As far as I can observe being a teacher, I am definitely happy that my students are involve in cryptocurrencies and they earn for themselves and help their families. But, their school perfomance is getting worse. Please give your thoughts how will you help students to earn and at the same time it won't affect their school works?
I don't think it matters really. It's more about student's personality than Bitcoin/Crypto. I'm not sure what exactly are you trying to say anyway. Are students spending too much time researching crypto currencies and forgetting about school or they don't care since they got some cash to spend around ? |

For the time being, I guess $10K is the resistance point, anything above it is pure hype/speculation.
I find this price to be quite good actually. I don't mind investing in ICOs and other stuff If I know that BTC will be at this price point for a while, and not to mention the transactions fees that make it usable again. Big plus. I wouldn't mind staying on this price for whole year. |

Based on a title I kinda expected the contents of the thread to be somewhat reversed Why should anyone invest in Bitcoin Cash ? As I see it, only good thing they have going for them is Bitcoin in the name of that altcoin. There are a shit ton of Bitcoin forks and this one is no different. I can go and fork Bitcoin right now doubling Bitcoin Cash's current block size and calling it "Super Bitcoin Cash". I think this investment plan is too conservative, if it is me, I will spend 50% of the money to invest in ICO. Because the return on ICO is always amazing. Share my current investment plan with you. NEO 30% The ETH 10% BTC 10% ICO project 50% This is fine if you have like a few thousands dollars. But for any larger investors (more than 10k) it should look more like this: 70% BTC 20% NEO-ETH 5% Other coins 5% ICO and other stuff Thats how it is for me |

There are two kinds of people here that share the opinion of OP (Bitcoin is a bubble). Those are:
1. New investors that have no idea what they are doing, they feel like they missed out on the action and there is no more profit to be made so they are watching what they say on TV and coming here with those retarded views
2. People that are here for quite some time but still don't have any idea about technology behind Bitcoin and what it actually does. I won't explain what or how here, I don't have time to write one post whole day but there are information online. Uneducated people, look it up.

There are much better solutions for smart contracts than ETH. I know and I've created many smart contracts in my career as a developer. What I hate the most is working with Ether's solidity. NEO has the most pleasant working experience and in my mind is the best smart contract platform to date.
I'm curious, why do you think Solidity is a shitty language? I've read several different discussions about advantages and disadvantages of using custom languages, but since I'm not a programmer I can't evaluate this myself. That said, I do find Solidity source code extremely easy to read and follow. I'm a big fan of NEO as well. Nevertheless it's worth pointing out that DBFT consensus algorithm or any DPOS algorithm for that matter is by its very nature more centralized than standard PoW or PoS consensus algorithms. Moreover, NEO seems to be much more regulatory complaint and much less privacy focused than Ethereum. But I agree with your main point: I don't think you should do a hardfork every time someone loses some money. Even more so, when people lose money due to a bug in some third party dapp as oppose to bug in a protocol itself. Even more so, when said dapp is celebrated as "smart contract" or "dao" - something that can replace entire legal system. If code is a law, then it has to be a law regardless of consequences. Solidity is easily understandable but it's in my mind just not enough. Also it's a custom language. So lets say you finish something related to computers and you know a few languages like C, C++, Java etc. Now I must say Solidity is simple enough to learn in short time if you have programming knowledge but wouldn't you prefer to work with something that you are familiar with for years ? When I write a production code in Java/C I feel confident in my code because I have years of working experience with Java/C. Now Solidity is simple but I just don't have the same confidence when writing a smart contract with it. That is just my personal preference, I don't think everyone will share my opinion. Also if you have a problem there are tons of material for a widely used language, and in case of Solidity you are reliant on Ethereum's Developer documentation and a few guys that spent their time posting content online in order to help out beginners. If code is a law, then it has to be a law regardless of consequences.

Do not go or learn what people say about investing in any coin, just do your own home work and dig out the best result for securing your money, read, discuss and find out the best and try to invest for long term you must get decent results

people can create their own token in ethereum platform,
so, this mean ethereum platform is useful at this moment
and so many ICO project accepted only eth in funding, this can create another demands for eth my friend

What I don't understand is how can people still invest and believe in Ethereum. Yeah I guess that newbs can argue fast, low fees blah blah. There are much better currencies that support smart contracts in a language other than shitty Solidity. But the main thing, did everyone forget about the DAO hack ? Yeah I understand that coins were stolen but still what happens on blockchain SHOULD NOT BE ALTERED because someone lost money. I mean that is the main point of blockchain isn't it ? I argued for ETC when this kind of topic was popular here. So I would really like for you guys to explain me your mindset and why would you invest in ETH long term (buying it in order to invest in ICOs is not long term !!) when you know that if something goes wrong or there is something that Buterin does not like can be reverted with a fork ?

Interesting how some of you who are hero members and been around a while are laughing at those who lose money because they came in the game late.
If you want BTC to thrive and survive, you should want anyone and everyone to invest and use the shit out of btc. Laughing at them and calling them names because they lost money seems to be counter productive.
I don't have anything against people who lost. I would say buy back at a low like this and wait to regain profits. Don't listen to them. There is no better investment than mining. Tell me where else can you invest ANY amount of money and expect ROI in less than a year ? That is just insane. Of course if you are one of those little kids expecting ROI in 2 months then do something else Mining itself is not profitable of late as in the inception of bitcoins. I wonder why individuals still invest in such hardware which comes with a huge cost of electricity and pool fees.
I am (was until today) making close to $800/mo w an S9. Electrical ran about $257 so I still netted a profit. Check the calculator. It is not 800 a month now buddy So ? It will be a lot more than 800$ in a few weeks. And even for 500$ that is ROI in 3-4 months which is still great. |

Stupid idea. Do you know how much electricity data centers use ? Yeah Google is trying to do something with renewable power but that does not mean anything.
