241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season ending in may ? on: May 03, 2021, 09:36:54 PM
It's really sad if you say the altcoin season ends in May, even though what I know is the altcoin season has not yet come to us, try to see the dominance of bitcoin which is still at more than 50% is something that indicates that altcoin season is still not happening, alone in Q1 2022 is the end of the altcoin season, as Bitcoin still allows up to $ 100k at the end of the year.

After all, alseason continues and will last a long time. It won't end just because someone said so. Take a look at Coinmarketcap and see that the charts of most cryptocurrencies are green. I know that nothing lasts forever and sooner or later the bear market will come, but all experts say it won't happen until the end of the year. So calm down and HODL.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most awful Shitcoin on: May 03, 2021, 08:51:04 PM
Which one is our most awful shitcoin?
So far, many shitcoins have been launched, including scams or coins of lies, like BSV from Craig Wright, also called Faketoshi.
Some coins are not right visibly scams but fraud coins like Tron or Ripple. Most fraud coins are centralized which is very bad for a coins because it is not censorship resistant and very unequal.

For us, we need to know about bad coins and avoid it because if no one buys awful shitcoins, such coins will die.
Crypto always need a good reputation to improve real adoption.

I hope all of you can list and explain which one is in your opinion our most awful shitcoin?
Plz post below!  Smiley

In my opinion, the most disgusting shotcoins were all named "scamcoins" by the developers themselves. Here are some examples:

- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475287.0
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=665169.0

I do not know why they were created .. Maybe to warn new users that anyone can create a cryptocurrency and scam them, or maybe to calm investors and really scam them. Decide for yourself.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Dogecoin overpriced? on: May 03, 2021, 08:39:36 PM
Despite being just a meme coin, it is important to note that Dogecoin is a many years old coin with a large community. It is also traded on a large number of big exchanges around the world.
although the coin was not created from the very beginning for serious purposes, but as we can observe today, there is a very large demand, but something tells me that this will not last long and people will soon play enough with this coin.

I have a strange impression that I have read similar statements in the past several times about Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano and many other cryptocurrencies. The truth is that cryptocurrencies will not be overpriced for many years to come. As long as there are still people in the world who have not started using cryptocurrencies, i.e. they will potentially increase demand, then all of the cryptocurrencies have the opportunity to increase the price. The same goes for Dogecoin. The price will go up and down for sure, but I think it still has a lot of growth potential.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Dogecoin overpriced? on: April 28, 2021, 11:26:50 PM
After Elon Musk shilling DOGE, we have Mark Cuban (owner of Dallas Mavericks) joining the party, with a statement of his own.

Billionaire Mark Cuban Says Dogecoin Is Better Than a Lottery Ticket

More billionaires shilling on DOGECOIN, it could reach $1 anytime soon.

We are not really sure if Elon Musk has invested in DOGE. His tweets could only be a joke. But personally, I think he has invested. For sure not so much as in Bitcoin, but you can see how much more DOGE went up in percentage compared to Bitcoin after his investment. I think it is better to invest 1M in inofficial way in DOGE and earn 10000% than 1.5B and earn 200%. I think $1 is ahivable and it will happen sooner or later. And what will you say if DOGE will jump to $3..?  Cool
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: April 28, 2021, 10:52:27 PM
I like to share my story being a crypto enthusiast, a trader and an investor at the same time.

I started in this forum in year 2015 when altcoins are still a good investment and Binance is still not the most popular exchange in the market.
I trade with Poloniex most of the time, sometimes I trade with Bittrex but then I realize that I am not so profitable with trading since I cannot focus on it due to the reason that i have a day job to prioritize.

Therefore, I started to invest for long term and I was entice by how the market moves and I was so optimistic that long term could really change my life.
So to make the story short, I invested with different altcoins and have help it until now.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

So top 10 of my portfolio consist of the following based on my blockfolio.

1) Atlant
2) Edgeless
3) Centra
4) Humaniq
5) Matchpool
6) Lunyr
7) KIN
8.) FUEL
9) SONM
10)NPXS

Please tell me if I should still expect I will be profitable or just give up now already.

maybe you misunderstood the word "Hold" .. because "Hold" in cryptocurency has a maximum time limit. if you pass this time then you will incur a big loss. and in the end you will be wasted. In addition, you are holding some coins that have no good development and potential in the future so you feel fooled like now.

I wouldn't say hold (actually HODL) stands for the maximum holding time of your investment. There is really no maximum time to hold an investment. The investment itself must be completed sometime. In HODL, the idea is not to worry about large price drops, because sooner or later the deflationary structure of the cryptocurrency will defend itself and the price will go higher than the previous ATH. So answering the question from topic of this thread - no it's not stupid - HODLers are always winning so far.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My first two ICOs will be Mina and ECO. Good idea? on: April 28, 2021, 10:31:21 PM
Hi guys, please tell me my plan is terrible.
I have gathered that Mina and eco are two solid projects based on my research and general sentiment and also analyst opinion.

I have never participated in an ICO. I figure this is the best way to get in early.

How would I prepare for this ICO. I hear they sell out quickly. Can someone give me a checklist or gotchas that you wish you knew your first time?

Thanks

I am afraid that if you have doubts about how to check the credibility of a project, you are not ready to invest your money in such projects yet.
Collecting information from people on the internet should only be additional information for you, not a determinant of whether or not to do it.
The most important information for you is in the Whitepaper and in the profiles of people from the dev team, which you can check on LinkedIn.
In short - you should follow basic information and facts, not hints from random people.
Anyway - good luck!
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: April 28, 2021, 10:09:50 PM
Anyone holding many good top ranked coins, even bought at high prices of 2017-2018, should be doing relatively fine. Cashing out a small portion after any big rise can  lower risk.

