241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power efficiency question on: April 06, 2021, 04:13:51 PM
Reading questions like these makes me wonder if these people did learn any basic physics at high school... Facepalm
You'd be disappointed mate, not everyone are into basic physics at high school, in my country many students will leave science class for business class or Art class, everyone hates science class lol 😂, anyways the question isn't that bad, what you don't know means you don't know, not everyone know about crypto and btc today, imagine facepalming infront of such people 😂😂😂
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Merged Mining on: April 06, 2021, 04:07:29 PM
Thank you for the reply.  I was hoping that someone would know if merged mining takes up hash rates from bitcoin mining.  I don't want to guess.
Your topic never said anything about bitcoin or asic miner and also you are in altcoin mining section, if your questions is pointing to bitcoin mining only you are in the wrong place and honestly speaking bitcoin don't have merge mining, as far as I can tell it never happened
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lowering power consumption as possible on: April 06, 2021, 04:04:44 PM
Do not believe whatever watt reading your miner software is showing you, that's not the actual power draw and the most energy consumption gpu on your list is that rx580, the Nvidia cards are less power hungry if compared to rx580, with rx580 your miner can say 75 watt but the real thing is rx580 will draw 100+ from the wall, here is two things you can do here

1. Remove hdd from the PC and start loading OS either windows or linux straight from USB drive, 16gb recommended if going windows 10

2. If you can change that i5 cpu it will help, find something lower like pentium CPU instead, they are less power hungry

3. Use mini monitors for display like in picture below

244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 10x projects picked for 2021 on: April 05, 2021, 01:24:48 PM
I'm bullish on ENJIN and Vechain, ENJ can easy reach 30$ per coin this year and Vechain can do 2$ per coin, I'm more into coins that have something interesting going on, here are others I think will become so big soon

1. BTT
2. HOT
3. PundiX
4. Tron
5. Sia
6.  Mana
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Probably same team? on: April 05, 2021, 01:20:03 PM
Not a problem for me, templates can look almost the same thing and it doesn't mean the team build the two projects and they plan to scam, the fact is most defi projects today have no team visibility available on their websites, the choice is your and that mocktail swap looks interesting to me
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR mining on: April 05, 2021, 12:57:36 PM
Pools don't have limits, infact they crave for more hashing power, the higher the hashrates better for the pool most especially if it's a new pool, you are free to use any available mining pool you want
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HODL your ETH while you mine on: April 05, 2021, 12:43:07 PM
He (Metroid) advised early bail whether it was dec 20 or Jan 21 Still early bail.

But it is for profit not loss. So he is like a B-

I think we will tank just like we have always tanked before. But I think it is in the feb, march, april 2022 zone not today or this month.

Does that mean I go out and buy 50 overpriced gpus no. It means I enter the Newegg Shuffle and look to get MSRP or slightly marked up cards from now until I move from 60 to 120 cards. I have been getting about 1 every 10 days So 60 cards at that pace is slow but what can you do?  Buying 60 cards right now for 1400 each is stupid. As It puts me in the hole. I would rate my moves for this expansion as B+. Buying 60 overpriced cards could work or could drop me to an F if we crash.

Add 1 every 10 days or so works.

60 at 1400 = 84000 they would earn  60 x 60 = 3600mh x 10 cent or 360 a day or 234 days to pay off.

But a big drop could lower them to 60 a day or 1400 day pay off.  Which would be a huge fuck up. So I am not dropping 84000k to be in the hole at best 200 days. I don't need to do it.

Even if bull season ends in 2022 its still not good for me on my part because eip1559 will affect ethereum mining reward, I don't add more to my GPUs and I got them this year february, I should be able to earn more if not for the upcoming eip1559 in July 2022
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any recommended altcoins for this upcoming months? on: April 04, 2021, 05:22:48 AM
OP 30$ is too small for altcoin investment unless you find coins that are still very cheap, something under a cent like PundiX, HOT, BTT, Wink etc, for now my main focus is on Vechain and I've successfully bought 1200 pieces at 0.08$, still looking to buy more if any corrections takes place
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Pundi X recover after recent token swap? on: April 04, 2021, 05:02:21 AM
The team promised buy backs at a certain price point and also max supply reduction, it may affect the price and it may not so just invest only what you can afford to lose, since swap is coming I don't see any reason to buy the token right now, 50$ worth of NXPS is a little over 6000+ tokens and after swap that will turn to 6+ pieces, as if the token will then worth 15$ each? Time will tell
250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safe Seed? What is the cheapest fire resistant seed phrase material to write on? on: April 03, 2021, 10:45:50 AM
I'm thinking of stenciling aluminum? Maybe getting a soda can, cutting a square out. stenciling the phrase on that. So it's waterproof and fireproof.

Any other ideas? Like. I know they sell stainless steel ones with fancy letters you can just put in order for stuff but they're pretty pricey. Me being poor living in my moms basement would like the cheapest, but also most effective thing possible.

