241  Economy / Securities / Re: CPA, NYAN.*, BMF YARR Shares outstandibg, a.o 19.09.2012, UTC ~16.00 on: September 20, 2012, 03:19:32 PM

Eskimobob, this keeping track of shares as if you are trying to catch me in a lie is a bit of a joke. Really, don't worry about it that much. And please, the last thing you want to do is start supporting puppet/deprived and factory ^^ I think you're a little smarter than that.

Eskimobob is doing nothing but posting accurate facts, something your posts seem to lack. The only reason you would think he is trying to catch a lie is if there is a lie to catch.

EskimoBob: this informaiton is useful, please keep it updated periodically (if Usagi does not post the information themself).

Go ahead, i'm just saying it's kind of stupid. You do realize the entire point of this thread, don't you, bitcoinbear? It's to point out the extreme amount of folly around here.

Oh please, don't catch me in a lie mr. eskimobob! LOL... you people, seriously, you have no clue how to run a business, you do nothing, except sit around the forums and berate people who are obviously doing a good job. It's so obvious. You are trolls, or here to increase your post count. It's really pathetic.

Tell me more about how my posts lack truth lol. You're the new guy bro. Keep that in mind.
Actually, the point of the OP was to announce an "aggressive buyback" across your funds. Since several are currently trading above NAV it makes more sense, economically, for you to sell than buy. The current conditions simply don't support a buyback.

EskimoBob's numbers show that not only have you not bought any shares (which again, makes sense) but you've released shares of BMF. (You have also bought back shares of YARR, but that's an insured security which should in theory hit zero eventually anyway.)

Usagi, you run several services that all make a lot of sense in the bitcoin world, and I personally think that insurance is something that bitcoin needs on occasion. There are a lot of people here that will give you a hard time, some of that's due diligence and you will on frequent occasions get a troll, but please don't let the folly pointed out in this thread be your own.
242  Economy / Securities / Re: [UDN] Is Underdog Networks a scam? on: September 20, 2012, 02:57:05 PM
The glbse cemetary is going to get pretty full I think.

I don't think so, a lot of the bad stuff is clearing or has been cleared out, whats left and what is being added is of much better quality. As people start to figure out that giving money to an anonymous person is a terrible idea they're going to stop doing it.
In this line of thinking, is there any way to view securities listed as X or better. Selecting pink or better would display everything but black market stocks. White or better would exclude pink and black markets.

Also, the distinction between new with the ability to move to white or blue markets eventually and securities that will never be able to advance may be a handy feature.
243  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: September 19, 2012, 09:04:11 PM
No more certain dates as of yet.  We are still nailing down production procedures for how many we can produce a day.
Can you ballpark for us how the number of units you can produce daily relates to the number of orders you're taking daily? or how long you currently expect (again, ballpark) for the first x% of orders to go out?

Any info is good info.
244  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: September 19, 2012, 12:15:11 PM
When the release date?
Latest ship date I'm aware of is late October or early November. @BFL, any more certain dates yet?
245  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Butterfly Labs on: September 19, 2012, 12:56:44 AM
Figures I find this post 5 minutes after I post about the same thing.  I'm having the same issue as everyone else I guess...Rats!
A testament to how many units they're still selling for bitcoins? But it's a problem for people, hopefully the attack stops soon; the better question though is who and why is there an attack?
246  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Butterfly Labs on: September 18, 2012, 04:19:43 PM
Is there a problem with the BFL SC preorder process?

after submitting the orderform, there dont appear the BTC paymentprocessor site.

With IE it jumps to the October-Production-site.
With chrome a Array/ Json ( JSON createInvoice response url: )error appears,

any idea?
I think they are using BitPay as a payment processor and they have some problems - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110028.0
I'm almost certain they were/are using bitpay which has generally worked quite well. TL;DR from the other thread (it really isn't long if you care to read) They're being DDOSed and are currently shut down until they can sort it out. All their funds and private information are accounted for the only issue is availability of the website.
247  Economy / Securities / Re: {Bakewell} Get an equitable stake in a transparent & growing mining company on: September 18, 2012, 02:46:43 AM
More good news, there are currently several buy orders in above Ian's 0.125. So even before the first rig is up liquidity is improving.
248  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Create a default contract for share and bond assets on GLBSE on: September 17, 2012, 05:48:07 AM
I think the most basic contract NEEDS, how you will handle going out of business and what conditions can trigger that default.
Definitely a good start. It's one point that is underaddressed since no one wants to go out of business. But having a comprehensive skeleton shouldn't be a problem, anything issuers want to change they can just specify in their own contracts. Don't like it, then don't take it, say what you'll do instead and stick to it.
249  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Create a default contract for share and bond assets on GLBSE on: September 17, 2012, 04:19:32 AM
Is this going to be retro active? on current assets. I'm just curious
(Because some Assets have Bylaws that define these procedures and a retro active contract change would be a no starter for some assets owners)

But a Default contract should at the Minimum define what procedure should be taken in the event of default (IE Company Dissolving)

Some of other issues would have to be taken up in court IMHO, because some Assets are Legal Companies under the law and have protection as such.
(I have an LLC and DBA for assets doesn't everyone else?)

