2382  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can old people use bitcoin? on: March 26, 2023, 01:28:26 PM
If adoption comes around, will their be higher consumer congenial systems for old people to utilize crypto? What are your phrenic conceptions?
I don't think old people really have any use for money to be spending it any how like a millennial, and with crypto being irreversible I don't think this is a good idea as they are more likely to be scammed or might send coins to the wrong user.

Old human beings are the first to emerge as inclined to scams if adoptions comes around, and I suppose like crypto is a spectacular way for these guys to get screwed.
Agreed, which makes it hard to make it a platform for the senior citizens.

I don't be conscious of how this is going to work out for old human beings who cannot even know private/public keys let on my very own hot/cold wallets.
Crypto is more for the millennial and to safe guard the money for the senior citizens best not to allow them to use it unless they know the risk involved.
2383  Other / Meta / Re: One new topic per month on: March 26, 2023, 06:00:27 AM
The proposal is welcome but certain boards need to be kept alive by some of these guys but for the sake of not having one or two guys filling up the whole board with their work, I suppose this privilege can be limited by rank like what happens with signature space... For example; Newbies can be limited to 3 topics a month then increases with rank eg, Jr member -6, Member -9, Full member -12, SR Member 15 and this goes on unless this doesn't ractify the problem adjustments can be made.

Better yet, a limit per week can be fixed like say 3 topics per week and does not carry over.

As an alternative: make it possible to create a new topic after receiving 10 new merits
This could work just not sure if this is a practical solution tbh, and as a curator why not be entitled to merit on a board that sees users getting merit on these topics created Huh
2384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 26, 2023, 12:04:41 AM
Spain beat Norway 3-0. Spain, who put pressure on their opponent from the first minutes, scored with olmo in the 13th minute. In the second half of the match, which continued in the same way, they won the match 3-0 with the goals of joselu in the last minutes.
Like clock work, it's great to see Spain still trying to keep up with their tik taka way of football but I would like to see them put up the same fight against are more capable team.

With the strength and quality of players in the Denmark national football team, I think it should be relatively easy for Denmark to claim the top spot in Group H. Kazakhstan lost their first game against Slovenia despite playing at the comfort in their home stadium and I think there is a very high chance for Kazakhstan to suffer another defeat again when they play against Denmark.
Defensively I have no doubts that Denmark will not concede but if I do the math right..Kazakhstan will be more comfortable getting a point here just to keep their hopes alive to salvage some points to qualify but we shall see what happens this evening.

2385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you love and enjoy taking risk? on: March 25, 2023, 10:43:41 PM
Some months a go, I was thinking altcoins may favour me since bitcoin is still unpredictable.
Just for the record, altcoins are as unpredictable as Bitcoin if anything might as well be worse as they wait for Bitcoin to react or the alts to be manipulated.

I decided to invest my last cash at hand on luno, Eth, buying babe doggy, peg token and tron. I don't really understand how this things works when I bought it was all gloomy without bitcoin but in less than a week my money dried up.
Just hang in there your portfolio will bounce back.

What future do we really hope for altcoins without bitcoin?
All I know is that altcoins will always perform better than Bitcoin, but the problem is finding or catching the altcoin with the biggest gains...but all in all alts still hold a special place in the cryptospace as they fill the gaps that Bitcoin can't fill.

2387  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: A virus infected laptop, how safe? on: March 25, 2023, 08:55:38 PM
I want to know if something bad could happen to a hardware wallet that's been plugged into a laptop with a detected virus using an antivirus software, is there any possible treat using an hardware wallet on such laptop?
Usually computer viruses have target's to the system, if it's out there looking for text files or setups that will be it's target and if the hardware wallet does have such files then it will be infected but again this is rare as not so many people have invested in these kind of wallets .

What and what can someone do next to be able to operate the hardware wallet on the Laptop.
The problem is on your PC and your best solution is to get the PC cleaned/disinfected and this should be done with a genuine antivirus not the cracked softwares as these could be the source of the problem, and also run your Malwarebytes as it's one of those reliable antiviruses that kick a**...Once all this is done you could choose to reset your wallet too provided you have a backup and you should be safe going forward.

