23841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Research Bitcoin & Global Poverty -- Help and advice needed on: December 06, 2014, 10:04:27 PM
do something practical.

for instance if you are going to employ someone in america for 2 hours to go out and survey their local community with whatever questions you want locals to answer, paying the employee minimum wage for america $7.50 ($15 for 2 hours), but pay them in bitcoin 0.04btc.
then find someone in the poorest country of the world to do 2 hours of surveys and pay them 0.04btc aswell

obviously you will have the results from whatever surveys you ask your employees to question their communities about. but you can then ask how the employee's themselves used their bitcoin income, what they spent it on and how much that bitcoin could be utilized at its best.

EG in america it may only by 2 sandwiches and a coffee.. but in a poor country it could feed someone for a week.

i see bitcoin as being the levelling field that can bring the poorest countries hourly labour costs inline with the developed countries. where by a programmer in India would be paid 0.02btc per hour, the exact same as an american.

or

would capitalism kick in where bitcoin would be used to find programmers in india to pay them 0.01 PER DAY ($3.50) and continue the process of migrating labour away from developed countries and into poor countries to keep costs down for greed/profit of the employer.

obviously you have a list of things you will be researching. but i think paying anyone involved in your research the exact same amount to work for you and run around surveying their communities and that such, no matter what country they are in would, by itself yield some useful information.

23842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes our job so hard to spread awareness on: December 06, 2014, 07:49:24 PM
many people think fiat is too big to fail. that it will continue on forever. they have used it since birth and they think it will continue until death.

they need reminding that the Zimbabwe dollar has GONE
they need reminding that the french franc has GONE
they need reminding that the Spanish paseta has GONE
they need reminding that the finnish markka has GONE
they need reminding that the Deutschmark has GONE
....(i can name a couple dozen more that disappeared in the last 20 years. hello 'euro')

as for the future.
the russian, chinese, brazilian, african, indian currencies are going. (hello 'brics')
the american dollar, canadian dollar, mexican peso currencies are going. (hello 'amero')

so there is going to be a shift in peoples natural tendency to trust that piece of paper saying american dollar, to always be worth something. because soon enough people will just be using it as wall paper or toilet paper when the change happens. and thus people have the freedom of choice to shift into yet another government honeypot trap such as the amero/brics, or go with something thats both international and borderless and uncontrolled. that by its very nature will continue for atleast a century...

dont be fooled.... the american dollar will not be here in decades to come.
america will file for bankruptcy to not have to repay china (yes china own the majority stake in the US bonds) and then america will create the amero.

its already happening, many cities in america are now filing bankruptcy. here is just a few
-- City of Detroit
-- City of San Bernardino, Calif.
-- City of Stockton, Calif.
-- Jefferson County, Ala.
-- City of Central Falls, R.I.

so dont think bitcoin is a finished race... as most smart people can still hear the starting trigger, even if a few non believers think the race is over before they have begun to run. the energy and pace is yet to be seen.

bitcoin is just code, no arms no legs. no voice. thus bitcoin cannot force anything upon anyone, yet bitcoin can be clearly seen as advantageous to fiat in multiple ways. for smart people, they see the benefits without any third party speaches. for average joe, they may need some guidance to explain how these benefits affect them. and then the late adopters, well its always going to take them alot of time to see the benefits. so dont hound them endlessly if they are not seeing it instantly.

just wait and see what happens and be in a position to help guide people using honest practical advice into what bitcoin can offer that fiat cant
23843  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mark Zuckerberg investing $100 million in Bitcoin on: December 06, 2014, 06:57:04 AM
maybe he is buying 250,000 bitcoins and make a zuckerbrg trust before the winklevoss release theirs..

.. imagine it..

winklevoss's lose out twice with a great idea because zuckerburg releases their idea before they do

23844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin defeating fiat is very unlikely on: December 06, 2014, 05:11:38 AM
Bitcoin is not going to defete fiat anytime in the nea future.
How many years have we been hearing from the banks now that soon we will be living in a cashless socity, living only on there jacked up fees plastic cards.
But the are other ways, the banks have been laying the ground work on this cashless system for years now and they will probably come close to suceeding , some cash will always be needed.
I have seen a log of good work with things like bitcoin debit cards, one interesting company bitsim also looks good.
If people want cashless cards then just offer that with bitcoin.

Dont need to compete with fiat cash, only fake money, high fee plastic cards.

bitcoin wont defeat anything. its just code. it just sits there doing whatit should, .. and that is being a secure ledger system.
it hold no power to arrest anyone, it has no powers to shut down business or government.. its just code.. but the one thing is for sure, its alot better than fiat and as such peoples freedoms and choices will be where the defeat happens. people will move to bitcoin
23845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin defeating fiat is very unlikely on: December 06, 2014, 01:46:52 AM
not many people actually think that bitcoin will defeat FIAT.

