PLAYcoin is already Paycoin 2.0

Paycoin¹….. Failed in 2014. <-- GAW just stole the name.
Paycoin²….. Currently failing as we speak.
Paycoin³….. Seriously? Can we just let this lame duck of an idea die already??

Scott-

Maybe I'll rename PayCon as PayCon2.0 just for kicks and do a giveaway on the hashtalk forums.

Already more successful compared to PayCoin lol
2386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OMA] Omega Ω - ICO ended - I2P and TOR markets. on: February 05, 2015, 09:46:12 PM
Well if you are continuing to work on the markets even after the massive drop in price then I don't really have a problem with it because it's a person's choice whether or not to invest in something. I'm not out to attack peoples projects just to be a dick so I'll even offer you a bit of helpful advice.

With the reward system of OMA you should look to continue to work on it in a similar way to BlackCoin and possibly improve the rewards in some way to make it more ideal for people to Stake their Coins. It presents somewhat of a risk when the market is low volume and low Proof of Stake rewards coupled with an infinite maximum Stake age. The reason for this is that a person can buy many Coins for cheap, split up all their Coins into very small units, wait a couple weeks until they accumulate a lot of coinage and then Stake them all at once and double spend on the market. This risk was highlighted as an attack on ApexCoin about a month ago and in order to make sure there is enough security on the network you will want to have a high amount of blocks always Staking on the network. Proof of Stake difficulty is measured in the amount of Blocks competing in order to Stake, the more blocks competing the better it is for security.

Working on the protocol is just as important, if not even more important than working on the TOR markets because you want to identify and fix problems before they become and issue. If deciding to make a change to the protocol in which would affect the calculation of rewards, stake age or difficulty in any way you cannot just change it like you would a normal program. You would need to plan ahead and set the change in the future and notify all holders and exchanges to upgrade before that time and reject the previous protocol versions in order to make sure there are no conflicts otherwise you would get syncing issues.

Is true, every coin should have a dev same same Crestington

PayCon is the ultimate irony, made as a joke but with the rewards as they are now it looks as though everyone will make ROI especially if we can get listed on some higher volume exchanges.

I really figured I'd be getting hate mail over this Coin by now but seem to only be getting thank you notes lol

Looks like no plans, no promises, no rules and no moderation is definitely the way to go.

30 Coins per POS Block is actually really awesome and no one wants to change it soo....

PayCon is simulated Proof of Work through Proof of Stake
2395  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 04, 2015, 06:00:51 PM

"PayBase has investigated these spurious allegations and confirmed that they are false."

See...that is the part that is a dead giveaway here.  How do they investigate and confirm that Coin Fire did not receive leaked documents?  Obviously the SEC is not officially declaring whether or not they have an open investigation, as they responded to a FOIA request with a long winded,"No Comment"

GAW, and it's legal team, could certainly be aware of an ongoing investigation, as the SEC may be demanding documents, records, etc. from the company, but that still would not tell them how many pages the investigation file contains, nor if a SEC insider leaked those documents.

I would guess, as others said in that thread, that what they're going to say is that only Gaw is being investigated and the lie they claim is that paybase is being investigated.

You can't state that you investigated the own allegations against yourself and confirm that they are false.

That's like going to court over and saying to the judge you have confirmed that the defense is lying.
2396  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 04, 2015, 05:13:23 PM
This is really interesting.... AnimoEsto

You are a new account, you have only posted in THIS THREAD, and you're leaking emails from josh garza. You also have a cloud mining startup in your signature.

You are Josh Garza.

Hell no. I'm Josh Garza, isn't that obvious yet?  Cool

FWIW, the leak is in GAW/Paybase's interest - it provides the necessary cover to delay as along as possible.  This thread is also a cover - you know, a half-dozen internet forum users in one thread, can easily take down a $100M company by posting pictures, memes, snark and silly allegations.  Of course.  By the gaw logic, the Winklevi should have hired us to take down facebook, would have been a whole lot cheaper.  Roll Eyes

Whether the leak was from GAW, their reps, etc., I can't say - I just think it doesn't hurt them as much as it helps them by buying time.

See - CONFIRMED!  Grin

Looks like interest is beginning to die off about PayCoin

Delayed again?  Undecided

Working on a bug found in the Proof of Stake reward handling which would make all proof of Stake Blocks mint at the max subsidy regardless of Block size.

Not synching!

First make sure you have the latest version, it will be easy to tell because it has a different splash screen with the "trust no one" logo

Next make sure you have the nodes added as per instructions on the first page

or

Not synching!

Hm, mine synching. 12 active connections. Actually amazed how good this coin is  Grin

try "addnode 128.199.231.68:9455 add" and "addnode 162.243.155.75:9455 add"

in Console.

Another Question: When are the coins matured and begin to stake?

If you still cannot sync it may be due to the previous issue (which was solved) in which the low difficulty was causing conflicts. In order to resolve this you can use "dumpprivkey" in order to get your private key and make a copy of it. Then move your wallet.dat out of your appsdata/roaming/PayCon folder, delete everything in the folder except for your PayCon.conf file which you just created and run PayCon-qt and sync up to the highest chain. Then in your console window use "importprivkey" followed by your private key and it will import your balance into the wallet. It will read transactions from the global ledger and give you an accurate read of your balance.

Do not delete your wallet.dat under any circumstances, you can also sync up to the highest chain with an empty wallet, close PayCon.qt, replace the empty wallet with your wallet.dat containing your balance and run PayCon-qt

Let me know what works for you, there are many ways in order to connect and read the proper balance.

I have also asked pollforall for a quote on setting up a new DNS seeder so that we do not have to rely on adding nodes manually.
