2401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Colossuscoin- 1.5.2 BIG, STRONG, and FRIENDLY [MANDATORY UPDATE] on: February 03, 2015, 10:18:40 PM
The ColossusCoinv1 Coins off the exchange will be traded directly in that way. The Cryptsy markets are disabled for deposits and withdrawals so at the very least it makes provisions for those that don't have the ability to trade.

Ok, but will there be a guaranteed rate of 1:20? Or Cryptsy coins will be exchanged at market rate (unknown), while the coins out of Cryptsy will be exchanged at 1:20 rate (guaranteed)? I just want to understand whether the coins in Cryptsy will be just exchanged different way (while on the same rate), or they will be treated completely different way than the normal(Huh) coins?

Shouldn't there be a way for the Cryptsy COL owners to send their coins to external exchanger for 1:20 change after Cryptsy takes the COL wallet put of maintenance?

yes there will be a guaranteed rate of 20:1 and the entire amount will be held in escrow. A portion of the remainder will be sold to help pay for maintenance in getting the chain up and running in order to allow for withdrawals of Cryptsy and swap-over. The easiest way would be to handle all the keys off the exchange manually and swap the rest directly with Cryptsy.

I am currently working on a bug present in how the Proof of Stake rewards are calculated hence the delay. There will be plenty of time to be able to swap Coins once we start and will make all provisions in order to make sure all current and past holders are accounted for.

Pretty much no way for anyone who invested in the ICO to achieve any return on investment when it's 3% per year Stake.
2404  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 03, 2015, 02:50:37 PM
I hate to say it but I called it from the get-go and said that the $20 wall was impossible. I would have rathered to have been wrong though and not see people lose their life savings jumping into something that was alpha-technology at best.

So long as it's fair-ish for everyone I don't see anything wrong with a bonus round.

P.S. The cake is a lie

It makes it behave just like POW which is very interesting in it's own right, you get 30 Coins per Block and it's all based on share ownership, number of Blocks, Block size and Coinage. It's like POW mining but without any special hardware lol
2406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Colossuscoin- 1.5.2 BIG, STRONG, and FRIENDLY [MANDATORY UPDATE] on: February 03, 2015, 12:22:16 PM

I still have a lot of colossuscoins at cryptsy. Will I be able to use them then with Colossuscoin 2.0 wallet client? Is it just a new client update or is it a new coin?

A whole new Coin, will have to swap directly with Cryptsy.

Does that mean that all my colossuscoins at cryptsy are safe and will be swapped 1:1 into the new colossuscoin 2.0 ? Or is there a risk that they won't?

That would depend on Cryptsy, it cannot be a 1:1 swap since the old ColossusCoin has a 313 Billion Float and ColossusCoin2 will start with a float of 19.1 Billion but will aim to swap at 20:1 with a reserve of 25% of the float in order to provide income for development and services.

The lower Float amount was chosen in order to make it directly tradable against BTC at the low end of 1-10 Satoshi so that it creates stronger buy and sell walls.

Sorry, I don't get it. What it means "will have to swap directly with Cryptsy"? I have carefully read your announcement about the ColossusCoin2, and had an impression that all old COL coins are going to be exchanged by a special "- Swapover (reverse 1-for-20 coin split)" program to the new ones in a guaranteed 1:20 rate. You have put a big premine on ColossusV2 specially to give ColossusV1 owners a way to change their coins, isn't it?

This is from the ColossusV2 OP:
"We will have an automated program in place in which you send your old coins from the old wallet and will recieve the new coins to the new wallet. "

Did I miss something...? Are you are going to swap V1 coins to V2 for everybody except Cryptsy coin owners? Whats the difference if I keep my coins on Cryptsy or in local wallet? Are coins at Cryptsy somewhat "dirty", not good enough, or what..?

The ColossusCoinv1 Coins off the exchange will be traded directly in that way. The Cryptsy markets are disabled for deposits and withdrawals so at the very least it makes provisions for those that don't have the ability to trade.

I have locked our previous topic on the discussion of ColossusCoin2 and redirected all discussion here

You can view the topic on the rebuild here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=842940.0

I want to provide only the best code possible and make sure there are no mistakes in the way the rewards and Proof of Stake is handled.

