2361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitconnect is Dead.... :( on: January 18, 2018, 06:21:34 PM
Its a big loss for all new investors of that Bitconnect. Its hard to pick a good coin to invest now because of this happenings, Im afraid now to lose my money. So many investors and community believed in their project but they pulled it all to the ground. This is the saddest scam project I've ever heard. But i see there are some lucky who sold it early and its a trauma for all investors.
No person with even half a brain believed in BitConnect. It was pretty much the dictionary definition of a ponzi scheme. And no, it's not hard to pick a good coin, in fact it's pretty damn easy. It just takes time and discipline to properly research projects without listening to baseless fanatical hype.

ANOTHER copy paste coin? Seriously?
For me this is a big red flag. I dont understand how people are oblivious to this but dont say you havent been warned.

Another copy paste coin? ....yes, as are 90% of coins on the market today. Doesn't mean they can't be profitable though. I got in at $0.50/coin. Now have 4 masternodes running and have already pulled out my original investment. The point is, just because a coin is a copy of another, doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam or a bad investment.
Im not saying that. Im saying that this particular coin is by the same dev that is essentially abandoning the old coin to do the same thing all over (ico bonus money included) all over. That you made your money back from this ponzi scheme like attitude doesnt make it any better.
People like him will end up suicidal once the market retreats and they realize that they wasted their time buying up shitcoins that will evaporate over night. This is a recurring theme in the world of finance for as long as money has existed.
2363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟[ANN][ICO] Coinlancer.io CL - Freelancers Of The World Unite - ICO| 14th OCT🌟 on: January 18, 2018, 06:15:55 PM
most of cryptocurrency is down now,,
and the price of coinlancer is less than ICO price now,,
do you think this is a good time to buy ?

No it's not. CL controls more than 80% of the total coin supply. It's never a good time to buy this scam.

too bad if this project is scam,,
but i read this in coinlancer official website

Jan 17 2018
1. Current Circulating supply (CL) => 58,888,982
2. Team tokens => 15,000,000
3. Unsold tokens => 226,111,018
4. Bonus* => 11,777,797 (taken from team tokens)
5. Team tokens remaining => 3,222,203
6. Tokens to be locked => 229,333,221
7. Final Circulating supply => 70,666,779
*Bonus : We are allocating 11.77 million tokens as bonus (taken from team’s 15 million tokens). This bonus will be distributed among those who hold the CL tokens until the fully functional Coinlancer Product becomes live.

=> Announcement regarding the bonus distribution, steps to claim the bonus & product updates will be given soon.

how can the team control about 80% of total supply if we read in their statements ?
Tokens locked, eh?

https://etherscan.io/token/0xe81d72d14b1516e68ac3190a46c93302cc8ed60f

It's clear that they have access to these, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to draw from the address which currently holds the supposedly locked 229m tokens. Plus, even if they were locked, they wouldn't be locked forever, and once they became unlocked (if they aren't already which appears to be the case), they would control just over 76% of the total supply.

You can not rationally expect a team that has repeatedly lied not to dump such a massive amount of tokens while making up excuses.

There have been red flags all over this fraud since its very inception and they keep increasing.
2364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitconnect is Dead.... :( on: January 18, 2018, 02:11:30 PM
Honnestly i don't understand why people keep buying this... Don't they look news about the project before invest on it ?

Bitconnect has said they would like to price the BCC coin at $150 on their bitconnectX exchange when it opens.  People may be buying in hopes that they fill follow through.  They have said they would like to make people "whole" with their investments in their lending program by paying them the $363 per BCC coin they hold from their loans; for people who didn't transfer their BCC from the bitconnect exchange already and sell them for huge losses.  Remains to be seen if they will do it.
Only a complete and utter moron would still believe BitConnect at this point. No serious company would just randomly close doors over night and cause such a catalysmical drop.
2365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟[ANN][ICO] Coinlancer.io CL - Freelancers Of The World Unite - ICO| 14th OCT🌟 on: January 18, 2018, 02:09:31 PM
I lost $11k when bitconnect closed its doors and sold my coins at $12 believing the it would be dead, but now I realized it may have potential and bought back at $29, if you ask me risk much as you can afford, it's very shaky
The only potential BitConnect has is in stealing your money. Or well, since you're willingly throwing your money at a proven scam I guess it's not stealing anymore.
2366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: January 18, 2018, 02:08:10 PM
Card delivery in ~2 months! Awesome news. Thank you for the update you just made my day!
Likely less than two months, since they need the cards rolled out before the event takes place (or at least that's what they are aiming for). Perhaps we'll see the cards in February already.
2367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 18, 2018, 02:05:20 PM
As far as Bitcoin goes, I think that on the down low Wallstreet has seriously been moving forward with plans to make Bitcoin a legit hedge instrument. A "non-correlated asset" similar to Gold, but not as tied to anything, not as collateralized and re-hypothecated, as other hedge instruments are. It's finally at a market cap size and maturity where they believe it is ready to be taken to the next step.

But publicly, they are trying to paint Bitcoin as a risky pump-and-dump scheme that is in line with other risky market assets. They want Average Joe to stay away from it while they get all the machinery in place to leverage it themselves (i.e., futures, ETFs, etc.) But of course insiders know this already, which is why the price has climbed all last year as they can't resist getting in early. They can't hide that accumulation because it's a thin market with a lot of transparency and not much Bitcoin off exchange to be bought.

