241  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: HODLers, Trader's & miner's on: July 07, 2024, 03:28:30 PM
Each have their advantages and disadvantages!  But my question, which of these method attracts so many person to Bitcoin world, and which of these have higher rate of involment?
What are thoughts?
As you don speak your english finish make I answer you for pidgin. And I no go give response base on the foreign environment but bade on our own background setting.

If we talk about mining we gat know say na only countries wey weather no too hot like our own and wey nepa light dey uninterrupted and affordable naim wey miners dey like dey because mining need constant power supply for operation. Place like Nigeria our pattern of electricity distribution no fit encourage miners to exist.

Secondly, for Holder's, truth be say e no dey easy to hodl oh. Leave some people way the talk about this hodling no be all dey practice am due to the way country hard , so me no sure say the rate of involvement for holders plenty but the involvement rate pass miners own.

Lastly for the traders, na there crowd full despite how risky the tin be. Because anybody way just wan start cryptocurrency na how him wan take make profit and na trading them the rush to learn because them feel say trading money na sharp pass hodling. So for me the highest rate of involvement na for trading.
If you look sef you go see say even hodler dey still trading. Oya see p2p na abi that one no be trading?

England vs Switzerland, first half 0-0.

With both team not been able to have a shot on target on this game it's so much to wait for tonthe second half. Although England had a lot of possession on the game but where no where with it. There was an up leveled confidence with England on this one with their performance despite not with any goal, compared to their previous games.

Switzerland on the other hand, has been without any significant opportunity so far with their persistent overloading crosses.

Let's see what could make up of the second half.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do feel for an own-goal letting to your bet loss? on: July 06, 2024, 03:48:43 PM
This is gambling and football, and practically, anything can happen just like own games and may the soul of that player shot dead rest in peace and I hope the culprit gets really penalized and this is one of the height gambling can get people especially when they gamble with money they can’t afford to loss.
I don’t know how to put this whole talks but personally, I think am own goal are mostly out of mistakes and no one should act silly be blamed for cases and scenarios like that.
There those that have taken gambling to another different level entirely that they assume it to be a means of making or doubling their money, and as a result they go on investing huge money in bets. I mostly think of those category of gamblers as reckless people with money. Maybe, they assume football to be simple to play on the field as we watch it on our TV screen, if football was that easy to play as they think, why don't they would have participated in it. And yes, from the whole story as I know, they were all convicted to serve their time.
244  Economy / Economics / Re: Not enough debt on: July 06, 2024, 06:37:29 AM
More debt will make everybody working harder no debt makes society more lazy.
Disapprove of this, as it's nothing so true, imo. To be debt free you would have worked extremely hard to attain a debt free life in today's society's where life is biting real hard. And it takes a continual hardworking to maintain a debt free lifestyle or economy. It's just that only a little percent of individuals or countries that are enjoying a debt free economy, however, I so doubt if there's any country of the world that is without any form of debt since the world is now a global village with economical interdependence through foreign policies.

Spain came in with an excellent start in the second half with their substitute Olmo given them the lead just in 51mins with that fabulous shot with that constructive pass from Lamine Yamal. Olmo didn't waste a sec launching the ball behind the Germany goalie so calmly, a one touch hit.

Can Germany give a response in this game against Spain?  They had that comeback with Switzerland just when we all thought they are put of any possibilities. Looking at the situation, am just left with no choice but to ask if there's a hope still.

Can D. Olmo be the hero as he took the lead for Spain in the 50 minute?
Well, Wirtz F. had to cancel Olmo second half early goal at the 89mims just when we didn't saw that coming. That goal brought a lot of smiles back to the German fans, so electrifying, which beg the question of who's really the hero of tonight's 90mins Full Time play in this match.

So much pressure from Germany as they had to react after conceiving that goal, with a lot of great chances forcing the Spanish defense to bow at last. I think this German tran deserves some accolades. The game is now headed to an extra 30 mins to be played.