Especially considering I have like .... 3 wallets, and will be adding some more later on.

To me my idea sounds like a sound plan. But... anyone have any concerns?

I like the can idea because it's cheap... And... I... think??? it would survive a fire??? ((anyone have any info on this?)) but it's certainly waterproof and better than just paper. If aluminum would melt at average house fire temps, which soft cheap metal wouldn't? Copper or brass?

It's cheap enough to make at least two to keep per wallet and store in the different location idea. which so far will just be in a safe in our house, and the other in the lock box at my families storage facility? Idk about that one tho. I feel vulnerable if the key is away somewhere even if in a locked garage in a lock box. So maybe not. I'll just put it in two different places here. So maybe one in the attic, the other in the safe? Idk. I dont think most burglars would look through books in an attack would they? I know the safe would be a target, if they pried it off the floor, and cracked into it. my only hope would be they wouldn't know what it is and just ignore it. Idk how smart criminals are getting. Thinking of maybe trying to make a poem out of it. So they wont really know what it is but I would. Idk...

Anyone have any ideas on safe storage of the recovery seed?

Point of correction

Soda can is not fire resistance, if the fire and heat is much the soda can will burn beyond recognition, the best bet is stainless steel, I carve my recovery seed for trust wallet on a stainless steel and keep inside my safe locker
251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to prevent lost of 2FA key on: April 03, 2021, 08:57:14 AM
Years back google auth has no 2FA backups to gmail account but today they have make this available, you can also choose to write down the 2FA numbers in a safe location but gmail sync is more safer and highly recommended
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Strange rx580 problem on: April 03, 2021, 08:53:32 AM
Actually I've never seen this happened before since I have been mining crypto coins, I have a rx580 8gb vram that starts showing as rx580 3gb on nicehash, thought it was driver issue and I've uninstalled with DDU uninstaller but problem still occurs, now I can't mine Ethereum on Nicehash

The second strange thing is this problem affects Nicehash only, I can connect to binance pool and the pool detect 8gb vram and I also use GPU-Z which shows 8gb vram, anyone have this issue before?

I want to use this opportunity to hail and thank crypto investors you are brave enough to buy at the top of the market, you guys are so courageous, many will definitely call this as a dumb move or something like that but the fact is you guys are the real reason why crypto keeps pumping

You people drives crypto to it's present state, you have my respect and salutes and also a big thank you
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Need help with an old coin on: March 27, 2021, 09:51:51 AM
Anyone on here mined Niobio Cash? I need help, the value is 0.5$ on tradeogre today and I have 1500 coins in my private key but the problem is I tried syncing the wallet today and it's not working, is this coin dead? The telegram channel Im on is not in english either
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Eth diff adjustable? on: March 27, 2021, 07:35:18 AM
Anyone knows how to reduce or use a fixed difficultly in miners? I'm using NBminer mining ethereum and I'm looking for how to adjust pool difficultly, I knew this used to be possible on cryptonight pools for monero but I've never done such with eth
Monero is a more difficult coin to mine because it uses more complex algorithms. The hashrate depends on the processor, motherboard and RAM frequency.
Ethereum is a simpler algorithm and most miners set the necessary settings depending on your video card. You don't need to devote a lot of time to this issue.
Really? I thought monero is the simplest because there are many copied cryptonight coins since monero got released in crypto space, and also I find monero mining software to be more easily configure than Ethereum for me, I started with hd7970 years ago and it's been fun all along
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building first rig - Advice/Tips on: March 27, 2021, 07:31:19 AM
For your information I'm using 2gb ram on my PC with 4 graphic cards for mining and I have no issues at all, large amount of RAM space is a waste if you are mining with 1x to 4x GPUs, also rtx2060 sucks I'm performance for it's price
258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchange rates - crypto to fiat on: March 27, 2021, 05:24:29 AM
Exchanges have different Fiat rates, what exchange are you using? I'm from Nigeria and I change usdt, btc, ltc to naira through Luno and binance most times but their rates are different, I find P2P to be better choice because you can choose rates you want to sell your coins to Fiat for, presently some are buying naira at 490, 494 and even 510, mind using binance P2P?
259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mycelium or Coinbase wallet on: March 26, 2021, 04:16:31 PM
I have used both wallet and the difference still stands, coinbase wallet is a fully centralized wallet, no private keys no recovery seed, you have no control over your coins, whatever coinbase team plans to do over your assets you can't overpowered them, this is what makes mycelium wallet a better option, stay away from any wallet that has no recovery or private keys
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows wont post when connecting 4th riser and gpu on: March 24, 2021, 05:27:51 AM
Motherboard issues can be too complicated at times, have you tried gen 2 on your motherboard first? Also it's possible that RAM could be the culprit because I have a intel motherboard that won't boot with two RAM sticks inserted in the motherboard if I install 4 GPUs on the motherboard, it's a weird issue cos I haven't seen such before
