241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My main writing clients have stopped BTC Payments on: November 26, 2018, 07:51:37 AM
This just shows that the two writing clients are aware that Bitcoin is currently too cheap, and they think it is not cost-effective to pay with Bitcoin now, which means they also recognize the value of Bitcoin.
So you stand in their perspective, this is a good thing, because everyone thinks Bitcoin will appreciate in the future.

Dude,
they think it is shit and don't want to be bothered with it.

That is not a good thing. Unless you want btc to die from non-use.

242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is completing another cycle - when the sun sets it always rises again on: November 26, 2018, 07:42:37 AM
The recent decline in the BTC is a good thing for cryptocurrency generally, it takes the scammers out of the market and makes room for other great blockchain projects to shine, gain momentum and grab media attention as they bloom.

Without question BTC is a safe haven asset class, it is completely uncorrelated to any other economic asset and because of this, it will always be sought after, particularly if mainstream markets tank. Make no mistake, the global economy is in stress and BTC looking cheap during this time makes for a brilliant sunrise to come.

Damn , I hope you are a paid shrill , because you are seriously wrong.

BTC is not a safe haven, it is a speculative investment , as such it can go to $0 .

It is tied to Fiat thru it's requirement for it's electricity bill to be paid in fiat.
Currently it is unprofitable for many miners to maintain their mining operations.

Quote
According to Monday’s bankruptcy filing, GigaWatt has less than $50,000 in assets against nearly $7 million in creditors’ claims.
Creditors range from the Douglas County Public Utility District, with a claim of $310,000, to two Singapore-based firms, Cryptonomos PTE, and GigaWatt PTE, with combined claims of $3.67 million.

If you look at the wall street markets and the crypto markets,
they are both tanking right now, so your theory that they are not linked is utterly destroyed.

243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My main writing clients have stopped BTC Payments on: November 26, 2018, 07:29:14 AM
I have been receiving BTC payments for writing since 2016 by my two main clients. Only odd amounts of work, but still always been paid in BTC. They have both stopped paying me in Bitcoin as they said the volatility is driving them up the wall using it, and have wanted to go back to PayPal :/

The volatility sucks. I am less bothered about the price but more want it to stop jumping over the place. This is one major issue with adoption.

Can't blame them , having to constantly monitor the amount before sending is a pain in the ass.
Between that and the fluctuating transaction fees , paypal is much easier and less volatile to use.

As long as your amounts have to be converted to fiat equivalent, it will always be a pain.

244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold has been down 90% Nobody said "Gold is Dead" - BTC is the New Gold - Right? on: November 26, 2018, 06:21:02 AM
Hmm,

Do you know what happens when the price of gold decreases,
the utility use of it increases.

Meaning more gold is used in Jewry , more gold is used in electronics, more gold is used in dentistry.

Basically the lower prices gold has other uses absorb it supply and help maintain price over time.

Bitcoin only real use is as a payment system , no matter it's price.
Many fools try to say btc is a store of value, the recent 80% loss in value should give those idiots a clue.

Low Price BTC is used as a payment system , the higher btc price the less effective payment system it becomes, as transaction fees become excessive.
BTC HAS NO OTHER REASON FOR EXISTING, and no other usage to offset a price drop.

BTC is INFERIOR TO GOLD & SILVER, because of it's lack of utility and dependence on ASICS miners that can't maintain profitability due to an energy waste issue that has been completely ignored since 2013.

If the ASIC miners quit, btc dies, no one can quit and your gold quits being gold.

Gold's other uses remain and no one needs to spend millions of dollars per month to keep it running like btc.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do some people still believe that Bitcoin "Core and Cash bilaterally split"? on: November 26, 2018, 05:57:47 AM
Franky1 is the biggest advocate of this idea in the forum. I respect that, but it is very debatable. What if Bitcoin Cash increased its block size and doubled its monetary supply? Would that "bilateral split" idea be easy to accept? I believe it won't.

Did you mean to say Block Speed and not block size, as BCH has already increased block size?

Doubling their amount to 42 million coins, so in a world that has 7.7 billion people,
you think that is enough to be a global currency used by all.
It is not , a True Global Currency needs at least a billion or more coins.

US $ Fiat alone had ~80 trillion dollars according to a CIA 2017 report.

246  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who here brought @ $20K? on: November 25, 2018, 08:26:28 PM
and why did you do that?

Fear, they were afraid they were going to miss out on the rise to $100000, which is never coming.

People forget, that in a market for someone to win , someone else has to lose.