It is easy for anyone to say that it is best to hold as long as possible and then you will definitely make money. However, many strange situations happen in life and you have to make a decision to sell, even at a great loss. I am also in favor of the fact that cryptocurrencies will always give you money in the long term (apart from shitcoins), but to HODL it you need not only patience, but also financial security.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how Bitcoin will deal with lost tokens? on: April 28, 2021, 08:01:12 PM
What happens to all the coins in lost wallets in the Bitcoin system? If there are only a finite number of coins, won't they become increasingly scarce as people lose them over time?

Well they are gone forever and there is no way to recover them. Most of coins were abandon by their owners in early days of bitcoin when price was almost zero. Also if you lose key of your coin they are gone forever. Thats what decentralization is about, there is no central authority.
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Are some too blind to see? on: April 28, 2021, 07:51:38 PM
Tesla takes profit from crypto investment and some stupid people aren't even bothered, like I always say even billionaires who invest in crypto are here for the profits no matter how long they chill and hype the coins, be smart people

I do not understand what you mean..? If rich people or large companies make money from investing in cryptocurrencies, does that mean normal people can't? If the price of cryptocurrencies rises, I don't see a problem for each of us to be able to make money on it.
250  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "crypto day trading strategies ...." on: April 28, 2021, 07:15:31 PM
I am one the best loser when it comes to day trading. I ended up losing huge money in this gambling, though there are many who are in profit by doing day trading. It's like playing with wild fire, you need to be expert in handling the fire or else it will take care of you.
251  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do I invest in cryptocurrency or coinbase COIN on: April 28, 2021, 07:02:22 PM
Both have their own strengths. As crypto investor my suggestion is to invest in crypto as it has crossed 1 trillion cap. If you play sensibly then you can earn good profit. The only thing you need to be aware of is to choose the coin wisely.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin last till infinity on: April 28, 2021, 06:52:31 PM
Not many pay much attention to bitcoin including me in its early days. Advancement in technologies are rarely accepted in the start. Bitcoin has not only successfully survived its first decade but also gained a huge value. I am 100% sure that bitcoin will be there till 2140 when last bitcoin will be mined. However, we must remember that technology is constantly evolving, so scientists can surprise us at any time and create Bitcoin 2.0

I'm new here. But I spent a lot of time here and learned a lot. For example, when I came here I thought about how to use it, where to write a topic, all this. And so I spent a lot of time getting all the rules and regulations here.

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can doge coin reach 1$ this year? on: April 28, 2021, 06:27:22 PM
I am holding 125000 doge coin , and did not sell even at 0.47 $ , Is there any chances to doge coin can go to 1$ this year ?

Thanks

Doge coin may cross 5$ this year or may end at 0.0005$ at the end of this year. There is no one who can predict crypto market accurately. If you are getting good profit then its best to sell and take position later on. Haste makes waste and this holds very true.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I hope others will learn from this on: April 28, 2021, 06:02:06 PM
Holding coins and tokens and not looking back until you start hearing how big crypto market is will leave you in a very bad mood, I'm sure this must have happened to some people here as well, this is my new sad story, I have some moozicore and nxps in holding and I just heard that they swapped to new coins leaving my tokens useless

MZI swapped to MZG
NXPS swapped to PUNdiX

I hope others will learn from this

Unfortunatelly it happens very often..

Choosing the right coin at time of investment is the key to success. Most of us choose coins that are cheap and have catchy slogans, ideas, website etc. Most of such coins turn out to be shit coins. If you are to invest in altcoin then choose solid coins like ETH, Polka, BNB etc.
256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Hero Satoshi Nakamoto Vanish 10 years Ago Today on: April 28, 2021, 05:50:22 PM
Nobody till date has been able to solve this mystery that who was satoshi and why he disappeared? There are some fake claim also like the one from Craig Wright. May be satoshi is still around and reading this post. It's the biggest mystery of 21st century.
257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin: Too Big to Fail? or Too Big to Jail? - FED Goes Full Retard or Ponzi? on: April 28, 2021, 05:38:30 PM
Credit for these massive statistics goes to bitcoin community who has spent their time and energy in this digital asset along with their trust for over a decade. 1 trillion USD is not what BTC can achieve maximum, there is no final conclusion about at what maximum BTC will stop.

259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can anyone block coins or transaction in blockchain ?! on: March 29, 2021, 09:28:49 PM
If you are talking about bitcoin or another decentralized token then it's impossible to block any address. This is what decentralization is all about. There is possible in theory "attack 51%" - but someone will need to have min 51% of all network to have opportunity of manipulation in blockchain, and at this point of development it is impossible for Bitcoin.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ADA and eth competitors get dumped if/when Ethereum 2.0 comes out? on: March 23, 2021, 04:39:30 PM
Or will they remain stable at least?

I think I like ADA anything better than what Eth can bring out. However I hold both. I started out with more eth but have just been stacking ADA because I like staking it for passive income.

You guys have any thoughts on this?

First of all, ETH will be "converted" to ETH 2.0 so it will just continue to be the same currency, but will be only improved.

In my opinion, the implementation of ETH 2.0 will have a very big impact on the price of ADA and BNB, because both projects are almost in direct competition of ETH.
I am not sure if it will cause the ADA and BNB prices to fall, but it will definitely slow them down.

As for the ETH price, after upgrading and lowering the transaction fees should skyrocketing and chase BTC very quickly.