FIAT is nearly dead all by itself, leaving people to voluntarily move over to bitcoin. without bitcoin even having to try defeating fiat
23846  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to invest my bitcoin on: December 05, 2014, 06:30:53 AM
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for when the Winklevii's ETF "COIN" launches.

Then GO ALL IN!!

Just messing, just go half in, should be an exciting investment opportunity.

ETF will be a big thing, but never throw all of your egs into one basket so i fully agree just go half in on winkles ETF

Don't invest in any altcoins. Bitcoin's depression dragged everything down with it, altcoins are being slaughtered. During this hard time you better keep your BTC, or even convert them to fiat if you want to be safe.

Some people say ETF is just the exit way for Winklevoss twins. They own too many Bitcoin and can't get out by dumping to market, that would collapse the price.

winlevoss trust is a bitcoin holding service. they are mainly selling "shares" of the holdings and not selling the coins themselves. thus its not a exit, but more so of a maximizing bitcoins potential value

23848  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do I start? on: December 05, 2014, 02:20:22 AM
give that a try, and also look into contacting coindesk and a few other bitcoin news outlets to see if they pay people for writing news articles.

dont limit yourself to the porn industry, and dont limit yourself to advertising on just this forum.

i definitely recommend the bitcoin.org website to get you started with a wallet.

as for grunt type of work, it is possible. basically anything you can do to earn dollars you can do with bitcoins too. i myself have been living on purely bitcoin for 2 years. though my income is not from grunt work, but proper career style of work, there are many opportunities.

grunt style of work such as offering small project services at fivver are small time and slow potential for income. id recommend listing all of your talents and skills that way the community can possibly guide you into the direction to make the best use of your abilities to help maximize your income.

its not just about computer geeks, any skill is useful. for instance we have seen people that can sing being requested to do voice overs and narrations for tutorials, news reports, promotional video's. things that music people never thought of using their vocal talents on.

so feel free to list all your skills and preferred work types and the community can come up with some suggestions

edit:
i was going to show the OP a few home truths, but ill wait till he waffles on for 9 pages before bringing him into reality
23851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin good enough; there aren't critically important improvements needed? on: December 04, 2014, 09:15:22 AM
7 pages and the OP has not learned a thing, and calls others that oppose his narrow minded and limited scoped process.

You have been so thoroughly revealed upthread to be a complete ignoramous, I don't understand how you don't feel any shame?

This is why it is impossible to argue with an idiot. They can never recognize when their ideas have been thoroughly vetted and defeated.

bank notes are not anonymous, i can think of 5 ways to trace bank notes. it is you that does not understand this and thus you are the one ignoring the reality of life,.

realise that nearly every single person that has replied to you, has said your idea's are flawed.. accept it as criticism and either change the idea. realise the flaw, and move onto better things that will be useful for the community.

arguing constantly with people that dont praise you, is not really helpful to the community or your real human self. so take a step back, relax, think long and hard about what your trying to say and then think about it in a truly practical way using proper scenario's which will actually benefit the community.

one day you may get the fame which you are obviously seeking. but i am afraid it is not going to happen in regards to the points you are endlessly trying to bash out over the last many pages. bitcoin does not have a flaw with what you are saying. bitcoin does exactly what it is suppose to do, the same as what bank notes do, the same as credit cards.

the sid issues you bring up have nothing to do with bitcoin protocols but to do with human interactions. no protocol change in the world will EVER truly solve it. the only solution is in the physical realm of reality.. meaning human choice and decisions in regards to how much info they give away.

bitcoin cannot hide warehouses full of rigs. neither can any altcoin. a warehouse is a physical brick, not code.
bitcoin cannot hide your name and address.. because they are printed on your birth certificate and drivers licence.

bitcoin NEVER asks for this information, and as such if someone was able to trace your real name and location of your warehouse of mining rigs. it has nothing to do with bitcoin, but more to do with the information you have allowed onto the internet.

as for my experience
single handedly, over $10million has passed through my hands with my work in the retail sector
single handedly i have helped 300 businesses start up
single handedly i have got an uncountable amount of people jobs, careers and experience

then moving into bitcoin i have got to the point that i am living solely on bitcoin. i get paid in bitcoin, life savings in bitcoin, pay my bills, luxuries and and everything else in bitcoin.
i have helped people set up businesses that accept bitcoin, helped inspire others where their flaws are so they can concentrate on their strengths, to increase their chances of succeeding in life.
i have multiple projects that do multiple things in the bitcoin ecosphere.

so please take this as positive criticism, you can argue for 50000000000 more pages on your same topic, the end result is a worn out keyboard and nothing more.
23852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin good enough; there aren't critically important improvements needed? on: December 04, 2014, 08:53:11 AM
7 pages and the OP has not learned a thing, and simply ends up calling others that oppose his narrow minded and limited scoped process.. idiots..

