242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on Facebook's GlobalCoin on: October 16, 2019, 11:05:33 AM
The UNITED STATES Congress wants Facebook to add BITCOIN not its own CRYPTO

US Congressman: Facebook Should Add Bitcoin, Not Create Libra
https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-congressman-facebook-should-add-bitcoin-not-create-libra

This is much better than creating their own coin and if facebook decided to do it then it will bring a lot of positive views in crypto industry but it is unlikely to happen because this large companies are all about profits, that is why they want to have a full control on their own coin. they already discover the greatness of crypto using blockchain technology and they are using it as front for their own self-interests.
243  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Role of crypto (enthusiasts) in the increasing PH cashless transactions on: October 16, 2019, 10:36:07 AM
244  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Savings Vs Investment? on: October 16, 2019, 10:01:23 AM
Having a savings while doing some investment is the better way around for you to reduce losing of your funds so it is highly recommended to use both of this strategy to have a better result. if you have an extra money that you can invest then do so but never use your savings for any risky investment even it offers a big profit.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reality of tokens on: October 15, 2019, 06:43:26 PM
I am amazed to see how cheap is to create all the things to trap the innocent investors and bounty hunters. It's very sad scammers finding new ways to scam the people easily. Because of scam projects market is badly affected. We have to be more cautious to identify scam projects.

Yeah and because of this scammy projects the society sees that crypto investment is all about fraud and bull shit. it is very hard now to on board new investors in crypto space because scammers are so good on creating a fake project that will looks like legit for everyone by simply spending a little amount of money and hire some people to do the work for them.
247  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Sino dito ang naka experience ng last bull run (2017) on: October 15, 2019, 05:36:36 PM
248  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Union Bank Blockchain training program on: October 15, 2019, 12:20:17 PM

249  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is not that good as currency? on: October 15, 2019, 12:05:46 PM
Here are the reasons why Bitcoin is not suitable as a currency:

1. It is protected against inflation and therefore the purchasing power will be intact. The users have an excuse to hoard them.
2. Long delay in getting confirmations (up to 1 hour, compared to a few seconds for PayPal, Visa, Master.etc)
3. Unclear legal status in many of the countries
4. The transaction fee can be high, especially for small sized transactions
5. Difficulty in converting crypto to fiat, and vice versa

Yes these are the things that needed to be solve or have some changes if we want bitcoin mass adoption although i find it comfortable using bitcoin, the fiat currency cannot be erased in the financial system but instead co-exist with bitcoin because both of them have good and bad effects in economy, also if we use them both correctly then we could balance everything without worrying about their bad side effects.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC blocks Telegram with its $1.7 Billion token sale on: October 15, 2019, 11:32:16 AM
What do you think Telegram should do next?

I think they are more likely to do what is in this article:

Report: Telegram’s ‘Force Majeure’ Clause Curbs Investor Compensation

In the end, investors are the biggest losers and they get the big losses

You are absolutely right! whether they refund the money or not, the investors are still losing because of the time wasted for their investment. i can't help but to agree on other comments that SEC is hitting Telegram on purpose, particularly on the timing of SEC to halt Telegram token launch despite that they tried to engage with the regulators for the past 18 months regarding the TON blockchain.
251  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Union Bank Blockchain training program on: October 15, 2019, 06:53:31 AM

Phase 1 will introduce the participants to the entire program and consists of online self-paced learning through interactive media and resource materials.

For Phase 2 the participants will be assessed of what they have learned in the previous phase, particularly their understanding of blockchain technology and Ethereum.

Those who pass will move to Phase 3, which will involve immersion by testing their practical knowledge in real-wold projects and experience with guided development sessions with mentors from UnionBank and UBX, the bank’s fintech subsidiary.

252  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: October 15, 2019, 04:46:55 AM

253  Economy / Economics / Re: Public address complexity and economy of a coin on: October 15, 2019, 04:35:11 AM
There are many workarounds for this issue, for example, use a link shortener service like bit.ly etc., to shorten greenaddress' "permanent payment URL" service.

Hence: your short, easy to remember link -> greenaddress url -> bitcoin address.

Or simply use QR Code. No need to deal directly with complex addresses.

Best answer so far on this thread! the long public address is created for a reason such as adding layer for the security, being unique and making hard for scammers to imitate. the idea of converting public address into a digital name is pretty good but the problem is it will be easy to replicate if you choose an easy to remember digital name.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Criminals got balls because no COP or law to tackle them on: October 12, 2019, 01:49:56 PM
I read people's post on this forum saying even if regulations find its way to crypto space scams will never seize to exist and they keep comparing it to real life criminals even when we have COPS ,POLICE FBI, COURTS crime rate is still increasing, well this is my answer to all of you, in crypto space we don't have COPs or Police to hunt down scammers, accepted, but what do you think will happen if there is no cops, police, courts in real life? criminal activities will grow alot with no boundaries, it will be the same thing with crypto space, if there are laws that can jail scammers at least they will start hiding and there will be FEAR, unlike when there is nothing to fear off scammers now, scammers have too much freedom compare to real life criminals where there is something to tackle them.