247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: With is the minimum post require to earn a merit on: July 05, 2024, 11:14:47 AM
I have been into the system for some months now and I have made over twenty posts but no simply merit has been given to me or earn by me and this make me to be surprise on how these merit are generated, given or earned. However, looking at it in another perspective, I don't know if it is because I did not meet the number of my post require to earn a merit or because of the low quality of my post that is the reason why I had not been able to earn a single merit. So please I will like to get more clarifications on the possible requirement for earning merit.
Am dead sure a lot of replies have made it to your knowledge that to earn merits you just have to strive to be a good poster, to give quality solution solving and knowledge building posts. Reasons for this as a criteria to earn merits rather by posts quota, is that, by posts quota a lot of shits as post will be flying all over the forum rapidly to meet up for any set quota. But with the system in place on how merit can be earned every member of the forum at all time focuses on quality of their post rather than number of posts to be reached. And it makes sense that way.
248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not only about winning and losing, but about psychological control on: July 05, 2024, 10:44:50 AM
Gamblers has some type of gambling pride that makes them not wanting to without fighting back accept the agony of loss. It's that feeling of been defeated without having to try to do something, that probably a flick of luck may happen to change things. It is that gambler with an intact psychology that will be willing to accept that losing and winning is part of gambling and any of the two that upshot has to be accepted without struggling about it.

Accepting the reality of loss makes you a better gambler because if you are ready ready to accept that you won, then you should be prepared to accept loss too. In fact, the moment you stake or wager any money on gambling, you should know in that moment that the money is gone one, you can only consider it as yours if the game really won something you place as prediction, this is the statement that says "stake the amount you can afford to lose should be remembered"
Time ago, i have been in a sports betting hall where I heard a gambler murmuring to himself about a bet he had lost that he wasn't supposed to lose that very bet on those games. He was kind of soliloquizing with himself about how sure he was about his choice of predictions. What am I trying to make here? It is these sets of gamblers that finds it hard to believe or agree with the reality that any game can end badly regardless of the efforts exerted in making the prediction.  So here there worry isn't about amount of money they used in staking (probably because he used money he's not worried to lose) but because of how much of analytical effort he exerted to arrive at those prediction of his which for him the game should have been won.
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Low wages and high real estate price rent and buying prices are main problems on: July 04, 2024, 07:07:13 PM
Op you emphasized so much about working hard that I didn't read about reconciling hard working with working smart. A lot of people that are poor or are unable to access or afford certain luxury in life are not that they aren't hardworking but that they fail to recognize the dynamics in the trend and wave  of the time by being smart to follow suit. They just stay conservative about working hard, in a way that doesn't pay that rapidly much to be rich.

Even should the wages be raised the increments in the cost of estates and other luxury will still inflate making the wage increase not felt or ineffective.

Take bitcoin for a crystal example by looking at the financial life of those that chose to hold bitcoin and those persons that chose to hold fiat over the years. You'll find the difference in terms of working smart from working hard.
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not only about winning and losing, but about psychological control on: July 04, 2024, 06:35:23 PM
When Win: When a bet or gambling game that we do gets a win, Greed will appear and this will influence a person to keep playing with a higher target.
Even because someone is too greedy to never make a profit and continue to put all their money into gambling, until in the end everything is taken back by gambling.

When losing: Defeat will indeed be a moment that will make a person's mentality and psychology down, and even it will interfere with their psyche.
A deep sense of disappointment due to an unwanted defeat makes a person tend to be more emotional and want to take revenge for the defeat and ultimately make bets and gambling games without any restrictions.

These two moments of winning or losing will be the reason where a person's psychology will be played in a gamble.
Someone really has to know how to manage their emotions so that they don't get into situations they don't even want.
There must be limits and targets that need to be achieved, not only limited to winning and losing but more than that.

And same thing with the winning, when it comes you accept the quantity that comes up and walk away immediately without wanting to press for more, that's where the test of psychology which could also be referred to as discipline becomes necessary
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Hated someone because he/she win too much, when you are constantly losing? on: July 04, 2024, 05:41:02 PM
- will you (for the sake of peace, maybe to hide your envy, jealousy) continue to go gambling with that friend? And continue to lose your money?
- or will you tell him point clear that you are no longer interested in going to gamble with him? How are you gonna do it so he doesnt suspect that you are not happy with his constant winnings, when you are constantly losing?

To a person that calls me a friend my success should be a thing of happiness to that person and not getting him jealous about it. If my success makes him envious of me then, he's really not a person to call a friend cause he can kill me in the secret place if I was to win a jackpot and both of us are the only persons to know about me, just so he can claim the whole money.

