2361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia's Central Bank proposes ban on Cryptocurrency trading and mining on: January 21, 2022, 06:13:21 AM
All the central banks around the world are usually against cryptocurrencies in general(this involves both trading and mining).I have never seen a central bank being friendly towards cryptocurrencies.
Russia is being anti-crypto for years and many Russians are still trading crypto and many miners have been mining crypto on Russian territory.I possible crypto ban means nothing, since many Russians don't care when it comes to breaking the Russian law.
This is just a proposal. It might be accepted or it might be declined.
I can see Russia becoming "the new China" for the cryptocurrency world.
More FUD news from Russia are yet to come.

In an interview he mentioned drug, cryptocurrency and alcohol has destroyed his life. In the beginning Steven knew what he's doing. Later he ended up losing around 5-10 bitcoins.

I don't think that drugs, alcohol and crypto destroyed his life. His addiction destroyed his life. His addiction is his own internal problem.Putting the blame on external factors(drug, alcohol, crypto) is not the right path for curing his addictions.
Trading can be turned into gambling,if you have no risk management and you always go for the high risk leverage trading. The lack of emotional control can ruin everything for every trader out there.

2363  Economy / Economics / Re: Microsoft to acquire Activision for $69B is all about Metaverse on: January 20, 2022, 07:41:21 AM
Quote
There is an impression in the Linux community where everything that Microsoft touch dies like Yahoo and Skype. Will Activision die too?

You forgot to mention Bing. Grin The only difference is that Bing was created by Microsoft, rather than being a separate company, which is acquired by them.
Jokes aside,I don't really think that Bing is dead. They are just totally behind Google in the search engine niche. The entire MSN portal is totally behind Google.
Anyway, paying 69 billion for a gaming company seems overpriced.Microsoft have Xbox, can't they just develop and expand Xbox even further, rather than spending billions on a gaming company?
Maybe there's something in the bigger picture, which I'm not seeing.
But yeah, this news definitely doesn't have anything to do with the metaverse concept.
2364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 20, 2022, 07:14:55 AM

If they can bring both Mbappe and Haaland to the team, the legend of Los Galacticos could be reborn. The Casemiro-Pogba duo also gives great advantages to the offensive line. However, the question is, will Real Madrid have the financial power to realize all three transfers in one transfer window?

Perhaps Real Madrid could get Pogba during the summer of 2022.
Luca Modrich is 36 years old.He will have to retire at the end of this season(or maybe he will leave Real and join a club in USA,Qatar or China).Real Madrid would definitely need a younger midfielder to replace Modrich.
I'm sure that Real Madrid has the finance to buy Mbappe and Haaland(or Lewandowski),but they will have to sell Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale.Anceloti definitely won't rely on Hazard and Bale for the rest of the season.
2365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I keep getting calls telling me there are are few bitcoins blocked in my name. on: January 20, 2022, 06:50:51 AM
Are you receiving a text message or a phone call?
If it is phone call, how does the caller's voice sound like?Is he speaking with an accent?
I'm 99% sure that these phone scammers are located in countries like India and Bangladesh, where they have entire call centers of scammers working full time.
There's nothing else you could do except changing your phone number. There's no way to check about any bitcoins "blocked in your name".The whole idea of having some Bitcoins being "blocked in your name" and you having to pay,in order to "unblock" them is simply ridiculous. This is a pretty stupid scam.
2366  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who is the best crypto provider to give you advice on how to trade in crypto? on: January 19, 2022, 11:54:32 AM
Paying for "trading signals" is a big mistake.
Perhaps you could find some legit trading signals groups where they share trading signals for free.
However, there's no guarantee that their signals are going to be profitable all the time.
If you are looking for tutorials, tips and tricks about how to trade crypto, there's plenty of free info available online, but remember that your best teacher are your own mistakes. No tutorial, ebook or online course
is going to make you the perfect cryptocurrency trader.
2367  Economy / Economics / Re: Doctors fear health care collapse amid omicron surge on: January 19, 2022, 06:59:57 AM

Cryptocurrencies, I think could be developed to improve healthcare in the united states and worldwide. There are many obvious steps to improve healthcare. People taking steps to exercise more and be healthier would go a long way towards making healthcare more affordable for all. As would people refraining from drug and substance abuse. These are not necessarily issues for government to solve. But has more to do with choices made on an individual level.

