This and the last election were and are interesting for one simple reason. The Democrats won with Bill Clinton and Obama because of personal magnetism and charisma.

Hillary had none of that.

Biden has zero.

Harris has zero.
I would have to agree with this.

During the long primary season, Democrats seemed hell bent on nominating an extremist. I would describe pretty much all of those who made it to the first primary as unelectable.
2362  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Kamala Harris satisfy progressives? on: August 17, 2020, 03:48:46 AM
Biden has moved far to the left, and the DNC picking Harris for Biden makes the Democratic ticket the most radical ticket of a major party ever. The DNC is trying to hide how far the ticket is by trying to hide the most outspoken radicals; see how AOC is only getting a minute of speaking time for example.

She should easily get the progressive vote. The question is if Biden/Harris will turn off the moderate wing of the Democratic party. The DNC propaganda machine is trying hard to paint her as a moderate so to not turn off moderate democrats and independents.

I think Sanders has really screwed the Democrats, now two election cycles in a row. If it were not for Sanders, the DNC could have picked someone more moderate to be Biden's VP pick.
2363  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: August 17, 2020, 03:39:40 AM
Kamala Harris is an authoritarian just like Trump. Threatening state violence (the police) for children not going to school.
Trump is pushing for children to get educated. Democrats are pushing for children to go without school, which will lead to higher death rates from children (stemming from things like suicide, and stress), less education for children, and higher unemployment for parents. This is a very strange stance for an 'authoritian' to take.

Universal healthcare is good both for the health of the people but also for the free market. Here's why. Our current system has fake inflated prices.
Universial healthcare is the opposite of the free market. You literally have no choice as to what level of care you receive, nor do any providers have any incentive to provide a comparatively high level of care. You don't hear about people going to Europe to receive treatment for a reason -- this is because socialist healthcare is inferriror to capalatist healthcare. Prices for healthcare are high in the US for two reasons: 1, nearly all of healthcare is paid for by a third party, so most consumers are not price sensitive when receiving care, and 2, foreign governments force healthcare providers, including international providers to sell their drugs, goods and services cheaply in their countries, and international healthcare companies need to make up for selling at the artificially depressed prices in those countries.

Yes, all the people in the country deserve healthcare, yes that includes illegal immigrants, criminals, everyone. The whole resource money argument is invented when it comes to that.
They can pay for it if they want it. Just like every other good or service available for purchase.

Open borders? Citation needed. Where and how is she for open borders. I seriously doubt that.
citation. Closing detention centers, and allowing all illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship is defacto open borders.

And mark my words the coming climate disaster will kill and displace millions of people during our lifetimes. As long as you live another 30-50 years to really start experiencing it. During this decade we'll see another arctic ice all time low, every year it's more probable then the last, and eventually a blue ocean event. And the climate will start getting very different. More droughts, floods, hurricanes, fires, sea level rise, you name it. Some places will become unlivable. Some places will become impoverished.
...

I'm going to assume that like most people who've fallen victim to the climate scare scam, you are ignorant of the fact that the arctic has been free of sea ice even in the holocene:

Here is an article from 1989 talking about a warning from the UN about "entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels" if global warming is not solved by 2000. Is anyone able to remind me which nations have been wiped off the planet due to rising sea levels?

I think it's pretty clear Trump is approaching the debates the same as the election.

Ignore all advice and try to wing it... yes, please. His Fox interview was wonderfully deranged so hopefully he'll debate Biden the same way.
How have Biden's interviews been going recently? When was the last time he had a reporter be even moderately tough on him?

Does Biden even know how to hold an iPhone?

Harris is in no way moderate. By some metrics, she is to the left of Sanders who is widely seen in the Democratic Party as unelectable.

Some people are saying that she is one reason why we have the Bill of Rights, although if Democrats win the Senate and Congress along with the Presidency, we probably won’t have Bill of Rights anymore. She is willing to do anything for power, regardless of anyone’s pesky constitutional rights.

Left of Sanders? You seriously believe that?

If anything Kamala Harris is a conservative.

Harris is in no way moderate. By some metrics, she is to the left of Sanders

Am I missing a joke, like her desk in the senate was to Bernies left or something?
Harris is not a Republican, nor is she a moderate. She is an extremist.