Nothing of my friend succeeding should make feel bad about it, am not sure there's any right way to express or explain it to him or her that am jealous or envious of him/her that might sound good.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin exit forever? on: July 04, 2024, 04:53:05 PM
However, there are also potential risks and uncertainties that could impact Bitcoins existence, such as:

1. Regulatory changes or bans in various countries.
Lately some of those countries that before now made a ban on bitcoin and other cryptocurrency within their jurisdiction has started lifting the ban, some not completely yet but there's an allowance with the restrictions. On this note I see an opposite impact.

Quote

2. Competition from other cryptocurrency or alternative technologies.
Let the competition exist, if there hadn't been any competition from other altcoins how would people have known that bitcoin is the best and reliable crypto to invest in. No matter the competition that may exist or the development of more projects I don't think any would overtake bitcoin with it's POW.

Quote

3. Security threats or 51% attacks on the network.
W keep hearing that till now.

Quote

4. Loss of public interest or confidence.

It's important to note that the concept of "forever" is relative, and even if Bitcoin doesn't exist in its current form.
Nothing lasts forever but there are developments could last a century and more and maybe bitcoin is one of those devs, need not be that we allow that concept of nothing lasts forever sink  in our mind right now about bitcoin as it's still in it's adolescent stage of growth.
253  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Kucoin exchange to start paying Value-Added Tax to Nigeria government on: July 03, 2024, 01:45:20 PM
I think Kucoin made this move because those regulators have always been acting like they do not know what they are doing. I expected all well known exchanges to have been driven towards this path in a way Nigerian government can generate tax from cryptocurrencies. I really like to see this happening. But let us hope corruption will not prevail in a way that they will generate more taxes but the economy becoming poorer.
But if you ask me  C-T  I will say in the first place, it is not in the place of kucoin or any other exchanges to make the first move for regulation and tax, it was a thing expected of the government to do but they failed in their role anyway. Nevertheless, I commend kucoin for their professionalism in making such move with the Nigeria government in order to see to the use of Naira in their platform because with the level of crypto adoption amongst Nigerians, Nigeria is a huge market for crypto in Africa and kucoin understand what they stand to continue losing if they don't take the move themselves so as to bring back p2p for Nigerian traders in their platform which the ban on their platform has led to Nigerians looking elsewhere. I think it's a win-win situation for both parties.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY on: July 03, 2024, 01:15:00 PM
The gambler lost $12,000 in a single bet and then tried to chase that initial amount but ended up losing his life savings.
$12,000 that's no small money from where am seated reading this and am sure it's no small money in Australia either for anyone to waste it away in a single bet. This is the height of indiscipline and greed in one piece having to lose all of ones entire savings to a game that is unpredictable and by luck.

In all the time I have been gambling, what I learned is that gamblers are quick to spend an amount of cash that they can't afford to lose on a single bet when they've been given an information about that game to them that it's a sure shot. Funny how they lose it at the end after using all their savings in the greed to amass huge win. Maintaining a responsible gambling habit at all times, I think, it's an art that need to be studied by every gambler to apply it in any gambling situation.
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, to quit when winning or to quit when losing? on: July 03, 2024, 12:01:47 PM
I know that as gamblers, everyone can relate to this question, as we have surely experienced it in real situations.

Suppose our bankroll is $100 and it has already grown to $500, would you quit or continue? Conversely, if with our bankroll, we are down to $10, would you still continue or save the remaining $10? I used specific amounts to make it easier to discuss this situation. I understand that we all gamble with different amounts based on our income, but consider this as an example. You can mention any amount you want based on your personal experience; it doesn't matter.

I'll stick with the specific amount you use and would try to be straight forward on this. I know a lot of people will want to say it's easier to walk away when you are in streaks of win which theoretical it's does sound simple to do but in the practical under a real life experience it takes a lot of determination and discipline to do that than it does with walking away when you're at loss from a $100 to $10. Seeing that we're having sessions of wins we will want to get more not until when those wins stop and revert to losses with each session that's when thought about stopping starts ringing. Because losing has a different way of hitting us than when we're in win. It's like it takes our brain back to a reset factory mode Shocked