How can cryptocurrencies improve the healthcare system and make healthcare more affordable?
I don't see a way for this happen.
Changing the currency you use to buy something won't make the thing you are buying cheaper.
The problem with the US healthcare system is that it is more "free market" oriented than the European healthcare systems.Creating a "healthcare market" is a bad thing, because the market can be distorted and this can increase the prices to unprecedented levels.Almost all the affordable healthcare systems around the world are dominated by the governments and the private sector inside the healthcare system is heavily regulated.
By the way,I'm sure that the Omicron wave won't lead to the collapse of any healthcare system located in the developed countries.I'm not sure about the underdeveloped countries, though.
2368  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hashwars.games | Blockhash based Rolls/Verification | No KYC | up to 0.01% edge on: January 19, 2022, 06:38:00 AM
I like the concept of the game. It's always good to see something different than all the slots and dice games and all the crypto casinos, which are using the same template.
I assume that you don't want to grow a business out of this and you are not making it for the money.
This game has an educational element, which is something I like.
It would be nice if more gambling games and casinos had an educational element attached to them,so the gamblers could play and learn new stuff at the same time.
The big problem is that many gamblers simply won't find your game to be interesting enough.
Most of gamblers want flashy games with a good design.
Good luck with this project,OP!
2369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Tech has been Severely Oversold on: January 19, 2022, 06:13:56 AM
I remember that blockchain technology was really hyped years ago.
There were multiple articles about banks trying to adopt blockchain technology and all the bankers were saying
"We don't know about Bitcoin/crypto,but blockchain technology has a huge potential."
I guess that they were all hypocrites and I'm sure that 99% of them never knew how blockchain technology actually works.
Blockchain was a cool buzzword and every scammer around the world wanted to make a "decentralized blockchain project".
Nowadays the term blockchain isn't oversold anymore. The seekers of "the new big thing" are using new buzzwords, like NFT.
2370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin User Loses Record $1.1M on: January 18, 2022, 11:36:48 AM
If you had 1M USD,would you want to double them by sending the money to a guy,who promises you 100% profit right away? Those "double your BTC" giveaways are a total nonsense. It doesn't make any sense.
Rich people can be naive.Who knows?
Perhaps this guy is so rich that he could throw away 26 BTC at some "fake giveaway" without caring about the consequences. He probably has 100 million dollars and he doesn't care about losing a million or two. Grin
2371  Economy / Economics / Re: PEOPLE DURING THE PANDEMIC. on: January 18, 2022, 11:17:28 AM
OP,you are just making a bunch of vague statements that cannot be statistically proven.
You are saying that many people had lost their jobs, but the unemployment rates had actually normalized since the 2020 levels of unemployment.
You say that many businesses went bankrupt, but I don't have actual data about businesses going bankrupt.
The vast majority of the "brick and mortar" businesses survived the pandemic, some of them are thriving.
Some countries are facing bigger economic problems than others. You can't make generalizations about the all the people and all the businesses around the world.
NFT games are close to becoming a ponzi scheme.Good luck with trying to make money this way.
A game is a game, you could win,but you could also lose. You can't make consistent money by always winning.
This is every gambler's "wet dream". Grin It could never happen in reality.
2372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 18, 2022, 06:56:09 AM
The next big moves in the gambling industry would be towards the VR(virtual reality).
I don't know how this VR thing will improve the gambling experience. For some reason,Meta and VR technology is becoming the new big trend in the online world.I don't know why.
Decentralized gambling platforms are something that might not happen in the future, since the gambling industry is so heavily regulated by the governments.I guess that the authorities want casinos to stay centralized, because this way it's pretty clear who has the responsibility to run the business and who will be persecuted in case of scams and other sorts of crimes.
NFTs and play-to-earn games are another wave of "innovation" in the gambling industry, but I'm not sure about what percentage of these Play-to-Earn games are going to turn into actual scams in the future.
2373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Complete inelasticity of supply on: January 18, 2022, 06:34:52 AM
Saying that Bitcoin has inelasticity of supply is basically the same as saying the Bitcoin is scarce.
Most of the scarce resources on the planet have inelasticity of their supply.
Nobody is forgetting that Bitcoin is a scarce resource. It's actually one of the main features of BTC.

Quote
Quote
bitcoins value is not linked to supply/demand
. its value is window bottom and top limits, based on different costs to get it, lowest to highest. for different regions for different reasons

The value of BTC might not de directly linked to supply/demand,but the BTC price is definitely linked to supply/demand.You can't avoid "high school economics". It doesn't matter how much you hate it.
Saying that demand has nothing to do with the price/value of an asset seems kinda delusional.
If demand has nothing to do with value, then why are the people buying this asset?
The 2 biggest reasons are:
1.Expectations of selling that asset for a higher price and making profits.
2.Utility.Some people find Bitcoin more useful as a payment method than fiat money.

2374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2022 bear market? on: January 17, 2022, 12:40:46 PM
As we have seen the bull market of 2021, history has shown there to be a following of a bear market in the next year (2022). What are your thoughts so far and how do you believe it will play out.

I think the bear market is still just starting, btc should now be around 16-22k on average price until 2025.

Your thoughts?

