241  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Version 0.6.1 release candidate 2 on: May 02, 2012, 11:20:10 PM
Hello,

Sure, it says: Version 0.6.0-Beta

I checked shasum and gpg signature so it should be what was uploaded to sourceforge.

It should not read 0.6.0 ... seems something is wrong.
Readme on Windows says Bitcoin 0.6.1rc1 BETA, but dialog in the client shows v0.6.1rc2-beta, so that's fine.
QR-Code fix is in and working here!

Dia

thats good, at least the windows version is ok.
Somehow I feel this might have been packaged wrong or something,
maybe what I have here is in reality 0.6.0rc2, that would also explain
the alert that I am getting Smiley

Gonna redownload and check again, if it is the same I will try to get rc2 from git somehow.

Edit:
Yup redownloaded from sourceforge and it was the same again.
So I downloaded from git tag 0.6.1rc2 and it is all better now,
about dialog says 0.6.1rc2, qrcode not crashing, progressbar is back too  Smiley

It looks like that commit has been merged?
It is merged in git, but it seems to be missing from this rc2.

Can you bring up the about dialog and tell us exactly what version it shows?

Your paying in BTC, it's a very volatile fluctuating market right now that keeps going down and up and down and up ha ha.  Pay in dollar's and it comes out to be cheaper.

Hmm do you know about bit-pay? Afaik they also have a whmcs integration.
With that you could mostly ignore the volatility and make the BTC prices about the same
(They receive BTC and transfer you USD).

Why should someone use BTC if he can use other payment and gets it cheaper, you know.

Been wanting to visit http://blockchain.info/ for the last 2 days, not getting a response at all from a server, also http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ is reporting it as down, what's up with that?

It seems they have some technical problems at the moment, see:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40264.msg875957#msg875957
246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: betco.in's a ghost town now? on: May 02, 2012, 03:36:37 AM
Thanks for keeping us informed about the progress.

I only had 1.7 BTC on your site, so not a big loss. I am not mad at you Smiley
It seems to happen to the best (recent linode thing for example)

Just a bit sad about the whole thing, because it was the only bitcoin poker
based on opensource software. I hate this flash software others are using...

@mem
You sure that you are not mixing something up here?
Afaik you are talking about betcoin.eu or something, this here
is about betco.in and it is/was a poker room. I think they are 2 seperate things.

Hello,

I am playing around with it on a Kubuntu 12.04 64bit Virtualbox Guest.

It shows this in the status bar:
URGENT:security fix for Bitcoin-Qt on Windows: http://bitcoin.org/critfix

Isn't the security fix old news, why do I get that message?

And the segfault in the qrcode message dialog is present in this version.
Maybe you should include this commit from diapolo:  https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commit/d844cb58a83c19070d815fc5328d868a4ab3d077

248  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmit - Bitcoin shopping platform / auction house (new: multi currency support) on: April 27, 2012, 07:55:01 PM
Hello,

there seems to be a problem on the page where you can view/send privatemessages,
if I go here https://bitmit.net/de/msg/inbox, I only get an almost empty page with error message:

Code:
Fatal error:  Call to undefined function  htmlimgflagurl() in /home/secureco/public_html/bitmit.net/global_functions.php on line 335
249  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmit - Bitcoin shopping platform / auction house (e.g. buy GOLD FOR BITCOINS) on: April 25, 2012, 01:53:57 AM
Hello,

so I am surfing around and have found an article from a german newspaper,
and they link to bitmit. But they forgot a / at the end so the link ends in a 404 Sad

Code:
https://www.taz.de/Bitcoin-Leitfaden/!92086/

would be cool if you could make this "http://bitmit.net/de", work like this "http://bitmit.net/de/"

Also it would be nice if there was a qrcode on the page where you do the payment, for people with smartphone wallets.
250  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: betco.in's a ghost town now? on: April 16, 2012, 04:22:45 PM
Oh man that sucks Sad

So everything is gone?

Hippich do you have some more info on how that could happen, that
they hack in all your computers?
251  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 0.6.0 release candidate six on: March 30, 2012, 04:09:04 AM
Hello,

tested on slackware64-current (well almost current, have not installed the latest glibc upgrades)

I am always building from source, so the first thing I noticed is that it doesn't compile with berkleydb-4.6 anymore, older 0.6rc worked.
Code:
src/db.cpp: In constructor 'CDB::CDB(const char*, const char*)':
src/db.cpp:97:19: error: 'class DbEnv' has no member named 'log_set_config'
src/db.cpp:97:34: error: 'DB_LOG_AUTO_REMOVE' was not declared in this scope
make: *** [build/db.o] Error 1
After google it seems "log_set_config" was added in berkleydb-4.7, upgrading berkleydb to 4.8.30 solved that.

Everything else seems to work so far.
252  Economy / Services / Re: OFFICIAL launch www.bitcoinportail.com on: March 18, 2012, 05:55:06 AM
WTF!..

Switch to chrome to prevent that auto-shit from happening.

Or install Addon NoScript and/or disable the Java Plugin Smiley

But OP really should make this optional, like with a checkbox that has to be ticked or something.

253  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 0.6 release candidate 2 binaries available on: March 02, 2012, 06:00:20 PM
Please use the latest code.  The difficulty calculation method for Testnet has changed as of February 15th.

Ok I can try again with the git-version. I am obv. using 0.6rc2 right now.