Event of Default

If the Event of Default all company owned assets will be sold off in a Public Method of sale (IE Auction or Ebay) to allow for maximum return to investors.
Once the liquidation of assets is completed, all proceeds will be distributed to all shares holders in equal value per share.
Once the Final payment has been made the Asset will be Dissolved and no longer exist.

I think Nefario was talking about something to default back to when no other specified plan was made, not what happens when the company defaults as in going out of business. Basically a contract that all GLBSE assets must abide by unless they specify in their contracts what will be done instead.

That being said, I think it's a great idea, but it's also harder to impose on existing assets. A plan for how this affects existing assets should probably be specified, or explicitly put up for discussion.
250  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: more secure online processing on: September 17, 2012, 12:04:07 AM
Your diagram looks pretty good, though falling back to another method of payment verification isn't a bad idea so your site doesn't break if you have to reboot your computer running the client.

Also, if the server is hacked the controlling party can supply forged deposit addresses, much lower impact but still problematic. Imagine if all of MtGox's BTC deposits went to someone else, even if only for a few hours.

One way I've thought to protect what would be the secret scripts on your diagram is to encrypt them and add a wrapper around them that required the decryption key as a POST parameter just to unlock such a script. To prevent a wrapper being placed around that to intercept the key it would need to verify itself and possibly some of the surrounding environment. Then the script would need to provide an appropriate response to confirm it's own identity. Messy, but if done correctly hopefully secure.
251  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Mining Company on: September 16, 2012, 11:51:13 PM
Perhaps I annoy you because you have only attracted 0.1 BTC in referals? with your 'better offer'!
Actually, that was me playing with the referral setup near the time I setup my original account. If you'd like to check that, they're both at about 15% completion at the time of writing. That means that so far in 24 hours I have failed to attract everyone and their cousin with my quiet counter-offer to your spam.

I'm also quite shocked that everyone hasn't pulled their money out of GLBSE where they only get 10% every quarter instead of the radical, near-pirate returns of 10% a year with pyramining. Can you believe how dumb that is?

Perhaps I annoy you because my "better offer" is just that. A better offer, and I'm willing to call you on it. I am not going to advertise as heavily because spamming isn't only annoying, but to do it in this thread would be outright hypocritical of me. If, however, my first offer wasn't good enough for you, then let me propose this. I will beat or meet BobbyJo's offer up to a full 10% bonus on pyramining deposits as my referral. If you have another offer from someone else and you'd like a counter-offer, pm me as well. If you have any questions how to maximize returns using pyraming and multiple account levels, just ask in this thread and I'll do what I can to help.

TL;DR - BobbyJo isn't so good with details or math, and I will bring the free market to bear on him.

As such, for my referrals I'm offering 6% to your pyramining withdrawal address or 7% to your pyramining deposit address when such an deposit receives full bonus.

I'm sure we'll hear something in a few more weeks, whats the hurry?? You buying Huh?
Sure we'll hear plenty once they're out, but who wants to wait?

I had preordered a FPGA single way back when, and had the order converted to ASICs (as I didn't want to spend another $600 to upgrade to the SC Single). But even for those who haven't ordered yet I'm sure having even ballpark information could be good for business. I understand that, at the moment, the best they have is simulations and extremely vague information from the fab company, but I'd still like to know what they know. Just tell us with what level of certainty the information comes with. "Our simulations guess about 1.26W power draw at full speed, it'll make your coffee two degrees above room temperature without plugging in the extra power cord. +- X% specs" Sort of thing.
253  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Butterfly Labs on: September 16, 2012, 02:19:43 AM
Josh, I have a few questions for you, if you're up for it:

  • If I place an order for a BitForce Single SC now, when do you expect to ship it?
  • What is the expected power draw of this unit? Will I be eligible for a refund if it does not meet this expectation?
  • What is the sound level of a running BitForce Single SC like? Will I be able to sleep well in the same room as an operating unit?

Thanks! Smiley

Code:
[list type=decimal]

FTFY Not something you can do in the simple menu, but a useful feature. Just me being neurotic.

Also, and more importantly, great questions. Though as pretty much all of these rely on information requiring a prototype and could be seen as bad faith if BFL answers incorrectly, I'm not sure we'll get a straightforward answer. @BFL, do you have a good guess or ballpark answer for ANY of these questions?
254  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Mining Company on: September 15, 2012, 07:40:27 PM
OOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh  somebody is upset!