And where is your great analysis about why the Bitcoin price should be at 16-22K right now?
The current Bitcoin price is what it is.Everything else is just wishful thinking and/or FUD.
Nobody can say when the bearish market will occur.Maybe we are in a bearish market right now,or maybe the bearish market will happen, when price drops below 40K or 30K.
There's no guarantee that the Bitcoin price is moving in cycles. The BTC price is determined mostly by supply and demand, not by some imaginary cycles. There are some other factors, which can influence the price, but most of them are temporary-crypto whales buying and selling, bullish or FUD news about Bitcoin, crypto miners being kicked out by some country, etc.

2375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payments decline as other cryptocurrencies grow on: January 17, 2022, 12:13:07 PM
Quote
And now that bitcoin fee is that high, what I noticed is that bitcoin exchange fee is higher than actual bitcoin fee, this make people to think it is high. Even less than $1 I used to make the last bitcoin transaction recently but if exchanges are charging $0.0005 bitcoin to a high amount over 0.0012 bitcoin which is $20 and above. They are misleading people to pay high fee when it is not.

I don't think that all crypto trading platforms are misleading the people.Probably some of them.
Crypto exchanges are the same as banks. They want to make money.
They will impose high fees,as long as the customers are OK with paying those high fees.If the fees become too high, the customers will simply choose another service or completely stop using crypto exchange platforms.Nobody is obligated to use their services.
I couldn't care less about Bitpay and what they have to say about Bitcoin usage on their platform.
The majority of the people simply don't want to spend Bitcoin for goods and services.
It's pretty normal that some altcoins and stablecoins are being preferred over Bitcoin for retail payments.

2376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto NFTs, what are your thoughts. on: January 17, 2022, 07:18:34 AM
The vast majority of the NFTs have nothing to do with art. They are mediocre pictures, which are being bought and sold with the expectation that their price is going to increase 10x.
If you are making "art" only for the sake of making money, then you are not making art.Believe me. Grin
There's nothing wrong with the artists making money, but artistic expression and making money are two completely different things, which cannot be combined.
Maybe there's a real piece of art here and there among all NFTs,but NFT buyers don't care about art. They care about buying and selling for profit.
2377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: January 17, 2022, 06:52:39 AM
It's going to be weird to watch the FIFA world cup in November/December.
I got used to watching the world cups in June/July. Grin
Is the football season in Europe going to stop because of the FIFA world cup?I don't know about this.
Anyway, everyone knows that European and Latin American teams are the strongest, followed by the African teams. The North American teams are usually at the level of African teams and the Asian teams(except Japan and maybe South Korea) are the weakest, compared to the rest of the continents.
I don't know about Australia, sometimes they play really good, sometimes they are a disappointment.
I'm sure that the pandemic will have a negative impact over the performance of the national teams. Some players will have to be quarantined, others might have post Covid syndromes, which will damage their performance. This is quite unfortunate.
2378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Changing my Thoughts And Behaviors. on: January 17, 2022, 06:26:43 AM
Bitcoin didn't change my behavior at all.
I don't discuss Bitcoin/crypto with other people and I can't say that I'm "enthusiastic" about Bitcoin/crypto projects.
I have always been skeptical about everything and everyone and Bitcoin is one of the few things in my life, which never disappointed me.
I was already financially disciplined before getting into the world of Bitcoin,so I can't say that Bitcoin changed something in my financial activities.
I remember that I was obsessed with constantly checking the current Bitcoin price on preev.com,but that was 4 years ago. Now,I don't bother that much about the current Bitcoin price.
2379  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Getting Used to The Market Situation is The Key to Becoming a Reliable Trader. on: January 16, 2022, 11:27:01 AM
It depends of what do you mean by "getting used to the market situation".
Simply knowing the market situation isn't enough. You have make a good technical and fundamental analysis of the market situation and you have to pick the right trading signals.
You also have to take complete control over your emotions and not freak out every time the price moves to an unexpected direction.
Practice is the key to success.Failure is the best way to learn(unfortunately it costs a lot of money wasted on unsuccessful trades, but everything good in life comes at a high cost).
Even the best traders had lost lots of money. You can't become a "reliable trader" on Day 1.
2380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Fear Index at 10 on: January 16, 2022, 11:08:21 AM
I've always wondered how this Fear&Greed index is being calculated.Emotions like fear and desires like greed cannot be mathematically measured.
Extreme levels of fear on the Bitcoin market means panic selling.I don't see any panic selling right now.
Actually the price might start recovering slowly back to 50K USD.
I do believe that the price might be pumped back to 50-68K(or even above 70K) when the spring comes.
The Omicron wave will go away, the tensions between the western world and Russia/China will be settled and the global financial markets will face a rush of optimism.I also really hope that the "powers that be" won't launch another FUD attack over Bitcoin/crypto in the first quarter of 2022.
