2363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 28, 2023, 07:08:10 PM
Turkey look so determined to put the ball behind the Croatian net and with the record they hold at the Timsah Arena (Bursa) stadium, it will be very difficult to break them down, but so far so good for them hope Croatia put their act together to win this fixture as many of us expect them to win today.

Edit: Turkey 0-1 Croatia

In the other match between Scotland and Spain, Scotland have taken an early lead thanks to a Scott McTominay goal and this game could either be a high scoring game or will end in a draw out of respect for each other.

2365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: March 28, 2023, 03:53:06 PM
Is some way this could be defined to be some kind of money laundering as you conceal the origin of the transaction, the only thing that separates bitcoin mixing and money laundering... pretty much borders around the legal side of the transaction.

But whatever the case, crypto by nature does have the anonymity aspect to it and the origin of the coins matter less and makes it difficult to define money laundering in this context.
2366  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible things that gives beginners problems on: March 28, 2023, 09:32:06 AM

                                  Plagiarism

Plagiarism, these are one of the things that get most  people ban in the forum, anyone who avoid plagiarism have long way to go as a beginner, when you go across of plagiarism/copy and paste threads in meta board, most of users reported plagiarised, 60% are newbies.
Honesty I think its deliberate!

Btw Plagiarism is not only recognized on the forum, even in other parts of the world or other working environments do recognize it and its so serious that some people have been sued for stealing ones work without citing the author ...in any part of the world this is unacceptable and has nothing to do with newbies and as the numbers say 60% of newbies clearly shows even high ranked members have been guilty for this probably bought accounts too...

Both spamming and plagiarism are the result of a user being too lazy to conduct additional research in order to bring something qualitative, informative, and useful to the forum; instead, they paraphrase someone else's content in order to change some words and claim it as their own, which is very wrong globally, not just in this forum; therefore, we should avoid plagiarism because it is a crime.
Agreed, keyword here is laziness!

Fact is that our modern world has really affected us even in real life and really cant do things on our own because of the so called smart world. Today we even have people writing articles with the help of AI you can imagine were we going,  research will be soon a thing of the past or rather a very rare thing to do for most and this should be discouraged...we can do wonders if we put our minds to it.

2368  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: March 27, 2023, 11:47:08 PM
As much as i dont want to say it, unfortunately the government does play a role in poverty eradication!!!

Why do i say so , well the govt is in charge of policing which affects the economy generally and translates into either well paying jobs meeting minimum wages and also helps in setting the tone of employment ,  the govts involvement also helps bring down inflation which helps fix price of goods and service's which trickle down to the citizenry and the ability to afford them or not.

Btw i dont know about other countries but the government is the biggest employer in most countries and if its not employing it means more people will be out in the street's jobless trying to survive if poverty doesnt get to them first but in this modern technology its important to equip ourselves with extra skills to survive.
2369  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-03-15] Forbes - How Africans Are Using Bitcoin Without Internet Access on: March 27, 2023, 11:05:34 PM
Appreciate the initiative of making crypto accessible to users not having smartphones but am sorry this doesn't sound safe one single bit!!

And what are the odds that somebody from the inside cant clone your Subscriber Identity Module(sim) to gain unauthorized access to these crypto services???

and with this kind of service that doesn't require an extra layer of security such as 2fa authentication, this should be a no go area to be honest.

Btw I have read stories of how sim cards are cloned and bank accounts wiped clean, now imagine having to lose crypto which is irreversible and very difficult to track..this tech is just aint ready for security-conscious users.

2374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't become world currency (at least now). on: March 27, 2023, 11:16:27 AM
Hello crypto bros!

Personally, I think that bitcoin won't become a new world currency like USD or EURO,
especially knowing very well that most countries are bordered around democracy, honestly it's really difficult to make such decisions because politics is at the center of the action.. though making it legal tender is very much possible but many countries fear that it could negatively affect the performance of their local currency and most central banks won't endorse it.

but I think it would be widely accepted and used. But looking at some projects like El Salvador I just keep wondering, are there gonna be countries that will try making bitcoin their official currency and make all transactions using it?
Do you think there gonna be any consequences for that?
Of course other countries will jump on the bitcoin buss as some economies are failing and will be out looking for a solution.

