Casper Ruud has already reached the final of the tournament and he's waiting to know his opponent Alcaraz or Frances Tiafoe. Alcaraz is the big favorite of his semi-final but as you said the final odds for Ruud to win the tournament are @14.05 and I have a bet on him so I hope Tiafoe will manage to beat Alcaraz because it would be a less strong opponent for him.
Alcaraz reached the final after 5 sets of matches, you are lucky to bet on Ruud I don't count him in this tournament and of all bets in this tournament left Alcaraz, the odds are not as big as on Ruud and if Alcaraz wins this match will only reduce my loss
Wow you should have place many bets on many players in this tournament because Carlos Alcaraz is @3.18, it was a pretty interesting odds for a big player like him IMO. As babygun said he's currently around @1.4 for bookmakers. Personally, I shouldn't break even but I wouldn't get a very big loss if he wins instead of Casper Ruud.

Let me take a guess..... you spend more than $2000 of your own money to wager that $332k.. right? How is a reward of $100 worth it, if you lost so much money trying to achieve it? Even if you multiplied it four times as you said..... then you still made a huge loss on it.  Roll Eyes

I do not chase these challenges, because it is basically designed to reward a few whales..... the rest of the people get a fraction of a percentage of the big amount. Yes, it is a little bonus... for the money you spend on the site.... but it is so small... that it makes no impact on your losses.  Roll Eyes
Reaching $332k with only $2000 of net loss is very difficult IMO. It's less than 1%, 2000 / 332 000 = 0.6% On which games do you have a such small house edge? AFAIK only blackjack is offering such a small one. But you need to be a very strong black jack player, who never makes mistakes. So I don't know if he is one of them but only few people are able to achieve that IMO.

Thanks for mentioning it here; already placed a bet on Swiatek and also placed some bets on the Men side. If the 'logic' is followed, the most likely final will be Alcaraz vs Kyrgios (others) so I placed equal bets on both. Hopefully no more surprises and than we should have a nice profit!

Kyrgios is out, but it does not change a lot, as he is "replaced" by Chaczanow, which is "others" too. But there is still Ruud (14.05) - I did not place my bet on him, I hope I will not regret.
Swiatek will play against Pegula (14.37) and she has big chances for win.

AFAIK Ireland is using the parimutuel betting system(aka tote betting) but what about UK precisely? Bets are only made through bookmakers at fixed odds or we can also bet against other bettors in a pool? Where can we find the current odds of the pool of Irish bets and of UK ones if it exists there please?

Quote
Should these measures prove ineffective at reducing impacts, the Administration should explore executive actions, and Congress might consider legislation, to limit or eliminate the use of high energy intensity consensus mechanisms for crypto-asset mining.

Quote
As of August 2022, published estimates of the total global electricity usage for crypto-assets are between 120 and 240 billion kilowatt-hours per year, a range that exceeds the total annual electricity usage of many individual countries, such as Argentina or Australia. This is equivalent to 0.4% to 0.9% of annual global electricity usage, and is comparable to the annual electricity usage of all conventional data centers in the world.
[...]
The United States is estimated to host about a third of global crypto-asset operations, which currently consume about 0.9% to 1.7% of total U.S. electricity usage. This range of electricity usage is similar to all home computers or residential lighting in the United States.

2387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Finding value bets on: September 08, 2022, 10:20:01 PM
In my country betting rates are heavily regulated by state so its hard to see some team getting more than 1.05 or 1.10 odds against very weak team. Even though I think many value bets come through such games when stronger one has many injured players (I am talking about football here) so 1.25 odd is not that bad still. On contrary I also experienced losing so called guarenteed bets (which I added to cover my losses). So value bet is only value after you hit with it.
Which is your country precisely? You seem to be a turkish speaking man from what I've read in your previous posts... But almost all casinos have games and tables dedicated to turkish speaking people, and they seem to try to attract them so I'm surprised when you say it's heavily regulated in your country. I was thinking the opposite precisely. Anyway, if you are looking for good odds it's not difficult to find a crypto sportsbook to bet there, your country doesn't seem to be a country banned by usual offshore gambling licenses.
2388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Mobile Gambling Is Leaving People Ruined and Unable to Quit on: September 08, 2022, 09:58:12 PM
It's a joke if you ask me.

Please show me the difference between a gambler who sits in a casino all day, a gambler who plays on his computer all day and a gambler who plays on his phone all day. The action is the same, the time spent is the same, money wagered is the same. Each of them will say that it's easy for them to gamble and each will blame the place where they lose money. One will blame the physical casino, the others the online casinos. If they had access to a virtual reality casino, they'd blame that and said it's all because of easy access and immersion.
Yes you're right but when you go to a land based casino you meet other people, who are real, so you can't hide your addiction, they see you and you are aware of it. But on a computer or a mobile phone nobody sees your addiction, even his wife and his kids in the testimony of the article didn't realize how addict he was becoming. Then you are not ashamed in front of anyone for having those compulsive habits, if you hide it.

I just remembered this thread, when visiting one of the gambling section:

Kings Club Poker, semi-private games, mainly for serious poker players

This reply, this reply and this one are pure garbage disguised as a supposedly certain quality by the lenght of the answer (they are not one liner spammers) and by saying things that to those who have some idea of poker but not much may perceive as meaningful.

Two of them are part of the spammer blacklist and I am not surprised that they write like this because it is clear that they have experience. They write in a way that is still garbage but may appear to be of some quality at first glance.