UnunoctiumTesticles: please be aware that many of us have rad your comments a multitude of times, put your idea's into scenario's and feasabily knit-picked whether they will do anyong on a micro-global or macro-global bases.. we have looked into the snowball effects of possible changes, and also an realistic long term benefit or damage of such changes, the result being.. most of what you say is based on human decision, not code..

i think you needs to take a few days off and think about things on a global scale and beyond the small context you are headbutting your head against. as its not healthy for you.

now it seems that you wants to get someone in court for slander. so lets correct you
1. slander is a spoken word with human breath.. libel is a written word..
2. unless your birth certificate says 'UnunoctiumTesticles'  then all people are doing is insulting a random name with no human reputation.

have a nice day
23853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most Influential Person in Bitcoin 2014 on: December 04, 2014, 07:57:25 AM
Andreas Antopoulos is likely going to be a very popular choice here. Perhaps we can research some specific events in the year in which he has been most influential.
I have a day at home today, so i'll see if I can put together some kind of timeline if I get some spare time from the housework  Cool

main one of this year was how he easily described bitcoin to the Canadian senate and then proposed they do nothing regulatory
23854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most Influential Person in Bitcoin 2014 on: December 04, 2014, 07:01:40 AM
andreas

he has helped governments, universities, merchants and average joes understand bitcoin beyond the advertised crap that speculators, mining hobbyists and media usually spout out.

he has cleared up many misconceptions and explained the untapped potential that usually gets unspoken. without him many businesses would not have adopted bitcoin. many governments would have tried to rule bitcoin and many users would have not understood bitcoin
23855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Micronations on: December 03, 2014, 09:30:55 PM

we do understand that micronation sometime just only a joke but still they have a community and even fans in around the i think if bitcoin accepted to the micronations community it will be nice to bitcoin to get more more popular

are you talking about the popularity of 200 people on a small sealand property, or the popularity of readers in an article of a news paper after using such efforts purely for publicity.

how about if each person got just 2 shops in each of their own hometowns to accept bitcoin
(multiplication effect is that many thousands of people will be using bitcoin(merchants) and that would then help to bring the many millions of people around the world to use bitcoin because they can use it at their local grocery store.
ontop of that if each person reading this got their local media outlet (paper or TV) to promote the local bitcoin adoption in your own towns. then the publicity will also be multiplied across the world and last longer than 15 minutes.

micronations impact on the world is negligible.. and although bitcoin is useful, its way better to get bitcoin adoption in area's where people really want it first. (such as your own town).

after all, having a news article where 200 people convince sealand to accept bitcoin will leave readers thinking.. hmm 'well us readers still cant use it locally and sealand usage is small, so bitcoin is still just a gimmick'.

but imagine atleast 400 retailers popping up knowing that would cause atleast 200 news articles and people of those 200 towns seeing that they can indeed use bitcoin locally, and thus try it. which then snowballs into groups of people in each of those 200 towns coming together to expand bitcoin in each of their towns and come up with new business idea's which are not easily as possible on the FIAT business model.

such as street markets where market stall owners can take electronic payments with just a scan of a QR code. no card readers, no payment processor subscriptions, etc etc.

if only more people thought about increasing bitcoins coverage and less about the glamour of seeing the word bitcoin in a news article. bitcoin would begin the 'mass adoption' phase alot sooner.

i can easily pay a few of the top media outlets to advertise bitcoin, but if the readers response is simply "well i cant use it locally" then its money wasted. so lets push bitcoin where it really needs to be pushed.. ie merchants, NOT media.
23856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "You can't leave the governemt out of monetary policy" on: December 03, 2014, 07:54:11 PM
governments can do what they want with their money. after all its their copyright..

bitcoin however is not a government product and they do not even own the mechanisms to make or control it..

23858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Project Longstrike on: December 03, 2014, 05:03:39 AM
well in comparison to lets say detroit in america..

bitcoin crimes are smaller across the world than in comparison to one city in the world.

think of bitcoin like the dollar, can be used for good and bad.. but most people will se it for good. after all with all the internet surveillance and ISP's storing customers data, internet currency is not as anonymous as handing bank notes to each other.

23860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin good enough; there aren't critically important improvements needed? on: December 03, 2014, 01:35:20 AM
cash(bank notes) are not anonymous. they are just peices of paper that never ask for human identifiable information.
neither does bitcoin......

and i have now read the cryptocoin jargon and i can already see 5 ways to trace people.

again no matter what you try to do with the protocol, it wont make it unlinkable/untraceable in regards to a governments efforts to seize your funds or your freedoms.

no matter if you swap coins between 2 different altcoins or 200, whether each altcoin promotes itself as having extra features or not. i guarantee you that there are atleast 5 ways the government can find you.

bank notes cant even protect you, and that have no traceability/linkability requirement of human identity...

cant you see the bigger picture of the reality we live in.. only humans can be the deciding factor of how,if or when thy get traced. no code, no software tool, no computer based thing will ever be 100%.

again only humans can be the deciding factor of how close to 100% you can get