Try to type-in on google search "crypto arrested" and you will find out there are lot of groups or individuals that already been arrested though scammers are so many in crypto-space and most of them are still free and lurking around to find their new victims. crypto is unregulated but they must be complaint on government rules in terms of crypto on which country they are located. the police is just having a hard time to caught and track those scammers because of the decentralized system and sometimes they escaped being caught because no one file a case against them.
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: New printed money into crypto? How? on: October 12, 2019, 01:32:57 PM
Im asking that kind of question, as there is many crypto analyzers and crypto so called "experts "
And their predictions like btc to 100k. Or even 300k.

If they are so sure about this why they dont explain how the fiat money fresh money printed by mostly ecb and Federal reserve will find the Way in to crypto market?
Coz when this money is not going to be invested into cryptocurrency then btc will not reach even to 15k. In order to btc go to at least 20k there must be exacly Plan and action how and from wich door or gate the fiat currency will be invested into crypto market  !!

The money that the fed prints is not going directly into Cryptocurrencies. They are going mostly into stocks.

There is alot of speculation out there that there is a huge supply of new US dollars printed and it leads to massive inflation and people will be buying bitcoin instead to hedge against that inflation. This is similiar to what happened back in 2013 with the Yuan devaluation and it lead to the crazy chinese crypto rally of 2014 where BTC peaked at $1100 or so. People were losing money holding their fiat, so they hedged some of their savings into Bitcoin instead. Right now there is speculation that the same will happen with the US dollar.

If what you expect come true then the demand for bitcoin will increase in short time + the up coming bitcoin halving which will happen this year 2020, so there is a high possibility that we might experience a new ATH for bitcoin. i guess this is one of the basis of those so called "expert" with their predictions why bitcoin will rise in the next coming year.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO becomes successful = ETH will moon? on: October 12, 2019, 08:47:17 AM
As like masulum said, IEO will not affect ETH anyhow brcause IEO launchpad most of the time use their self currrncy, for ex, Binance Launchpad use BNB, Kucoin Launchpad use KCS and other launchpad also follow the same. So, I don't think it will affect ETH price at all.

As far as i know majority of exchanges these days that administrating IEO used ethereum during their sales because the price of ethereum do not fluctuate too much but i agree with you that IEO will not trigger the rise of price for ethereum because if even if they use these currency during token sale, the developer will dump it at the end of the sale.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH experiences the deepest downfall this year on: October 10, 2019, 11:43:25 PM
It is not just ethereum but other top altcoins also experienced a dip since last year after the bull run, just take this opportunity to add more coins on your portfolio because i know that up trend will soon to happen anytime now. also the team is working hard for a better development of ethereum blockchain so there is no need to panic and calm yourself during this bear market.
258  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance legally registered at U.S, does Bitcoin will get increase? on: October 10, 2019, 10:59:08 PM
Why should bitcoin got increased its price in the first place if it's only an exchange got their license  approved in a certain country. some of US citizens as I know have been using bitcoin since long ago and there's no banning just stricter rules that not any exchange without license could get the userbase from there it's a country with big and strong economy after all.
Although it's a good news but I guess it's just an ordinary news because there are some exchanges that has already legally registered in the US not a surprise here. However, having an additional option is always welcomed.

It may or not increase the price of Bitcoin but i am pretty sure that it will open a new option for U.S. citizen to acquire cryptocurrency although they already using Coinbase for buying and selling their crypto. also OP is wrong about the statement that crypto is banned in U.S. because they only stop their citizen to stop participating on ICO but they are good to buy & sell crypto on a licensed exchanges.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My eth is hacked ........ on: October 10, 2019, 10:32:26 PM
Keeping your key in your laptop is great mistake, because you can never be overly careful on the things you download or websites you visit. Ever since I switched to using hardware wallet, I have never had an incident with hackers.

In my case i used my personal computer where i stored my wallets access and i do have a back up on my flash drive, from the day that i learned about crypto way back 2017 until now i do not have any problems with hacking of my privatekeys because i am very careful on browsing and downloading any thing on the internet. i know there are lot of ways to secure your keys but i am contented for what i did and feel sorry for OP's loss.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🏠[ANN][IEO @ LAToken]🏠 C Estates - Tokenized Real Estate Platform ✅ on: October 10, 2019, 09:20:48 PM
Could anyone explain why the link for IEO on Latoken (https://latoken.com/ico/ETH-XCET) is not working? this is the error message i see whenever i open the link "No data for requested pair", does it mean your IEO has ended because the last time i checked your IEO started on 23rd of September but i do not see any news on your social media handle that your IEO was concluded so please enlighten me. thanks!
