241  Economy / Securities / Re: (GLBSE) TyGrr-Bank 3% weekly dividends on: March 14, 2012, 10:11:10 AM
wow, some questions, goat:

  • It says there are 50.000 issues in all, 5146 on sale. Does this mean you already sold 50000-5146 = 44854 issues totalling 4619.96 BTC?!?
  • If not: how many did you sell?

On the charts page you can see the volume done in the last 30 days or what not. I only listed 1000 for sale.

I was not sure to value them at .1 or .01   In the end I went with .1, also I can sell more later if I need.

You mean 10000? 4642 have already been sold.

Hi TyGrr,

i'am very interested in investing, can you garuantee enought volume for buying back those stocks? GLBSE shows 1000 shares of volume for 0.1 atm.

this. Otherwise, this looks pretty awesome.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Estimating the number of bitcoin users from the block chain ? on: March 08, 2012, 12:26:55 PM
. Find connected subgraphs of said graph (transitive closures)

this would also connect users together, via transactions between them, wouldn't it? Since there is no easy way to distinguish which output goes back to the user and which don't I don't think this would be a pretty good estimate without some really clever logic behind it...
245  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Date for 25 BTC per Block on: March 03, 2012, 02:00:00 PM
40515 blocks to go at 6 block per hour makes it 281.4 days, so on 9th of december 2012.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another respected cryptographer predicts collapse in bitcoin mining on: February 26, 2012, 12:37:09 PM
until that shitload of people then realize that bitcoin is a great investment because it's worth hundreds of dollars and decide to hoard instead.

because it's a great investment people are going to stop mining? I don't follow your logic one bit
Hashrate has fallen since July. Bitcoin isn't worth mining right now, but it is worth buying.
That all depends on electricity and equipment costs.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another respected cryptographer predicts collapse in bitcoin mining on: February 23, 2012, 10:40:17 AM
Not to mention people would notice the sound of their gpus mining at full speed so those are pretty much out of the question.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Turn Bitcoin Into the Top Payment Network and the Currency of the Future on: February 21, 2012, 07:25:06 PM
Maybe someone could hack one of those credit card terminals to decrypt the aes encrypted private key using pin as input. That'd be pretty awesome.

I guess we can thank your for the latest price drop.

250  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: probability that 2 clients generate the same public key? on: February 19, 2012, 09:29:54 PM
I know the chances of 2 exact keys is mindbogglingly small, but what would happen if there were?
they could spend each others coins.

The keys don't need to be identical by the way - only their corresponding addresses.

True that. Well spotted Smiley

State the donation Bitcoin address on the website as well.
Working on that, as I stated I am only the intermediary (or "the bitcoin guy"), I have to discuss this with the website admin, but I will get it done.

253  Other / Off-topic / humanitarian expedition to Kenya - looking for donations on: February 19, 2012, 09:39:39 AM
I’m posting this on behalf of a six-member team of students of the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, that are going on a humanitarian medical expedition to Kenya. They need to raise 22000 euros for the drugs and other medical supplies, accommodations, etc. (listed below), and have so far not had much luck finding the donators.

~~ about the expedition

We are four students from Medical faculty and two students from Faculty of Health Sciences in Ljubljana.  We are planning a three-monthly voluntary humanitarian mission in August 2012 to village Majiwa in the South-West of Kenya where we will do our best to provide free medical care for local people.

GOALS OF OUR EXPEDITION:
- to provide the basic medical care for local people
- to educate and raise awareness about the proper hygiene, infectious diseases, drinkable water and adequate nutrition
- to provide financial support for treatment in hospital for patients with more serious conditions
- to get more knowledge about the tropical medicine and therefore to be more able to help the people in Slovenia
- to aware the meaning of the aid for those who need it more than we do

The expedition is a part of a bigger story – the Section of tropical medicine in Ljubljana, which operates as a part of the Medical faculty since the year 1990. It helps the students to organize the humanitarian missions to the countries with worse health care and enables additional education in the department of tropical medicine. The mission is approved by Medical Faculty in Ljubljana and Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia.

For more information go to www.kenija2012.net (google translate; if requested I am willing to provide a more accurately translation of anything on the website); there you will find also confirmation of validity of our expedition issued by Medical faculty of Ljubljana and Ministry of health from Slovenia (under post Priporočila).

~~ donating

Donate to 1kenyaDrbe2W9KfC7djWAZbAKzSR2aXdX

If anyone could spare a bitcoin (or two) or knows people who would it would be much appreciated (and you will also have that warm and fuzzy feeling to cherish).
In the unlikely event of the expedition being canceled I will return the funds to the originating address (if not otherwise requested).

I will make sure to let you know what will be bought with the donated money.
Unfortunately they will not be able to use bitcoins to buy the things needed (yes I know, blasphemy!) so I would like to find a reputable member, that would be willing to buy them (preferably at market price) on date specified below and deposit the funds via SEPA transfer to the account listed on the website of the expedition. Interested please PM me.
The coins will be sold in bulk when the goal amount is reached or on the 1st of July 2012, whichever is sooner.

If deemed necessary I am willing to provide ID (or any other information) to the moderators.

256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Targeted By Latest FinCEN Ruling? – Implications Are Profound on: February 17, 2012, 07:47:16 AM
I guess there are no countries left on the planet where someone could operate an exchange outside of US laws?

Space?
Over here it's written in constitution you cannot be extradited while you're living inside the country. I guess that would count as something? Smiley

All the more reason for someone to make a p2p exchange.

I also have a dream of owning a pool hall one day. There's not one in a 30 km radius. I'd be totally happy with half a million, that makes me quite a lot cheaper Smiley send money to 1Nv7tUL7EPi5BkTeVmA738LnR1HhADzSNG

Would greatly benefit from accepting Bitcoins as a payment method.

So I've been trying to replicate the bug but had no luck. It's funny how the bugs are never there when you're looking for them Smiley
