ati radeon 5800 and two 6800 series and one 7800 series

Uh, ok, your previous post said you had two GPU's now we're up to 4.

You should have your 7800 series in a different machine that the 5xxx and 6xxx series GPU's.

Did you read this threads top post yet?  If you have multiple GPU's/types in the same machine you really need to set your clock ranges per GPU.  The Top Post has easy to understand examples for that.
2382  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.1.1 on: May 24, 2013, 12:44:24 PM
If you're really having overheating problems, you really should set a really low lower engine limit, eg:
--gpu-engine 300-950

are not --gpu-fan regulate heating so if there is setup for --gpu-fan 25-85
it will not allow to run fan faster that 85%? so I dont ned to regulate gpu-engine?

so If I understand 25 is lower temp and 85 is the highest temp??? or why is 25-85 for example?

gpu fan is 25% to 85% fan speed.  If the GPU reach's the temp overheat, 85C default, it will still send the fan to 100%.

Auto gpu with lower and upper clock limit is ALSO for regulating heat to the temp target which is 75C by default.  So you NEED both to regulate temp safely.

thank you for advice I have looking for some help about it but no luck.
i have decreased gpu with --gpu-dyninterval 4
but it still overheat...
i will do this settings
--auto-gpu --gpu-engine 750-950 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 25-85

with a TThrootle I see I have two GPUs and cgminer is using just one is that ok?
is that normal case?

dyninterval adjusts dynamic intensity.

What GPU's do you have?

Remember replace the engine clocks in the example with clocks which make sense for your GPU.
2384  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best card combo for a 600W powersupply on: May 24, 2013, 11:30:07 AM
Hi all

I currently have a 600W power supply running an I7 2600K, 8GB memory (2 sticks), 1 120MM case fan and a 140MM case fan with a 6850 and a 5850

I was wondering about putting in a 7950 but am thinking that my PSU will need an upgrade.

Can i put in a 7950 to replace my 6850 without changing my PSU?
Would be able to put 2 7950's in place of my current cards?

Thank you

It's a bad idea to mix 5xxx/6xxx GPU's with 7xxx in the same system.  Each takes a different Catalyst/OpenCL combo to mine effectively.  What works good for one series is bad for the other.

So putting two 7xxx GPU's into your system would be best then you could send your 5850 to me Smiley

MY two PCs are stil shutting down because overheating, what can I do to prevent this, how to make cgminer slows down with mining when overheating!

If it is your GPU's overheating then use the auto fan and auto gpu command line arguments.

There are examples in the executive summary in the top post of this thread.

I have auto-fan flag, but no auto-gpu because it overheats more if I have auto-gpu.

That makes no sense.  What's your target temp?

temp 95 oC  fan 100%

Doesn't that seem a bit hot to you?  It seems very hot to me.

Read the readme and/or the top post of this thread.

I would recommend using the default target temp of 75C, temp cutoff of 95 and setting auto fan with a range of 25-85.

With a temp target of 95C and 100% fan when you use auto gpu it can only raise the engine clock to get to 95C which is a bit insane if you ask me.  Plus you will kill your fan pretty quick.

A command line should look something like this

--auto-gpu --gpu-engine 750-950 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 25-85

Both auto fan and auto gpu will adjust to keep the GPU at the default 75C.  Set your engine clock range from a low clock range of 500 to 700 to your high overclock range, whatever your overclock is for your GPU.  Try not to run your fan over 85%.

Also remove your case cover if you haven't already.

I've you trying to use MSI after burner to overclock your card ? I'm personnaly use it with no issue Wink
Stock is 1250 for me too and I raide up to 1500mhz (elpida chips not so good Sad )

No, I haven't installed any tools for overclocking (it's a Gigabyte card), only setting the main clock in cgminer.

I want to reduce the memory clock to reduce power usage and heat generation.
As per the README/GPU-README

cgminer uses the ATI ADL Library to adjust the clocks on the cards.

If ATI didn't put support in the library to change to the settings you request, cgminer will attempt, and report the new setting the library chose - usually the default setting for values they don't support.

If you use an external program, make sure you disable ADL in cgminer --no-adl

So his settings are valid?  Using a range for memclock and memdiff of 0 at the same time, that is?
2387  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.1.1 on: May 24, 2013, 01:43:43 AM
"gpu-engine" : "1100",
"gpu-memclock" : "0-750",
"gpu-memdiff" : "0",

With Memdiff of 0 your telling your GPU to use the same memclock as your engine.

You can't specify a range for memclock you have to use one value.

I think 7xxx series cards can only have a engine to memory difference of 150Mhz.

Hey Guys, Why no responses?

I've got a really crazy idea.

Why not post your problem in the BTC Guild thread so that eleuthria can see it and address your problem?

the readme doesn't help me so much :/

And it can't unless you actually read it and spend the time doing research so that you can comprehend it as well.

If your unwilling or incapable of moving toward the goal of understanding then I would, kindly, suggest your finding something else to spend your/our time on.

Can someone post cgminer settings to mine BTC with Sapphire 7950s please, because I reach 550Mh/s stock and I see people writing about up to 740Mh/s with 7950s.

Thanks!

I am getting exactly the same error that you are when trying to install for a guy who has 5 HD5870s. No matter what drivers I use I get the same issue.
I have updated OPENCL, SDK, Catalyst to several different versions and I still cannot get CGMiner working with HD5870's. Im hitting a brick wall. Maybe I will need to try his install on Windows (I really dont want to). But if its the only way I can get him mining with these OLD OLD Cards..  It may be his configuration setup with an Intel based Motherboard, I don't know but this install is taking forever.. With HD7950's I can get up and mining in a few minutes.

I'm using Catalyst 12.1 and SDK 2.5 and have been very stable for a long time with my "OLD OLD Cards" which are a 5830 and 5770.  If you have installed a later SDK you will have bad results and from what I understand it is very hard to roll back the OpenCL SDK.

That GPU is not supported.

Can I use a different miner software or is ATI Radeon 2400 HD Pro not usable for mining at all?

If you must

Here is a link to a hardware comparison chart that I used when selecting my GPU's.  The 2400 is not listed at all.

Who is hashing with CPU?  Botnets.

If a hash doesn't meet or exceed the current difficulty why store for later when the difficulty is even higher?

So you can clearly see that cgminer says that GPU3 is Tahiti (7870 XT) and then later displays that GPU 3 is 7770, can it be somehow reordered and saved to a config file, so sensors and auto-gpu would work?

-gpu-map <arg>     Map OpenCL to ADL device order manually, paired CSV (e.g. 1:0,2:1 maps OpenCL 1 to ADL 0, 2 to 1)
or
--gpu-reorder       Attempt to reorder GPU devices according to PCI Bus ID

EDIT: Hm..doesnt seem to work. Maybe the memdiff options just really works under auto-gpu mode i dont have enabled?

Yes, auto GPU is required for the memdiff argument.  And I *think* the max allowed difference, for 7xxx cards, is 150.  Search the CGMiner thread to verify.

Auto Fan and Auto GPU are two of the main benefits of CGMiner.

the current PPS Rate (0.0000020670840046) is inclusive or exclusive of Fee?