For me the problem is that they get paid for that.
I agree with you, some members are very talented to make long meaningless posts, not ashamed to repeat several times the same thing with different words frequently. It seems to prevent them from being reported to moderators and even from being removed from their campaign despite being already tagged as spammers, receiving almost no merit and posting hundreds posts by month, they even receive bonuses for their spam actually.

2397  Other / Meta / Re: [List]Gambling Board Spammers; Concerns, Solutions & Suggestions on: September 04, 2022, 11:16:13 AM
Maybe some campaign managers feel pressured in to filling slots therefore allow many things to take place which they normally would not. It depends on the campaign manager and also on the business being promoted. I agree, lowering payment and bonuses will probably bring an even lower quality of post from spammers but there is no easy solution except to self-moderate threads in boards where signature spammers and scammers are running riot.
It's not up to campaign manager all the time I think. Sometimes, project representative also mention some rules and among them, I have always seen they have a high number of post requirements in gambling sector. Personally, I don’t like to force users to post on any section but projects requires a minimum number. Campaign manager can recommend to lower it which I did too but sometimes, you can't follow your own. You have to hear the project owner.
I don't understand why "project owners" as you say don't pay participants with free bets/spins/chips? It would guarantee them to have posters knowing their platform and being real gamblers. They could also ask a minimum weekly wager requirement on their platform to be accepted and kept in their campaign or at least some proofs like a gambling history sent by PM showing that the participant is a real active gambler.

I went through a few of those megatrends, I wonder if even 5% of the post would qualify as being about gambling.
Since I'm pretty sure a lot of the posters don't actually gamble or don't have a clue how to place a bet other than on the winner, most of the discussions there could be classified as football fans talking about their team, one post in one hundred talks about spreads, about handicaps about anything, it's about X beat Y so they might beat Z, A is a great player or bad one, xerox copies.
I totally agree with you, they don't even try to make predictions most of the time. Since they don't know anything about gambling they just make posts about the last game or race they've watched on TV, listened on the radio or read on a sports newspaper.

That being said, I've been always curious, in that whole mess of a board, is there a horse racing topic as I haven't seen one and it's the only spot I actually gamble on, not just watch.
You are right, it would be a very interesting thread though. It's sad to see that real bettors like you don't even dare to post there anymore. Sad

Weekly Boost

VIP weekly boost: https://playstake.io/bonus?code=BoostWeekly0309ahB2
VIP weekly boost total: $9,902,586!

Please note that the weekly boost includes all activity from midnight GMT on the 27th of August to midnight GMT on the 3rd of September.
Claimed and got more than the previous week, because during the mentioned time period lost few hundred dollars. Claimed the weekly bonus, wagered a little and turned it 5x and then lost everything. Now once again waiting for the next week to do the same. Cheesy

Yes seems that Stake gave additional amount for the latest weekly bonus. I can say that this week weekly bonus is like double amount than what I received last week although my gambling activity is the same between last week and this week. The latest weekly bonus was a bit delayed and so many users were complaining in chat room both in the website and in Eddiee's stream  Cheesy Many people were not patient enough for a delay, even worst some users said that weekly bonus is no longer available and will be removed from the benefits of the VIP system.
You didn't understand what Vaskiy told, he said he got a bigger bonus than last week because he encountered more losses this week ("lost few hundred dollars" precisely), he didn't claim to have earned an extra bonus. If you are not aware of that, the weekly bonus is not based anymore on the amount you've wagered during the week but on the amount of your losses. Now, it's a kind of loss back actually. So you should check that but despite your larger bonus you haven't earned money this week normally.

I think @Coin_trader knows more about this because he told me a few weeks ago while I don't pay much attention to it
My best achievement is level 3 ( Expert) and this month has been reset to level 1 I didn't find the full article about this

Oops sorry I've found it what you are looking for may be available here  Loyalty Club information and Terms & Conditions

Thank you very much for this link BitcoinHunt3r but it's not mentioned in this page or I don't really understand what they mean. Because as I understand from this, you need to reach back the normal number of points of your level to keep your rank, then this level safety zone is just the normal zone actually, if I'm right. Well at least with the 1.25x point multiplier it's easier to reach back when you are master.

Quote
12. To keep your loyalty level you need to collect the points needed for your current level each month. If during the active month you do not collect the points needed to retain your loyalty level from the previous month, you will drop 1 level next month. For example: If you managed to reach the Master level in June, then after your level (loyalty) points have reset at the start of July you need to collect at least the required amount of points for Master during July to keep the Master level for August. Should you not achieve that you will drop one level at the start of August as the level (loyalty) points reset - you will then be on Expert level.

even I just realized that some games/providers are not included in the points calculation.
It's usually written below the screen of the game.

2400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Strategies & Betting Psychology on: September 04, 2022, 07:23:40 AM
Thanks. I appreciate your calculation. But if I should be sincere, is this necessary for a gambler? I think using the amount of money you can afford to lose is enough. Or is it not? Rather than to be making a calculation that most gamblers are not using at all (not you, I mean the article).
Yes I agree with you, I don't think many people are doing those calculations because it's not possible to correctly guess the real likelihood of a match outcome, unlike gambling games like roulette or dice for example where it's fixed and known.
But it's still important to always evaluate its order of magnitude I think, even unconsciously.
If you have a @1.01 odds while you think the team has only 50% chances to win, it's not a good deal. A good deal is an odds above the inverse of the real likelihood(or your own evaluation of it actually). That is to say above (50%)-1 = 1 / 0.50 = 2.00 here.
