If we all start buying what we want in extra DRK and after that try to make some kind of agreement not to sell.
I know it might sound stupid but it might work

"Everybody start buying" sounds like a great idea, even in small amounts.
"agreement not to sell" is a prisoner's dilemma.  It would benefit everybody to hodl, but some people will betray the cause due to purely rational self-interest.

To quote Robin Williams (as the Genie): "Well, here's hoping"

You are right , some would indeed do that but we should try to persuade by telling them it is not really interesting to sell.
I am in Crypto now over 1 Year , and feel that its DRK or nothing anymore , hope that more think the same

We can plan this for the first DRK anniversary : the 18 of January.
What do you think guys and gals? Massive coordinated buy (even individually small) by all the community, until a threshold of 0.008 (or whatever) then we all leave a buy wall at this level...
What do you think? Can be a good idea?

I can throw some power on this idea.
18th sound good.

Sounds good to me  , I can tell what buy orders I will set up over here
This is the best timing I believe , slow price rising, then after introduction of InstantX

Because I have been accumulating it won't be a massive amount, but I'll celebrate 1 year by buying into the sell orders and maybe playing some dice Smiley

FRIENDS, tell me please !!!
(...)

Well, let me see if I can help you:

1) when you buy your cryptocurrency in an exchange you can be tracked, especially if you supplied them with your personal info. Using Darkcoin' s Darksend your privacy will be restored, and they will no longer be able to track you.

2) Darkwallet is a different project. It has got nothing to do with Darkcoin.

3) Bitcoin is not really anonymous. so, you will always be tracked if using Bitcoin. Only Darkcoin will protect your privacy.

I hope I was able to help you.

Cheers.

YES I AM !!! thank you very much !!!
2) I know it's a different Projects, I asked when it comes out ?, promised at the end of the year, but it or not ..
1) (little point), it turns out that boldly with DARKCOIN can transfer money to the card visa, and it does not keep track of ...
get perfect launder money?

thank you very much !, your answer very full! and helped me a lot!

And thus, the plan to launder stolen credit cards via drk was hatched.

Is drk's birthday in 10 days?? WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO??

Third release of $MN$ is ready! This release has added..

- Monitor / Alert for Masternode "Active" status
- IP Addresses
- Add Sum of wallets setting
- Mouse context menus
- Couple small fixes

She's a bit ugly, but customizable alerts and layout options are up next. Please let me know if you have any problems!

This program monitors your Masternode balances and sends you either a text message or email notification when you are paid.

Normal view...

Currently only available for windows 64 (soon to change)

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/mn-v3-updated-receive-text-message-or-email-notifications-upon-masternode-payment.2805/

HaHaaa , yes she is not the prettiest
but i wish i had the same for a MAC !!
well done, must be so super helpful !
 Wink

I know its been slow movin brother man, but I'll have your fancy looking MAC version. Unless someone comes up with some time consuming brilliant ideas there's not a whole lot to add except visuals, builds for MAC and linux, and fancy reporting. I'll keep knocking stuff off the todo list Tungfa, not far to go!

i would love to see a chart masternode-count / date.

I think we have about 20 or more new masternodes every day.
fun to watch the cryptsy chart, looks like all the daytraders send their coins to masternode operators.
Darkcoin.cm has someusefull stats  Wink

you the man
Masternode owners and pretty much anyone with any interest in drk should definitely take a stroll through http://www.darkcoin.cm by darkchild. I use the hell out of both it and drk.mn and tip both.

I have been thinking about the alt coin race and our position in it and have been feeling really good about dark concerning the ways in which it still is bitcoin, and what are the ways in which it differs from bitcoin. With vertoe's work we will in our next upgrade be taking advantage of 0.9x bitcoin core, which is a few years worth of world class upgrades which I don't believe any other serious competitors in the anon space will be able to enjoy if I'm not mistaken. Drk api is also compatible with BTC api which makes adoption much less of a headache. The ways in which drk in its current and future state are different than bitcoin are ways in which bitcoin was intended to be but is failing(trackability & transaction time being painful). If you look at the coins who are in the top market caps, you see "coins" that don't resemble the satoshi currency at all. Obviously an NXT or Maidsafe type deal has massive utility but its not really a satoshi coin and not really competing with us. The ones that do resemble the satoshi coin are obsolete, and then there's us.

I don't keep up with our anon competition as much as I should and don't want offend anyone's pet coin, but I think its interesting to consider cryptonote is satoshi-less, as well as not having 5 years worth of world-class upgrades. It doesn't seem like zerocash is right around the corner, and by the time its here we will have 3000 masternodes, instantx, ip obfuscation and god knows what else. We don't have gifs in the in-wallet chat and that is a good thing. I hate to say it, but so far there has only been bitcoin, and the altcoins. Bitcoin is definitely gonna pave the way and drk shows serious homage to btc, sticks to the plan, but is providing genuine added utility.

Nope, I was the main backer back when LTC was a thing, I've asked the dev of it to add DRK when he revamps the site and will back the bank for a lot if/when he does, we have a good trusting relationship so I hope that will happen, I'll follow it up next year.

Oh gotcha, I get an itchy finger sometimes but don't happen to be holding anything they are playing Smiley

No I meant what are the risks of using a vltr, amazon or digitalocean VPS since you are using a cold storage setup beside being DDOSed?

The risk is the easy target for FUD that using mostly a few VPS operators will provide. The more decentralized the MN network is, the better.

Gotcha. Maybe it'll be better to just leave the minimum VPS requirements in order to run a MN and to remove the vps provider names from the MN guides such as Tao's to make newbies do their own research.

I've been advocating that for awhile. Too many just blindly follow it using Vultr because the guide says to use Vultr when the instructions are nearly the same assuming you find a VPS with similar specs and use Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit as the image.

Is it posible to make darkcoin wallet available on raspberry pi? Then we would not need VPS and would be able to run masternodes from home. Or there is a fear for showing an IP?
Someone commented on the processor not really being good enough to deal with blockchain as a regular wallet, haven't tried yet.

Hi, A couple of questions -

[1] - when I SSH onto my masternode server, it still asks me for a password. Is this normal or have I got something wrong with the SSH setup ?

Edit the sshd_config placed in /etc/ssh by changing the line containing PasswordAuthentication from yes to no, then restart the server with the command

service ssh restart

http://wp.kjro.se/2013/09/06/hardening-your-ssh-server-opensshd_config/

Nice collection of recommendations in that link thanks

If you create a new wallet.dat, encrypt it, back it up, getnewaddress and send funds to it, does the back up of the wallet.dat also have the new address? Does getnewaddress actually create a new address or just assign one? Is that what the keypool size is?

If you generated new address in a wallet, the backup of the wallet will not contain the new address unless it was backed up after the new address was generated.
THanks

So what happened to the buy wall? Was it pulled or eaten?

The guy was impattience, bought it straight out 20K dark.

Holy shit!  20k...man that's a baller.  I've been buying in 400 to 500drk in small chunk orders... And I thought that was something special.   Nice... Damn it though.  I'm hoping I can get some more at 59...agghh.  Not likely.  On that note what's the fast exchange to accept dollars to trade with?  That's what's killing me right now.  Evertime I send money to my exchange it takes up to 7 days to clear... Not acceptable.  Any thoughts?

money takes too long !
Fastest way:
Buy BTC on Localbitcoin
send to exchange, buy DRK and done !
yup