But in the first place why plug in your hardware wallet into an infected PC when you can avoid the risk  Roll Eyes
2388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoin transaction is irreversible. on: March 25, 2023, 08:28:33 PM
Those are really rare cases of a bank transfer being reversed after being successful because the consequences of this action could be of great lose to the payer or  payee, and this is likely to end in the corridors of the court as either of the parties can sue sof the inconvenience or at the least demand for what's owed to them.

But unlike fiat, Bitcoin only has the double spend feature that can override the first transaction technically making it a reversal but is also dependant of wallet used.
2389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Given an option between Bitcoin and Fiat which do you prefer? on: March 25, 2023, 02:57:51 PM
At this point it's not an option of preference to choose between the two, as I believe Bitcoin and fiat exist as compliments to each other as they both have different strengths that will be of use to us one way or another.

But we can't run from the fact that Bitcoin is still not widely accepted as a daily mode of payment like fiat is and if am to choose here,it will have to be fiat for its convenience.

I prefer BTC, but I am dependent on both to different extents.
I guess we are all going to pick BTC but couldn't have said it any better than you did  Smiley.

2391  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who is most reliable person? on: March 25, 2023, 01:21:01 PM
When it comes to bitcoin wallets is totally a kind of private pants for females and boxers for male. Bitcoin wallets is like ATM pin which is assigned to individuals which banks do not respect another person on your behave.
Lol love the word play in this and how you describe how Bitcoins privacy is to be respected Wink

Can we also show our bitcoin key to someone closer, maybe love, spouse, next of kin?
The fact that crypto can not be accessed by forced entry except in a few rare cases were a wallet can be brute forced and because of this it's only fair and unselfish that we pass this crypto onto the next ones without leaving these coins to be forever forgotten when family can make use of the crypto money.

Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin, a friend or family member and your children who's most preferred and reliable person to give out our information about your bitcoin?
Let the kids have this as a present, with crypto being the future they are pretty much going to figure this out, better yet a mnemonic can be left with words being mambo jumbled with life events that they only can know answes too.

Can't believe Netherlands failed to convert from the spot last night which was the only goal most of us were looking for and it was pretty much the last action of the day and Depay couldn't get the job done,am having my doubts in this team if they will proceed..

And looking at this week's spreadsheet and all its red paint, clearly this could be easily one of the toughest ones we have had so far and can't imagine what the future holds now Roll Eyes
2393  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto or Forex? on: March 24, 2023, 11:13:03 PM
Hello,
What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Crypto and Forex? Why should anyone choose Crypto over Forex?

Thank you.
Well one of the advantages Forex has is it has been out there for years and people have been able to find the best algorithm to trade it unlike crypto which is still new on the market and people are still trying to decipher  it's trading pattern....

And when it comes to choosing between the two, forex can be best traded when their Is volatility like during market open like the New York Open,or London Open unlike crypto which reacts to current news happenings without any pattern to follow... honestly it's all about preference at the end of it.
2394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 24, 2023, 09:12:14 PM
What a punishment from France to the Netherlands. At half time it is already 3-0 and that score was already reached after 25 minutes.
Am pretty sure after what we witnessed in the world cup we all expected France to be the better team coming into this game, but to get two goals in the first 10 minutes is unacceptable for a team of this pedigree !!!
Netherlands did play well in the world cup but today they are playing like San Marino.

Another disappointing result is coming from Poland , just what happened to these guys...I remember them being a decent team Roll Eyes
2395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Ugandan Pastor Closed Down Church for Winning Sports Bet. on: March 24, 2023, 07:28:35 PM
Clearly some people don't take religion seriously and this is evidence on its own that people are out their to prey on people's faith and I know for sure that mostly women are the usual target market as these are desperate for marriages, and God's intervention in their lives and will take taith which enriches these so called pastors.

With the pastors secret lifestyle exposed thanks to this big win, this will question if the clergy have other motives besides the church. Otherwise nice win Mr pastor.
2396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 24, 2023, 05:35:06 PM
Hello everyone!
Recently I was thinking about BTC payments and I believe that the system is moving towards bitcoin adoption and paying with bitcoin. And it's great!

