243  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ** STEAM GAMES FOR BITCOIN ** huge list, prices lower than retail ** NEW GAMES! on: November 16, 2012, 02:15:41 PM
I just bought Black Ops 2, the code worked fine and Steam allowed me to download the client/multiplayer/zombies, but none of them work. It's giving me an error:

Error during initialization:
Could not load default asset 'fonts/720/consolefont' for asset type 'font'.

I suspect these keys are maybe Russian or something? anybody else with this issue?
Is there a language pack or font pack that would fix this?

248  Economy / Goods / Re: New simple Bitcoin logo T-shirt on: November 15, 2012, 08:44:15 AM
Nice. My vote would be for a green on black, but as that's gotten no votes so far, orange/gold(color from the client) on black would be my next choice. Count me in if these get made.
Things are getting a bit confusing - totally my fault, I should have labeled the shirt options more clearly. I will revise the pictures later today when I get back home.

I am slightly colorblind - but I believe I used grey and not green - there are several votes for that option. However, I want to make sure you meant grey logo on the black shirt?

So the gold logo on black shirt is definitely getting printed at this point. It looks like I will be able to print at least 2 styles. Maybe even 3! I will let people respond for another few days before making a decision - the more, the merrier.

I can't update the prices quite yet because people can't really commit until they know all the definite options. However, if most people follow through prices should be under 11$ for either style.

Thanks again guys!! I am very happy to be able get a few of these for myself without paying an arm and a leg for a small personal order.

nah, I meant green on black, the bottom left of your first post in the thread. how much will the total cost be after shipping? east coast US

253  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Silk Road Crash of 20** ...? on: November 10, 2012, 05:49:06 PM
.... Is blow really worth 130 a gram?
What do you mean?
I guess he means 1 gram of cocaine for 14 BTC
if it's pure blow then yeah, i can see $130/g prices. ultimately it's worth whatever people are willing to pay for it.
if i/you could sell my/your fecal matter to a research company in greenland for $130/g:

step 1)  taco bell
step 2)  prune juice
step 3)  fedex
step 4)  Huh(OMGCHAOS)
step 5)  profit!

255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why arent we spending our BTC? on: November 10, 2012, 05:27:11 PM
most people are still hoping that another bubble will happen and they can sell out for large sums of fiat currency. these are exciting times for bitcoin(though to me it's been exciting since its conception), with the block reward halving and the potential release for asic hardware, most folks holding 'coin are doing so because they have a "i'll wait and see" attitude; this is the wrong approach in my opinion.

people should be spending BTC on things they would normally pay for with fiat, and then use fiat to buy back the BTC they spent, period. this is the only 'savings' approach that is helpful to the bitcoin economy, and keeps bitcoins in your wallet simultaneously.

257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I sell some gold for bitcoin? on: November 10, 2012, 10:32:03 AM
I wouldn't take even only part of a gold investment to bitcoin.
Take some (little) fiat and buy like 100 bitcoins. It will be even more (in % out of total) of the gold you already have.
I agree on cedivads advice, but please keep in mind on what forum you're asking. In my opinion gold is really low risk compared to bitcoin, which has an ever expanding possible profit (or loss).
+1, Bitcoin is high risk, however, if between Gold, Fiat and Bitcoin I could only choose two, I'd take Gold and Bitcoin any day of the week.

I've been wondering for a while, how secure are these 'coins' compared to those held in cold storage? are these a form of cold storage? sorry if this has been asked and answered before, don't want to read almost 500 posts to find out.

also, i think it'd be awesome to hold a poker tournament with these coins.

259  Economy / Goods / Bitcoin T-Shirt on: November 08, 2012, 01:00:11 PM
I searched for a streamlined Bitcoin oriented t-shirt and found a thread that's over a year old with no replies, and one that got edited to completely delete the contents of the OP. Why didn't the t-shirt thing pickup? alot of people would like them I'd imagine, if nothing else than as conversation starters. if any custom clothing shops on here would be interested, I'd like to purchase a shirt. An all-black shirt with a big golden 1's and 0's encircled Bitcoin on the front-center, and some words on the back, like "Fuck the Fed" and possibly a url or 2, like weusecoins.com.

If you make it, I will buy it, and I'm not alone.

I wants a Bitcoin shirt. Plain black with a big golden Bitcoin in the middle. Make it so.
