241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — Meet our amazing community on: April 21, 2015, 07:45:01 AM
Today me and Patrick released a few updates for Nocks. Nocks is a simple payment service you can use to pay Bitcoin invoices with Guldencoin. After our updates we now also offer:

  • Pay Guldencoin invoices with Bitcoin
  • Exchange NLG into BTC and vice versa
  • Available in Dutch and English

This means that all our merchants, like the Subways, Coffee Central and De Prins, can now also receive Bitcoin users in their stores and still only accept Guldencoin.

It is also really easy to exchange Bitcoin into Guldencoin without going to the exchange and without an account.

https://nocks.nl

Good to see merchants in the Netherlands that accept NLG only, it shows how the Dutch are patriotic to the cause.
The new development team looks to be working fast, can't wait for the changes to kick in. The missing ingredient that will ignite this coin to newer levels.  Grin Grin

A little story to tell, I've been trying to get a few friends to get into Guldencoin but have never been interested, I linked them the new site yesterday and now 2 of them want to buy coins.
So congratulations to the Guldencoin team it looks like the new website is going to work well to attract new people.

I also want to know where you think the price is going to go, I will buy the coins for them on bittrex and want to get them the best price possible since it's only going to be just under 100 Euros they going to spend between the both of them. Last 2 weeks the price is going between 400 and 600 so I expect the same to happen again , what are your thoughts for a new bottom price over the next week?

It will go below 450 by the end of next week because some people who trade Guldencoin have never even looked into the coin. It's just about getting bitcoin out, so when btc price goes up these same people will dump out to get back into btc. They will be the same people who will be scratching their heads wishing they hadn't sold Guldencoin in the future.

I have already spent too much time explaining this scam, I will leave these posts in here for people who are smart enough to do a search before investing.

The airdrop was donne by using the kennitala ID system and moving bytes of computer generated data Smiley
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennitala
The initial hype arround AUR just before the airdrop when 31.8 of them worth 600$+, attracted 30.000+ airdrop requests.
After the dump the number of second airdrop request went down to 5000+
And the 3'rd airdrop request went even lower to 2500+
Because the value of the airdop coins is so low now, they have no use in merchant transaction. It's something that you just trade if you have a taste for risk or you firmly believe in the concept propose by AUR coin.
But with the newly dedicated foundation that holds a marketing and development budget, this will change in time.

Do you know what the developer did to advertise AUR to the people in Iceland. I am part of the Guldencoin community and as you can see with our distribtion stats under 2000 people have claimed with a population of 17 million in the Netherlands. The coin has also just turned 1 year old and has plenty merchants, been on the media and even RT but only 1918 people have claimed. Any tips or ideas the AUR developer used would be welcomed.

https://distribution.guldencoin.com/#/stats

Something that is a concern is that EFL with the same coin supply also claimed around 40 000 people in the Netherlands claimed but that was proven as a scam as the coin creators got caught out by having bigger sells in EFL on the exchanges then was meant to be in supply at the time. Now there has been community takeover and they also got a foundation built. Looks like AUR going to head in same direction.

I know some members in Guldencoin have invested in AUR so came to check it out so please let me know how they advertised and I can give this information to our team.

Let me share come facts and opinions I have about AUR.

1. I proved to myself it was a scam when I did some peer lookups during the airdrop, there was less then 150 active nodes. I would say less then 70 at this point in time.
2. The developer is not from Iceland, this is the reason you will never ever get him to reveal his true identity.
3. AUR was created by a smart and patient investor who most likely can wait it out and present some feel good stories to con people.
4. Same sock accounts used to defend the coin.
5. Not in a million years was 40 000 AUR given to unique people as per point 1.

Oh boy, Auroracoin is really becoming popular again, for the same statements are returning. For the sake of argument, this "sock account" will try once more:

1. Even if what you say is true, it would prove nothing. The first stage of the airdrop started relatively slow. People needed to get used to everything and download and install clients. Most payout of the airdrop happened later because people simple didn't have a wallet yet after registration.

Always an excuse for everything?

2. The developer IS from Iceland. The fact that the original domain was registered with whoisguard doesn't mean he's from Panama, for then Theymos, founder of this site must be his roommate! Balduro has been active in active chats with other people from Iceland, he was capable of engaging direct convo's in Icelandic, something a guy from Panama would not be able of.

The reason he remained anonymous is simply explainable by the fact that it would be very unwise for him to disclose his Identity. Same reason we still have no clue who Satoshi is. Emagine, at some point the pre-mine under his control was worth over 1 billion US$, you think he would have been safe from Bankers, Politicians or other criminals if he was publicly known?

https://www.goldenfrog.com/vyprvpn/iceland-vpn ... an example

3. The fact that we have come this far with Auroracoin and it still is one of the most promising projects in the history of crypto proves your right, he is smart!