There is a bug present that needs to be addressed in which would make the Proof of Stake Reward always reward at 5000 Coins per Block rather than the Reward as (Reward per year depending on difficulty plus fee bonus or 5000 Coins, whichever is lower)

UPDATE FEB 3, 2014

I am closing this thread since I don't want to have multiple threads cluttering up the forums and confusing everyone as we progress into the final version. All further discussion will be moved to our launch thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=941433.0 but keeping this thread as reference to the active progression of the project.

I want to thank everyone for their support and patience with us and hope you understand that we want to provide only the best for the community.

Sorry but I need to go back and do some checks on the Proof of Stake rewards, there is a bug present that would make all the Blocks reward at the maximum subsidy rather than to reward at the proof of Stake reward or maximum subsidy (whichever is lower). It's not an easy task when pushing the boundaries of Proof of Stake.

I must have made a mistake somewhere in the Proof of Stake rewards as all POS Blocks are generating 30 Coins each.

Get your steak while it's hot.....

Welcome to the bonus round....

That's all I got.

It's not exactly bad, just not what it's supposed to be, I'm on it and looking into it.

Dev did u get any reply regardless of what CEX will do now ... they hold Half of Omega now

We talked to c-cex today about the situation and we both agreed the ICO was wrapped up. The buywall was there in case any investor wanted to leave and that's what happened.

When the 5 day period ends the remaining ICO funds +  the returned OMA will be delivered to us and we will use it for development (paying people in OMA instead of BTC).

shouldnt this stuff be burned too? this can easily exploited, dev buy his own coin and sell it when the buy wall is up, bam! dev got back his btc with free coin bonus..  and then dump them.  tsk tsk another way of C-CEX supporting scam devs (not saying you are doing this just telling the possibilities)

Hum, that's a valid point of view but burning all these coins would mean burning 50% of the dev funds.
What about burning 25% of the total supply (50% of the coins that will come from c-cex refund)? That would give us enough funds to pay for some stuff in OMA and the community would also like it, would something like this satisfy investors?

It's not actually burning the supply since funds go into an unspendable address, it's not such a great idea to do that as well because if you ever have a rich list on the Block explorer it shows all those Coins as the top rich list addresses so the marketcap shows a much higher value than the actual value and all addresses show as percentages of the entire supply so you might have 5% of the available supply but if there was some 90% of the Coins that were "burned" then it would show you as having 0.5% of the total supply.

If for instance you were going to burn the Coins properly then Fees would have to be burnt instead of being reclaimed through POW/POS and then the entire amount would be sent to any address as 1 Coin Transaction and "settxfee" as the amount to burn. It can't be done like this currently unless the rewards itself were changed to destroy fees and format the moneysupply.

heh.. Reducing the supply will save craptsy's servers a shitload of server time while it is calculating MOAR free collossally easy COL pos rewards. Roll Eyes

This is where Homero got his hybridflux hypass hichains from

Lol, it seems so real but the Ross-Urbrecht filters give it away.

Quote
Hey guys, I hope you can help me here because I'm stumped and getting flustered. I know quark purity is something that can be quite fickle and difficult to get dialed in, but ever since I switched from a Ross-Urbrecht filter to a Gauss this thing has been driving me up a wall. Before, my noise ripple tolerance was below 30, now it's plummeted to around 8. The filter is rated for delta 7 helix inversions, and so far I've been having huge trouble getting above delta 4.5. My Fermi coefficient is currently set to 0.41, but I've tried everything from 0.10(barely broke delta 1) up to 1.009(only got to delta 6.13 and my VX was humming VERY loudly and getting A LOT hotter than it normally does- like 950K hot- yikes!). 0.41 seems spot on as a Fermi coefficient to hit delta 7, but she just can't get there. Anybody have any ideas of what else I can check? Common installation mistakes when installing a Gauss Quark filter?

I don't seem to have any Bter points, and apparently you can only buy them with USD and not BTC.

I don't have any either, where can you buy it for USD? I've got 5 cents on BTER from like 6 months ago lol Maybe that's enough to buy a vote or two?

pretty smooth... yeap... price will go up as soon ase we are POS only...

Proof of Stake only in about a week, looking good and the new rewards will be active in 3 hours. I'll be keeping a close watch but not concerned with it too much since I previously did ample testing on a private network.

We need more votes on BTER as well, such a high volume exchange would give a massive boost price for everyone and provide some good arbitrage opportunities.