Everyone that brought in above $3900 are now officially the losers and that # of losers will increase as the price continues downward.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC - The unbeaten King on: November 25, 2018, 08:18:05 PM
So you mean to say that if the price is moving down means no faith on btc , so if the price moves up the faith comes. So immature reply it is. You have to see the market and movement and its usage. Btc is always king and all coins follow it.

Uggh ,

Save your faith for your true religion.

Price move up because people buy more,
Price move down because people sell more.

Nothing more than that.
Why they buy or sell is their individual thought process.
IE: They think it will make or lose them money.

Your pretense that btc is a king is foolish, it is merely the product with the highest marketcap and that is variable (ie: can change at a moment's notice.)

You're losing money because you are investing emotionally , based on a false system that you're believing makes a damn bit of difference,
people that think logically are making a financial windfall at your emotional expense.   Tongue

248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Roger ver and craight wright faketoshi are person who to blame right now? on: November 25, 2018, 08:07:57 PM
Do you realize how stupid , you all sound hating on 1 single guy for the price collapse of a crypto market.

He is 1 guy, he is not your president ,  he is not your king, he is not the head of the IMF.

Get the fuck over yourselves and quit blaming one guy because you are upset at your poor investment skills.

Grow the fuck up , you silly bunch of Nancys.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC - The unbeaten King on: November 25, 2018, 07:54:38 PM
Cryptocurrency is a maturing market and it is here to stay. Believe in Crypto. Belive in its tech.

Hmm,
You don't have to believe in a technology.
It functions the same no matter what you think of it.

You believe in a religion.

You analyze and make observations on a product/service which is what btc is.

Observation
btc price is falling
btc is slower and more expensive than newer models
btc is failing to manage a run away energy waste problem, that is a direct threat to it's security and miners profits

Save your faith for a deity , btc does not deserve that.  Smiley

250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin investors more focus than altcoin investors? on: November 25, 2018, 04:41:15 AM
Hi, I'm a crypto developer doing dapps and blockchain-related software products.
I have found some interesting difference between bitcoin investors and altcoin investors.
It seems like bitcoin holders(like you guys) are more focus when discussing news and crypto-related issues.
Altcoin holders are more...how do I put this....more impatient and cannot focus on any subject for more than 3 days.
What do you think of this phenomenon?

I think you're an idiot,

now excuse me while I go chase a Squirrel.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

251  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will not sell under 20.000$ ! Why you do ? on: November 25, 2018, 03:56:11 AM
I will never sell under 20k$, even if Bitcoin go to 100$ ...

The peoples who bought Bitcoin at 19k$, why you are selling them now ? You bought at 19k$ sell higher than that !

If you don't beleive at this technology do not buy anymore.

No worries , All of the btc miners will give up if the price drops below $1000 and it will kill the network.
You'll never see it at $100 ,it will shoot straight to $ZERO from $1000 and stay there forever. (Dead btc Network)  Tongue

The PoW tech being so energy wasteful is the problem that causes it to be unprofitable to mine.
PoW Tech is broken , only the foolish refuse to see that.
252  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices are destroyed, everyone is disappointed on: November 24, 2018, 08:25:17 PM
Bitcoin had proven itself to bounce back several times and this time it will be the same.

FYI:
Past Performance is No Guarantee of Future Rewards.   Cool

There are No Guarantees, all Crypto is a Speculative Investment.

The Energy Waste of btc has been ignored since 2013 when people 1st noticed it.
It destroys anonymity of the miners as all of their locations can be easily found , and a simple flip of an electric switch ends their mining.
Miners are turning off asics due to losing electric subsidies and lack of profitability.

The Energy Waste is a Security Threat & a Direct Threat to the profit margin of the miners, ie: No Profit, No Miners, No Bitcoin.
And these threats have never been greater to btc than they are now.
Ignore them at your own financial peril.  Smiley

254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Roger ver and craight wright faketoshi are person who to blame right now? on: November 24, 2018, 03:59:22 AM
Isn't it caught in the crossfire because BTC hashrate is being used to support ABC? Genuinely curious as I haven't caught up with the drama.

Yes, AFAIK it is ABC who is receiving the hash power from bitcoin which resulted into a drop in the overall hash rate of the bitcoin network, though that's not enough to actually point a finger over what happened with the prices recently. Other traders surely have panicked when the price crashed lower than $5800 and everything started to crumble, and no, they might not have known about the drama between ABC and SV so it's somewhat wrong to assert that everything that's happening is solely the cause the petty drama between CSW and Roger Ver.