So are the bank(gang)sters who were responsible for the 2008 crash.

4. The only accounts that are here defending developing this coin have been positively with it from the start. I think we are here because we believe in the possibilities the project offers for it's chosen parameters (Iceland, Currency Controls, only 330K inhabitants, Pots and Pans revolution, etc). The position of Balduro isn't that interesting to me anymore, we are moving on without him, something he was aiming for all the time anyway.

Bulduro is a phantom, lets make that clear.

5. As said before, the way coins have been distributed are not simply 1 on 1, especially during the first weeks of the airdrop. I'm sometimes tracking my own accounts with BTC and lose track all the time in the maze of the blockchain.

Try look in the mirror and keep a straight face, repeat what you just typed.

Guldencoin. This is the one that is really doing it right! I am behind this one 100%, I have sold out of my litecoin holdings and just into BTC and NLG.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — Meet our amazing community on: April 12, 2015, 05:53:48 PM
I have made a post on AUR ANN about how they managed to get almost 40 000 people from Iceland with a population of 300 000 to claim so quickly. The team can maybe get some ideas here if they respond to me.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=446062.msg11065904#msg11065904

Please don't ask for advice from that ann. While the airdrop was claimed by some real people the rest was proven to be taken from the anonymous developer. A few people monitored the blockchain for awhile and picked up that over 100 airdrop addresses in some instances were sent in one transaction. The coin is a scam even though it was a good idea. Just a few bagholders now trying to revive it so they can get out at a decent price and cut their losses.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com/pay-here — Meet our awesome community on: April 08, 2015, 02:02:39 PM

Having had a quick look at AUR again something doesn't quite add up. The dev has not responded in almost a year, no updates to the coin in ages and your still waiting for the developer to take action while threatening to take over the coin.
It takes many minds and many opinions to make something work, the dev team is trying to be inclusive as possible and if you look at any other coin there is no democracy like you have with Guldencoin.

The reason I'm with Auroracoin from zero hour is simply because I think it represents a country that is by far the best place on earth to successfully implement Cryptocurrency. I therefor have supported it all the way, even when things got bad and rough. We are now forming a completely new DEV team that already has a registered foundation in Reykjavik, so we are getting rid of all the secrecy and make it transparent like NLG.

This might also give you an insight why I'm struggling so hard to keep supporting NLG as well. I'm here to seriously turn NLG (and AUR) into the most successful coins around. That's where my drive to fight for improvement on the dev side comes from!

I can respect that, is the dev team going to be from Iceland and will they be using the code that the NLG developers bring out to use on AUR?

Yup, one of the most important things was getting local people involved. We are very lucky to have found some excellent guys with good track records! We have a different, but very dedicated dev team there...

Enough talk though, get those Icelander devs to release some updates and PM me when they do and I will take look.

The current extremely long block times are more the result of dedicated miners having left the playing field, leaving us with only multipools.

It's guys like Biomike that kept things rolling when the multipools were raping the coin, they have left now partially due to the one sided enforcements of the Dev team you try to defend. The way G-J was "progressing" on his sim, we would still be on DGW3 now and at current low dedicated hashes, we would be stuck in total...

Fuse makes VALID points. From reading how things have been posted lately, I feel he's been shunned and targetted for trying to help, and he's the only one from the outside trying to help!!! So what gives?

I'm not going to deny that the way the errors were presented weren't a little upsetting to me and my team.  When /GJ and I were discussing the issues in IRC, he asked if we should make a post about not moving forward with the change yet.  I suggested that we state that the code still needed to be worked on, improved and tested, and that my team would provide full support with testnets, hashrate, etc.  What the community got was a little different from that.  My team wasn't exactly happy about it.  We worked to provide support when support was lacking, and we made a single line code mistake that ended up causing this delay.

That being said, I don't see it as a shunning so much as another excuse to delay a change.  /GJ said himself the only reason he's going forward with it is because the community demanded it:

Understand that if it were up to me, we'd take more time to develop and test a better solution. But it seems the majority of the community wants to try Digishield..

A better solution.  Not DIGI.  A better solution.

