Cryptsy should be online with XMR by the 1st September. All new exchanges, fiat or otherwise, can only be a good thing.

What's the latest in regards to this Chinese translation? I think we had gotten 600-800 XMR or so, but needed an organiser...?

I'm sure a token organiser's fee could be factored into the bounty.

iirc, so far we've only pooled xmr without any decision of the details what parts of getmonero.org are going to be translated.

if we want to get the whole site translated it might be indeed better to get some more information up since some pages are still lacking content.

Internet is running extremely slow right now. It took over 20 minutes to get back into this topic.

the site is loading pretty slow currently for me. is it just me or the server having problem now?

it's working fine for me.

on another note: xmr investors just got punished by mojojojo. site is down to ~ -600XMR, while he is up 1kXMR. not bad  Cool

Mojojojo is up 1.1k XMR now, not bad at all Smiley

And.... SafeDice is now supporting Russian, Здравствуйте to Russian players.
Have a great week end, everyone!

Congratulation for Mojojojo who is up to more than 15 BTC this month, and to all XMR investors who also get lot of profit this week Smiley
i think i am missing something here right now, if that guy won 15 bitcoins in xmr how can investors be in profit then? investors have to loose money if players win

That player not won the whole bankroll yes that win lowered the investors profit at the moment but there is still chance to win 12445XMR that site has in its bankroll, in long term the house edge always win, i also would like to say congratulate to Mojojojo the famous of the Power Puff Girls Wink

he gambled on both currencies  Wink was up on xmr at first before busting. and played later with btc and is still up there around 13btc.
247  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Bitcoin tax heaven in Germany? on: June 29, 2015, 02:33:19 PM
If I understood correctly, selling Bitcoins is complety free of tax when transaction is made by private person (and for private purpose only) and Bitcoins have been kept for more than year. Am I right?

Jep, you´re right

If selling Bitcoins would be my only one source of income, will I be exempt from paying income tax at all?

If you sell the Bitcoin after one year u dont have to pay income tax´es for Bitcoins.

But its necessary to say, that holding one year means holding one year..
So if u buy 1 BTC on 1. June 2015 and 1 BTC on 1. July 2015..  u must hold the first BTC until 01. June 2016..
If u sold 1 coin between the both dates.. You alwas sell the first u buy (First In First Out)..

For trades with Bitcoins under a year u got a exemption limit of 600 €, after passing the limit u must pay income taxes.

Sorry 4 bad english Tongue

Dont you think it does matter which coin you sell? I mean when you buy 1btc and let it lay around on a bitcoin address for one year, then it shouldnt matter that you buy and sell other bitcoins on other addresses, isnt it? You could prove that you didnt move the coin.

I know this rule applies to trading houses too. Some got rich with buying and selling houses that way.

that's at least what I'm doing to prove I held coins for longer than a year. I've put them on physical bit-cards as cold wallets, since I could additionally hand out those bit-cards to the tax authorities as proof.
tbh, I'm not really sure if it will work that way *fingerscrossed* didnt cash out any real amount of btc yet.

btw would that possibly create a market for people to buy those cards at a premium if they for instance wanna cash out now?  Cheesy
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 29, 2015, 02:15:58 PM
well, low xmr prices are at least good for gamblers.

so far monero is the second most played with altcoin this week right after clam  Cool

see http://dicesites.com

ps: btw the latest monero whale on safedice was from china, I hope he's coming back soon, since I didn't have the time to ask him a shitload of questions about the perception/status of xmr in china.

edit; just spoke to him, lookjs like I'm confusing him with somebody else. monday...

Here's my analysis:

NOBODY HERE KNOWS WHAT THE HELL THE HISTORY OF CN OR BCN IS.
NOBODY HERE KNOWS WHO CREATED CN OR BCN.
NOBODY HERE KNOWS SPECIFIC INFO REGARDING DATES OF LAUNCH FOR EITHER CN OR BCN.
NOBODY HERE KNOWS THE EXACT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CN AND BCN DEVS.

BOTH CN AND BCN DEVS REMAIN ANONYMOUS.

WHAT WE DO KNOW IS THAT BCN WAS THE FIRST CN COIN.

and it took you days of trolling to realize something so obvious?

Stole this a bit from the DASH thread, but this could be very useful for XMR as well:

https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/dash/

Small bottleneck though, someone has to add all English things first, but after that people can easily translate it into their own language.

I like the idea behind transifex, but it could turn out to be too slow. checking the progress bars for the dash project, there is 65% of chinese done after 1.5month. not sure if there is any estimate on how long the rest including the checking will take. since we're targeting a single market right now, getting a translator directly might be the faster option.

