241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you know if your cold storage wallet is secure when bought on Amazon? on: January 31, 2018, 12:56:08 AM
Thank you two, I bought three hardware wallets on Amazon and they were sealed and seemed very legit. When I configured them I did it as a new wallet and when I wrote down the seed phrase it was generated by the wallet itself. How would you know if that seed was pre-made by someone else, say the person that sold it to me on Amazon? Would it have been pre-written on the seed paper I save somewhere safe? I've heard they would give you a pre-made pin?

So bc the wallet created the seed upon the configuration that means that it's a new seed correct? I ask this bc I understand whoever owns the seed owns the coin and that's what made me paranoid since I bought from Amazon, a re-seller of the ledger nano s and keep key hardware wallets (3). All came pre-packaged and sealed and seemed and smelled brand new I guess I'm just nervous bc I'm new to this sector and want to make sure that I protect the few coins I have, and not have all my eggs in one basket that why I got 3.

I'm pretty sure mine are legit bc it asked me to configure as a new device, I set a new pin for them, and then wrote the seed it generated word by word number by number in order in front of my eyes. I just ask because I recently heard of people buying scam wallets and got paranoid.
242  Other / Off-topic / Need for atomic swaps in exchanges? on: January 31, 2018, 12:42:25 AM
So what are is the cryptoverse's educated opinion on the fact that we have several exchanges and companies utilizing atomic swaps to save ppl. fees in converting one coin to another coin without any trust, and amongst multiple exchanges, will we have more exchanges adopting the usage of atomic swaps?

Is it the future of exchanges? Will it leave some currencies in the past bc they all don't accept and swap?

Thoughts and opinions welcomed peace and profits.
243  Economy / Trading Discussion / I'm looking for a place to learn to arbitrage safely for a profit, any tips? on: January 29, 2018, 10:24:22 PM
After exchange fees and price differences across exchanges and all, I want to walk away with a profit. Any preferred tried and tested exchanges anyone would recommend me starting on? Also what other suggestions would you give me on how to arbitrage in the most secure manner to ensure that I get my money back from that other exchange where I sold my coins on for a profit? How does the process of getting profits back to my starting account work?

Thanks for tips and advice Cryptoverse!
244  Other / Beginners & Help / How do you know if your cold storage wallet is secure when bought on Amazon? on: January 29, 2018, 03:24:14 AM
So I heard that even a cold wallet if bought on Amazon, could be compromised today. So they went on explaining that it's possible somebody has the private keys and sell a "brand" new looking wallet to you and then once you set it up and put your coins/tokens on there one day they could possibly wipe your wallet clean. I wanted to get any educated opinions on the truthfulness of this claim, is that true?

I understand if the wallet comes with the 12-24 word seed with it when you buy it or if it comes with a pin number included, but what if I or anyone who buys a wallet on Amazon get the wallet and creates there own pin and writes down the seed for themselves and the paper has not been written on prior to that, is this scenario safe?

I might be a little paranoid right now that's why I'm asking for educated opinions only. If it makes any difference I own 2 keep key wallets and one Ledger nano s.

Thanks
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Any good advice on how to get your ERC 20 tokens onto Ledger Nano S? on: January 28, 2018, 02:48:52 AM
Hello Cryptoverse I'm believing somebody has done this before... I read before I bought the nano s that it's possible to store erc 20 tokens on it. I am having trouble because the token I'm trying to store is not on the ledger wallet manager when I open up my wallet. So any advice on the best, safest and most efficient way to get any erc 20 tokens onto my nano s?

I appreciate concise and simple feedback, I will share this in the future with anyone else who needs help too so plz make your response as detailed, thorough and user-friendly as possible thanks Cryptoverse.

There's power in numbers.
246  Economy / Speculation / Re: Downward trend after 1/26/18 CME expiration? on: January 28, 2018, 02:32:14 AM
The trend is away from the Bollinger band which means its not going to drop steeply any further. Divergence is going back to 0 and above indicating a strong possibility that price will rise. Other supporting indicators include MACD going to head over EXP, this same is indicated by the CCI which is going to go into positive territory. BTC has consolidated quite a bit. Buy now while its cheap!