But the problem for me is that anytime I think about paying with BTC I feel somehow uncomfortable. I always remember the guy who spent 30+ bitcoins on pizza and now these bitcoins are worth a fortune. Like I don't want to be this guy and pay with an asset that WILL go up in price.
I think it comes with the territory, those first gen hodlers are the luckiest and the bold ones who believed in what Satoshi Nakomoto and friends saw in the money system, and getting to spend your bitcoin today shouldn't be something to make you feel bad because in you doing so you are being the ambassador of crypto and adoption is becoming the order of the day.

It feels like you paying more for the product from a future perspective.
I know the feeling but if you have other sources of income you can have a stash that you shouldn't touch just to make you feel happy.

What are your thoughts about this? Personally, I usually try to buy with stablecoins if I have some, it just feels more natural for me. I don't want to touch my BTC while the market is still bad.
Stablecoins are my go to coins if I don't want the inconvenience of a clogged network and besides they too speak for bitcoin in the crypto adoption game.
2397  Bitcoin / Mining / Can miners Manipulate network to benefit themselves on: March 23, 2023, 07:27:14 AM

I have been looking at mempool because it has an interesting visual of how blocks are being mined and the alike, but looking at this further this has prompted me to ask whether it's possible for miners to manipulate the network to benefit themselves through artificial incentives.

Why do I ask, well if you look at some of these blocks in the photo above, you can see that some blocks have less than 500 transactions when on other days we have 2000 to 3000 transactions being accommodated in each block, so really how does the mining mechanics work because at the moment we have over 50 thousand transactions in 212 blocks pending and to clear this why arent more transactions being accommodated in each block to clear the clog???

My question: Do miners manipulate the network in their favor to get better incentives?
2398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Dubai a Bitcoin Friendly City? on: March 22, 2023, 10:13:35 PM
I have initiated the plan to shift to Dubai. If everything goes right I would be in Dubai by the end of this month or by early April.
With some of your family already there I really don't think you will be homesick or anything in those lines, all the best as you relocate Smiley

I have few relatives who have been living in that city for more than a decade. Unfortunately they have no clue that I am Bitcoin enthusiast and I do trade occasionally in cryptocurrency exchange in my country which is india.
Well now just don't tell them but find some you can confine in and who knows they might like trading too .

As trading crypto in India has become a pain on the ass. I thought of going to Dubai as most crypto inventors and investors are shifting their base to Dubai.
I see many profitable traders going to be doing this, noticed most of my prop firm trader's complaining about this and I think they are also having problems with card payments and the alike .

1. Is holding & trading or both an offence?
I follow several crypto millionaire's and traders who have relocated to this place and non of them have mentioned this to be a problem for them, it's all about blending in and learning their way of life there

2. Do they tax or restrict on buying/selling of crypto?
I highly doubt it, besides platforms that you can buy your crypto from haven't flagged off Dubai you can probably keeping using the platforms you are familiar with.

3. Are there any DEX that support BTC/AED transaction globally or vice-versa?
I suppose you need to invest in some crypto card or better yet use p2p to get AED if crypto is off the table .

4. How long does it takes to buy/sell Bitcoin in AED on a DEX or CEX?
If all is setup like KYC and all ,  I would say within 5-30 minutes you should be done.

5. If DEX are not available then which CEX should I use?

Thanks in advance.
I would say go for reputable platforms, unless you are out searching for something close to home use smaller bits to minimise your loss .
2399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Justin Sun sued by SEC. Effect on Bitcoin? on: March 22, 2023, 08:33:51 PM
What's the worst that can come from this..if Justin Sun loses against SEC Roll Eyes I think the worst that can happen is maybe paying some fine nothing more and probably being requested to getting whitelisted for tether to keep being used in this jurisdiction otherwise with so many banks going down at the moment I think the world is distracted and won't affect the markets much.
If anything I believe with banks being  affected which were suppose to be their clients safe house,it's clear crypto is the only answer and price is expected to keep soaring.