I understand that things take time.  I understand that things need to be tested, including the validity of the simulator.  But you aren't going to find a more effective method of dealing with CM any time soon that doesn't involve a massive overhaul of the entire codebase, or an extremely long period of testing.  If you want to test DIGI against the simulator, so be it.  I'm all for seeing if it can accurately simulate real mining.  But don't delay what has already been delayed for 4 months while we wait for a tool that won't fix the issue.  And let me be clear- I wholeheartedly want the simulator to succeed.  But it's a long term project that doesn't need to be mutually exclusive of the algo change.  Fix the mistake that was made when DGW3 was implemented, and work on whatever you want to work on for the future of the coin.  In the meantime, without a code change, we're dealing with this still:

While the code we uploaded had a small error, the algorithm was in fact providing results.  If the devs don't trust the results, I suggest they start up a testnet and test it themselves.  Or the community.  Or anyone for that matter.  Real mining data that can be quantified and examined in real-time by anyone.  Just don't sit around playing it ultra-conservative because you want to wow the community with some new innovative idea or tool.  Push forward, make the changes that need to be made and refocus on the your future goals.  This change doesn't need to be the last change this coin ever makes.  If we have to push out another update at a later time, so be it, but at least we didn't sit around while 45 million more NLG get mined by CM.

Implementing Digi in NLG isn't even that much work, no need to ask the Digi dev's to do that for us.
What IS a lot of work is proving that Digi will actually protect us from a jumping pool, that's why we need to run these simulations. We need prove that the algorithm adjusts properly, and we must be able to explain HOW and WHY the algorithm is adjusting properly.

Two things I take from this post, and I could be extremely wrong, but I'm going to take a stab at it anyway.  First, DIGI isn't hard for /GJ to implement.  So he could have it done now if he really wanted to.  Second, there is already live blockchain data out there, and my "erroneous" testnet data, that proves DIGI works to mitigate jumping pools like CM.

Why delay if you have both parts of the equation?  Just solve for X already.

-Fuse

Here is a post I found where /GeertJohan wasn't happy about Digishield. We should have more faith in this dev team.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — Meet our amazing community on: April 08, 2015, 11:58:32 AM
oops just to break the argument. i sent my coins to trex almost 30 mins ago and it still isnt in trex. is there something wrong? or sending really takes time?

NLG is supposed to solve 576 blocks per day, currently it is solving a little over 10% of that. See http://nlgstats.iblogger.org/  So it will take a lot longer for transactions to confirm.  Why? Above my pay grade. Ask the devs...

I think the Criptoe team pushed for a Digishield change, on DGW3 we were getting around 576 blocks a day. Although something needed to be done but I remember /GeertJohan advising against going digishield. I will try find the post where this was made.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — Meet our amazing community on: April 08, 2015, 08:35:52 AM
Still I wonder who is dumping at this rate and for what reason? It's not miners dumping looking at the amount of blocks solved.
If there is lack of support at the buy site this could go sour imo.

Most people will go insane looking at the day to day trades. Think back to how many times the price has raced to 650 and then comes back down again, this is the time most savvy investors pick up coins while the rest of the people sell in fear.

2014
Week Beginning: 12/15
Week Ending: 12/21
Coins: NAUT, ARCH, ICG, CCN, VIOR, NLG, START, XC, VDO
Return: 705%

Week Beginning: 09/15

Coins: CANN, SHADE, SSD, XBOT, APEX, LTCD, HAL, NLG
Return: 945%

Week Beginning: 09/01
Week Ending: 09/07
Coins: HAL, NLG, VIA, XST
Return: 1,539%

it is possible that there is again a pump!

Traders are stocking up at these low prices by creating artificial small sell walls they hope don't get executed, however it looks like we hit a new low of around 420 level and the currency gets plenty true buy support. 3 weeks ago the low was 360 so the current trend looks very positive.
Lets hope no pumps come in and price rises slowly over time.

Warning!

Keep your buy orders under 600, the price will come down after the announcement. Please don't push this price anymore higher then it is already, let things settle as it's going up too fast. Just relax MPs will be selling still.

I am very happy for what looked like a pump that was headed to 1000, got avoided. The price has gone from a low of 50 to around 500 which is at a level where this currency should be.
I expect in a year from now to have a stable price of around 1000-1500 which is still 100% growth but also expect bitcoin to be over $400 again.

Keep level heads and don't be fooled by sudden quick rises in prices even as great as this currency is. The price needs to rise slowly along with a increase in demand.

OFF TOPIC. Big game for the Oranje today!  HUP HOLLAND HUP!

They seem to have nicer weather than here in Holland (windy, cold and rainy).

At least they look more like a TEAM!

ltex when is your dev team going to sort out Auroracoin? Been watching long time now, i hope your Auroracoin project succeed as I still have some coins.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=446062.msg10848517#msg10848517

I am confused... why is LTEX working on Auroracoin, I thought he was part of the Guldencoin team and community?
