I'm currently using thegcloud.com/ but for some reason their website keeps saying system invalid although I can login and I'm still receiving tech support quick like.
I would reccommend RackSpace the same people who host GitHub they been around for years.
2422  Other / Off-topic / Re: What os do you use on: July 31, 2011, 07:42:06 PM
Ubuntu Linux encrypted harddrive Wink I use windows 7 if i absolutly have to(Photoshop, Left 4 dead 2, starcraft 2, etc, etc)

why not Gimp?
or Fedora-15-x86_64-Live-Design-suite.iso

i love Pingus "lemming for Linux"
Stunts (remember that old DOS game?), ManiaDrive 1.2, Extreme Tux racer, SuperTux, SuperTux2, SuperTuxkart, Lincity, Foobilliard, Trackballs, etc...

what OS do you use ?

i have Linux Ubuntu 11.x x64 with Classic mode (double taskbars) don't like the Unity desktop. (OSX launcher type)
AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64.tgz, etc...

want to install in other machines/ or hard drives:
debian-6.0.2.1-amd64-xfce+lxde-CD-1.iso
Fedora-15-x86_64-Live-XFCE.iso
Fedora-15-x86_64-Live-Games.iso
Fedora 15 Live-KDE
Fedora-15-x86_64-Live-Design-suite.iso
debian KDE
openSuse
Gentoo
RedHat
Slackware

there are 2 kinds of linux: debian type or red hat type. (terminal commands are different su or sudo)

Linux is much better than W7 x64 ultimate... for a lot of things.
only W7 Ultimate can change OS language... the other W7 cant (Basic, Starter, Bussines).
W7 Starter & Basic are limited to 2GB Ram.
Ubuntu can install or change any OS language.
Boots faster... Faster to Install... needs less Ram... but can have all the Ram your board allows.
Internet is ready from day 1, no need to install WiFi drivers with Qpcom.
Ubuntu software center has almost all software available for Linux ready to install. (No need to Browse internet, enter web pages, figure out where its the download page, click more to download, search the HDD, and Install the software.)
also...
i can browse internet with no lag @ 100% cpu load!! doing F@H SMP2.
try that on Windows.-
i can choose if i want the (X)(_)([_]) on the left like OSX or on the right like Windows7,

W7 Aereo its very nice...
Ubuntu 4 desktops (Ctrl+Alt+Arrows) are very interesting.
AMD/ATI has drivers for multiple desktops in Windows7 but... feels like a weird add-on.

Gimp is so gimp... Tongue

but seriously the amount of time it takes for me to remember just one to 3 menu structures is just ridiculously long besides that gimp is pretty good

Another question, i am not using from github ( the experts release), and in the simple one there is no file called bitcoind , and i can't run ./bitcoind . Is it already included in the ./pushpoold command ?

bitcoind is the "no head" version of bitcoin.  Before compiling and running pushpoold, you need to compile and run bitcoind.
Bitcoin is easier to build than pushpoold, so go build that and then come back here.

Here's the instructions for centos:

http://www.bitcoinforums.net/index.php?threads/installing-bitcoind-on-centos-5.146/

I am really sorry but i am a total newbie to opening such kind a thing . I am already there at the end . Can you please answer this ?
So what i understood , i must install bitcoind on my ubuntu server compile it and run it , then install pushpool then compile it , configure it , and run it .
And bitcoind is the bitcoin client i download from bitcoin.org for linux ?

Can you recommend a host for me ? And i am already with ubuntu, will it be enough to run the pool and the front end site also ?
Thanks a lot !

Bitcoind is the bitcoin client from the linux download on bitocin.org yes... but it comes with a GUI(the interface that you should be use to) and it comes with a daemon(the server version of bitcoin) which is the one to you want to run.

OH man Have i been wondering about this idea!! I would pay to have a vanity address like "1BiTCoInIsWortHonEThousanDDollarS"  Grin

On a GPU that would be a very difficulty address to generate. And if you paid someone to generate it for you, they would have the private key to it...

Thats true but thats why i would just do it my self and find one similar that was outputed.... i'll just keep generating new addresses until i find a good one Tongue

Thanks a lot Viceroy !
I wonder why this tutorial never posted these SQL queries. Will the front end make all these tables ? because i planning on firstly to install the pool, then install the front end, will this be enough ? or these sql queries are required ?

Another question, i am not using from github ( the experts release), and in the simple one there is no file called bitcoind , and i can't run ./bitcoind . Is it already included in the ./pushpoold command ?

