Is there a command to clean up the orphan blocks from the transaction list?

Better management of the orphan blocks is part of the wallet update we are putting out tomorrow Smiley

This is normal, it happens when 2 wallets stakes at same moment

Having issues with recent transactions on a staking wallet.

First, I don't have any sync issues. Everything had been working fine with the full node wallet on MAC OS X with 4 to 5 connections. I received 2 transactions on the 2nd day of staking with no issues. Now the last 4 all have had the following status and never get confirmed.

Status: conflicted, broadcast through 3 nodes
Generated but not accepted.

Can someone explain what happened. Is there an issue on my end?

to resolve conflicted stakes, you can open the debug console and use the command "repairwallet"

Wow page 1000, what a journey. Thanks to everyone for continuing to support the work we do! We have a great team here which has been consistently working together towards our goals and has delivered many great features over the last two years. We also have a great community of supporters and NAV wouldn't be what it is without all of you.

In regards to the syncing issues, Soopy has put together a wallet which addresses this. I was able to sync 24 hours of transactions in about 30 seconds which is nothing short of amazing. We are in our final stages of testing the new wallet source and hope to have it available for the public as part of tomorrows update.

Hey Nav Coiners,

It looks like the article has started to be released on the news outlets. We've done our best to coordinate across them to release on Thursday 6th of October but with different timezones across the global crypto community, it is a hard thing to coordinate! It's Thursday here in New Zealand, so we've released the article to our news section:

Guys there is no Trojan in the wallet. It is a false positive.  We have discussed this at length in the past. We have submitted the file to the service to see if they can white list it. If you are unsure about the exe the source is on github and you can review and build your own wallet if you are worried. For now please understand that we can not control this false positive but are working to resolve it.

Cheers,
Craig

Hey guys! Big News!

Craig has offered to give 10,000 Nav Coins to one lucky person.

All you have to do is support our Thunderclap Campaign here http://thndr.me/9QeKkH then share the link on social media.

The winner will be picked at random.

We are timing this campaign with the relaunch of the new network for maximum exposure.

15 Days to go! Good luck!

Retweeted a while ago . Still holding with a small loss . Too bad i didn't notice that coin earlier . Keep up the good work guys .

The winner just for one person, right?

Yes. we will draw 1 winner from the list of Thunderclap supporters and that lucky person will get 10k NAV.

Slightly different approach to last time where we gave away 100 NAV to 1000 people. Hopefully this one wont keep me up for 3 days writing twitter bots to give coins away! lol Cheesy

Navtech Anon Beta

Started: Wednesday 28 September 2016

Progress Report

Phase 1: Low value transactions with small test group on single server pair - complete

Phase 2: Medium value transactions with large test group on single server pair - in progress

Phase 3: Medium value transactions with large test group on multi server cluster - pending

Phase 4: Large value transactions with large test group on multi server cluster - pending

We have successfully completed Phase 1 of the beta test and have since opened Phase 2 to the public. We have also increased the amount to 1000 NAV sent per transaction for the phase 2 tests and widened the group to 24 participants. We will be looking to add more servers to the cluster over the coming days for Phase 3 and quickly follow with Phase 4 which will be a stress test of the cluster prior to full scale public launch.

Only minor adjustments have been necessary from the findings of the test groups. Everything is operating as intended so far. We are hoping to have everything squared away for public launch in time for the end of the Thunderclap Campaign on Thursday 20th of October.

Navtech Anon Beta

We’ve had a busy week at Nav Coin HQ with the first round of Beta Testing of the Navtech Anon system completed successfully. We’ve made some minor improvements to the code and have re-deployed the updates to the servers. The second round of tests have begun and the test group has been widened to all 22 members of the slack channel #navtech-anon-beta. If you are interested in helping with the test, please join us on slack and get a sneak preview of the system in action!

Now we have more users, we can start to stress test the system and I will also start to add more servers into the cluster this week. I am very pleased with the testing so far. Any adjustments we’ve made have been very minor so it is looks like everything is progressing as expected.

So what was tested ? What was succesful and what wasn't ? Not being critical. Just from interest as NAV investor.  Wink

Sure, so the issues we've encountered so far are pretty minor but i will explain.

1) Coins were returned from the incoming server to the sender. This is one of the graceful fail overs the system has in place, so it actually worked as intended. The reason why the coins was rejected was when the system went to process the transactions and send to the outgoing server, it found the outgoing server was not up to date with the latest block as visible on the network. It was only 1 block behind, but this caused the incoming server to think the outgoing server was not ready to process transactions. I have loosened this check. So it will consider an incoming or outgoing server ready to transact if it is within 5 blocks of the current block. In practice, I've only ever seen them 1 - 2 blocks out but 5 seems like a good buffer. It still has to be up to date with the latest block to process the transactions, but this should reduce the incidence of unnecessarily returned coins when there is a small block count difference.

