it's a buying and selling activity. there are more sellers now. for one, it could be due to the holidays and two, holiday or not -- gainers probably decided it's time to sell and cash out and enjoy their gains. it was bound to happen. a bubble pops and everything is just chaotic. but bitcoin isn't in a chaotic state. therefore, it isn't a bubble

For me, I think the bitcoin price by January 2018 will be at $25,000 or higher because right now the bitcoin price is at $19,700 above and i really hope that by January the bitcoin price will be at $25 k.
I don’t know by how much value the market price of bitcoin will by the end of January 2018, but I am very much sure that it will rise to a very significant value may be even more than that of 25000$. The demand of bitcoin is increasing very much in the international market with each passing day. Because of this, the market price of bitcoin is also increasing and this will keep on happening in the coming days as well. hope so. bitcoin at this moment is down to $11,500. massive sell offs due to the holidays? this much of a drop is too much and could not just be because of the holidays, right?

I keep thinking, maybe all those rich people who invested in bitcoin are now cashing out - hence this price crash. It's devastating if it were that. So that's how you kill bitcoin?
very happy that it is! would be ecstatic if it finally touches $1000! Perhaps people are shifting to litecoin for its faster transaction speed and lower transaction rate.
That would be devastating. I know you should only invest what you can afford to lose, but damn that would hurt. I would probably want to buy if such a enormous drop would occur, but for this to happen it would probably be caused by a global ban or something(very unlikely, but very possible); so I wouldn't probably be able to buy in the end due to probably all exchanges shut down.
right. my thoughts exactly. so i suppose the bitcoin devs and the community understand the consequences and would not allow anything like that to happen(?) there must be something really catastrophic that will happen to bitcoin that will trigger a so-called global ban, right? i believe nobody will want that to happen.

Price of TOA is influenced by the market
yes, influenced by dwindling market trust. other alts are achieving new all-time highs. it's not always true that alts take a beating when bitcoin price moves forward. for example digibyte and xtrabytes broke away from 120 satoshis. toa on the other hand, was 120 sats but tumbled and continues to tumble. i agree that former psb dev doesn't have any control over toa price movements but whoever is in charge of trading and marketing probably isn't doing a good job at building trust or a community that will help toa grow. it's turning into a coin fit for dumping -- just to produce bitcoins. the toa dev is admirable though - in that he's doing all these PR stuff and participating in blockchain fora and setting up toa hubs/cafes to make toa a useful coin. hope his effort pays off and should reflect in toa price surging NOT plunging

10,000 satoshis is now worth about 2 usd +/- if the uptrend continues, a thousand sats would soon be worth 2 usd!!! it's amazing how good news relating to bitcoin price makes you both euphoric and wary at the same time.

Hello coins.ph, it would be a lot of help for the users if the website displays the price of the transaction fee in sending bitcoin to the address outside coins.ph.

it contributes to the hype. when one says that he's got bitcoins and sold them at a really awesome price or that bitcoin is a lucrative source of fiat currency, and posts that to facebook, twitter, forums, and other social media then it's going to get a lot of attention. there are still lots who want to get money easy, and well, bitcoin helped make money easy for a lot of people. it made it easy for hardworking people, geeks, risk-takers, single parents, grandparents, etc. it made it especially easy for scammers too, unfortunately.

if the receiving address is accepted by your wallet and returns a successful send notification then you'll most likely lose your bitcoins....

haven't had any problems with cryptopia thus far. xby deposits and withdrawals are working great, as with ltc, bch, and btc. cheers everyone.

Actually today I watched a video on facebook which is about spending bitcoin and gold in USA,it says it is difficult to spend bitcoin but some places are accepting bitcoins accepting as payment like supermarket, restaurants and some institutions. But no one accepting gold as payment then why still people says gold is better?
it's the notion about gold that makes people think that it is better. gold does not corrode and is a precious metal and so it has been a symbol of wealth. that concept has stuck with many up to this time. also, it's tangible. bitcoin, on the other hand, is something new. financial managers can't seem to find a proper category for bitcoin - is it a currency or a commodity? bitcoin holds characteristics of money such as durability, portability, divisibility, and limited supply.... except probably uniformity (?), and acceptability. governments still don't accept it and won't call it as such and so, it isn't a currency because the government says so. they call it a commodity because its characteristics is that of commodities - bitcoin has a global market, its price is determined by the market, and so is open to price fluctuations, and is very liquid. its value gets converted to fiat and it is the fiat value that people actually spend. maybe it's the ancients or traditionalists who say that gold is better . they still can't appreciate bitcoin because bitcoin is data and so, it can't be "held" the way you hold a coin. there's this notion that if you can't actually hold it, then you don't own it or that there's actually nothing and that you're just fooling yourself about having something really valuable when in fact, there's nothing.... so that must be the reason why others would prefer gold over bitcoin....

if the demand for bitcoin continues amidst all the fud circulating in the news and social media, and if there aren't any major bad news about it, then bitcoin price will keep moving up.

This ought to be moved to the altcoin section.

Planning to trade xby. How are the deposits and withdrawals now?
price has moved past 17,000 now. let's see if it goes past it and consolidate within 17-17.5 price might move lower though if the market buys into more fud in the internet. for example, cnbc has just published an article covering a bitcoin millionaire named Grant Sabatier. He recommends bitcoin newbies to NOT INVEST IN BITCOIN NOW https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/11/bitcoin-millionaire-grant-sabatier-dont-buy-bitcoin.html basically because it's a gamble so market could correct in response to his recommendation....

it's like how forex works. you place orders and earn from both price gains and price dips on every pip.
