What is the best way to explain that bitcoin isnt "fake" or "imaginary" to one who is ignorant about bitcoin and very close-minded? Yes I know it is sort of "imaginary", but there has to be some argument for it.
Simple. I open my blockchain app, send some BTC to my bitpay address, and then show the other person the text message I receive seconds later indicating the amount of USD credited to my bank account. That usually grabs their attention. So you're willing to pay fees just to demonstrate someone that Bitcoin isn't fake?

If they have the audacity, or forward thinking, to fly peoples packages to their houses via drones, why don't they accept the cryptocurrency of the future...
You mean the Google or Apple coins? That's still in beta testing stage...

nice way to advertise your new exchange....

Where is proof that there was even theft involved?
Theft is a nice term used to try to cover up the stupidity of a person who exposes sensitive information, like their private key.
They can chase the "thief" all they want, they'll never see a single BIT of that coin ever again...

You're lucky I'm not your neighbor.

I read the article and I still see no reason for people to sell their Litecoins and alts.
Okay so the creation of a tool which allows any alt-coin "feature" to be instantly incorporated into Bitcoin instead .... Means you should keep your alt coins, even though they are 100% obsolete. Got it. Listen to the podcast. They explain why the entire point of the effort is to make alt coins a thing of the past. -B- If Litecoin goes to the moon (I'm sorry, I have to use terms that most people here understand) then give me a reason why people should switch from Litecoin to Bitcoin, regardless of what features Bitcoin has?

Sounds like FUD. Sell your Litecoins now!

Guys, you should grow up. If you don't like this system, go live somewhere else. ...
Not everyone has the option to "go live somewhere else". What are those people supposed to do if they don't like to pay for corrupt BS? They're supposed to get educated about the issues at hand, vote, write to their congress members, etc etc. Pissing in the wind... To quote a mentor of mine... “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” ― Richard Buckminster Fuller We have that model now folks. It's called crypto currencies. Fucking use them. And ignore the 3 letter agencies that will use every fear tactic at their disposal to keep you in their matrix. Yep, insert cryptocurrencies into the existing reality and this is what you get. Instead of building a new economy around Bitcoin, the pump and dumpers, the speculators, the schemers, and all the other small time players thought it would be a great idea to fight the existing reality.. Your quote kind of backfired but no worries.

The answer's aren't rocket science, but without reimagining society, most statists struggle to get their head around it. Most anarchists aren't simply saying stop paying taxes and leave everything as is. They are saying "what would happen if we lived in a world where violent coercion didn't exist?" "What would happen if instead of extorting money on threat of violence, we let individuals to work together to form communities, and let communities of communities work together?"
So what would happen? What are the answers?

If you don't pay taxes, how do you even exist in this country?
How do you move around without using public roads or sidewalks?
Or are you a freeloader?

Do that and tell us how it works out for you.

The IRS already knows who you are and what you owe, OP.
And the funniest part is... they are not going to do a single thing about it... because you will deliver yourself to them on a silver platter sooner or later.

Why doesn't Toyota make TV's? Because they make cars.

Another noob, another dumb post.
OP, going from $0 to $450 in 5 years isn't a slow rate.
It could even go to $1 trillion and who cares if nobody is going to touch it?

Do I feel bad for the guy?

I heard rumors he plans to change his name to Kim Bitcoin in 2018.

Nothing ever stops the people in power from screwing the little guy. The same would apply to Bitcoin.
|
|
|
Let's just say Bitcoin isn't suitable for micro transactions, but the same applies to practically any other payment system like credit cards, Paypal and the like. Micropayment is just one of the areas Bitcoin doesn't cover.
Mircopayments account for 99% of my daily spending. Buy a cup of coffee here, a pack of gum there, then a sandwich... I would like to see a payment system designed for the daily stuff not the other way around.

There is no way to prove anything of the kind (what the OP asks)
And anyone is free to pick any private key their soul desires so the concept of a compromised key is nonexistent.