Greed will always be something that is difficult to ignore for the majority of gamblers, especially those who are addicted, I understand what you are saying, that practicing is much more difficult than saying and as you said, usually when they are in a winning situation, the majority of people will prefer to continue the game in order to get bigger amounts, that's true but I think we also shouldn't forget that there is still a minority of gamblers who always feel enough with what they already get. What this means is that if you are a gambler who does not have an excessive interest in winning then yes you will be able to easily stop in winning situations and ignore greed, and in fact in losing situations it is the same, provided that if they understand and realize that winning comes from luck and after that the possibility of defeat will continue to lurk, so in terms of stopping when you win or stopping when you lose it will be an easy action if a gambler does not have the intention and goal to make a profit.
Not wrong of you to say greed is also a cuasal to why gamblers would act that way not walking a away in a win situation. But just a reminder that I didn't rule out that fact that there are gamblers that would be very conscious enough to walk away but just as you had said they are not in the majority and that's not cool for me.

I just want to add that though some of these gamblers that would still want to keep gamblers even after sessions of wins, not all fall under the greed category, some just get carried away by the excitement of the game at the moment. That's to say,  while we gamble we should be too carried away by the game that we loose guard of when to quit with profit.
256  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we going to experience above $80k in this month of July. on: July 02, 2024, 05:41:46 PM
There is no particular signs about this month July that avails optimism that bitcoin price could go up $80k within the month to be realistic but been an unsure market about where the direction could weaver in the next days or weeks we just have to stay optimistic that the price might touch there and if it doesn't then, it's wont won't below $55k however it dips. I still hold an optimist view about the price of bitcoin soaring even above the 80k price before the year ends. It's less than five months and a lot of our expectations could still occur.

258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: From $30 free bet to $168 on: July 02, 2024, 03:28:12 PM
I don't agree Charles, for it was luck nothing but luck that you had. There are gamblers that would have had it same way as you did by not being careful about their bet and still lost it. You could have still acted with some carefulness and still won, when it's your lucky day everything you play just go in your favour with or without much efforts. I will prefer to at all times exercise some carefulness with making my bets than acting with less or no care.
What my post is indirectly about is that we should gamble or bet with the amount of money that we can afford to lose to make us have a better decision in selecting matches and games. The more we think of not to lose it, this can make us think the way we supposed not to think and the thinking may not favour. The more also we think to not lose, this is directly related to using high amount of money to gamble.
My bad then if that's where the post is driving to away from what I initially thought. If that's the case, it's actually fundamental gamblers do gamble with an amount of money they can afford to lose, with that they can without any form of anxiety make good selection of games. Gambling with more than we can afford to lose doesn't only put us at high risk of losing our money but we as well risk our rest of mind (inner peace) and when this happens we no longer derive any form of fun or get entertained with gambling .

Right from the onset it was a game between the favorites and a team that haven't lost a game in a while. From minute 1 Portugal played better, but Slovenia defense stood strong and resolute

It was ATTACK vs DEFENSE. Leao was the best player first half, but during the second Half Cancelo was doing the "modern full back" thing, and then Costa saved the day.

Slovenia on the other hand didn't mind, just stand your ground. A typical 4-4-2 brought back in the modern game. The just wanted to take there chances, Sesko had there two best chances but missed

In the end,the team that played better, won the game.
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers👉Group Stage👉1/8 on: July 01, 2024, 08:29:35 AM
Watching England's performance against Slovakia was a pain in the a*s. I don't get why England's players are so slow and cowardly.
Bellingham saved them in the last minute and this goal broke the Slovakian team. It would be nice if the Slovakian player had punished Pickford's mistake and scored a second goal. I'm sure that England would have surrendered if the result was 0-2.
Spain-Georgia was pretty much expected to end 4-1. The only surprise was Georgia scoring the first goal, but Spain is definitely the better team. Spain-Germany is going to be a final before the final.
To be honest England ain't giving the fans the vibes they had anticipated from the team looking at the calibre of player that constitute it. They have been escaping through each game with a bit of luck and when they'll have to meet a better team I won't be shocked they get exposed for their weakness because seeing how they struggled to get victory with Slovakia was so disappointing for a team that was initially thought to have been the favourite for the trophy in this tournament. I hope Switzerland makes that exposure possible.

I got relieved and brightened with some colourful imagination when watching that Spain - Georgia match, the message was clear by the result of the game 4-1 that Georgia wasn't close to a rival for Spain. You know you could say that again about the Germany - Spain fixture, it's a cracker,  a game not to be missed because I don't see any other game getting heated like this fixture will.