I was also the impression that Antpool and Bitcoin.com have re-routed their hash power from Bitcoin to Bitcoin Cash ABC that's why they have reported that they're winning the war against Bitcoin Cash SV.

i still don't understand why people think "bitcoin" miners redirected their mining power to these altcoins! BCH already had a big mining power coming from Antpool and Bitcoin.com and it remained that way. while SV needed to get power which CSW provided but not from bitcoin.
additionally if you check the hashrate charts you can see that when the fork occurred there has been no hashrate change for bitcoin. but after the price dropped the hashrate went down, and only a little which is logical since lower price == lower profit and not all miners can continue mining under those circumstances. and mining BCH and SV have been even less profitable (you lose money if you mine SV) so i doubt anybody bothered with it.

Whether or not the forks or the energy waste causing miners to go out of business because mining btc is no longer profitable.
https://www.blockchain.com/en/charts/hash-rate
The btc hash rate has declined
8/26/2018  =>  61,866,256 TH/s
11/21/2018=>  40,349,972 TH/s

That is ~35% drop in less than 3 months.
For a coin that promote it's energy waste and Hash rate as it's security, it now means btc is ~35% less secure than it was ~3 months ago.
Unless people decide to be honest and admit btc is secured by bitmain greater than 51% centralized control as it has been for years.  Wink

FYI:
Blaming two people alone for an entire industry market crash is beyond asinine.
Blame the miners, Blame the buyers & sellers, Blame the tether scandal, and when you done with that ,
get a mirror and point your finger at yourself and then blame yourself for being the dumbass that fell for it.  Kiss
After that you have now blamed everyone , and now can get on with your life.
255  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suicidal ideation on: November 23, 2018, 06:45:49 PM
We are humans and for that matter, we are bound to all forms of psychological trauma when something is not going well. I have been wondering what some people who bought bitcoin since last year and early part of this year might be going through. For instance, somebody who bought 1BTC as at last year and he or she is in possession of it up till date, what do you think such a person might want to do to him or herself now that bitcoin has drain so heavily. I think such a person might be psychologically lacerated and thinking committing suicide. What do you also think and what advise will you offer to such a person?

As long as their is Life , their is Hope.  Smiley

But also learn from past mistakes , don't repeat them.  Smiley
256  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prediction from 'Experts' on: November 23, 2018, 06:42:27 PM
I came upon this article, and the so called experts weigh in on the current price dip and why they believe Bitcoin would reach $3000.

I am usually very skeptical about trading advice from popular cryptocurrency influencers as it could be made with personal motive, but I was drawn to the statement made by Former institutional trader, Tone Vays;

"BTC constantly drops 80 or 90% to make sure people know what they’re doing, that they understand why they’re in BTC. And I think there are so many big buyers of Bitcoin and they weren’t buying it for the right reasons. They were buying it to make a quick buck and to be famous and to make money for their investors"

But true believers in bitcoin would be mildly shaken by price dumps, especially as it is expected in this space.

Tone Vays Statement is totally opposite to the store of value nonsense many in here use to promote btc.
It is not a store of value , if it keeps LOSING Value.

So the real question is Bitcoin a product/service or is it a faith based cult of ponzi retards. (IE: True Believers.)  Wink

The Bitcoin Crowd seems unaware of the Disclaimer provided in the stock industry.
Heard it all the time , while investing in stocks.

It is a Disclaimer:

258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where were you and what were you doing when bitcoin took this huge $1,000 Dump. on: November 23, 2018, 03:31:47 AM
and what did you think of it, LOL?

For me it was a disaster, I was just getting ready to do some btc transactions, and all deals fell through basically, and there is nothing looming in the horizon.I hope the market recovers fast.

I did pick up some cheap coins however.

What did you do??? Let us know.

You overpaid for those coins, prices are not yet done going down.

Well, since I started this thread, bitcoin dumped another $1,000, so what do you think of the 2nd $1,000 dump, and do you think it's going to go down further? I think we could actually see $3950 tonight...

There should be another $2000 lost before the end of the year.
None of the support floors can hold until ~$1500 , and then we don't know how long the btc miners can hold out.

At last there is a real crypto enthusiast. Smiley

Your intention is right the crypto currencies are found to spend or transact between the two users without much burden and any third parties support.Don't worry the price won't go to $1 when the time comes you are going to spend it so just chillout and enjoy the red days.

Hmm, I was going to say a real dummy.

Diversification is key , putting all your eggs in 1 basket is a recipe for disaster.

* Bitcoin is not guaranteed to survive ,it is a product with No Guarantees ,