Killer chart, thanks for sharing and I agree it is going to go back up after this Bank/Wall Street manipulation.
247  Economy / Marketplace / How much longer till gov. starts regulating crypto in USA? on: January 27, 2018, 03:26:38 AM
Well we know gov. is taking action in Korea right now making sure that business is cleaned up which is a good thing in my opinion that way institutional money can come in. How much longer until uncle sam in the us comes and starts creating laws in the cryptoverse, making ppl register w the sec and all this other hooplaw red tape? Hoping it doesn't happen for another 5 years so these ICO startups can really make some great advancement before all the gov bs comes. Thoughts on time-frame?
248  Economy / Speculation / Downward trend after 1/26/18 CME expiration? on: January 27, 2018, 02:27:22 AM
Well you guys and gals many predicted that we would shoot up on the 26th, well I'm still waiting and I checked a few minutes ago and BTC is now in the $10k range... I'm starting to think we'll continue down in this bear trend to around $8-$9k and then many will buy in there and end all this lolly gagin around, come on BTC let's go to the moon already! Any educated opinions on why we haven't shot up yet? And are we gonna experience a bigger pullback than 50%?
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this sideways price action killing you like it is me? on: January 26, 2018, 06:22:26 AM
Just wanted to thank you guys for your awesome responses, I agree after today we will see some rock star action again since the cme futures expire, thnk God! But yes very true when it's down it allows new money to come in which is very nec. for our long-term growth and bullish$100k-$1mil/BTC expectations!
250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC end like .com bubble? on: January 26, 2018, 06:11:37 AM
I appreciate everybody's comments very interesting and good reading. I agree with everybody in at least one way and at the end of the day do understand that not every company survives however the few ones with the best product and trust of the ppl. will so thankfully I'm invested in BTC and power to the ppl. bc gov. and institutions only know how to screw the ppl. these days, and more than likely in the past too lol
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do you think BTC & Cryptocurrency function will last long term? on: January 26, 2018, 05:51:29 AM
We all believe in the blockchain technology apparently or else we wouldn't be on here. But there is a fundamental difference bw decentralized and distributed cryptography vs. the currencies that are right now on top of the technology fluctuating in value based on what people say it's worth.

I believe that blockchain technology will be around from now until the end of time, there is no putting the cat back in the hat lol However who is to say especially with so many unpredictable variables and forces that could scare every single person that's either invested or thought of investing in crypto from not investing or taking their initial capital out?

Of course the underlying tech would still exist and still be functional and usable however will it always be a store of monetary value?

I believe that it would take global mass adoption for it to become and remain a 100 yr.+ global currency. It would require that many of the unbanked people of the world all believe in what the blockchain and cryptocurrency stand for. I know I do for now, but can we all do a more thorough job of sharing resources and educating our friends, family and loved ones, even strangers that'll listen for the sake of our long-term potential of keeping the currency portion of the blockchain alive?

Let's make the future one of transparency, of freedom to spend how you please. To not have governments and institutions take advantage of the frameworks they promise to protect. Let's make our world a fairer place for our children to be raised in, an equal playing field where everybody has a fair shot at prosperity not only those born with a golden spoon in their mouth or in the "right" nation or even the "right" skin tone.

God bless us all, protect our crypto-economy and create a path for the future and longevity of our social and economic cause, power to the people. Freedom, transparency and equal opportunity to all.
252  Economy / Speculation / Will BTC end like .com bubble? on: January 25, 2018, 01:31:25 AM
I am personally a believer in the blockchain technology however will the currency aspect of the tech hold value and become the new way of transacting into the future or will it eventually bust like the .com bubble did? Any educated opinions welcomed.
253  Economy / Speculation / Is this sideways price action killing you like it is me? on: January 25, 2018, 12:17:27 AM
I've been watching the price hover around $11k for what seems like an eternity... I'm sure we're all wondering is it going to boom soon or go further bearish? Well I've been researching and once this CME futures contract expires on Jan. 26, 2018 we will see some price action for sure mark my words, what's your opinion will it boom up to around $20k or shoot down to around $8k? I'm bullish, Bitcoin to the moon! At least until it busts, we shall see.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will fall of BCC bring in unwanted investigation from FBI? on: January 18, 2018, 09:34:30 PM
Obviously there's been blood in the streets with prices lately, however do you think BCC going down will bring in further investigation that will also give the rest of the cryptoeconomy a negative look?

If they do investigate what will this mean for the rest of the solid coins?
