the binance exchange site. Binance comes with so many features and responsibility with their customer service. that's different with an old exchange that hasn't seriously try to make the future development roadmap. Look at 24 hours of volume in exchange site at coinmarketcap and then you will see the truth.
