241  Economy / Auctions / Re: Broken Butterly Labs Jalapeno USB connector fell off on: October 19, 2013, 06:18:37 PM
Got it today... not sure who was trying to fix it last or why they put so much effort into obviously trying to solder the 4 corners, but glued the corners down, fixed the 2 out 5 pins on the usb... and it's hashing away.

thanks.

lol, from the look of the original pic, it looks like someone ripped up one of the board trace.

they did, actually two... there was a faint sliver left of both of them, enough to solder on to.

I'll try to get some pics up shortly, I put it back to the original (not using the aftermarket fan), so I'll have to take it apart again.

243  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: October 19, 2013, 12:12:02 AM
I was having issues running Minepeon 0.2.3a with CGminer and the USB Block Erupters. If I ran more than 12 Erupters (on three powered D-Link DUB-H7's), CGminer would crash my Raspi Pi. Tried to switch to BFGMiner, but could never get it working.

Decided to try Minepeon 0.2.4PR2 and loaded the BFGminer config file. This time Minepeon is running BFGminer with 23 USB Block Erupters on 4 D-Link hubs without a hicckup for almost 9 hrs. Only thing I lost is my LCD output to my AdaFruit LCD and LCD Systems Info screens

If you want, I have an image of 0.2.3a w/ BFG set as the default, along with OS packages updated (about two weeks old), http://tk1337.com/downloads/minepeon-0.2.3a-bfg-2gb-im1.img.zip - Made it awhile back for a few people on here

Updated prices to reflect market change.
245  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: October 16, 2013, 07:41:58 PM
Sorry for the nub question. But are there instructions for setting it up with a static ip. I don't seem to be having any luck with getting the pr2 image static IP working. Had no problems with the 0.23a version

Cheers

I noticed on 0.2.4 PR1, that within sudo wicd-curses, go to preferences (shift+P) it had the wired interface setup as ifb1, I changed it to eth0, saved (f10) went back to the main screen, then went into the preference for eth0 (should be first device on the list, you use the right arrow to go into the configuration for said device), setup the static ip information, saved (F10), then connected (Shift+C) and all was good.

Hope that helps.

@Bonz sorry Sad

Going to update prices within the next 24hrs to reflect the current market prices.
247  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Daisy Chain RHB-500 on: October 15, 2013, 06:44:52 AM
As far as the RHB-500 goes, I have them in a star configuration, eight hubs connected to one root hub, all running off a single RaspberryPi w/MinePeon.

(Ignore the two empty hubs, I was preparing for some Blue Bitfury devices and moved 16 erupters to my test rPi, which is at my desk in another room, also for testing MineP
eon 2.4.0 pre-release.)

Also connected to the same rPi over proxy are the 4 blades which is off to the left.

(PS - Ignore the room color, lol, I haven't painted this room since I bought the house, I'm lazy...)

Throw in another order for 10 Erupters for me, payment will be OTW.

IMO I'd rather wait an extra week than have issues with the units. We all know this isn't going to turn into something like BFL, these guys are doing what they can to get us the best deal for our BTC.

I'm patiently awaiting these to arrive at my doorstep.  Grin Can't wait to get these up and running!

Crap, I got overbid.

Winner: Save yourself a ton of pain - look for the service which fixes PS3 consoles, they have the gear to put the port back. I found a local place who told me they will do it for $20 including the port connector.

I have a SMD re-work station and all the necessary tools/equipment, just need to order some solder paste since I'm out at the moment, but thanks for the tip, shouldn't be too much of an issue to fix, hopefully.

I am running the test version 0.2.4 with the fix applied for the double hash rate and noticed that the hardware errors reported via the web interface and the via ssh are different, the number of errors are the same but the percentage is much lower via ssh reported by the miner. The miner is showing .81% and the web interface is showing 3.22%. Not sure if it is a bug or a difference in the way the percentage is calculated between the web interface and the bfgminer. Anyhow thanks for the awesome work, donate is turned on.

I saw that, I think the ssh rate is in error.  I have just switched from cgminer to bfgminer and saw a large increase in HW errors.  After several reboots it appears to have settled in and I'm seeing about 2.5-3% in bfgm, about the same as I saw in cgm, but now have twice the erupters, 13.3 Gh/s.

I really don't think it's related to MinePeon, however I will say I'm seeing a ton more HW errors in BFGMiner 3.3.0 versus 3.2.1 or 3.2.9. I've tried playing around with a few settings but still getting a high rate of HW errors then what I ever got before on BFGMiner.

However I also see that the display on the web versus display on the miner is incorrect as well. Web is showing 15.97% HW Errors while the miner is showing 1.5% HW Errors, I'm going to take a look at the code when I get done running errands, unless someone beats me to it.

This is why it is a pre release, I have not been sure about the error rates for a while now, and bfgminer seems to do something different then cgminer.

Feel free to jump into index.php and see if you can remedy the matter, one thing that might be of help is if you ssh in and;-

touch /opt/minepeon/DEBUG

That turns the debuging on and you will also get the raw api output at the bottom of the page. (Delete it when you want it to go away).

Neil

Well, doing the math, not even BFGMiner displays it properly unless there's another factor involved, I'm going to go through the code in BFGMiner to see if there's another factor involved in computing the % of HW Errors, as I'm *assuming* that % is the amount put against the total # of shares. I could be way wrong on that, if I can't find anything I'll message Luke to see if he can shed some light on this.

256  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS: Apple Magic Mouse on: October 13, 2013, 03:17:25 AM
As title states, I have an Apple Magic Mouse for sale that has had the box opened (by myself) but was never used and I forgot to take it back to Apple as I never ended up using it, thought I would. It was intended to be used at work, however I haven't had the need to use my laptop since I bought the mouse (& the one time I did, I didn't bring the mouse).

So lets see if I can get some BTC for it before going to craigslist or eBay. Retails for $69.99 USD, make an offer. Would prefer not to ship out of the US.

Looks like you took out PiMiner and Audafruits LCD files, is that correct? Just wanted to make sure before people start asking.

Yes sorry, not so much took out but did not put back in.

I am going to use those two as examples of plugins (they make excellent candidates).

Sounds good, I'm gonna post on your forums some things I already see.

2. SMTP Auth.  I need a bit more time to get it right.

If you want me to work the SMTP, let me know...

That would be great!

Download the image and set your own git details, /opt/minepeon is connected to the new test repo (https://github.com/MineForeman/minepeon-base branch static).

If you can do that and commit it I can get back to working on cgminer.

Neil

P.S. Now we have this we can move onto mobileminer and pluggings to.  Sorry I have taken so long to git this image out, it seems every time I fixed a but I found a new one Wink .

Can do, I already have all the branches forked, so I'll get to work on the email tonight, the image is being written to a card right now, I have about 20 miners standing around doing nothing since UPS delayed my shipment of hubs (yay), so I'll hook some up to test on donations.
