242  Economy / Gambling / Pocketdice / bitlucky - Provably fair system? on: November 28, 2014, 02:24:42 PM
In the Provably Fair Systems of these two sites, the server seed and client seed are rerandomized for every single bet.
The server seed is calculated by the server before the roll and cannot be seen by the user before he rolls. the client seed is apperantly calculated by the user's browser and can therefore not be influenced by the server.

https://pocketdice.io/provably-fair
http://bitlucky.com/provably-fair-gaming/

my questions are:

1. Why do these sites not allow you to set your client seed yourself? since the user only knows the Hash that encrypts the server seed and the initial random numbers, he should not be able to predict rolls by setting a certain client seed, yet the system would be a lot more transparent for the user. am i wrong about this?

2. pocketdice creates 30 random numbers ranging from 1 to 6, after all the shuffeling is done, the first 2 numbers in the string are the roll. does it matter for the outcome, how many random numbers they generate? wouldnt it be easyer if they just generated 2 initial random numbers instead of 30?

3. what exactly do the seeds have to do with how the numbers are shuffled?(mathematically)

Thanks alot already for your help=)

@ComboChris + @holderbert:
Golden gambling principle #1 is: don't play with more money than you are willing to lose and at this stage I'm not willing to risk more.

@Bobblehead Pete:
Site is ~1 day old... but I also operate another gambling site for over a year now.

I dont know, the low bankroll looks verry unprofessional to me

251  Other / Meta / Re: What Can I do When a famous member is threatening me because I gonna Competition on: November 18, 2014, 02:59:14 AM
Is it vod?
I doubt it is vod, however the OP started an escrow service shortly after making this post. The OP does not have very much trading history, certainly not enough to operate an escrow service. I would say the negative trust threat was warranted if the unnamed person was threatening to give negative trust because you would "compete" with their escrow service

naw it isnt Escrowing=P

(note: scratches are on the plastic case not the piece)

I have several extremely rare NORFED collectable privately minted .999 purity silver bullion pieces. They range from affordable to EXTREMELY RARE. Let me know what you are looking for. Will take BTC. You will have a hard time finding these anywhere else. Some pictures are linked above, more available on request. THESE ARE COLLECTABLES - NOT JUST BULLION. The NORFEDs are so rare that they can go for extremely high collector prices as only a small number were produced. Note: These are privately minted silver bullion. They are NOT minted by the US Mint, US Treasury, or US Federal Reserve. The face values are only the suggested retail value and do not represent the actual value of the piece. These rounds are NOT legal tender.

If you just want regular bullion I have 1oz, 5oz, and 10oz pieces available as well, some US Eagles, Englelhards, Philharmonic, as well as other generic and rare rounds. Additional photos, other collectables, prices, and item details available on request.

I also have silver acid tester solution bottles for each shipped in the US.

Note: brand and bottle are different but contain the same volume and type of solution.

I will also buy silver at spot price + actual shipping cost USPS, no tracking/insurance (you can get tracking/insurance for your records if you like, but I won't pay for it, I never have problems without tracking). I will buy .999, 90%, and even STAMPED purity jewelry. BTW I have multiple methods to test for fakes so don't waste your money shipping me junk Smiley

It was very safe to invest in just-dice but the site closed Sad

Other options to make really risky investments in Dice sites here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=826466.0 but I don't feel comfortable investing in them.

255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: November 16, 2014, 03:09:38 AM

and what the hell is up with the posting bot ?
that looks weird

I am now no longer including the old crappy data that stamp is putting out. When they start putting out real data, it will be included.

The prices at the top are wrong on that one (they were still being taken from the stale data) but they will be correct in the next one.

alright thanks

259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2014, 04:08:19 AM

Yea less than 925 transactions left until ATH daily transaction vol! Thanks for pointing that out.

When does the "day" end.
lets make the day a month!
260  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2014, 04:07:08 AM
maybe I sound pretty stupid, but can anyone explain me quick  what

that indicator tells me "MACD"

Blue line is like speed, histogram - like acceleration. So if blue line is >0, price going up, if histogram is above zero (i.e. green) speed is going up. Change from red to green is inflection point, switch from dexeleration to acceleration. The indicator is trailing, so it shows averaged price movement some time ago, but assuming price movements are oscillating and have inertia, it has some predictive power.
