If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing, regardless of what I could have made money wise.  For everyone who collected them and kept them, congratz and to those that sold some and made a killing congratz, the 2018 A&G #83 turned out to be one of my special moments here on the forum and I thank everyone for sharing and enjoying the experience along with me.  I still had a few PSA 10's from a close special friend that I passed down to my son.  Keep up the hunt because that silver mini is still out there, so are some red and black mini's.  Glow's brooklyn's and no #'s too.   Cool Cool Cool Cool

Was anyone in here able to grab one of the printing plate cards? Was just kinda curious. I am mad at myself for missing out on that. I think there was like 2-4 right made right? I remember seeing one that sold in my hometown of Springfield IL and if I remember correctly it’s sale price was not very high. I want to say maybe $250 or so. I know you guys probably know all this info.

I had the cyan plate I think for around 35.00.  I did not interfer with the bidding on the black or magenta plate as I wanted them to go to those particular bidders.  The yellow was found on its own by the bidder of the black plate.  I wanted to share with everyone when these cards first came out and gave many to my friends like brooklyns , no #'s etc.  They are only enjoyable  to me if others have them also and can enjoy them.    The plates are all together where they should be now, with a very good person. Cool Cool Cool

I noticed the black graded #83 has gone about 3x in the past 30 days.

graded 9s are selling for anywhere from 1500-2000

I would anticipate this price to increase to the 10,000 range in due coarse with the halt on PSA grading.

Those all-black,  full-sized x 10s are very special
There is a lot of real estate to have a flaw which should br apparent due to contrasting colors.

Add to that the fact psa 10 x packs selling for 800+

Psa 9s are relatively a bargain

I agree the 9's are a bargain as they are a mint card.  The 10 is so costly now to even get one.  It will cost 300.00 to have a card graded and a chance at a 10.

Agree PSA 10's are going to be sought after and will be few out there

Agree. PSA put out a cryptic ad suggesting that they would use more of the grading scale and how 9s and below should be just as cherished as 10s. i didn't save it, but this way, PSA 10s can get major returns whereas now 10s are quite plentiful.

i wish PSA had sub-grades like BGS and labeling similar to BGS' black label.  10s have been diluted with so many being given.  A BGS black label will always go for more than a PSA 10.  i think everyone will agree.  Am i wrong?

I don't see any gold border PSA 10"s for sale anymore.  The last one I think sold for around 3 to 4k and now there are none even for sale.  I would imagine the next one will go in the 7 to 8k range if it's a PSA 10.  The black label beckett is in a class of its own, it is above gem mint, but it might be equal to a current grade of PSA 10 if PSA has tightened it's standards.  Psa should make a PSA 10 pure red for a gem mint + type rating.

Maybe i'm mistaken and mean no disrespect. But if you look at the third photo on the eBay listing, it is an order sheet for 100 US custom trading cards. You can go to the Topps website and order custom made cards with any name, picture, team logo and description. Thats what I was thinking these were.

Yes they are custom ordered cards from Topps,  but look at the back of any custom ordered card from Topps then look at the back again at this card.  Do you see something different about this card stock.  These are not my cards by the way.

Pretty neat, this is my first time seeing them.

Looking at them on eBay it looks like someone made custom Topps cards and is selling them. What is to keep someone else from creating the same card on the Topps website?

These were made by Topps and take a very close look at the back of the card.

Notable sale

Raw /50 no number nno 83 Cryptocurrency- April 7, 2021 - 450

Congrats to the owner on this rare find (not me)

I just looked at the photo and it appears the upper right corner might have an issue, hard to tell with photos

hmm. item is way underpriced though. i was thinking a zero was left off of 4500 or a 2 left off the front of 2450.

we may not see many of these again.  i would keep even at a 5.

I completely agree, it's a 5k card

Thanks, FattCatt and wheelz.

Anyone know what a sealed 2018 A&G hobby box sells for nowadays? I have a few that I may wish to unload.

My guess is around 450 to 500.00  and crazy numbers for the x box.

All just in my opinion but, I was thinking of what would be in the ultimate collection of the #83 and I came up with the following

A regular common PSA 10 including a PSA 10 mini regular back and PSA 10 a&g back
A gold border and black border PSA 10
A silver glossy PSA 10
A brooklyn back PSA 10
A no # PSA 10
A glowie PSA 10
A must have to top this of is the regular or mini 1/1 glossy which only come in PSA 9. none higher

From the x-box a regular PSA 10  a mini PSA 10 and one of the red mini PSA 9, none higher
The silver mini would be the ultimate but, isn't around.

Any 5x7 PSA 10's or blank backs would add some nice touches to the collection.

This is the ultimate collection without the printing plates.

There are beautiful packs you can add like the 3-card #83 cello pack and PSA 10 regular and X packs.

The dolphin just thinking out loud Cool Cool

I submitted 15 of the full-sized Ginter X black cards a few weeks ago, and they sat, status received but unchanged, until late last week. Now they’re in the grading phase, so I hope to have them back soon. However, I can’t help but wonder if (A) they will speed thru the grading process in order to catch up on the backlog and (B) how that speedier grading may affect the results. We’ll see soon enough.

Good luck to all the others who are waiting on graded cards.

Chris @ TBPCo.

Hi Chris

At what service level did you submit these cards?

255  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Topps Allen & Ginter Reference Thread on: March 31, 2021, 01:26:17 AM
Hello PSA Customers,

Since my last update, the momentum behind the hobby has only accelerated. In fact, our Collectors Universe President and CEO, Joe Orlando, recently shared the reality of the surge of submissions to PSA.

I’ll try to further illustrate what has happened. The sheer volume of orders that PSA received in early March has fundamentally changed our ability to service the hobby. The reality is that we recently received more cards in three days than we did during the previous three months. Even after the surge, submissions continue at never-before-seen levels.

Effective immediately, PSA is temporarily suspending our Value, Regular and Express service levels. This will allow us to fully unbox and receive the recent surge of orders and focus on our most impacted service lines.

The cheapest cost to grade is 300.00 making a PSA graded card super expensive.  In the past you might consider buying an ungraded card hoping to score a 10 a save a little money but, that idea is out the window for now with PSA.  Anyone with PSA 10"s is truly sitting on a gold mine.  Won't be surprised to see prices go sky high on ebay.

I guess the 10th and final piece has not been recovered.
257  Economy / Collectibles / wanted to share a really cool box on: March 30, 2021, 12:59:24 AM
Hello all

Wanted to share a couple special cards, most know the gold border #83 but, here is the 2015 bitstasher ACE metal wallet .  Somehow this ace escaped from the set.  The custom box is a loaner.  the final box will hold the graded cards upright

Grading done by machines may be the way of the future and more reliable and accurate.  So accurate that it might make a 10 near impossible.

Who?
What?
Where?
When?
Why?
How?

Who is the gold standard in grading magazines?

Any walk-in services?

CGC but, it's only an opinion.

On a more serious note, I know from experience if you tried to call PSA you would get voice mail that says leave a message if you want a call back.  Then it would say sorry, the mailbox is full call back tomorrow.  I'm sure they would love to get the PSA 2 card back as I doubt they want it shared on instagram.  I personally if I was running PSA, would be having a discussion with the grader and also the reviewers as it goes through two quality control stages after it is graded.  Not going to ride this ride anymore, let me off.   Angry   I doubt they do a down charge, only up charges