Consequences: looking back at the history of countries that have adopted bitcoin, most of their local currencies went under the bus and the only way to revive money spending was to use foreign currencies like the US dollar and bitcoin which was seen in Zimbabwe and Venezuela, but adopting a new currency means trashing/displacing your own currency for another but I don't it makes it any easy to bring back a new one after you try the like of bitcoin.

Why I think it's highly unlikely:
I think one of the problems is that it will be more expensive for people to use bitcoin than fiat. We can also say that it will create a huge load on the bitcoin network to make all these transactions so it will probably be even more expensive and slower because of that.
Devs have brought is the lightning network but honestly its not practical and the fact that "ordinary" transactions arent confirmed in real time this makes it difficult to adopt btc entirely though better alternative for these dying currencies.

Also worth mentioning that bitcoin is still pretty volatile and I don't see it becoming more stable in the future. And the whole system will depend on the miners and if there gonna be any problem with them, then the system will suffer. And another thing is that when people will see how volatile bitcoin is, they will try to exchange it for a more stable asset that will dump the price of BTC as well.

So as a result, I think that bitcoin will probably stay as an asset and anonymous money. And it's not a bad thing, we need this kind of technology to exist.
Agreed, volatility makes it difficult to make bitcoin an everyday currency but a user can lock in its value by exchanging it for a stablecoin to  counter this, btw volatility works in two ways your portfolio could go positive or minus when markets are volatile so it is really not a bad thing tbh Roll Eyes

2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin continue to rise on: March 26, 2023, 11:26:25 PM
Technically it is just to say it will keep rising because Bitcoins total supply is limited, which means after all 21 million coins are mined... owing one whole Bitcoin will become impossible or rather expensive which will force price to raise to accomodate any new demand that will be in need of this digital asset.

We always want to see bullishness in Bitcoin but in reality it is impossible. A bullish market essentially generates strength from a bearish one. So the bearish has to adapt to the bullish. Otherwise it will not be possible to get anything as expected from crypto. Current price of bitcoin is $27900 and market condition is good. In such situation the market can turn bullish at any time.
Agreed, because markets work in a similar way as a rubber band , this means it can only pull to a certain extent before it loses its elasticity and needs to return to its original sharp to build momentum.
2378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips To Make Quality Posts In This Forum As A Beginner on: March 26, 2023, 10:31:50 PM
3. Try To Catch Scammers and Bounty Cheaters: If you make yourself expert about catching scammers and bounty Cheaters you may get attention from the higher rankers and may grow up yourself in this forum too fast. This is a very tricky way and also very contributive.
Let me say that you are right, if you have the quality to look for scammers, spammers, bounty cheaters and shit posters, they are means that you can be noticed and grow on this forum. But let me correct that because you are not completely correct, you may not have all these qualities and still grow as long that you are making good posts.
Catching spammers, bounty cheaters , shit posters etc will get you noticed for your detective work on the forum but this doesn't automatically make your post quality better as it's really unrelated to posting!!

2. Follow Senior Forum Members: Some may thought users only give merits to the higher rankers because if they post any information gets a lot of merits.
Honestly this is definitely subjective and not all high ranked users live up to expectations !

And sorry to burst your bubble but believe it or not some users will literally post a fullstop and get merit for it because they are rooted into the forum.

Btw long texts also don't necessarily mean quality, you could be brief and express what you have to say articulately.

Hope my question hasn't been asked already...

am trying to make sense of how the free bet points are calculated on the BSFL spreadsheet and looked at the points from divisions 1 and 2

and it seems more like this is based on the number of greens ones has...being in division 3 is this calculated differently Huh

2380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 26, 2023, 07:31:23 PM
These Euro qualifiers have alot of goals in them, can't believe it that Portugal is 4 goals up and its only the first half.. Maybe the magic number here 7, 7 goals for Portugal  Roll Eyes

Btw Ronaldo is on the score sheet again and some chatter around the internet claimed CR7 went into Saudi Arabia were his path is scripted but the world is watching and we seeing him still adding goals to his name, will this Lad ever retire with what's happening...?

What a shocking result in the denmark vs kazakhstan game after ending the first half in the lead 2 0 we all thought that the game will end with an easy win for denmark but kazakhstan team managed to put a crazy comeback despite being a huge underdog before the game we rarely see something like that and this is the beauty of football.
Shocking indeed, how the hell did Denmark lose a match they were 2goals up at some point and went under 3-2.... Its even difficult to explain because these guys were believed to be among the teams with a solid defense but to sum it up it was a disappointing result, nothing more !
