s5 R$2000
s7 R$9500
242  Economy / Services / Offering very limited s7 host $0.12/kwh on: November 02, 2015, 04:33:54 PM
I have access to very cheap but small amount of energy. Only ~4.5kwh. I already have clean space, internet, air conditioner, safety and experienced miner (myself). Place will be nearby 24/7. I already have platinum PSU in box not used yet.
I have been trying to get miners but since my government robs 80% of it through "import tax" everything has been very difficult to me, even after months of pursue. I got scammed more than one time in the process, all while having not much money.

It seems everyday that passes and this energy is unused is a waste of money, so since I cannot get someone to sell me miner I will have to try hosting to other people
I offer $0.12/kwh. No maintenance fee or any other BS. Only $0.12/kwh nothing else, except if you want miner sent back to you (highly not recommended due to very high costs which will kill your roi) then you pay sending costs (you also pay first sending costs to get miners to me, like any other company)
I can negotiate. Location in Brazil (must send with very low invoice price!) I can send funds of mine equivalent to your miners' value to escrow so you can be safe that I will not rob you.
Currently available: ~4.5kwh which is equal to +- 3 s7 with window to overclocking and safety.
Also, if you would like to sell me miner instead of hosting please let me know

I'd rather only work with s7 due to hash/weight and experience with it

Hi

We have not abandon SHIFT. I have been on a leave for being sick. Spent several weeks an a hospital. Lets say, it has been alot for me lately. Part time work as a IT-consultant combined with university studies, SHIFT and IRL-life became to much and i went straight into the wall. In other words, a major depression. People seem to think that running a serious crypto currency is a piece of cake, well it is not i can say. And it is definitely not worth it in terms of economic income, it is nearly zero. Those who earned money on this is the miners, without a doubt. But you dont see they mention this. No "thanks for doing a good job".

I have been told by my public relations advisor not to be rude, but when the above writes "1 day off and then i smells rotten", to you i want to say. Fuck you dear sir. Seriously, fuck you:)

Regarding the block explorer, we have no money to pay for it. Etherchain wants 0,2 BTC in SHF. People dont seem to understand that this is quite alot in our current state. We did not have a 11M premine like EXP nor do we have anything close to ETH (but thats fair, its their development in the first place).

Development will be starting again when i feel better. By then i hope to see almindor around as well.

Regards
Joey
Miners are voluntary workers for the network. They must acquire equipment which costs money and pay energy, to secure the network. Nearly all the time it was more profitable to mine eth than shf still some people myself included chose shf in hope it would be a good development and to help the network.

Several weeks in the hospital? You were here and ok last week. I do hope you get better nonetheless. You might wanna try benzodiazepines or SSRIs. Fluoxetine should work well for that.

I am disappointed with the lack of respect shown to me in this case.

Really? Bitmain has generally shown a lack of respect to everyone. Why would you expect your experience to be different?
True, they even decide to ignore me now just for the heck of it: http://prntscr.com/8v70ne
Never have been ignored by a company before.
I really hope they go bankrupt eventually. A monopoly is so bad, I have always said.

I having the same problems. I am using MacOX 10.10. The wallet freezes very often and I need to restart the client. After a couple of times, the data folder seems to be corrupted so I needed to reload the blockchain.
Use light wallet.

No I see whats you mean ChalkBoard, however, even when running the light wallet, i can't see if the thing is actually syncying as the (web) wallet status is throwing a 404?

Status says OKE through the console now... Wallet is Unlocked. Is there anyway to check its actually forging without the web status? Or do i just take it as a given that its forging?
Go to http://127.0.0.1:9085/qora/status/forging on your browser
0 = disconnected/wallet locked (and never been unlocked, because u can lock and unlock without problems)
1 = synchronizing
2 = FORGING. if it's 2 it's good

I might be in the US next year for awhile, hopefully. If I do, first thing I will do is to take care of this.
Still haven't given up to prove bitcoin community doesn't approve stealing, and never will.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: October 24, 2015, 02:48:13 AM

hello
I have a weeks when I fail to synchronize wallet, every time it freezes in a different spot, a few times reached 90%-95%(when running only single Qora in my pc), if runing more software(others wallet, browser...)it freezes  much quicker. Previous version hardly, but been able synchronize. Any suggestion? OS Windows 7,  windows wallet version 0.23.
Thanks

same problems here and I've got a shed load of coins stuck in limbo that I can't even see because the thing keeps crashing on me.

The Java program has a buggy code so it keeps throwing EDT's which is forcing the GUI to become unresponsive and well.... crash, showing no connections.