That's why when I keep saying 'Wallstreet wants your bitcoin', I mean no really WALLSTREET WANTS YOUR BITCOIN.
Do you expect it to actually be uncorrelated though? I could easily see equity money fleeing into cryptos (alongside of gold) once it inevitably pulls back. At least if crypto doesn't somehow crash before that, which doesn't seem highly probable right now.

I agree with the overall sentiment though, I'm exposing myself to as much crypto as I possibly can without compromising my retirement status and have no intention of exiting. Even if perhaps not the best move from an investment/capital conserving perspective, I prefer positioning myself with what I believe in (which is decentralization without risking to be forced to work a job that I don't want to at any point in my life).
2368  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are people so skeptical? on: January 18, 2018, 01:41:40 PM
People generally suck at anticipating the future, because they never really leave their comfort zones far enough to get a grasp of what is and could be.
2369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 18, 2018, 01:38:56 PM
Every article I read on CNBC.com is wrong. Not just about Bitcoin, but about the economy in general. All corps and businesses are painted as being in full recovery mode, whilst crypto is painted as a space that is teetering on the edge of collapse any day now.

Completely backwards.

Of course the agenda is to get Average Joe back into the equities markets full steam.... the last bag holders when the stock market finally tanks a few years from now. Meanwhile Wallstreet will quietly hedge into the crypto space, and it'll skyrocket during the coming equity market meltdown. There's a reason why the Bitcoin futures market was created, and there will be the same reasons for the coming Bitcoin ETFs. It's not for Average Joe's benefit.
Hopefully cryptos won't even think of entering a recession before the stock market collapses. Been slowly easing out of some of my stocks in favour of cryptos for a number of months now and want some discounted stocks before cryptos plummet.

Also, inb4 Trump will be at fault when equities crash.

2371  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 18, 2018, 01:22:01 PM
should i request a paid article on CNBC?

Whole cryptocurrency market is green while Tether is the only digital currency in red?

RIP USD
I've also found an article about Ethereum being "below $1000 again" on some random MSM site on my phone earlier today. And it came out pretty much just before it returned to above $1000. Media is quite a strange phenomenon these days.
2372  Other / Serious discussion / Re: generation of cryptographic private keys from personal biometrics on: January 18, 2018, 01:18:27 PM
I would say you should not try this. Your biometrics are more or less public information upon having a picture of you. Also if using biometrics as a private key, those with a lot of money may become a larger target for things like kidnappings because criminals would know they can transfer large amounts of money with nothing more than their face.
This is why I would never, ever, use biometrics to secure anything of actual value.
2373  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: We need that some projects fail. on: January 18, 2018, 01:16:06 PM
I really don't see a problem. People who are stupid enough to throw any significant sum of money at said garbage coins will just end up burning themselves and then complain. Except that this time the government won't be able to bail them out.
In the meantime, anybody who is capable of critical and objective thinking as well as controlling their own impulses and greed will come out ahead once the market goes into a major reversal in a few years. As long as you're spread out among the truly valuable projects and not the BitConnects and <xyz> Gold/Plat/whatever copy/paste coins the worst that will happen is having to ride out a recession. The rest of the sheep will get sheared to 0 and never grow back.

All we can do is warn others and point out flaws in certain coins and ICOs. If people then choose to FOMO buy hyped trash regardless it's their loss.
2374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitconnect is Dead.... :( on: January 18, 2018, 01:10:27 PM
Bitconnect gained in value after drop. Say whaaat?
Used it and earn your money, why not?
Why not? Because it would be mentally deranged to do so. It's only a matter of time before you crash to zero with your mentality.

No it's not. CL controls more than 80% of the total coin supply. It's never a good time to buy this scam.

how did you know about that ?
80% total supply is very high amount,,
I think DEvs answered this question a couple of weeks ago, and I think everything was solved successfully, otherwise there wouldn't be such growth
Whatever their answer was was as factual as their claim to have raised $12m within a matter of days. And if you look at the most obvious scam/ponzi scheme in crypto of all time (namely BitConnect), you'll see that prices going up doesn't mean the project is legitimate. Right now everything is going up. But very few will survive when the market crashes (and this will happen, just like it happened with every other major new paradigm).

Many of us knew already this was a ponzi scheme.. i just read https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-01-16/bitconnect-closes-exchange-as-states-warn-of-unregulated-sales

Hope it didnt trapped much of you

i dont know if is a strategy to dump the price of bcc 10$ dip price right now almost 70$... This yr bitconnect will experience pump and dump. Lucky person who bought the bcc price of 10$. This is cool profit follow the fudd news.. Fudd news will become a profit.
Sure, until it collapses again.
2378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Believe or not? on: January 18, 2018, 11:22:44 AM
When the crypto frenzy stops, all money will flow into the very few (1~5%) of legitimate projects with real value and fundamentals backing them up.

Neo Gold or any other such shitcoin (<bigname> + <randombullshit>) will all die the way BitConnect did.

Don't be stupid and throw money at that rubbish or you'll lose everything given enough time.

Gambling never works for creating wealth in the long run. Smiley

In scams you can earn too.
It dropped to 5 bucks and it is above 80$
Someone is buying, why? Smiley
Because of substantial brain deficiencies.
2380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts are Bleeding What To Do? on: January 18, 2018, 11:16:35 AM
When markets are bearish it's a great time to invest in ICOs or otherwise move into Tether/fiat and wait for another opportunity. Alternatively (depending on your tax situation), just hodling might be a decent move too.