2) The coins started being always returned to sender, the server needed to be restarted to fix this. This one was a little tricky, the reason why it was failing was because when the incoming server tried to process the transactions, it's query to the outgoing server was being rejected because the outgoing server couldn't find the incoming server's IP address in its whitelist. This error happened over time and the reason for it is an interesting nuance of programming. Basically, as the outgoing server requests to be refilled by the incoming server, it will cross servers off the list if it doesn't receive the correct response and ask to be refilled from another server. This crossing off of servers is done by looping through the whitelist and sending out requests, when a server has failed to respond it is removed from the list. The nuance of JavaScript is that even though i had created a new variable which i was looping through and deleting items from, it is actually just what is known as a pointer, so it was actually crossing items out of the main whitelist entry as well. So the next time it went to use the whitelist, there were no items on it and all requests were being rejected. I have solved this by making sure we clone the whitelist object out of the settings rather than just point to it, this means each time we fetch the whitelist, it is a new instance of the original list from the settings and when we delete items they don't get deleted from the main entry.

Everything else has worked great. All coins have either been returned to sender or made it through the system perfectly which is the intention. So I am glad that the two minor technical issues we had, resulted in no loss of coins by the sender.

There are 24 people in the test group now and I am awaiting more feedback from them over the next couple of days.

Cheers,
Craig.

Hi Nav Coiners!

It’s time for your weekly Monday Update from the Nav Coin Team.

Thunderclap

We’ve started a Thunderclap campaign to help spread the news about the new Navtech system.

The idea behind Thunderclap is quite simple, you authorize Thunderclap to post on your behalf via Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr. Then at the end of the campaign (October 20) it will blast out the message through everyone who has signed up and help to get Nav Coin trending on social media.

So please, go to the campaign and sign up with your social accounts!

https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/47929-navcoin-powered-by-the-people

Even with just the few people we’ve got signed up the campaign already has a social reach of over 60,000 people! You can see how quickly this will add up, we are hoping to gain 500 supporters of the campaign, so please head over there sign up and let all your friends know how they can help too.

Press Releases

Sophia and Mark have written our next press release and sent it for circulation. There should be a coordinated public release of the articles across all the major crypto news outlets this Thursday. The press release covers things which you will already know if you follow this thread or are signed up to our slack, but we want to broadcast the news of our recent successes to the wider public. The article focuses on the success of the first round of beta testing and the recent release of the Navtech whitepaper.

Promo Video

We have planned and are commissioning a slick promo video for Nav Coin. It will be produced by Mark’s award winning associate Bobby Dazzler. You can check out his show reel here: https://vimeo.com/122617955

We are also going to produce some of our own which we are trying to release as soon as possible. We think that video content is a great way to engage people with Nav Coin.

Exchanges

We’ve been in contact with the admins of BTER. They previously de-listed the old Nav Coin and were unresponsive in their support channels. However they have expressed interest in re-opening their NAV markets with the new coin. Any users who had coins on BTER when they froze the Nav 1 market will have their coins upgraded to the new Nav 2.0 automatically and reinstated on their account. When this market re-opens it will mean we have a NAV / CNY pair again which is great news for our Chinese investors! If you are interested in doing business through BTER, please remember that they have been hacked in the past. So please use their service with caution.

https://bter.com

Payment Gateway

We’ve been in talks with the leader of a large retail network in India. They have asked us to build a Nav Coin merchant gateway for their online retailers to accept NAV payments. We will be implementing a service for Nav Coin which is similar to bitpay. This will allow merchants to accept Nav Coin in their physical stores and also on their websites. We currently looking into our options and scoping the project. This will move from pending to in progress on the projects page shortly.

http://www.navcoin.org/projects

That’s it from the team for this week. We are kicking goals and marching towards the public release of the Anon Network followed by its decentralization. To keep up with the latest, follow us on twitter and join us on slack!

Talk soon,
Craig.

Hey guys just a quick update from the Marketing Team

Craig just let me know that they are kicking goals with the beta tests! The windows wallet is compiled and our beta testers have successfully sent their first transactions.

We're also pleased to announce Nav is working on a brief for a short promo video with an award winning animator. Here's his show reel if you want to check it out.

https://vimeo.com/122617955

We're also about to launch a Thunderclap campaign on Twitter! We want to spread the word far and wide that Nav Coin is the future of fast, secure digital transactions. We'll keep you in the loop because this community is going to be vital to the success of the campaign!

https://www.thunderclap.it/?locale=en

Thanks for the support everyone! And stock up on those cheap Nav Coins while you still can!

Cheers!

Mark and Sophia are also putting together an article about the whitepaper, beta test and public launch of the Navtech Anon System which we will be distributing to all news outlets in the coming days. So keep you eyes peeled for that!

The team are doing a great job so far and are bringing together some awesome ways to bring Nav Coin to the masses.

Great work!