Qora: SORT IT OUT! - Or delete the whole concept and start again when it's a product that's actually ready for the market....
You first ran the program less than 24 hours ago. Qora has no employees and you are nobody's boss. We are decentralized. You can fix it yourself, perhaps you will even get bounties for that. Or you could pay people to do that.

Download Qora zip https://github.com/Qoracoin/Qora/releases/download/0.23.0/Qora_v0.23.0.zip
Extract (to a brand new folder)
Run qora-LIGHTWALLET.bat
Start from zero, save your seed only, create password and save it
Send funds to your wallet
Unlock it for 2 minutes
Now you are forging.

This comes from a person who also couldn't run Qora nicely but now with lightwallet can run it for weeks without any problem.
Qora is shifting from heavy wallet to light wallet, this will fix everything.

Please be patient and polite. More than anything, be willing to help instead of demanding
Nevertheless thanks for testing

Is there a command to check difficulty, or at least network hashrate?
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: October 21, 2015, 04:37:01 PM
Guy who used to use paypal and western union at least every month here since 2007. Never ever used any of them again for a single second the very instant I first heard about bitcoin. Been happily like that for a few years already
251  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Have 2.311 PH/S rate, PPS P2POOL or PPLNS on: October 21, 2015, 04:07:58 PM
What nobody is telling you and very few know is that you are in fact losing money due to fees and variance if you mine on any pool, even p2pool, with your more than 2ph/s. You need to run your very own node (not a p2pool one, an actual node), then you will have no fees, much lower rejected shares and little latency.

If you want you can hire me to set node and take care of your many machines, having one or two machines is fine to leave all of them online and barely pay attention to them but having hundreds you will have tons of work with wiring, electricity, internet, cleaning, opening up machines, infrastructure, node, profitability etc.
PM me if interested

Is the current reward block 1 Shift ?

No 3 + uncles

Regards
Is the current block time 25s? Always when I verify block explorer it says block time <17.5s (right now 16.5)
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: October 15, 2015, 02:36:45 PM
There seems to be a network issue currently concerning withdrawals from the pool. Please stop mining on the pool currently if you are having issues until that is fixed
Thanks for notifying the members. Would you please consider increasing a little bit your pool's fee in order to avoid centralization? It seems there is no competition, thus due to demand and supply you could do that, and the network and you win at the same time.
I still don't understand why anyone would pool mine on below 100b difficulty.

This is not PoS. Confirmation of block will be done via PoW and will earn most of the reward. What we call this is simple a "staking node" that gets selected by the network based on algorithms. The reward you will recieve is based on the amount in the coinbase of the node. But this is no PoS.. its node staking (maybe a new concept, i dont know). Its a way of secureing the network with more nodes, and the ones who support will get rewarded in a distributed  and decentralized protocol manner.

But in simple.. you can activate your shift software to do node staking, and fill that account with a certain (not decided) amount of SHF. What is important to understand is that when enable nodestaking the coinbase will be connected to an IP address seen by everyone, so there is a tradeoff.

regards
Very interesting indeed. So this isn't pos, but a way to motivate people to run nodes, I believe the reward should indeed not be as big as block confirm as that is far more important, but a reward to run nodes is very interesting. On top of that, if we get PoS in the future too it will be great.

There seems to be a network issue currently concerning withdrawals from the pool. Please stop mining on the pool currently if you are having issues until that is fixed

@ ShiftTeam, when do you plan to fix this issue? It's been going on for weeks and nothing changed.

i didn't receive last 3 auto payments from Suprnova:

This suck!

Why don't you try to fix it too, instead of demanding someone to do that? Take a look at the code, contact the pool owner at least (he's already aware of that anyway).
Don't wait others to do stuff, this is a decentralized community we have no leaders.

Anyone else awaiting more than two weeks to have tickets replied?
http://prntscr.com/8rai7v

-snip-
You forgot many other things. You forgot how bitmain jacked the price up 20% instantly after sp stopped selling to public, and even admitted it, S5 boards temperature difference, careless about their customers, horrible customer service, weeks/months to reply (useless replies), s4 on fire and many many other things.
This is only gonna get worse, as I have said many times before. Yet everyone will keep lining up to be slapped by bitmain once more.
Not a week goes by I don't wish and hope for more competition in this market.

I already did that as I previously wrote, nor have I expressed any want towards this being solved by anyone else besides me and bittrex. I was commenting on how odd it was for always having a smooth service with them and now running into the same problem as the user I quoted, with a different sender.
Thanks for the development once again.

My transaction from Suprnova pool not found:
TX: 0xdd16b9d3a317fdfad13c7154f01b0d7e066c09388398ca9edf3f1588f8f3c343
TX: 0xb6ba8698ab9748390c7bcab18dc6842bbecea66a9cc181a0cf75334646ac9713

https://shift.etherchain.org/

You are posting some random TXs that you claim exist, but blockchain does not. And you want ocminer or or us to do....? Sorry man

OK, what should I do? Some transactions have disappeared.