Is it because you cant compete with my better offer?  Probably!
Your "better offer" is based on returning part of the referral bonus on new accounts for people who are willing to notify you almost a year afterwards. You, and anyone else, who runs such an offer is still coming out ahead.

If you'd like competition. I'll offer an additional 6% (16% total) to the payout address, or an additional 7% (17% total) to the pyramining deposit address of anyone who signs up using my referrals upon completion of their deposits (this can be done at the completion of each separate deposit). For anyone who wants to participate just PM me your deposit address after signing up under one of my links.

Or PM me for a fresher link.

You just annoy me. You're spamming with your links and obviously haven't bothered to read the thread and aren't participate meaningfully. Competing with you is a joke, and beating your current offer is trivial.
255  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Mining Company on: September 15, 2012, 07:34:14 AM
I have decided to fully support Pyramining and to that end I will offer a bonus of my own.

Simply join Pyramining via one of my links.  Deposit any amount of BTC and receive a 10% bonus from Pyramining.  When your Pyramining investment matures, I will give you an additional 5% bonus.

Thats right 15% bonus on your investment.  Simply send me a PM when your investment matures, with a bitcoin address and I will send you your additional 5% bonus.

Why settle for the 10% offered by the other referrals when you could take advantage of a 15% bonus!

Use my links:
!!Nope!!

BILLY MAYS HERE. I JUST FOUND OUT THE MORE TIMES I POST MY LINKS THE MORE PEOPLE I CAN ANNOY. HERE, UP YOUR'S, HERE'S MY LINKS 15% SPAM GET IT WHILE IT'S FRESH! SINCE NO ONE ELSE WILL CLICK MY LINKS THEY'LL BE OPEN FOR USE FOREVER, SO DON'T DELAY!!!!!111!!!!1!!!

256  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Not afraid of risk? Get up to 1% daily! - OBSI.HRPT on: September 13, 2012, 11:03:06 PM
Hey Obsi, any explanation behind the thread locking for about a day?

The thread was locked for less than 4 hours while I investigated an unsubstantiated threat of violence. I've learned not to take such threats lightly after having dealt with unstable "internet warriors" in the past.

I guess someone got spooked and sold their bonds at a loss, then felt they could try and extort some type of gain out of me. So let me take this opportunity to reiterate:

*This is a high-risk passthrough
*I have no control over the outcome
*I limit my personal investments in high-risk ventures to 10% of my entire portfolio, and recommend everyone find the right number to limit themselves to as well.
*I do not take threats to myself or my wife & children lightly.
*Should this opportunity go tits up you will not be getting any special payout from me, no matter how violent you may be.
My apologies on the incorrect timeframe, I edited my post after reading The00Dustin's post but your reply must have been put in about the same time as well.

Sounds like someone who has issues with anger, investing, and economics. Here's hoping you don't have to deal with the crazies in the future.
257  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Not afraid of risk? Get up to 1% daily! - OBSI.HRPT on: September 13, 2012, 10:10:59 PM
Today's daily coupon has been paid @ 1% of IPO price.

Thank you.

Hey Obsi, any explanation behind the thread locking for about a day several hours?

Edit: Going to sleep doesn't turn a night into a day.
258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: September 13, 2012, 02:48:43 PM
I would love some way to easily reply to and keep track of personal transfers.
Currently, they are just listed in the transfers in / out. It would be nice if it told me the account they were coming from / going to.
I believe someone else (on a whole other thread) found this information inside the full account CVS download. Though not the most direct way to get it.
259  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Not afraid of risk? Get up to 1% daily! - OBSI.HRPT on: September 13, 2012, 03:21:21 AM

Now for a bit of bad news: I will not be releasing any new OBSI.HRPT this Sunday. I usually put up an askwall @ 0.1 BTC for a few hours each Sunday, but the market seems to be shaken and liquidity is lacking. This should give the market a chance to stabilize, and panicky bondholders a chance to get out at a decent price.

Why is that bad news? For current shareholders it is good news because it means the price can go up instead of being held down at the IPO price.
In theory it's bad news because you can't buy in at 0.1 without paying fees, however the price is low enough right now that it doesn't matter. Though Obsi, I don't see any reason not to put up an askwall, if no one buys in that's still fine, but it's available to those who want it.
260  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Not afraid of risk? Get up to 1% daily! - OBSI.HRPT on: September 13, 2012, 02:08:27 AM
Obsi, what exactly do you do?  You are always the top of my dividend chart.

I kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all outta bubblegum.
One of your few responses aside from daily dividends, and very well played.