Then I'm suspecting that you're connecting to nodes that are using the old rules. (Which I'm guessing is a lot of testnet nodes.)

I have the following two lines in my test bitcoin.conf:
connect=69.164.218.197
connect=173.208.219.162
Which I believe are the Faucet and BlockExplorer. I think they're on the new rules.

Yeah, I guess you are right. Because the same problem happens with bitcoin from git.
The 173.208.219.162 has got me now to block 47815, same as the testnet blockexplorer.  Smiley

I just tested 0.6rc2 on the real bitcoinnet and it catched up the blockchain just fine.
(Only thing is the little icon is still spinning around, but I have the same blockcount as blockexplorer now hmm.)
255  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 0.6 release candidate 2 binaries available on: March 02, 2012, 03:22:17 PM
Hello,

I am running a self compiled bitcoin-qt (testnet) on slackware64-current with encrypted wallet right now.
Somehow I can't get the complete testnet blockchain. I am stuck at 98% progressbar and
debug log is full of entries like this:

Code:
sending getdata: block 0000000021cbb05f0c8d
sending getdata: block 000000000a120fcd48af
sending getdata: block 00000000232c07b16fca
received block 000000001c369f4beabf
ERROR: AcceptBlock() : incorrect proof of work
ERROR: ProcessBlock() : AcceptBlock FAILED
disconnecting node 89.101.202.214:18828
Disconnected 89.101.202.214:18828 for misbehavior (score=100)
connetion from 89.101.202.214:18924 dropped (banned)
connetion from 70.183.24.226:2783 dropped (banned)

Have deleted everything and tried again, and stuck again at 98% hmm.
The little spinning icon says I am at block 46722 from 47399.

BTW if you notice it says "connetion" from blabla dropped, so there is a tiny typo in src/src/net.cpp line 816.

In the about dialog I have some weird characters at the end of the text stuff (i use the de translation).
Code:
{2009-2012 ?} {11 ?}

Made a wallet backup with the new option, it does by default name my backup Documents.dat.
Maybe it was looking for a Documents dir, which I don't have Smiley

256  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Please help test:Bitcoin versions 0.5 on: November 21, 2011, 09:13:40 AM
Good morning,

Release Candidate 7 binaries are available at:
  https://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/upload/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.5.0/test/

Difference between rc6 and rc7 :  rc7 does not remove BDB (Berkeley database) log/* files, because that is causing un-readable wallets on some people's machines (all the reports were from people running 64-bit version of Linux, but that might have just been coincidence-- I could never reproduce the problem in any of my test environments).

This seems to fix my problem, bitcoin starts now after it has rewritten the wallet.dat.

Hello,

tested your new software a few days ago in a freeroll, looks pretty good.

I have to say that the beep sound after every action is very annoying if you play on pokerstars
at the same time. Because it's the same sound there, but it only plays if it is your turn not after every action.
Would be cool if that could be changed.

258  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Please help test:Bitcoin versions 0.4.1 and 0.5 on: November 20, 2011, 07:34:15 AM
Version: 0.5.0rc6 upgraded from bitcoin(-qt) git from 15th October with wallet encryption enabled
OS: Slackware64 13.37, have multilib environment but bitcoin is built 64bit.

It starts and says wallet needed to be rewritten, restart to complete.
After that it fails with:

Code:
$ bitcoin-qt

************************
EXCEPTION: 11DbException
Db::open: Das Argument ist ungültig
bitcoin in Runaway exception

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'DbException'
what():  Db::open: Das Argument ist ungültig
zsh: abort      bitcoin-qt

Argument ist ungültig is german for: invalid argument

Notes:
I am using berkley db 4.6
upnp is disabled by adding "USE_UPNP=-" after the qmake command (bitcoin-qt.pro says this is not supported, but it worked)
and this wallet has some manually imported privatekeys which I did with pywallet.py (was done before encryption)

With a new generated wallet it seems to work fine so far.

So the automatic rewriting of the wallet.dat fails for me, how to find out more about
what happend, is db_verify useful?

Code:
$ db_verify wallet.dat
db_verify: file unknown has LSN 1/303274, past end of log at 1/638
db_verify: Commonly caused by moving a database from one database environment
db_verify: to another without clearing the database LSNs, or by removing all of
db_verify: the log files from a database environment
db_verify: Page 0: metadata page corrupted
db_verify: Page 0: could not check metadata page
db_verify: wallet.dat: DB_VERIFY_BAD: Database verification failed
zsh: exit 1     db_verify wallet.dat
Thats what it shows after it was rewritten, my backup shows no error if I do that.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: screenshots of ancient bitcoin client? on: October 09, 2011, 11:42:29 PM
Hi,

How about not having to wait 24 hours to download the block chain to be able to use it? How about transfering BTC's being instant instead of waiting 1-2 hours until 6 verifications?

How about making the UI less Linuxy and more like an Apple UI? Easy to use for everyone. If I have to read a manual/FAQ to figure out how to use it then it is already a failure.

I guess thats a bit offtopic, but check out the multibit GUI: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=43616.0
it uses bitcoinj and downloads only the blockheaders (like the android wallet on my phone) should be much faster to get started.

And the confirmations thing is just the way it is designed, still much better than a bank which can take days.

Luckily, I woke up early enough to have a moment on my PC to check emails.
You should have received it.

Thanks man!  Cool
Will use your service again if I need another steam game.