This is odd. I have always withdrawn without problems from bittrex and now I got the same problem as you. TXID shows up on their website but not on my wallet nor block explorer. I contacted them.
It's weird because we ran at the same problem on different websites (you on suprnova pool me on bittrex exchange)

I see lots and lots of chit-chat about technical stuff, yet you forgot to pump the coin, which equaled in it's death.

Too bad man, really looked like a potential pumpcoin. Maybe create a bit more hype next time.

Kthxbye.

This a long term project, if you're looking for a pump and dump then there a plenty out there.
+1

Someone is accumulating on Bittrex. Almost 50,000 in their balance. That's true for the top 3 actually. I'm in the top 10! Yay!
Bittrex has over 62.5% of the coins, that without ever forging. People need to start withdrawing their balances to the wallets in order to prevent centralization + an accident such as wallet being robbed.
Meanwhile, suprnova has over 68.2% of the mining network. So if we switch to PoS bittrex centralizes the coin, and if we continue on pure pow suprnova centralizes it. We are way beyond the 51% limit on both fronts.

If you have over 1mh/s there is no reason for you not to solo mine. You will run a node which will help everyone and mining at a pool needlessly is the same as donating your money to the pool owner. I don't think any 2012 and onwards graphic card will give you less than 1 mh/s. That's enough for 1-2 blocks per day, everyday, at current difficulty! Stop giving money to pool owner for nothing!
We also need more pools.

If you have money on bittrex take it away before it's too late. Countless times exchanges have stolen and have been stolen. Why are you trusting them so much?
We also need more exchanges.

Thank you very much for another successful release! I wanna congratulate everyone involved in it and I know Qora has a bright future!

"Scaled fee increase for large sized transactions"
This means large sized transactions in kb, not in amount of qora transfered, right?
For example, to transfer 1 qora in a single common transaction will cost the same to transfer 2b in a single common transaction but if the transaction is heavier in kb for any given reason then it will have to pay more fee. Is this line of thought correct?
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: October 11, 2015, 02:05:49 PM
I think the peercoin approach would work very well with shift, and we could also improve it.
In the beggining, pow gets the vast majority of the blocks, but as time passes pos blocks increase its share towards pow blocks.
I think in the end instead of a 1% inflation like ppc has, we could have a 1 shift 100% pos reward per block, which in the long run would mean less than 1% inflation, and no more pow (but only after a very long time has passed, pow will be important for a long time)

i do the same like UfoRia, mailed Bitmaintech-Support and request a full refund:

Hi Support-Team,

With the official posting from BM of the compensation for B1 orders on the bitcoin forum, will full refunds be available?

Order: (xxxxxxxxxxxxx)
BTC: 1823 USD ( 7.913 BTC )
Purchase Date: 2015-09-04 17:36:24
Shipping may start between Sept. 21 ~ 30 (if shipped out 10 days later than it, it won't be considered as delay )

Now we are over the 10day and it is  to be considered as delay, and i will cancel this order
with a full refund.

Thanks
xxxxxxxxx

I wonder what they will do.
Nothing. They don't care about their customers as this is a monopoly. It will only get worst until we have other companies selling too.

Bitmain has enjoyed a lot of good will with this community. You have burned through that now and are well on your way to ruining your reputation.

To wit, Bitmain's business practices since the S3 launch has disgusted me to the point of retiring from mining altogether.

Will be shipping out the last of my sold miners on Monday.

End of an era.
Same.

Heh, good luck ever getting this "compensation". It took me 6 months of fighting tooth and nail to get my promised batch 1 S4 PSU failure compensation. In the end, it wasn't even bitmain who compensated me, it was Yoshi who did paying me directly out of his own pocket. Really sad stuff. Bitmain totally reneged on their promise. I guarantee most of us won't see any comps, not that they're even worth fighting for.

I wish bitmain would just go back to be the honorable and reputable company they once were.  Undecided Hopefully (very unlikely, unfortunately) this is only a speed bump.

Yoshi is a great guy.  He and his team are great to deal with.  I truly wish the company was a little more on his level with customers.

I still remember a conference where S3 was new and Yoshi took a decent amount of time to talk specs, and talk S3 mining with me.  He made it very enjoyable.   I vote to promote Yoshi in the company to running more then some of the support.

He knows how to treat customers.
I have to disagree with you, he's just like all the rest of bitmaintech. Perhaps prior to s3 he was attentive like you said, but now I can say he's no different.