She is in favor of mandatory gun confescation ("buybacks"). She wants to ban private health insurance via Medicare for All, including "full benefits" for illegal immigrants, which is not possible because finate healthcare resources would quickly be depleted by a surge in additional illegal immigrants coming to the US in need of healthcare. She is in favor of open borders. She wants college to be "free" for everyone (which really means far left colleges would get unlimited money from the Federal Government to indoctrinate young adults). She wants to restrict workers' rights to not join a union.

I could go on...
2366  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: August 13, 2020, 05:41:23 PM
There is an argument for a 4th debate in which Trump debates Harris and Pence debates Biden. This would allow Americans to see a contrast between who would be president if their candidate were to be elected.

Is this coming from Trump/Rudy?  I can't find anything other than that letter Rudy sent requesting all new dates, a 4th Biden/Trump debate and hand picked moderators.
This is my idea. It is clear Biden will be a figurehead President if elected (who probably won’t even be able to serve a full term as a figurehead), and it would only be fair to the American people that the policies of the two people who will act as President in a debate.

Quote
They've also already laid some good ground work by claiming over and over that Biden doesn't want to debate him and is trying to get out of it (fabricated) for when he makes his inevitable ridiculous requests and Biden says no.
There are many prominent Democrats who are calling for Biden to not debate Trump.

This should be pretty self-explanatory.

Post memes about Joe Biden.....

Who???

This guy:

The person who just selected Harris as his running mate:

I’ve never received a single payment from sportsbet.io

I’ve been working with sportsbet for years & consider a number of the guys there as friends.

Bitcasino.io and Sportsbet.io are owned by the same company.
Your statement that you have “ never received a single payment from sportsbet.io” is very misleading at best. By your own statement, you have been “working with sportsbet for years” and are wearing a signature (presumably getting paid for doing so) of a sister company that shares common ownership with SB.

While it is possible to get infected with malware by clicking on a link, I would not take what Side Chain says at face value without evidence. He may have hacked bitcoingirl.club, but I would not assume so without evidence.

This should not distract from the very troubling messages that were disclosed. From their own description of what they were doing, some people were “shilling” for SB, and asked at least one person to lie about why they were taking a stance in favor of a company they were receiving payment from.

My post contained the correct spelling. That word has always been spelled that way, and always will be.

Remember:
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength

This is all true in a Biden/Harris administration.

Joe Biden picking Kamala Harris. How anti-climatic.
Does Harris still think that Biden is racist?

Before she dropped out, Harris was running a very bad campaign. She is very divisive and transnational.

I think SM looses the bet.

Biden is so close to picking a VP nominee that he can smell her.

In the process, they appear to be harming their food supply, which will make them be less aggressive against other countries, such as the US as China will need to depend on the rest of the world for food.

So you feel a nation that is starving, or thirsting, will become less aggressive?

Just the opposite.
Famine in Japan preceded their surrender at the end of world war 2.

China can provide its citizens sufficient food, but bit will need to import it, making them reliant on other countries. Being reliant on other countries for food makes it risky to attack those countries because if you are not successful, you may find yourself at the beginning of famine.

Lack of food can also destabilize a government. Remember that the Chinese people depend on the CCP for their food.
2379  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there a list of members of the forum (preferably trusted) with ln nodes? on: August 10, 2020, 07:28:58 PM

I've always wanted to run "something" that can fund any (small) LN payment request posted on the forum within seconds. I already check all posts, but need the LN side of it to work.
If you have something reading the content of each post, you would want to write a function to check if the content has a LN payment request, and if so, copy the URI of the request. Next, you would write a function that checks the request amount and returns the URI if it is above a threshold. Next, write a function that makes a RPC call to your LN wallet to find the payment request.

You would pass each post as follows:
fn3(fn2(fn1(post text)))

Current projections from ABC sho GA, NC and AZ as closest races...and they don't matter.

That map shows Biden flipping every battle ground state, making GA a toss up, that hasn’t voted Democrat in two decades, and makes TX a lean trump state, that hasn’t voted Democrat in four decades (and no democrat has come within 10 points of winning in at least two decades).

Frankly, at best that map is wishful thinking and more realistically that map is fantasy.