I really thank you ! Smiley Things seems to be more clear now .

The quries were in the original to get started but with the new version out i decided to scrape the whole tutorial and rewrite it.
and yes you'll need a table for containing the list of workers and their passwords named `pool_workers` in mining pool

FYI about Mining Farm
major performance update comming soon with the next mining farm update Wink

Where is everyone getting the change their port to 8332?

Notice this line:

Quote
RPC settings | Notice how this ISN'T port number 8332 this is becuase the same port number should not becuase inconjunction with the JSON RPC port other wise you'll get 500 errors

You're getting those 500 errors.

I might retire from people needing help and paying for support on pushpool haha.

Make sure you can connect to bitcoin rpc on your port 8331. I would recommend changing it to 8332 in both the bitcoin config and in the server.json unless you are using that port for something else.

Something I also see a lot of people doing which is such a security issue is: rpcallowip=*.*.*.*

Set that to frikken rpcallowip=127.0.0.1  If you have bitcoind running on the same machine as your pushpool why would you let everyone on the internet have rpc access to your bitcoin if they can guess your username and password and then drain your wallet?

You're getting a 500 error because two things look like they are trying to hit 8331. Give us a netstat before you start pushpoold.

Actually that is not why he is getting 500 errors I put that their so new comers would change their bitcoin port so users won't have to memorize ports for different pools.

2429  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you use credit cards ? visa mastercard? on: July 31, 2011, 04:22:31 AM
I use credit cards and debit cards all of which I've had tons of problems with it. I would love to cancel mine the weird thing is that the business I'm trying to start up will require me to have one in order to pay wholesalers off and my business is aimed at the convince of not using your credit card and to be able to buy ANYTHING(legal) with bitcoins. From house hold detergent, to Home entertainment systems, to computer monitors all the way to professional DJ tables(maybe cars... one day). So if you have a list that you would like to write out on the average things you'd like to buy with bit coins, now is the time to do it as I'm still in the process of applying for suppliers for my business.

Oh yeah I use Visa.

Hi Everyone, I have just set up a mining server based on xenland's version 5.1.4.

The server is http://www.bitcoinmoneda.com, it is in beta state since I just got it up and running.

I have a few questions, are there any known bugs that I should be aware of such on version 5.1.4, since no blocks have been found, the server it is not fully tested.

When browsing the site I get some apache error logs in regards to the database, such as  Undefined
index when php tries to access the database, however it seems to work, however it generates lots of apache error logs.

The other error I found was when loading the database on line 301 in miningfarm_database.sql

-- Dumping data for table `stats_topSharers`
--
'7', 0);
Had no clue where the '7', 0); belongs so I put it in the line above commented out, if you know  what line should be on the file please let me know.

The other problem is that chart for bitcoin value in fiat it is not working on my site, if someone could tell me where to look for the configuration or troubleshooting for that chart.

I think everything else is probably working, so if you would like to join the pool, that would be fantastic it will help test out the site, given the current difficulty level of finding a block, the more miners that join the better.

If you know of any known bugs please let me know, so that I can apply the fixes to the mining server.

Xenland, good job on the  bitcoin mining server software.
Thanks.

Sorry about the MySql file error, I thought i fixed it with the latest update. Sounds like you got it working fine. The apache log errors are due to becuase you must set your PHP.ini file to Production Value error settings instead of the development.

Question in regard to mining server v5.1.4

Under account details, and then under Identity details, where it says:

JSON Mining & Worker Data

Righ below there is a very large string of characters that looks like a bitcoin address but it is not.

What is it?
Is it some sort of key ? something that is private ?

Is that something that needs to be changed?

Thanks,

Yeah that key is just for reference if anybody decides to integrate APIs with mining farm software they can take that key and paste it into a Mining Pool watch websites

In the book, "The Intention Experiment," a professor hooked up a plant to a polygraph machine.  He then had the intention (in the form of a thought) to burn one of the plants leaves.

Cleve Backster was doing this in the 60s. His experiments with yoghurt communications are fascinating, although kinda out-there for most!

The thing i find most intriguiging is that maybe it was the very intense thought it self could have triggered the polograph to give the odd results.

But this thoery arises the question as of "why criminals have a hard time to passing poloygraphs..." well it could be they didnt have enough conciousness(thought power) in the first place to find alternative ways to accomplishing the negative thing they are getting accused with.
