What is the fastest single card?
In terms of raw mining performance, probably the 7990 (though it's actually a dual-GPU card, and I wouldn't want a dual-GPU card for anything but mining, microstuttering can be a bitch in games for example). I think the 290x is the next one down, but it's also pretty expensive. The 280x is the best value for money card for mining at the moment from what I've heard. It's up in the ~700KH/s range while being significantly cheaper than the 290x.

I started to mine the second the wallet came online with 2.2mh , found 5 blocks between 1:19 and 1:35AM then i swapped to OGC launch. Boot my wallet today and 4 blocks have vanished and only 1 got confirmed ? Were the other 4 orphans or ?
There were some issues with the launch, so that's not too surprising. Most of us lost out on quite a few blocks. How do people get more than 1 mhash? What kind of rig are you guys using.
All it would take is a dual-GPU system with a couple of AMD GPUs. A couple of 7950's or higher could pull 1MH/s or higher. Or a single 7990 or possibly an overclocked 290x. You also don't need to use SLi/Crossfire for mining, so you can get away with mixing up the cards (for instance a 7870 and a 7970). In fact it's probably better to not use it and run them separately. I'm tempted to buy a 280x when I eventually make enough money out of all of this.. except there's a stock shortage on AMD cards at the moment and even a 280x would only give me a 2.5x increase from my 670 or so (to around 800KH/s or so), which still isn't that useful outside of the first day or two of a new coin's launch. I guess I could hit around 1MH/s with the two cards, assuming you can mix and match AMD/Nvidia cards for mining (I assume so). But eh..

At this rate it's going to take almost 4 full weeks for the difficulty to even decrease, since it currently takes nearly 20 minutes per block and will likely keep rising.
The extreme price manipulation on Cryptsy certainly isn't helping either (if whoever it is that has those huge 2500+ CAT orders actually allowed prices to rise up so that mining CAT would be somewhat profitable again, we wouldn't be in such a dire situation).

What could be the price for the start of the exchange?
some people say = CAT
I do not think so CAT is over priced, ya? idk. I don't think many people will want to sell their coins for less than 10,000 monacoin for 1 BTC. I would want at least 5,000 for 1 BTC. Who knows if this coin will make it to exchanges, there are new coins out every day. This coin is actually looking pretty good to me. I think it will make it to exchanges. If anything CAT is vastly underpriced at the moment, given that prices are still hovering around 0.001 when difficulty just went up nearly 3x and network hashrate has plummeted. I think there are some large players manipulating the CAT prices to be lower than normal though (there are some 2000+ CAT buy and sell orders on Cryptsy that seem to be all owned by the same person which are forcing CAT prices to hover within that price range).

I do not think so I think 1 CAT : 8 MONA would be a good ratio. Though maybe start it off at 1:5 and let the prices even out naturally.

Coin from Japan, hope it works, 1 coin= ? satoshi? Any Guess? Hope u make good PR and give away.
This coin didn't have a good launch but it was definitely a way better launch compared to the mooncoins instamine launch yesterday. If people keep mining it this coin, it will most likely hit exchanges in a week. It will sell for around 2000 to 6000 monacoins for a BTC. Considering I have nearly 1500 now, all with a mere GTX 670, I'd be ecstatic if I could sell it all for .25 BTC, considering it's taken me like 2 weeks to even get ~0.12 BTC or so from nothing from trading all over the place. Thats the reason why people like mining coins at low difficulty when the coin is first released lots of coins. People have to keep mining this coin and get the difficulty to 300 or else the coin won't even be added to an exchange. Well I'm still mining even though I'm now only getting maybe a dozen coins an hour, though my own pitiful 300KH/s isn't going to help the network hashrate out much.

Oh nevermind, I seem to be getting payments again.

Hello,
The person who started this thread is not the developer. The original post will probably not be updated.
Thanks
so where the fuck is the developer¿ The dev is most likely Japanese, so you'll likely never see him here. Given how high difficulty is at the moment I might stop mining soon. I have around 300KH/s myself, and this difficulty is making it impossible to get any more MONA.

Thanks! Yes 6 minutes cooldown is annoying! Diff is 1500 (on raven) Why so high? Try another node, my is @60MH or something, P2pool is regulating to get ~1 response per second so it is rising diff. Switch to less crowded one. should i open another p2p node for this ? happy new year everyone btw There is 4 nodes and power is not well distrubuted. About 80% of pool is on my rav3n. node which is weakset from all Also, this is my home pc so if one of my kid want to play it can lag a lot... It would be best if miners would swap to another nodes. When mine on same address it will continue to add payouts. I'm playing around with the less busy nodes, but still not seeing any payments even with valid shares being submitted. Rather confused.

I'm not getting any MONA now.. is there something up with solidpool.org:9904 or something? I'm occasionally submitting valid shares but getting nothing out of it.
Had the same problem with rav3n.dtdns.net:9904, though that one was also disconnecting a lot. Aren't the 4 pools linked or something?
|
|
|
I'd try solidpool.org:9904 instead, rav3n.dtdns.net seems to be having issues (at least for me).

Thanks! Yes 6 minutes cooldown is annoying! Diff is 1500 (on raven) Why so high? Funny, it says 0.00775 for me on the site. Though I'm barely submitting any shares at the moment so something seems to be going on. Also I keep getting disconnected from the stratum.
|
|
|
rav3n.dtdns.net:9904 is working great for me at the moment. Gonna stick with this one for now.
how i create account there? You don't. You just use stratum+tcp://rav3n.dtdns.net:9904 for the address, and your wallet address for your username. Also this 6 minute post cooldown and the fact that the site keeps thinking I've already posted when I try to post after the 'new post' warning is getting on my nerves. Hmm.. I keep getting stratum disconnections now and then, though it does reconnect pretty fast. EDIT: And now I'm apparently not even submitting shares, thus no payments. Great.

Yeah I enjoyed solo mining this. Made a combined total of around 1372 (with a little help from mona.2chpool.com). Given that I only have a GTX 670 as far as GPU mining goes.. I'm pretty happy and now I know exactly how to solo mine, since this was my first real test.

Then it was just a case of starting the wallet with that .conf file and letting the GPU rip (you can also set up a CPU .bat file if you want to use your CPU with minerd.exe or something). Most of those nodes are useless by the way, since I copy-pasted the file from another coin to get it working (it can't hurt anyway).

http://mona.2chpool.com/ is working well now. the difficulty is going up fast though so has any exchange picked up this coin yet? I would definitely say this was a better release than mooncoin. Hopefully this coin makes it to an exchange soon. I like this coin so far. I might keep it for awhile. Next coin I will learn to solo mine. Pools are too far behind solo mining. You've got to be kidding. This release was horrible. No source code. No info about network. Just instamine by the coin creators. Garbage. The information was there, you just had to look. This was my first attempt at solo mining and I did fine. Stop blaming others. It was certainly a breeze compared to the MOON launch, and even that was better than CAT's launch.

i was mining doge and got much more than this in the first day... something is not working right
MONA is also worth a shitload more than DOGE per coin. Or at least it will be, given the much lower total number of coins per block. With DOGE it's 1million DOGE per block with a block time of 60 seconds, while MONA is 50 MONA per block with a block time of 90 seconds (at least when the difficulty catches up with network hashrate). All things being equal, 1 MONA would be worth around 30,000 DOGE.