I propose to make a bounty for translating getmonero.org into chinese and also make a bounty for forums to announce the translated getmonero.org website.
What do you think about that?
I would start with 100xmr

I will match your 100xmr.

I'll pledge 100XMR too.

I'm pledging 100XMR . That makes 400XMR.

kazuki offered 25XMR too, and I will match that. so we're at 450XMR in total  Smiley
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blowing the lid off the CryptoNote/Bytecoin scam (with the exception of Monero) on: June 25, 2015, 07:32:19 AM
That is such a ridiculous reach it hurts my brain.

You are really looking more and more like a BCN apologist.  And that's fine... I would rather know who I am talking to than not.

Apologies for sounding the apologist, but there is a Catch 22 here. Either u trust a coin will be disto'd fairly (which never happens) and risks being bought out,by a bad player or u trust a group of anon guys not to sell or de-anon themselves.

Either way with ALL CN coins we have to trust that large holders do not conspire to de-anon our tx's Sad

You don't even need a fair distribution (which I assume is an egalitarian distribution in your example).  You just cannot have one that has 80% in one cartel.

In Monero say you hold 30% of the coins.  It would cost at least $3,000,000 to get to 80%.

Monero does not have an anonymity problem.

That is FUD.

FUD? Methinks not.

Here follows a FACT I HOLD TO BE TRUE:

WITH ALL CRYPTONOTE COINS we have to trust that large holders do not conspire to de-anon our tx's.

80% is not the min required. It's a question of probabilities. A successful de-anon could be achieved with much less.

One method of preventing a malicious entity from BUYING into a CN coin to de-anon tx's would be to ensure a large amount of coins are never put up for sale or are made available for mining to the public. Of course this requires we trust in the preminers/early miners (BCN) as opposed to trusting malicious entities dont get a hold of their coins (XMR). With both BCN and XMR a theoretical attack of this nature is a persistent threat to the coin's anon functionality.

most people already realized you're a troll, so no need for further proof. you can stop posting now. thanks and goodbye.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: June 24, 2015, 09:52:17 AM
But XMR has large stakeholders too.

Not compared to BCN. Only one or two XMR holders have more than 2% of the supply. That's nowhere close to 82%.

Are you shure....
I made a poll how much XMR you own and 6 hit more than 100000. That can also be a million or 2 for early holders  Shocked

good thing there are no trolls on the internet and people don't tend to lie online...

seriously dude, a poll? you might wanna check the richlist on moneroblocks for a more conclusive answer: http://moneroblocks.eu/richlist  Wink

Now you can look!

awesome! can this already be applied to other sites like safedice for a proof of solvency?

260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: June 19, 2015, 05:06:12 AM
My current XMR speculation thoughts...

I think the current action shows the effects of a segregated coin.  By that I mean:  Monero is supported by an interestingly qualified group of investors, mostly old BTC hands and is...

  • based on a non BTC base
  • missing a mainstream GUI
  • trade-able at a limited number of exchanges
  • tightly held by core investors/believers
  • unknown in China

This combination, I believe in part leads to it NOT participating in the current rally, and we find it's moves sometimes disconnected from the market in general.  Both alts and BTC.

  • hard for exchanges to add
  • hard for the masses to use/understand
  • not as easily trade-able as other more "mainstream" alts
  • investors/bagholders are dug in and saturated
  • the system is not gaining any foothold, and has no benefit from China

However, if we look at privacy centric alts we see a similar sort of flatness.. what could this mean?  Are we in a general lull around the perceived need for these tools?  Is faith in the future privacy of BTC and LTC rising due to recent events?

Finally, I find it notable that in spite of the continued high inflation and certain bot mining there is enough buying interest to keep the price generally afloat in the trading range it is comfortable in.

I hope we will see more widespread understanding of the platform and the need for something as simple and pure as this tool, and better exposure in general as well as specifically with Asian markets would also help adoption and eventual spread.

Great post. I agree about China being important. More translation of important content is needed as well as activity on QQ etc.

It would be nice if BTC38 added XMR. Has anyone contacted them yet? They seem to like high volume alt coins such as XMR and could help us with exposure. Posting more ads on MoneroClub also could help with users who don't want to register with QQ or Facebook, but it seems most Chinese need to learn about Monero before there is more demand for local P2P trading.

I agree,  more exposure to china would be nice. Since there is no chinese version of getmonero.org yet, it could be time for another crowdfund attempt. Smiley I'd be in with 100XMR again for someone to translate getmonero.org to chinese. are there any recommended eng-chinese translators in this forum? I've never been to the chinese board.
